The map is coming online. Don't expect to see much of anything for at least 3-5 hours, and even then, you will have to zoom in a bit to find stuff since the highest tiles are rendered last. There's about 300,000 tiles to generate from scratch. I'm just doing the overworld daytime NE view tonight. I'll get around to adding a night view, caves, and possibly a SW orientation once I've fully validated that everything is operating perfectly. [editline]3rd July 2015[/editline] Spawn is visible if you zoom in.
and I left Wildeholt assuming its dead >w<
Is anyone else experiencing an issue where they can't close or destroy their own doors?
This server still active then? Been a while since I've played on it. I see Wildeholt is still up and running.
Hello, could you whitelist me? IGN: Rezental
Rail Line to Wildeholt is almost done, when we're done here we'll move our efforts towards Vozkal and other northernly cities

It's been athousandpandas.club for quite some time. [editline]4th July 2015[/editline] In other news I've decided that there's enough overhead to run all the old renders for the map. So on top of having Day, Night, Cave, Nether, and The End, there's also renders for all of those from a South West at the top instead of North East at the top perspective. The catch is that the map render won't be "fully" up to date as the processing on these is looking like it will take between 25 and 30 hours. Once the initial bulk of rendering is done in a couple of days, things should be updated within an hour or two of what happens on the server at most.

A map by colonialists to show the approximate location of the Dwarven colony of Noldorin (and how to get there if you wanna come live here!)

FROM THE GREAT SEA: -Take the Northern Pass and follow the eastern coast up to the Northern Swamps. -Merge into the Sindarin River and follow it to the Sea of Passing -Follow the left-hand coast to the Compass Stone, and sail off toward the direction it points. Stay in that general direction and you should reach Noldorin soon! More comprehensive directions will be created once the world map is updated to show Dwarven exploration.

Mallen-Tol's stables are 95% complete. I can now begin working on the road outside of the main gates and then onto the bridge to the mainland. After that, it's all on the rail building team. I will do my best to accommodate.
And secretly in development under everyones noses for the past 6 months (because frankly, nobody ever joined the server in 5 out of those 6 months) is the Great Southern New World Line. [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/32814946/Rail.png[/t] 4KM of single-track rail compromising of 3km subway and 1km overland monorail. Rail lines are 75% completed with an overall completion status of 60%. Our next agenda is to: -Complete rail line on spawn continent -Build a station at spawn -Finish up the bridge.
Did there not use to be a way with these maps to flip them so it's seen directly from above rather than this tilted view? Also anyone know in how many hours the map gets updated?
This is where Dwarves keep their ponies. Horses are just too big.
I'm building something big. Real big. I'll post pics once the skeleton's up.
I summoned a Wither. Based on the information on the wiki page I thought I had everything I needed to handle him, but the information was both inaccurate and misleading so I got my ass kicked repeatedly. The Wither is still alive as far as I'm aware, and I have no idea where he is because as soon as I summoned him he just took right the fuck off. Sega and I chased him for a while but between the fucking ARMY of mobs and the shitty terrain the Wither had run to we weren't able to make any significant progress. I can't emphasize enough how many mobs were there. It was weird. Sega and I were running to try to catch up to the Wither when we noticed it. There were like 2 dozen zombies and skeletons sitting in the middle of everything and all but a couple had armor on. I finally gave up when a line of skeletons arrow-pushed me into point-blank range of a creeper. Anyway, sorry for anyone who has to deal with that Wither. I did what I could with what I had.

Also anyone know in how many hours the map gets updated?
The map just finished the initial prerender. That involved generating ~1.9 million tiles (About 100GB worth) over the course of 40 hours. Now that that's done, I'm manually running another pass to catch up with the past 2 days worth of activity. From there, I'll throw it on a 30 minute cron loop tomorrow. In general, that means it will be updated every 30 minutes. If there is very heavy activity in a lot of different areas, it might take longer to update a given pass here and there, but I very much doubt it will fall more than 60-90 minutes behind more than a handful of times.

I dont think it will move with no players around to activate the AI life in that region
Withers have a tendency to run off into the middle of nowhere and then dig themselves down to bedrock. That's a big part of why the spawn underneath 2b2t was nothing but empty air down to bedrock for months. Someone released several thousand Withers.

See this is why you fight Withers underground. I had a similar fate when I fought mine on this server - I wasn't prepared for how much block destruction would happen and it took me about half an hour to finish it off. Fortunately it didn't get close to the surface, but it did end up exploding a hundred metres of tunnels in random directions.
The cobblestone supply run to Noldorin from the Mallen-Tol failed miserably and me and scorp gave up :'( Hopefullu Noldorin's wall annex can be constructed soon. On the bright side, if you wish to stop by we now have an impromptu path through the nether. Startsnear the Cactus Town portal.

Or water to cushion explosions?
