Honestly, while the Long Walk™ for trees can be annoying, the history behind this map is quite amazing and can't be redone if we lose it. Shit, I can still dig up old coords from back in July and go see how they held up

It never died, it just died on FP after it was moved to Games in Progress.

Also i figured out how to survive in the wastelands around spawn, you have to stand still alot, though.
I've tried a few times to get out of the spawn, but i die to hunger.
Not exactly the best of starts.
So, has the server ever been restarted since June? The spawn is pretty much unrecognisable from a few months ago.

If I found something that big left out in the open I would plunder the hell out of it, burn any wood, and fill it with TNT.
Apparently the loading buffer got overloaded and the server died. We will see what happens with the map.

My base is further than 100k, I'm with a friend, and I'm ridiculously bored. I remember my old base, Fort Eden, that was around 8k, I lived under a tiny island with one tree. That's what I found fun about the server. Living in constant worry of someone finding you and making sure you leave no traces, concealing your base as best as possible. Now that I'm so far out, I can have a huge castle and nobody will find it for a while, if ever.

Have your friend replace your bed after you kill yourself and explore around spawn. That's what I do when I get bored.

I lived out at 4k and lived under a tiny island with one tree. :v:
I lived under the ruins of a sandstone castle 1.5k from spawn.

I'm so bored on this server and my friend doesn't really like playing anymore, anybody wanna group up?
Wow, so I just made a portal in my abandoned castle I'm occupying. I spawned in the nether with a bunch of other broken portals around me. I found this long walkway across the nether which led to the top level and then back down and now I'm at this place 11k blocks out. I'm thinking I might build up some food and move all my supplies from my current place to the place the nether portal took me but then I'd walk much farther to avoid people.
Do you guys think 11k out is a decent distance from people? Somebody has obviously been through here already but I'm willing to take that chance.

You're not safe anywhere. I destroyed a wonderful base over 100k, 100k out.
That was pretty badass. I like how all of a sudden Minecraft becomes this wasteland survival with real people and real bases.
yeah, its even really interesting to see a total war kinda thing going on. Sometimes you'll run across some supplies to pillage but most of the time what isn't stolen is just destroyed leaving chests empty or non-existent.
