Why start a new map before the new Minecraft build?
Wouldn't it be better to wait until it's out, so we can have jungles and shit like that.
Although if this new map is just temporary, then I guess it doesn't matter.

Dont go very far away from spawn. so when jungle comes, just walk into "new land" and you get 1.2 terrain.

Nope, Jeb said you have to start a new map for 1.2 terrain. He did this to make sure he didn't break any maps.

When 1.2 is released, couldn't we just make another new world and then copy all the old chunks in?
Just put one up for now, we did just fine without the new biomes this map...

I'm for a new map now, but it would be cool to make an Endor kind of town with tree huts in the new jungle biome.

In the previous map, we haven't seen a single chunk of 1.0/1.1 biomes.
