Project Spearhead RP: Humanity's last stand against a relentless invader...

Zachary took a deep breath of that African air as the Gazelle moved on the dirt road.
"Ahhh, smells like old times."
It's been about 20 years since he last step foot on the continent, most of the time spent there were either helping one faction against another in a typical African nation's civil war or inciting a civil war so that there would be a market for PMCs. He was glad to see that the continent is still the undeveloped unstable third world shithole he know and love, the perfect breeding ground to rile up some extremist and start another civil war so that PMCs will be in demand as usual. But now, he's just here going to kill some crystal fucks.
As the gazelles slowly made their way towards the unnamed town the sandy trail leading down from the hill transformed into a hardened, more refined, dirt road which split up into two sectons.
The road led straight towards the town center and beyond, connected to the highway in the distance.
"Alert, we're now within crystalite echolocation range." Remarked Merlin as the command gazelle passed the first of hundreds of small shacks and shanties.
Heavily worn out, each shack barely had any color on their respective walls made out of scraps.
The gazelles soon passed a destroyed armored car in the white colors of the now disbanded United Nations.
Several skeletal remains surrounded the vehicle which looked like it had been torn open by some alarmingly large claws and teeth.
One of the skeletons was leaning towards some sandbags while giving Vasil a horrifying stare devoid of emotions.
Karl looked out over the desolate town. "Mein Gott. Let's get out of here as fast as possible."
"What are you looking at?" Vasil thought to himself as he saw the skeleton.
"So 'ow long do you think they've been 'ere?" Alexander asked, glancing at another skeleton, the dusty blue helmet barely staying on it's skull.
Cali shrugs and checks the bones out. She's studying the remains to get a feel for how best to help her squadmates in case they get unlucky. "A long time now by our standards. It takes a little while for flesh to completely decomopose.."
"UEA IFF signatures detected. They're very faint." Said Merlin as the gazelles entered the market square.
What had once been a square full of tents, kiosks and the like was now full of craters, rubble and blown up cars and sheds.
At the very center of the square was the crashed UEA Osprey, surrounded by sandbags, scrap plating and other pieces of salvage meant to form extra cover around the aircraft.
The two miniguns on the sidedoors were pointed downwards as nobody was operating them.
At the rear the ramp was deployed and a faint blue light could be seen reflecting on the walls.
Hundreds of shell casings laid on the ground around the osprey and on the ramp.
"s'like a bleedin' junkyard" Alexander remarked.
[What's happened to all the action? it's like the thread is slowly dying, which would be a real shame]
Karl sighed. "I know I'm going to regret this." He picked up his intercom. "Let's halt here. I want Firebug and Sunset to do a quick sweep of the chopper. You find nothing, then we move on. You find something, report in and I'll decide what we do from there."
"You think we'll have any space for survivors sir?"
"We don't have space. All I want to know is if they have any info on them. Too risky for Vodka Airlines to extract them either. Cruel, but hopefully their sacrifice could help us avoid their mistakes."
"Very good sir, do you mind if I cycle through some local radio stations? The town may have something resembling a signal...hopefully" Alexander looked down at the dashboard radio with the frequencies digitally displayed on the rectangular LCD screen.

[right, I'm off to bed now, so I'll see you guys later]
If they can't get extraction, maybe we can at least get them out of a tight spot, send them on their way to friendly territory."
[Let me try and get some life in here.]
"I'm not sure if that is better, comrade. Lots of military bases and installations were abandoned in a hurry before the bugs could reach them. If they haven't eaten whatever was there, the survivors would have to deal with barely functional equipment. If the barren wastes don't finish them off, before that."
[Are people still interested in this? Right now it feels like I need to slightly force some initiative. Let me hear your honest thoughts.]
[Like Pez said in the other thread, having 2 sci fi RPs run at the same time clashes a bit.
Also, with this being only modern sci fi (only humans into the future) limits the creativity.
That said, I'd personally be more interested in a fantasy RP, seeing as we already have SSC to fill the sci fi gap]
[If more people agree with what you just said than I think we'll put this on a indefinite halt.]
(just wait until the other rp is done)
[so that's it then? this RP is dead?]
"Not dead, on hiatus"
[*wipes forehead*]
