After a failed raid by 5,000 Spanish militia and soldiers in trucks disguised as AID, and a few border skirmishes. Much of the force has retreated back into Spain. However, Spain is now moving men en masse into a province their army has captured. And is also attacking French shipping along the coast. With rumors that they now are actually sending capable forces, with tanks, and heavy weaponry. From who? No one knows. France has responded aggressively, but its lacking army cannot make much of an impact on Spain. - The French military begins to go into defensive positions in their part of occupied Germany, Saar, and along France. This helps them combat the threat the Spanish have begun to pose along the Franco - Spanish border. However, the French army lacks capable equipment to put up a strong defensive. It holds for now, but will prove a problem later. - France has become the first European power to begin the process of decolonization in their African holdings. Half of their troops in Africa leave, as the other half stays as peacekeepers. While no major problems have become of this, once the French troops leave for good, the fate of Africa is questionable. But, that won’t be for a long time. Since all African leaders calming for independence have agreed to the terms of the French government. - France has agreed on a plan to partition Germany. And a pro - western Democratic government is in the process of being set up. - The long process of rebuilding has begun in France and its destroyed territories. While most of the money has come from the US Marshal Plan, (About 2 billion as a whole), some has come from wealthy donors. France tries its best in employing as many people it can to help repair its country. But this comes at a cost, much of this has been sabotaged. From whom, no one knows. - The newly acquired part of Germany, Saar, now has a base of about 15,000 French troops. And much of the industry there, if not rebuilt, will become a economic problem, as Saar now has a large heap of unemployment. - With unemployment a major problem to the French economy, thousands of men have flocked to enlistment centres, ready to fight back against the Spanish aggressors. Economy - Strong Military - Massive - Soviet engineers begin to research Kevlar armour. Some progress has been made, but problems with the weight and durability of the vest itself have become troublesome. - The Kalashnikov weapon, or as the AK-47 some deem it, has been introduced to Soviet Generals. It becomes very popular instantly. The durable design, whilst maintaining a formidable rate of fire catches their eye. They are moving to convince Soviet High Command about making it the primary weapon of the armed forces. With full production by 1948. - A new Tank design is rumored to be in the midst of research within Russia. However its specifications are classified. The tank, however, dubbed the T-48, is supposedly capable of tackling any threat Western Forces throw at it. - The Soviet army is being re-organized into a more capable force. Along with new recruits being drilled vigorously. This helps route out the weak from the Red Army. - A massive rebuilding campaign in Russia and the Baltic states has begun. Millions of men, women and veterans returning from the fronts are now faced with a new war; the rebuilding of their societies. Millions of dollars is poured in to building new, modern, roads, bridges and buildings. Which gives the Soviet Economy a nice boost. - Machinery such as tractors and cranes are being transported to East Germany for reconstruction and economic needs. - The DDR ( Deutsche Demokratische Republik) is set up as a client state of the Soviet Union. Major arms deals are signed and the East Germans are sent thousands of Soviet weapons. Making them a capable fighting force. Millions of dollars are sent to the DDR, too. Rebuilding of Berlin and minor cities has begun. - Economic Aid is sent to Hungary, Soviet occupied Austria, Bulgaria and Romania. Much of this money disappears due to corruption. However some rebuilding begins. - A giant change is happening to the Soviet economy, it is now both a Command and a Market economy. Of course, this will be implemented in 10 years time. But this is to raise the wealth of the nation. Time will tell how it goes. Communist Held China - thelurker1234 Economy - Weak Military - Massive - With the Chinese Civil War once again in full swing, the Communist government say that for any family whos son is drafted, will gain land taken from the nationalist. - The Chinese request European investment. - The peasantry is promised that if they support the Communist cause, they will finally be able to eat. (See what I did there?). - Wilhelm Pieck and Otto Grotewohl are named the leaders of East Germany. Spain - Karishnikova Economy - Weak Military - Weak - Growing - The Spanish declare war on France, and invade Southern France along with British Gibraltar. The Spanish, who have been supplied with Soviet arms, manage to keep the fight up against the French. Who’s military is already weak. But, after a year and a half of deadly fighting, much of it has become a stalemate in Southern France. With Spanish troops repelled from Gibraltar, and the English blockading Spanish trade. - An attempt to bomb many historic French sites has failed. And the trucks carrying explosive have either been destroyed or uncovered. - All men who are between the ages of 18-25 are drafted into mandatory military service. This, along with a failing military campaign and lagging economy, has sparked a few riots in Madrid and Catalonia. Killing hundreds. - Spain declares that it is in an alliance with the USSR, and begin an embargo against the US and UK. This doesn’t make an effect on either of the two economies. - Industrial reforms are enacted. Some of this helps, however there are troubles in funding. The United States Of America - Crossu88 Economy - Massive/Booming Military - Giant - The US currently is beginning to draw down their forces from Europe. By 1952, hopefully, they'll all be out of Europe. However this is questioned as the recent hostilities between France and Spain that have erupted. - The US has begun a massive propaganda campaign in order to win support of the Japanese and Korean people. For the most part, many Koreans now align with the US. However, the Japanese, whom the US just won a war against, is still resentful to US authority. - The US declares support for a unified Germany that is under the banner of a Republic. However this is all to be sorted out after the reconstruction is finished, which won't be for awhile. Much of the French government opposes this however, as they believe Germany needs to be partitioned in to pieces. - Plans are made for an election in South Korea, and by November of 1947, the Korean people have spoken. They elect an pro-American anti-Communist president who goes by the name of Syngman Rhee. He calls on the US to arm the South Korean people to fend off any possible Communist attack. Along with South Korea, the US forces the Japanese government to undergo many pro-democratic and liberal reforms. Elections will begin for a new cabinet and PM in April. - The US, whose economy is booming and expanding rapidly, forms a plan for $17 billion dollars in AID to Europe. Dubbed the 'Marshal Plan', many destroyed nations will use this to fix their broken infrastructure and economic systems. - Sympathy for the German people is high in the US, and many social workers go to Germany to help rebuild and reintegrate the German society. The United Kingdom - Salricci Economy - Recovering Military - Fairly large. - The British military sees a large repositioning of its forces as most return to pre-war positions. This causes a few riots in English occupied Germany, however they all disperse after a few hours. - With money from the Marshall Plan, the English begin rebuilding its destroyed towns and damaged parts of London. - With the Spanish invasion of Gibraltar, England has found itself in a position for another costly war. However the strong defense of Gibraltar makes it very hard for Spanish troops to conquer it. The United States of South Africa - Native Hunter Economy - Growing, small. Military - Weak - South Africa orders a basic de-mobilization of its armed forces. However its National Guard will stay on alert as many tribes are unrestless and challenging the power of the government in Pretoria. However, by the end of 1947 much of the hostilities have ended and hundreds of tribal leaders are in prison or executed. - A large shipyard begins construction in Cape Town. This will be one of the biggest in Africa when completed sometime around 1953. A few South American nations have already contacted the ship builders with plans for trade and commercial cruise ships. - An alliance is formed between South Africa and the UK. The United Kingdom cedes Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, and Swaziland to the USSA. - The government of South Africa encourages foreign investment to American and European entrepreneurs. This is somewhat a success and a few venture capitalist take use of the low wages and little to no regulation in South Africa. By December of 1947, railroad lines and mines are being constructed around major population centers. - The South African government begins investing and granting subsidies to mines around the country. However this is at a local level for now. Along with this, segregated schools are abolished. And White and Black children will learn in the same room with each other. - Foreigners are encouraged to migrate to the USSA as jobs and food is in abundance, also the near royal treatment of whites is flaunted in the eyes of Europeans and Americans to encourage them to move to the region and begin businesses, families, and their own lives in the New Nation. By the end of the year, a few thousand Dutch, English, French and Americans have moved to South Africa. Bring along with them new ideas and medical practices. The Ethiopian Empire - Griffster26 Economy - Small. Military - Weak - Ethiopia, wary of the former occupation from Italy, begins to arm itself with French, American, British and German weaponry. Their armies are based off of British thinking and military tactics. This improves Ethiopias military by leaps, however, Ethiopias already ailing economy has created a deficit from buying weapons. Though, some of this is alleviated with the $500 million in AID the US has sent. - A request is filed with the US for aid. (No not AIDS). In order to rebuild the country. Along with requests to the British and French for Eritrea and Djibouti. All of which still sits on the table, except for the US. They say that their willing to give support in return for something of value. However they will not support the idea of Anti-Colonialism. $500 million is sent for various projects, nevertheless. - The King of Ethiopia declares the founding of the African Anti-Colonial society. This attracts a lot of support from separatist in European colonies. But is denounced by regional governors. - Like the USSR and many other countries, Ethiopia puts thousands to work trying to rebuild the country. Though the results aren't quite as pleasing. Hundreds die of disease and accidents on the job. As construction firms have no access to proper equipment. - The King changes the country in to a unitary parliamentary constitutional monarchy similar to the United Kingdom. A election is to be held on the 1st of January, 1947. Many people praise this as a symbol of greater representation. Send in turns as turn 2! Keep it under 10 lines !

Also I'm not giving kids their family's land, just the land of conquered nationalist territory.

Look at Franco's smug ass little smile
Franco hit his head and did a 180 I'm confused as to why my military is so weak though. The Spanish Army was built up during WWII in case it was needed for domestic defense and was supplied by the Germans...
During the time after WW2 there was actually a substantial call for communism in Europe caused by a particularly harsh winter and damaged economies. So I'd imagine that in an alternate world somewhere, Franco could have gone communist.
In the end it's still the player's decision on what they do with their nation. Like how I am unifying south Africa and forming a strong noble African state that will hopefully stand on equal grounds some day with European states
There is no alliance with the USSR, USSR gave Spain some arms because Spain promised to go commie. Spain alos promised to join my anti-communst European alliance, Eurocore. So basically he manipulated the USSR into giving him guns and is manipulating us into thinking we're at war with the USSR.

Man, whoever's doing the maps for this game, let me tell you something. Doing the slash-fill occupied territories thing is a lot easier than most people realize. If you have paint.net (which is free btw) just select the fill tool, set tolerance to 0%, set your first color as the occupying nation and the second color to the occupied nation, set fill pattern to wide upward slashes, and then click on the territories.
I use photoshop and just made a 200x200 pixel brush that's alternating 2px wide lines then I use the smart marquee tool to select the province(s) I want and just drop the brush on it with the occupying color.
Map issues: 1) What exactly is the huge green nation in east China? If that's supposed to be East Turkestan it's excessively large and not representative of reality. 2) Battlelines of Chinese civil war unrealistic and plain out incorrect 3) Territory of Tibet not accurate as far as I know 4) Gibraltar not the right color 5) Belgian congo's region borders are fucked up 6) North Yemen is independent during this period 7) Oman is independent during this time 8) Kuwait is nominally independent at this time, and it would be more accurate to consider it British rather than Iraq 9) Greek civil war? 10) Lower tip of Sweden is wrong color 11) Most of Europe and Africa doesn't have the weird water gradient thing 12) The border of North and South Korea as they are in the map are not established until after the war, at this time it's split straight at the parallel 13) Philippines became independent in 1946 14) Japan is nominally self-governing after the war, it's inaccurate to have it American-controlled while also having a single Germany not under allied control 15) Papau New Guinea is Australian controlled, not British 16) New Caledonia is French, not British 17) So did South Africa invade Portugese Africa or what? 18) Jordan was independent in 1946 19) North Vietnam exists at this point 20) West Papaue still controlled by Netherlands at this point 21) East Timor still Portuguese 22) Hong Kong, Macao, Goa? 23) Are these just no Ryukyus? 24) I'm pretty sure America never controlled half of the Bahamas didn't base it off of my maps 0/10
