"Lt.Major, I'd like to 'ave a peek at the Gazelles if you could kindly point me to the garage." Joyce said.
"I'd also like to the engineer folks with me"
Slinging the commincation equipment over his back, Selous scours the armory for something reliable, something in 7.62x51mm nato, and something quintessentially bush. Settling on a modern reproduction of the FN Fal, he also grabs a medkit, grenades, spare ammo, and the miscellaneous necessities he'll need strapped to his exoskeleton.
"I'll be joining you in the garage Sergeant Flynn. But first I have to report to the glasshouse to learn what tools we have at our disposal."
"The Cube, huh? I presumed that the last hope would atleast get some fancier names." Karl said, chuckling, grabbing himself a rifle and a sidearm and a couple mags for each. He then saunters over to the Cube. "This equipment better be good, I don't want to spend any more time in this place than I have to."

[Does that pistol have a grenade launcher?]
Hayes chuckled as Zachary turned into five year old boy before christmas eve. "Like I said, if you want it you can have it. Just make sure to notify the brass, a PM from the tablet will suffice."
He then turned to Joyce. "I'll show you once you've done the mandatory tour in the glasshouse."
Felix caught his attention as he geared up, retrieved his comms back from the cube and returned without as much as a word.
"I like your focus, soldier. Keep at it."
As Karl went inside the cube, he was greeted by a relatively dark room with a desk at the center. Along the walls were several racks of communications packages, like the one Felix/Selous retrieved, as well as equipment for the Spearhead squad leaders such as beacons, flares and the AI chip.
A large man sat behind the desk, he looked at Karl and the other squadleaders before pointing at the AI racks. "Chips are nametagged. You are authorized to carry one evac beacon, one airstrike beacon and six flares."
"Sweet." Said one of the other squad leaders.
Meanwhile Joyce, Vasil and the other combat engineers arrived at the glasshouse. One of the uniformed soldiers whom had a very distinctive goatee turned around to greet them.
"Welcome to the glasshouse, you can call me Lars. The purpose of this mandatory guide is to make sure you know how to keep your respective devices operational in the field."
He pointed towards the cubical space with windows on each side, inside it was a large black device.
"That thing right there is what you'll be defending. It's called the UEA Kinetic Shockwave Device Mk. 3 but we usually just refer to it as the KSD. Now, as the design is fairly simple it'll be easy for you to keep it in one piece.
Each squad's secondary Gazelle comes pre-modified with a slot, for holding the bomb, a small deployable ramp and some spare parts should it be needed. Now..."
Lars then went on explaining how the combat engineers should work when replacing parts and how to check its integrity using a handful of water and a program installed to their tablets.
"Alright!" Zachary exclaimed as he stepped up to the tablet "Hmm, what to put...Ah fuck it."
"Gimme 6 explosive shields that could attach to the sockets on my back. Just like the one I used in the good ol' days."
Attached to the PM was a picture of him taken when serving as a mercenary.

Karl picked up the chip, "Nice.". He also grabbed the flares and beacons, and walked out, to acquire any other equipment, like a couple frag grenades and some basic med gear, "Yeah, this'll do just fine."
He was ready for a good ole' bug hunt.
[I'm pretty sure it's either a mag or a flashlight. I'd go with flashlight since front-facing magazine is dumb as hell]
[It's a drum mag. :v:]
A technician in a nearby building scratched his head as he read Zachary's request which had been sent alongside the receipt for the recquisition of some blades.
He looked at his supervisor who gave him a thumbs up. "Recquisition will be ready in five hours."
Meanwhile Hayes looked at Karl and some of the other members of the other Spearhead units.
"Are you all ready?"
Cali picks up a caseless ammo carbine, a 10mm sidearm, two full medical packs as well as a full field kit. She selects for herself some appropriate body armor and pairs it with a light exo. The exo itself is a small modular model onto which she fits some thrusters and mechanical dynamos for charging batteries on the move. It's a light, mobile, and adaptable frame that can also bear most of the weight of her pack without compromising movement or agility.
Cali is the first person back out of the armory. Geared up, and ready for action.
Donovan was a bit overwhelmed by the large amount of high tech equipment available, but once he took a step back and cleared his mind a little, he went in to load up.
When he was finished, he doubled check what he picked up before loading himself up. The biggest thing he got was a heavy duty rail gun that was able to fire specialized shells that matched the potency of full size tank shell. His other weapons he picked out was some kind of revolver shotgun pistol and a light carbine. The other equipment he picked up are a rail mountable motion tracker, a emergency first aid kit, a pack of Lightweight Attack Munitions and a shoulder mountable floodlight. The exosuit he chosen was a heavy, loading bearing exo designed to carry the weight without as much loss of mobility as standard issue exoframes. The advance equipment he was given has gave him a temporary relief from the mission ahead, before he remembered the mission and shortly afterwards followed Cali out of the armory.
Eric looked over at Cali. "Looks like we've got similar taste." A's he picked out a carbine and light armor.
Joyce inspected the gazelle that was ment. For carrying the payload, "So, if worst comes to worst we can pillage the other one for parts to keep goin? Or can we load the fat boy into the other one aswell?" she said, while inspecting various parts on the gazelle.
Karl, armed in a heavier, but still lower down on the range, exo-armor combos, modified with an "Assisted-Targeting-System" to help analyze the threat of, and aim at any elusive enemies, but needs to recharge once used, answered, "I can't speak for the rest of them, but I'm ready, hell, I'm even kind of excited."
Cali responds to Eric: "Yeah chummer. Looks like we're the only lightweights though. Kinda sucks having to peel armor off a friendly to get at the wounds, wastes time and blood.
Good to see you're smarter though, I was worried I'd feel lonely on this assignment. It's tough being the only target that isn't easy to hit!"

[What gazelle? You're still in the armory dummy unless you went to the garage as soon as Lars was finished.]
The chief mechanic, called Lazer, nodded. "If the carrier vehicle gets incapacitated you cannuse the spare parts to construct a new mount for the bomb inside the secondary vehicle, yes."
He patted the nearby gazelle on one of its wheels. "Hopefully you won't need to as the armor on these has been specially made to resist crystalite claws and acid."
Lazer then pointed at the machinegun. "Besided, the beltfed HMG with a RPM factor of 250 is sure to keep anyone from attacking."
At the armory Hayes looked please as all the Spearhead soldiers geared up and returned to the armory entrance.
A uniformed soldier ran up to Vasil and handed him some explosive charges. "You and your friend forgot these."
Hayes nodded. "Let's go to the barracks, you got a few days to rest and familiarize yourself with the equipment before the mission."
"I'll handle these with care. Thank you, tavarish." Vasil took the charges from the soldier. Before he would meet up with Joyce, he had to pick out his gear. After some looking around, he found the appropriate light armor suit and carbine.
He exited the armory and went to find Joyce.
Eric smirked. "Besides, it seems like mobility would be key here."
(Is it too late to join?)
[No.]

[thanks, I'll work on my character tonight and join tomorrow around 5.00PM GMT if that's alright with you]
[Sorry I'm so late, had a few unexpected errands to run as well as homework for A level art. Anyway, here's my character. The image I'll post later as I'm drawing it myself]
Name: Alexander J Hazelthorn
Date of birth/age: Born 8th January 2006/37 years of age
Nationality: English (South West to be exact)
Role: Trooper
Bio: Alexander was born into an average family in a small village in Dorset, England. His father was an accountant who worked for a large firm in London; whilst his mother was a helicopter pilot in the RAF. Being an only child, Alexander's parents had a lot of time for him; sometimes his father would take him to see his mother at the airbase where she was stationed, Alexander often regarded these times as sacred as he didn't see much of his mother, who was a real hero to him. It was just after his sixteenth birthday, on a cold day in January, when something happened that would change him forever. Alexander's mother was home on leave for two months, she'd promised Alexander his father would be back that evening as he had to work late. It was when his father didn't return that Alexander grew anxious. The news hit harder than a straight punch to the face, Alexander's father had been killed in an explosion at his workplace. The cause was believed to have been a gas leak which spread to the floor his father was working on, all it would have taken was a single spark, a worker was believed to have lit a cigarette during the leak, the place went up in a matter of seconds. Through this atrocity Alexander became bitter, he blamed the world for his father's death. At the age of twenty-three he trained for the royal marines, and passed with flying colors. Alexander's CO always commented on his aggression, which he found slightly concerning. He thought Alexander had the potential to lash out uncontrollably, though it never happened. In the wake of the invasion Alexander was drafted into the UEA as a simple trooper, he was one of the first troops to use the new British assault rifle, the L31A1. One should note that Alexander is fiercely patriotic to Great Britain, so selection for use of this weapon felt like a position of honor to him, not to mention the new rifle performed brilliantly in the field. Alexander's selection for the UEA was solely based on his skill as a simple soldier and obedience to his superiors.
[I was planning on doing a mnor time skip to the day of deployment, if everyone is onboard with that?]
[time skip sounds good to me]
[a ok]
[good here]

Deployment Day
After spending nearly a week in base getting familiar with thier equipment and preparing themselves mentally, the time had come for Spearhead to depart. A officer had appeared at each of the five barracks housing the Spearhead units, each with orders to gear up. Spearhead One had been the first ones to the armory, having geared up within ten minutes. A newcomer, Alexander, had shown up a day after the original briefing. He had been dropped off by a jeep and given a quick summary of the briefing alongside his own tablet full of intel.
As all squads readied up inside the armory, Hayes watche dover them like a hawk, pitching in to help anyone who needed it alongside some of his trusty officers and a band of engineers.
"Let's go, soldiers." Said Hayes as he led them out of the building.
His attitude towards the Spearhead units had eased up after spenidng days overlooking their training. He still hadn't shared anything about himself aside from some tips here and there on how to survive a crystalite in close range.
He led the squads towards the airfield, each squad walking in two columns with their squad leaders taking point.
As they approached the airfield a large mass of uniformed UEA soldiers became visible: at least two hundred soldiers stood ready at the road leading up to the five landing pads where the Spearhead Super Ospreys were waiting. Divided into two groups, a hunred each, a small path was open between the rows of soldiers.
As Hayes approached he yelled "Spearhead departing!" to which the soldiers responded by saluting while looking towards the squads as they walked down the road towards the landing pads.
Hayes reached the end where he joined up with Deveraux and the other officers which had been present during the briefing, alongside his bodyguards.
The Spearhead groups formed up infront of him. The soldiers behind them turned forward.
"It is with both joy and sadness that I stand here today." Began Deveruax.
"While it marks the moments in history when we begin to fight back this vicious invader, it also marks the starting point for a tough journey which I would spare all of you from had we been able to afford it." He looked each and every face.
"You have been briefed, you have been equipped and you have our eyes upon you. Good luck Spearhead, all of you. Move fast and hit hard."
He looked at Karl and the other squad leaders. "Keep your teams united, work as one and you will win."
He then saluted, as did the rest of the officers. Three horns could be heard in the distance. "Go." Said Deveraux and nodded towards the aircraft behind him.
The squads then split up and boarded their respective transports.
Each super osprey was very spacious, with two rows of seats alongside the left- and right-handside walls with plenty of space at the center. Currently the center space was occupied by the two Gazelles, of which one was loaded with the KSD. A bearded man climbed down the cockpit ladder to greet the new passengers at the ramp. A empty vodka bottle crashed into the titanium floor as he made it down the ladder. He smiled and shook their hands.
"Nikolay Valkov, at your service. I'll be your pilot today, yes?" He chuckled. "Please, take a seat."
Ten minutes later they were in the air. The windows made it possible to see the base and the other transports, as the base became smaller the distance between the aircraft became larger as each squad had different landing zones.
Static could be heard as the onboard intercom came to life. "This is your pilot, thank you for flying with Valkov Air. We will arrive at first checkpoint in thirty minutes. In meantime you can sleep."
The intercom shut down, leaving a peaceful silence in the cargo compartment.
[time skip's alright with me, thanks for giving my character a bit of an introduction Viper, I would have started sooner but I had school and then a concert to go to, I'll try to keep up from now on]
It had been a tough couple of days for Alexander, he didn't suppose his superiors would be best pleased by his tardiness; not to mention missing the briefing the day before. He remembered the look on the UEA soldier's face as he disembarked from the jeep, it was a look of frustration despite the soldier's best efforts to look somewhat disinterested. On the upside, Alexander had been given a chance to use the L31A1, the assault rifle he currently favored over the rest. He cradled the weapon like a new born baby as he sat in silence with in the super Osprey's cargo compartment. Despite the everlasting feeling of possible impending doom, there was something tranquil about the silence that loomed over the cargo compartment like a gargantuan, black quilt. Alexander turned his head to face one of his team mates, of which he didn't know their name, he hadn't had time to introduce him self to his squad yet, "so, you uh...ready?" he asked quietly, trying not to wake anyone else.
"Well, we're on a VTOL being flown by a drunk pilot who may accidentally see the side of a building as our LZ to go on a mission which none of us are sure we'll survive against highly overwhelming odds. I'd say I'm fairly ready." Karl answered, hoping to stir some conversation among his squad he may well spend his last days with.
"You're the new guy, right? Name's Karl. I, if you didn't know, am the king of shit mountain on this little Safari of ours." Karl leaned back. "Enjoy the ride, kid. It'll go to all hell soon enough.
Joyce stood leaning with her arm on her knee which was lifted up onto the bench, with her other hand in her belt she looked out through the window. Desert landscapes and dust flying reminded her of home.
She straightened herself up and looked over at Vasil, "Oya,Trodsky, you put faith in your country man in tha cockpit therah? Cause if I 'ave my say, that bloke ain't fit to operate 'eavy machinery"
She took a quick glance over her shoulder to the back of one of the gazelles and looked back to Vasil, "especially with fat man's big brotha 'ere" she finished while pointing to the bomb with her thumb.
"Sometimes we have to learn to trust our comrades, perhaps the Russian enjoys the odd bottle of vodka on the job er'y now 'n' then, but that certainly doesn't diminish him as an ally", Alexander turned to Karl, "in all fairness to 'im...he 'asn't fucked up yet". Alexander took some time to ponder over Karl's response to his previous question, "Sorry if I seemed a little rude there, it's nice to meet you Karl, I'm Alexander, Alexander James Hazelthorn, former Royal Marine". Alexander held out a friendly hand, it was then he realized who he was speaking to, his squad leader, "Oh, terribly sorry sir, I 'adn't realized you're squad leader, I'll try not to use your first name from now on" he said apologetically.
