Also added info regarding combat and intel for both new and veteran players alike.
Name: Karl "Bundy" Ekkehardt

Date of Birth/Age: July 1990 (Aged 53)
Nationality: German
Role: Trooper
Bio: Karl lived a relatively comfortable childhood, and got relatively good grades in school, but lusted for something much more exciting in his life. He joined the Bundeswehr soon after leaving school and served for about 15 years until mid-2025 when he was recommended for the KSK by his superior officer, a time he vividly remembers, as he does the impact of the Crystal. Once the true nature of the crystal was revealed, his unit in the KSK was stationed everywhere in Africa from the containment of "Ground Zero" to the Johannesburg Defense, and Karl was stationed in Tunis to prepare for an alien onslaught, but immediately signed on with Spearhead once he heard about them, as he would rather take the fight to the heart of the invaders, rather than fight more losing battles until his homeland, and eventually, the world, was lost.
He obviously got his nickname from the many years he served with the Bundeswehr. His age, however will be a problem going forward if this conflict continues for many more years.

Mission is a go!

It was a warm and sunny day in southern Germany. The birds were singing and the trees were whispering as a gentle wind passed through the rural area. Suddenly the peace was broken by the sound of engines coming from a nearby road.
The asphalt was still relatively fresh, only a few weeks old in fact. Seven vehicles became visible, two jeeps and five trucks. All military in nature and marked with the signature blue globe which was the emblem of the United Earth Alliance.
Despite the winding nature of the road the convoy traversed it with ease. Soon the vehicles passed by a white and blue sign marked "Military Zone! Restricted Area - UEA Installation - Violators will be shot!".
Unaffected by the sign the vehicles continued, after traversing through the forest for another fivehundred meters they reached their destination: a walled UEA facility codenamed Spearbase.
Surrounded by ten meter high concrete walls with a watchtower in each of the four corners the base gave off a highly strict and unnerving vibe as if whatever was inside was not meant for the common people.
Following the orders from the checkpoint staff at the entrance the vehicles all grinded to a halt but quickly resumed their driving after a quick exchange of papers.
"Open up!" Yelled the captain, a average-sized man with a stern face. He was clad in the standard-issue hex camo fatigues which was worn by all soldiers of the UEA. A man sitting in a small booth to the right of the gate nodded and in response the thick titanium steel gate was slowly lowered down into the ground.
The convoy procceeded in towards the base and passed by numerous barracks, storage buildings and vehicle depots.
As they reached the airfield the two jeeps broke off and parked next to a hangar while the trucks continued on. The soldiers in the back of the truck peeked out curiously as a V-50 Super Osprey landed at a nearby landing zone. As it touched down a stream of soldiers exited and jogged towards the barracks.
Finally the trucks reached a white concrete building with a sign saying "Spearhead Operations". They lined up and stopped, followed by having all five squad leaders hop out from the front passenger seat and open up the rear hatch.
Soon five groups of people, some in military uniforms and some without, were chatting loudly with eachother. A open top jeep suddenly appeared around the corner and stopped infront of the group of recruits.
Two soldiers clad in uniforms and berets stepped out. One of them wore some black aviators, preventing anyone from seeing what direction he was looking at.
"Officer on deck!" Yelled the soldier which had been driving. Immeadiately the squads formed up and snapped into a synchronized salute.
"At ease." Said the officer whom had a angry look on his face. He removed his aviators and tucked them in neatly into one of his chest pockets. "My name is Cal Hayes." Said the man with a heavy british accent. "But to you-" He pointed at the group as he took a step forward "- I am either Lieutenant Major or Sir, is that clear?"
"Yes, sir!" Replied the squads in unison.
The Lt. Major nodded approvingly with a grin on his face. "Now, I am here to teach maggots how to win. As you all know, you're here to carry out one mission: eliminate the crystalite bugs once and for all."
He walked infront of them, studying each face carefully.
"Before I do that, there are some rules; One, as long as you are here you will never finish a sentence without the word "sir". Two, you will follow every single order that comes out of my mouth. If you don't I'll have you run three laps around the base with a backpack full of tank munitions. Three, as long as you are under my command you are all rookies. I don't care if you are some kind of vodoo doctor or war hero; in my eyes you are all green untill proven otherwise."
He halted right infront of Vasil and Karl. "Questions?" He asked loudly as saliva flew out of his mouth and onto their uniforms.
Time to play.
Cali stands in her spot on the line perfectly ship-shape with just the right amount of "steely-eyed scalpel wielder" on her face. She doesn't have any questions she cares to ask verbally, instead opting to wait and see how the system works here.
The aviator wearing loudmouth she wasn't expecting, but then she did just join an entirely new outfit. Retraining was to be expected.
With nothing to vocalize, she instead covertly focuses on the man with the aviators to gauge his age, ethnicity, and national origin.
Vasil stood still and quiet, waiting for the Lt. Major to finish. He was used to the loud yelling by now. He preferred not to ask any questions and remained silent.
Eric kept his mouth shut. Most of the people here had already been through a lot, he didn't like seeing them talked to like that.
William stood dutifully at the end of the line, feeling distinctly out of place among the burly, gun-toting soldiers that were apparently his new comrades. The closest thing to a uniform he had was a pistol belt, in which a gun was holstered and hanging heavily against his leg, and a badge with 'Q' enamelled into the gold backing. He kept his eyes blank and unflinching - a technique for avoiding attention he had learned at school - and tried to allow as little emotion to show on his unshaven face as he could by running through equations in his head. He had just reached the 68th number of the 8 times table when the loud, harsh voice stopped; expecting something interesting to happen, he looked down the line quizzically and then raised his hand.
"Actually, uh, sir, yes." His voice was heavily accented and timid, not entirely used to speaking English. "'Ow long do we 'ave before we are expected to go into action?"
Still staring at Vasil and Karl, Lt. Major Hayes began grinning.
His head snapped to William, locking onto it like a missile as he marched towards him.
"Rookies!" He shouted while staring at William. "Looks like you all have to step up your game because this man right here got more balls than the rest of you combined!"
He began laughing. "Now, to answer your question rookie: you will go into action as soon as you're ready." He looked at the others.
"Now drop down and give me twenty, all of you!"
Karl drops down and does what he's told, although grumbling slightly.
After his twenty, he gets up, and says, rather sternly, "With all due respect, sir, I've been ready to drive these bug bastards back into the stars for seventeen years, and send their hellish crystal back with them."
Out of the line up of various soldiers and operatives, none particular stood out as Aida did when other we're standing dressed in whatever military fatigues while Aida stood silent among the line equipped in an full uniform minus any bulky exo-armor or weapons except for her signature shark teeth painted helmet and large black heat shield mounted in front of her visor.
While the others stood in upright pose against their commander, Aida simply stood with an causal stance while he yell and barked orders at the team. Aida begin to put her hands in her pockets to grab two miscellaneous items from them.
Taking out both an lighter and an cigarette, lighting it while he turned to the rest of the team after yelling something or other to french man.
Aida put it under the mask shortly before letting an small puff of smoke in the general direction of her superior officer, rising her head to him when he looked towards the rest of them after barking whatever inspiring or threatening rabble written beforehand this morning.
The heavy proceed to looks towards him with an uninterested look, head tilted to the left side while the cigarette slowly burned to right of her helmet.
Flipping open the heat shield to get an better look at Major as she gesture with the lighter in the right hand towards him.
"Need a light?"
Vasil got up after doing his twenty. He looked around at his future comrades and turned to the Major. "Sorry to interrupt sir, but it seems that the standard dropping down for twenty is having varied results."
Nick was transported from whatever to this place. His eyes were foggy while the commanding officer of this place yelled the typical psychological words of encouragement. He turned to the guy who did twenty push ups and raised an eyebrow after finishing
Cali performs the twenty pushups quickly and efficiently. She finishes a second before the rest and returns to her former stance. Though this time she does have something to say.
"Sir, I presume we'll be ready to go into action when we're done retraining. If that is the case, then what will we be doing, sir?"
Her question asked, she waits for the inevitable loudly delivered and painfully clear answer. Still, she wonders what the point of this is? Shit-testing? The applicants to the program already have excellent service records if the stated requirements were anything to go by. She'd accrued no less than six recommendations from past squad leaders and commanding officers.
"That's the spirit." Replied Hayes to Karl, before turning to Vasil. "Well why don't you help them out by doing another five then?"
He moved on and stopped infront of Aida and Nick, both of which remained in their original positions
"Need a light?"
The major's eyebrows formed a near perfect V as he was about to bark some more on them
Before he was able to the other soldier which had accompanied him snapped into a salute.
"General on deck!" Lt. Major Hayes snapped into a salute as well as a uniformed man in his fifties approached.
It was impossible to see what he was thinking as his face remained neutral.
He waved with his hand. "At ease."
The general adjusted his beret and stopped next to the officers. "I'll take it from here Hayes, dismissed."
Both officers nodded and went inside the building. The general remained silent untill they both went through the entrance.
His face cracked up into a fatherly smile.
"You'll have to excuse Hayes, I'm afraid his temper is the result of fighting crystalites headfirst for seventeen years."
He did a gesture with his arms.
"Regardless, welcome to Project Spearhead. It is good to see you all. I am General Alexander Deveraux and I have been assigned to oversee this mission."
He motioned towards the building. "Now please, follow me so we can get started with the briefing."
Zachary stood there with the biggest shit eating grin on his face as he followed the group.
"So when are we going to get to kill stuff like the good old days? Get those big guns blazing into those crystal thingies."
Ever the interesting puzzle, it would seem that the command hierarchy here is either split or entirely unorganized. One moment drills, the next a laid-back general. Cali follows the General's instruction and goes into the building with her compatriots.
Following his compatriots into the building, Selous tucks his grandfather's ratty old beret into his back pocket.
"I appreciate your enthusiasm." Said the general to Zachary. "But I can assure you that the briefing is of crucial importance for the success of the mission "
Cali, ever the bright one asks a question: "Sir, is it safe to assume that new information has come to light about the enemy? Or perhaps that we've devised a new strategy?"
The doors to the building slid open silently. Two guards immeadiately saluted, to which Deveraux waved for them to stand down.
"You're right on both counts, miss Chu."
Joyce pressed a putton to make the visor of her helmet slide up. Her face was formed into a slight frown, she spoke up with a thick australian accdnt "With all due respecth, sir. I didn't get payed to come here to play bootcamp."
After the ache in his legs subsided, William ambled along behind the rest of the unit toward the headquarters, still rather enamoured with the whole military life he was now part of. Nevertheless, he kept a bit of distance from his fellows, feeling more than a little self conscious as he wandered through this new world without fully understanding any of it.
"So, sir does this briefing involve anything else than the enemy, like dress code, weaponry and all that?" Nick asked with confusion, stratching his head following the group in the back. The building was at least impressive to give a warm welcome.
"You will be briefed on everything you need to know, soldier." Said the general as he swiped a keycard infront of door panel.
The doors opened up and revealed a large circular room.
On the other side of the room was another doorway, at the center of the room was a large blue hologram of Earth.
One side of the room was occupied by five groups of seats with built-in desks. On each desk laid a military UEA tablet labeled with the name of their respective owner.
At the front of each group of seats were a sign marked with the name of all of the five Spearhead squads.
At the opposite side of the seats and desks was a large table in the shape of a arc with five chairs inbetween.
When the group entered Deveraux motioned for the soldiers to sit down while he himself sat down at the center of arc-shaped table.
Two guards stood proudly behind him
Donovan shuffles into the nearest seat, with a feeling a dread about the upcoming mission. He can only hope that the upcoming training can leave him better prepared for what is ahead. He pulls his head up looks to general's table.
Karl walks into the room and seats himself, leaning back, "Sir, what exactly has been stopping us for seventeen years from giving the crystal a good blast of rocket-propelled uranium?"
