But yeah, we weren't expecting this many people so if this amount keeps up, we may cancel the persistence test tomorrow, performance on the server is slowly degrading, so we don't want to make the server run at a snail's pace by turning on persistence, especially in its buggy state.

First of all you didn't actually read what I said. If you're dead, we don't care. I know there's a false rumour that you can't loot a body if the person who is dead has logged out. This is not the case, the looting system on bodies is just bugged.
This is about logging out in the middle/right after a firefight - while still alive.
