This was in victormeriqui's client Herpes, without arrows, when you could hit your own player with client modifications. It was simply used for longer jumps, back then you could fake increased knockback too, so the distance was modifiable, allowing you to travel much faster too (but it was buggy this way and a fair bit of rubber banding if used over and over). I've kind of only just realized this is how it was done after seeing this video.
Nice to see this way works though, haven't worked out an easy way to do it in quite a while since self-harming in Minecraft was prevented, so props for that. Sadly with things like this, velocity needs to be enabled, I always removed velocity when I played.

2 years ago, at 27th april, a made a propose to make a base for those who based together during 2b2t Test Map. The next day, Valkyria was founded.
Today, that base completes two years, sadly, not of physical existence, but of spiritual one. Many have tried to destroy it. And some even managed to do so.
But Valkyria can't be destroyed, because its not on the blocks.
Valkyria can't be stolen, because its not bound to a item.
It cant be killed, because its not hold by a single person.
Valkyria is nothing... And everything.
It is a feeling. Its an idea. An idea created, shared and spread by players.
Its the proof that even in anarchy, beautiful things can be created, communities can be born and grow, and the walls of fear that separates players from each other can be climbed and even removed.
And even after all these two years, Valkyria was never really gone. It just changed names...
Belegost... Rhadamantis... Valhalla... Asgard... Gape... Nova... Shenandoah... Fenrir... Asgard II.
Today I celebrate this date, but I know I am not alone.
