Alright that's five turns then Luckily nobody joined the crusade or did anything interesting so I can mostly just copypaste from Wiki
I still hve to get my turn in
Hey so for some reason I wrote this
-Invasion of Orkney: -1092, following to surrender of Cumbria to William II of England, King of Scots Malcolm III begins planning a war to his north. “For too long”, he is heard to say, Norse savages have squatted on Scottish land. They must be driven out, by words or by steel, whichever comes first.” As such, King Malcolm sends word to his vassals. “Bring your spears”, he tells them, “bring your horses and bring your maille, for Scotland goes to war!” Over the summer an army gathers at Scone, five thousand strong at least, made up of stout men from the Lowlands, sprinkled with hearty fighters from the Highlands and savages from Strathclyde. They march north in late August, following the coast towards Caithness and the Island of Orkney. While passing through Moray, where Malcolm expected to find three hundred men waiting to join his army, he instead finds a ravaged wasteland. It would appear that King Olaf III of Norway, though widely known as a peaceable man ill inclined to war, has either led or sent an army to northern Scotland, intent on stopping Malcolm III and his war of conquest. Malcolm comes face to face with the Norwegian host when he arrives at Inverness, finding the town surrounded by Norsemen and the people inside starving daily. Scouts make the Norwegian army out to be at least thirty-five hundred strong, and they warn there could be more hidden in the hills. Malcolm, favouring caution, decides to wait for his full strength to gather before marching into what could be a trap. The next day, September 12th, 1092, Malcolm leads his men towards the town. The Norwegians make a shieldwall facing the Scots, spread across several pastures, with a copse of trees on one flank and a tributary stream on the other. Though the Scots outnumber them, they are being funneled into a small space that favours the Norsemen. Malcolm dismounts his horse and makes his own battle line, though it is no proper shieldwall, the two-handed spears many Lowlanders favour prevent that. The handful of archers on either side pepper their enemies with arrows and darts, and in the rear ranks spear-throwers stand ready to weigh down enemy shields. Malcolm begins the advance, and breaks into a run not far from the Norwegian line. Where the King is, at the very centre, the fightin is fiercest. Deeds to keep a thousand poets fed are done, and scores of heroes fall on either side. Eventually, after many long hours, Malcolm breaks through the Norwegian line, and the Strathclyde savages pour into the gap. The shieldwall dissolves, and men flee for the fleet of ships lying beached on the west side of Inverness. The Scots persue, the Highlanders particularly overtaking the Norwegians, most of whom are weighed down by heavy maille and large shields, neither of which the Highland men bother with. It is only when the Earl of Orkney, Sigurd Magnusson, gathers enough men to form a rearguard, do the Scots pause and take notice of just what is happening. A second army boils over a nearby hilltop, a thousand strong at least, and at its head is Olaf III of Norway, crowned in gold, decorated in silver, surrounded by scores of fierce Norsemen and landless Saxons. Atop a fiery red horse, King Olaf spurs his horse and descends on the Scottish left. Prince Duncan, son of the King, is killed by Olaf in single combat, and the left shatters. Malcolm calls for his horse, and the horses of his bodyguard, and rides to meet Olaf of Norway. In a pasture stinking of death and shit, two golden Kings fight. Around them their grim household warriors make widows and orphans enough to last a hundred years, or so they later claim, but in truth the entire battle, if not the war, depends on the Kings. Malcolm, wounded by a spear in the breaking of the Norwegian shieldwall, is knocked to the ground, rolling into a flooded ditch to avoid Olaf’s chopping waraxe. All seems lost, and even the household warriors of the Scottish King being to flee, when Malcolm leaps from the ditch, sword in hand, and unleashes a fury upon the King of Norway. Olaf is forced back, step by step, bleeding from a dozen cuts, when Malcolm’s sword strikes like a serpent, flicking into the space beneath Olaf’s eye-guard, piercing bone and tickling brain. Olaf gurgles and falls, and shortly thereafter his banner-bearer is cut down by a dozen Scottish swords. His army flees, and those survivors waiting at the ships tremble. But instead of being rushed by blood-crazed Scots, they are approached by a priest, wearing mail and carrying a reddened axe. He convinces Earl Sigurd of Orkney to surrender, convinces him the battles is lost. Behind him, Scottish horsemen pound after the fleeing men of Olaf’s bodyguard, spearing them as they cower in hedges and ditches. Olaf’s successor Magnus, learning of his father’s death and his armies scattering, writes Malcolm, offering him peace. Though there has only been one battle, and there is much land to secure, Magnus recognizes the war is lost. Two thousand Norwegians died outside Inverness, and scores of lords were captured. The entire fleet was burned, and the body of Olaf III was strung from a gibbet, while his captured women were whored in sight of his corpse. Malcolm accepts, and leaves the subjugation of Orkney and Caithness to his brother Donald, returning to Scone to mourn his fallen son. The Norwegian lords of Caithness, however, resist the call for peace and fight on, drawing the Scots into a series of sharp skirmishes. They are able to resist for two years, before the last of their secret halls is burned and they are slaughtered, almost to a man, by warriors disguised as monks. By 1094, Caithness and Orkney have Scots lords, subservient to the King.
Enjoy (Or not) while I finish turn 1 I guess

PLAYER TURNS Sobotnik: Faction: Suomen heimot Ruler - Valta Vihavaino Dynasty - Vihavaino (house of) Religion - Suomenusko Domestic Affairs: -Sell charters to allow fishing villages and towns to hold markets, and permit other chiefs under me to set up trade in return for a small share of the proceeds. We are to encourage them to become more busy in trade, seeing that we are in a prime position to become middlemen of the Baltic. We can acquire furs up north and send them south for big bucks, along with amber and other necessities. -Introduce the title of "Keeper of the Wardrobe". This man is appointed to manage the finances of the chief, accompanying Valta on his travels, collecting and disbursing revenue for Valta's daily needs. He must be literate, and record down these transactions in careful records. The information will be of extensive benefit to the court. The HRE promised some, but we can get from other places if we do not get some. -Begin reforming the Finnish religion slightly. We are to introduce a court holy man, who is seen as a spiritual and holy man for leading his community. Funeral, marriage, etc is to be brought together. We are to also introduce a syllabic alphabet (where one letter represents one sound)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cherokee_syllabary (like that) and begin the task of encouraging all texts to be written in this system. Start to write down common threads of Finnish religious belief and reconcile differences between them as well. -Translate the bible into Finnish syllabary, and then begin cunningly taking sections out of it (on philosophy, aseops, stories, etc) and putting it into a bigger book as a means of creating a whole new text in combination with the native Finnish faith. It is essentially going to be the foundation of the Finnish religion. -Finally, begin cutting short canals and diverting streams throughout the Finnish lakes. Their number and proximity is an unexploited potential. By connecting them up, we can head deep inland in boats and heavily encourage trade and travel. This should be done in steps, and during the winter, we can use sleds instead. Additionally, by diverting and damming streams, we can drain and flood particular areas, reclaiming land for agriculture and creating canals for use. Finally, we should encourage Vikings and Finnish natives to travel along these lakes into underpopulated areas to go fur trapping, hunting, and farming, with the lakes providing a vital lifelink to trade and warmer areas. Foreign Affairs: -Employ several Norse and Novgorodian scholars. They are employed to manage the realm and conduct diplomacy on our behalf. Most importantly, they are to keep relations with Sweden and Novgorod good, and acting as middlemen in trade. We are to also send emissaries to the pope and to the orthodox patriarchs along with the Muslims. We are to ask all of them "which religion do we follow?". When they send gifts and concessions to influence or encourage us, we are to give these gifts to various political supporters (or foreigners) to buy loyalty. -Among the other Finnish chiefs, we are to marry off our children to them, and use the gifts from the Muslims/Christians to show our wealth and preeminence. Using our cultured and learned scholars from far off, we can encourage them into familial unions, and eventual political union. To support this, we will give them charters to set up markets and a share of profits from our trade with the Norse and Novgorod. -Encourage Jews to immigrate here, and allow them freedom from persecution (Finnish Paganism is p tolerant). Military Action: -Raise levies whenever rebellious sorts come about, or foreign raiders and invaders. Focus on training a personal guard of light cavalrymen, whose main asset is speed. By riding swiftly, they can come to the aid of those being raided quickly. They are to use lances and compound bows, and be able to set ambushes as well. - Military strategy and tactics will consist largely of semi-guerillla warfare. Soldiers are to move quietly through the forests and use the frozen lakes/canals as highways during winter (like the mongols did). We are to avoid direct fighting when possible, preferring raids and attacking areas which may have supplies. We are to encourage this by pardoning outlaws if they join us (much like Medieval England did), and using them to track down former outlaws or assist in campaigns. - No hostile expansion, save for when a chief contests our inheritance, or we are threatened by matters such as invasion, raiding, or the such. [Green]: Faction - Kargaus Ruler - Elder/Warrior Sotamielj' Dynasty - House of Sotamielj Religion - Paltir Domestic Affairs: -A steep bank of earth, topped with a stout palisade, is built around the main town. -The Chief sets his best huntsman to finding new and better ways to trap animals. There is limited success, but most people prefer their traditional methods Jrose14: Faction - Kingdom of Denmark Ruler - King Sweyn Dynasty - House of Estriden Religion - Roman Catholicism Domestic Affairs: -King Sweyn summons his jarls and lords to a feast, during which he asks each one personally how many good warriors and levied peasants they can take to war, if need be. To encourage them to bring healthy contributions, Sweyn promises land grants based on the amount of warriors and ships brought when summoned. The poorer lords resent that they are barred from expanding their lands before the already powerful lords, though, and a handful walk out of the feast angrily. Foreign Affairs: -Traders and wanderer a are given silver by men of King Sweyn's household to travel through the lands bordering Denmark to the south. The traders ask guards and watchmen the sizes of the local garrisons, while minstrels and preachers travel to the noble courts and wheedle out figures for how many knights, sergeants, and levies the border lords can summon. Several are caught, however, and word reaches several ducal courts of the shadowy actions of the Danish king. Military: -King Sweyn asks, and sometimes commands, his vassals along the Imperial border to raise more house-warriors, send out more patrols, and build more forts and castles, to prevent against any excursion by the land-hungry dukes of northern Germany. Damian0358: Faction - Raška Dynasty - Vukanović dynasty Ruler - Vukan I Vukanović State religion - Orthodox Christianity Copypaste: - In 1083, Constantine Bodin, Emperor of Bulgaria, appoints Vukan to the supreme rule of "Rascia", while Vukan's brother Marko administrated a part of the land. - A Byzantine campaign was launched against Duklja between 1089 and 1091, possibly managing to take Bodin captive for a second time. Civil war broke out in the realm among Bodin's relatives, greatly weakening Duklja, giving the chance for Rascia to assert itself and break away. - In 1091 or 1092, Vukan became independent, taking the title of Grand Prince of Serbia. In about 1090, Vukan began raiding Byzantine territory, first in the vicinity of Kosovo. Initially the Byzantines were unable to take steps against Vukan, as they faced a serious threat in the invading Pechenegs. On 29 April, 1091, the Byzantines destroyed the Pecheneg force. With the defeat of the Pechenegs, Alexios I Komnenos could now turn to the Serbs. - Alexios I first sent an army with the strategos of Durazzo, which was defeated by Vukan in 1092. The Emperor now mobilized a much larger army, led by himself, marching onto Rascia. Vukan sends envoys, seeking peace which Alexios I quickly accepted, as a new problem had arisen at home in the Cumans who plundered the lands as far as Adrianople. Immediately after the Emperor's departure, Vukan breaks the treaty, and began to expand along the Vardar, obtaining much booty and taking the cities of Vranje, Skopje and Tetovo. In 1094 or 1095, Alexios I marched out to meet the Serbs. Vukan and his dukes arrive at the Emperor's tent and offer peace, with his own son Uros I as hostage. - At this time, Rascia was independent – Vukan acted entirely on his own, no longer a vassal of Duklja. Duklja, because of its civil war, did not involve itself in the Rascian-Byzantine wars. Vukan again marched south, into Macedonia. Alexios could not do anything about him as the Crusade took place. In 1106 Vukan submitted to Alexios. Elfy: Faction - Kingdom of Scotland Dynasty - House of Dunkeld Ruler - Malcolm III Religion - Roman Catholicism Domestic Affairs: -Taxes on the wealthy lords are raised to pay for the short war with Norway, and they are never really lowered. Foreign Affairs: -War with Norway William II of England demands Cumbria be yielded to him, and as a result of the losses incurred from the Norwegian war, King Malcolm assents and grants Cumbria to the English. Military: -An army commanded by King Malcolm III marches north, intent on conquering Caithness and Orkney from the Norwegians. At Inverness they encounter a Norwegian army besieging the town, and meet it in battle. After break the Norwegian shieldwall, a second army commanded by Olaf III of Norway appears, and engages the Scots. King Malcolm kills King Olaf in single combat, and the day is won by the Scots. Though the war had only just begun, Olaf’s successor Magnus Barefoot sent Malcolm an offer of peace, which he accepted eagerly. Orkney and Caithness are annexed to the Kingdom of Scotland, and Scots lords are put in charge of those lands. -King Malcolm later joins the crusade for the Holy Land, departing Scotland in 1096, and joining forces with a fleet of English and Danish crusaders to storm to Levantine port of Saint Symeon, not far from Antioch. Malcolm is wounded in the storming of Jerusalem, however, and upon his return begins to share power with his son and heir Edward. Pezgod1: Faction - Tribe of Obotrites Dynasty - Wizlawid Ruler - Krutoj Wizlawid Religion - Slavic Paganism Domestic Affairs: -Increasing amounts of preachers from Saxony enter Obotrite land, in an effort to convert the pagan holdouts. Though most go unnoticed, some are brought to the attention of the High Chief. He allows them to preach their gospel, for now at least. Foreign Affairs: -Envoys, clad in traditional Obotrites garb, have been sent to the courts of Denmark and of the Holy Roman Emperor's, to facilitate better and quicker diplomatic communication between the separate realms, and as a sign of friendship. Military: -The military is going through a slight reform, with the Obotrites beginning to place traditional emphasis on the usage of Horses within the army, specifically relating to the shock tactic. These well-trained warriors are considered the best in the army, and will only get better with time. Copypaste: -A 55 year old, Krutoj Wizlawid does not have much time left on this Earth. His line is secured however, with a single underage son, Wartislaw. Wartislaw is truely a warrior king in the making; brave, proud and ambitious, and being trained by a man skilled in tactics. It is with hope that in the future, Wartislaw can subjagate the Pomeranians to the East of the tribe, and declare himself a High King. -The language of the Obotrites is beginning to diversify, from the Pomeranian language into a unique dialect. While nothing special now, a future generation may speak a completely unique language in itself. Mackalda2k6: Faction - Most Serene Republic of Venice Dynasty - House of Faliero Ruler - Doge Vitale Faliero Religion - Roman Catholicism Domestic affairs: -Levy customs duties on goods being shipped in or out of the city. -Establish a court system that is divided between civil and criminal disputes and expand a uniform code of laws. -Create a system that allows wealthy merchants to sit in government positions in exchange for complacency with paying duties on goods. Military: -Create a new fleet of ships built solely for war. Build their crews from experienced sailors. -Raise a small army of mercenaries to serve as the city watch. -Negotiate with every major trade house in Venice to send their ships along with the naval fleet on the Crusades with the HRE, providing a line of supplies and transport. External affairs: -Send merchant fleets throughout the Mediterranean and encourage merchants to find ways to keep supply lines open with the Orient despite the ongoing Crusades. -Send lavish gifts to the Pope and Byzantine Emperor. Native Hunter: Dynasty: Targaryen Faction: Holy Roman Empire Ruler: Emperor(Kaiser) Daye Targaryen I State Religion: Roman Catholicism Military: -Emperor Daye asks his vassals and banner men to join him in the second crusade for Jerusalem and the holy land Domestic Affairs: -Emperor Daye Targaryen comes into power from Bavaria after being voted in to the position. He realizes that the empire will surely fall apart if it does not become centralized and decides that the only way for the people to allow the empire to be centralized is to win the hearts and minds of the people and vassals. He begins funding projects to build schools, orphanages, and other public projects. He also hosts many feasts for his vassals in an attempt to win over their favor. He also declares that the Holy Roman Empire will support his holiness in the second crusade. External Affairs: -The Holy Roman Empire requests trading rights with Denmark, Venice, Genoa, and France. -While on crusade, and to secure the support of the Byzantine Empire, Emperor Daye offers an arranged marriage between himself and Emperor Alexius's daughter Anna. Copypaste: -After ruling over Bavaria for centuries the Targaryen family finally sits atop the throne of the Holy Roman Empire. Born the only child of lady Rhalla and lord Aemon Targaryen Daye was raised to be a knight as well as to be honorable, kind, and just. After his parents died Daye was left to rule over Bavaria alone. After a few years of experience it would seem that the people of Bavaria love him and soon the people of the HRE will love him as well. Since coming to the throne Daye is fluent in English, French, German, and Latin and is actually literate. He was raised speaking English, as all Targaryens speak firstly, and has the accent of an Englishmen when he speaks english. It was also not uncommon for the family to intermarry though now it is seen as an abomination. -First Crusade Summary- Holy Roman Emperor goes on and becomes leader of part of crusade Most stuff happens as it actually did (The failure of the People's Crusade, Nicaea, Dorylaeum, Antioch, Jerusalem) but with some changes and a much different outcome (Holy Land held mostly by Venetians or Imperial vassals) Also the King of Scots was there (RIP left arm)
First Crusade: As told by Facepunch Participants: -Final Hunter (Holy Roman Empire) -Elfy (Kingdom of Scotland)(NPC) -Historical participants (NPC) Events: As crusade fever swept Europe, dozens of princes and lords took the cross and swear themselves to the Holy Land. Among them are Daye Targaryen, Holy Roman Empire, and Malcom III Dunkeld, King of Scots. Emperor Daye gathered his most loyal vassals, led in chief by his cousin Gaeron, duke of Frankfurt, and a crusading host of nearly fifteen thousand fighting men, accompanied by as many pilgrims and assorted non-combatants. King Malcolm raised a far more humble force, numbering less than three thousand. The Emperor departed by land, marching through Bohemia and south, along the Adriatic coast. Facing threats of starvation, he entered into a contract with the Doge of Venice. In return for twenty thousand silver pieces, lordship of Antioch, Jaffa, Acre, and Lebanon, and a marriage between Gaeron of Frankfurt and the Doge’s eldest daughter, the Venetians are to empty their already struggling shipyards and provide a fleet to shadow the host during its march across Anatolia. Arriving in eastern Greece, the Emperor is met by Greek officials. They inform him that Alexius I, Byzantine Emperor, has requested he proceed directly to Constantnople. Emperor Daye ordered his cousin to take the Imperial host to Thesalonoki and departs for the Byzantine capital. On arrival, he is greeted in person by Alexius, who later revealed that he mistrusts the westerners and demands assurance of their noble intentions. He asks Emperor Daye to convince the crusade leadership to swear oaths promising to return any formerly Byzantine lands. In return he offers guides, good markets, food, and soldiers for the crusade host, and he offers his widowed daughter Anna to marry Emperor Daye. Daye accepted, and despite reluctance from many crusade leaders, they agree, and the army is moved across the Bosporus, sent to a camp not far from the capital of Rum, Nicaea. After joining forces with Gaeron of Frankfurt the crusaders marched towards Nicaea, nearly forty thousand strong, along with countless pilgrims, servants, and whores. They besiege the city and, after several months and disastrous relief effort by Kilij Arslan, Sultan of Rum, the city falls. It does not fall to storm, however, but to Greek negotiations. Prevented from sacking Nicaea by its new Byzantine lord, the crusaders began to resent and mistrust the Greeks, just as the Greeks resented and mistrusted them. After Nicaea the army separated, a smaller force, led by Bohemond of Taranto, travelling overland, through the mountains. The larger force, led chiefly by Emperor Daye, marched south for the Anatolian coast. There they met up with the promised Venetian fleet, and began the long march to Antioch. Along the way the men under Bohemond crushed an army of Kilij Arslan, and the two hosts reunited at Antioch sometime in October, and they promptly sat down to besiege the city. They are in a sorry state, starving and worn out. The siege dragged on for two years, during which thousands starved, or are killed in the ceaseless skirmishes. Several relief armies are defeated, however, and with the fall of Saint Symeon to the recently arrived fleet of Scottish and English crusaders, led by King Malcolm III of Scotland supplies were finally able to reach to crusader camp. The Byzantine troops under Tatikos abandoned the siege, and it causes such anger in the crusader camp that the previous deal struck with Alexius is abandoned. Angry crusaders very nearly attack Empress Anna, daughter of Alexius and wife of Daye. Finally Bohemond of Taranto is able to sneak into the city and open it to the main army. The city fell on June 2nd, and the citadel is taken by crusaders when King Malcolm is able to get his men inside the gates, which were opened to accept fleeing members of the garrison. Malcolm’s men re-open the gates, and the Scots crusaders pour into the citadel, killing indiscriminately. On June 5th Kerbogha of Mosul arrived with a large army and tried to force his way into the city, but failed. By June 9th he established his own siege of Antioch. One the 10th of June, 1098, a poor monk named Peter Bartholomew, claimed to discover the Holy Lance. The discoveries raised morale considerably, and on the 13th of June King Malcolm and Emperor Daye convince the crusaders to sally forth bearing the Holy Lance. Malcolm’s son Edward bears the lance into battle, and the crusaders are able to throw back Kerbogha of Mosul. Bohemond claimed the city as his own, which Raymond of Toulouse resented greatly, as do the Venetians and the Emperor Daye. Eventually it is agreed that Bohemond would be granted extensive lands to the east and north of the city by the Venetians, so long as he swears an oath to never attack them. Nobody dares mention the previous agreement with Alexius, especially when it is learned that he abandoned a relief effort en route to Antioch before the city fell, convinced by the deserter Stephen of Blois that the situation was hopeless. The crusaders stayed in Antioch for several months, but starvation once again reared its head, and the army moved south towards Jerusalem in September. Bohemond stayed behind in his new lands, while Baldwin of Bouillon went east to establish a County of Edessa. The main army besieged several Syrian and Levantine cities on their way south, many of which were claimed either by Venetians or lords of the Holy Roman Empire in the entourage of Emperor Daye. By the early summer the crusaders reached Jerusalem, reduced by war and starvation to less than twenty thousand men, and lay siege to the Holy City. The city is stormed on July 15th, 1099, thousands scaling the walls while thousands more force breaches made by siege engines. The Emperor Daye’s cousin Gaeron of Frankfurt is killed fighting his way through a breach in the city walls, and Malcolm of Scotland lost an arm to a Muslim sword. In the end Jerusalem fell, and the victorious Christians sacked it savagely, killing thousands of defenceless civilians. A week later, as the smoke clears over the corpse city that is fallen Jerusalem, the crusader army marched out one more time. They march to Ascalon with ten thousand men, where they met and destroy an Egyptian relief army. With that, most consider their vows fulfilled, and make preparations to return to Europe. The Emperor Daye stayed, as did several important Venetians, Godfrey of Bouillon, Raymond of Toulouse, Bohemond of Taranto, and many other noble lords intent on carving out their own principalities in the Levant.
So that's that. No idea if I can update this as often as I'd like, but I'll try my bestest! Since this is the first turn everyone's reform or whatever went perfectly, but from now on expect things to be more rocky, and it may even lead to civil war, or worse. Another thing, please send in banners/flags, no smaller or larger than 250x150, and rectangular in shape.
