On my laptop, I can play the server perfectly fine but if I'm on single player, it lags so incredibly hard that it's impossible to play :v:
Makes perfect sense. Your laptop isn't powerful enough to run an entire server in the background, but it handles streaming that data fine. This is the magic of the Cloud.
Could I be whitelisted please? Minecraft name: Lhuth
And myself, grim0thy. Thanks.
Oasis Tower West Facade is finally complete. Other sides still need work too but this is a milestone since its the most intricate and takes shitloads of material. Just changed my Minecraft name back to the normal one (Vortisent), but it appears I can't login to the server, I get failed to verify the name error.
Zakkin is such a wonderful human being and a very friendly player.
So howzabout my side o' the story When I got into the place, I was set on doing the forge and farms. Since this was a themed city, I wanted to make shit with style over efficiency. Sure, I'll have stuff work, but I'll have it at a 60-40 balance, style-efficiency. The forge is gorgeous. It's got arches, furnaces as decorations, lava, I think I did damn well on it. Look at this shit. [t]http://i.imgur.com/Qy4C7yq.png[/t] The main room. See those white glass things? imo, sexy. And I made the stairs hug them just right, too. [t]http://i.imgur.com/AUVaxN7.png[/t] The "Hall of the mountain king", a purely aesthetic furnace hall with a big angry brick face at the end, with eyes that cleverly follow you around. [t]http://i.imgur.com/KfxoEzp.png[/t] And here is- well, was- the autofurnace. Loved it, I did. I wonder how it ended up like that. But what we're on about are the farms. I wanted to bring my ol' 60-40 sexy-worky style to it. So I did stuff like this: [t]http://i.imgur.com/Tr2PHPu.png[/t] See that water? That comes from the ocean, and is made to trickle down, floor by floor. Not one bucket was used, and with this system I needn't use a bucket even if I did so many farm layers I'd hit bedrock. A lil detail, but classy. And then there's the arches and what not. I had an info wall idea for each farm level. It'd have maths on detailing how much each section could produce, info about the farm, etc. Words are fun. Scorp cut 'em down into tunnels into the work area without tellin' me anything. What's that you said about "How's it feel to have your shit messed up?" Pretty bad, first time you did it. Though I figured I would work these tunnels into my designs, and future plans. I made a tunnel connected to an area where it'd work, and I decided I could have some supply tubes and what not where I could send stuff down to lower farm layers. I figured also that the tunnel could also have a cart system or path to/from a future animal farm section. The only downside it offered? A few seconds of extra walking. So, me and scorp argued. We took a few months' break from the server, though I a few months longer. When I come back, I find that the tunnels have been blocked up and stuff like this added: [t]http://i.imgur.com/1XWPxW9.png[/t] IMO if you're gonna have a themed city, go with the theme. If you want farms like this, go to your own personal base. Anyway, I come back and see all this stuff added, and the tunnels walled up like they were nothin'. After a good while of playing on the server again- I made another farm level, I finished up the Forge entirely- I decided that I haven't seen Scorp a lot and figured I could just... go with my original plans. And I was still pissed off, ofc. When I'm angry, I tend to swear, hence the "CUNT." I'm British, it's not as sharp here as it is in America. I swear when I'm angry, I'm only human, I don't do silly stuff like fill up other people's efforts with cobble or blow up the things they worked hard on and loved. So aye, there's a wall of text and my side of the story. You guys may think I take this a bit too seriously, but I've sunk plenty of hours into this shit and got dedicated. When he shoddied my work up with nary an excuse, returning with venom whenever I tried to fix it, of course I got angry. Angry's a good motivator for peltin' out walls like this. There you go.
It sounds like you two really need to not only discuss your plans more thoroughly, but set some boundaries as well. I had some issues like this with Saturn back in Vokzal, we had a little conflict over the monorail system, but we talked it over and worked things out. I think your problems stem from not really having any clear boundaries or projects. When you're working these joint builds, you need everyone to be on the same page. To add to that, Scorp definitely shouldn't be mocking you or destroying your things. If User or Saturn did that to me, I'd walk out and start my own thing. I'm very thankful that everyone I've worked with has been so understanding and helpful. To summarize, I think you're both assholes and you should kiss and make up. And then you should really think about whether you two want to keep working together, because you seem to have a really toxic relationship. We could use another builder that knows how to do subterranean stuff, but in Glushenko we have very clear boundaries. If you're up for it, though, the offer is there.
The farm was mine, the forge was mine. That much was organised at first. I wanted to compromise his tunnel thing into something that I could also work from more, but he just threw my shit aside and carried on anyway. Got me riled. I'm very certain that I gave an option that would benefit all, and way my farm system was I could just extend it if I needed it larger. I had good plans. I spoke of said plans. Whyyy.
:snip:
Wow... You can't take the hint at all. This isn't the place to air your dirty laundry. In Vokzal, when we had a disagreement, we hashed it out over Steam and came to an understanding. I think the obvious solution is to ban both of you until you can learn to not be screaming children... But that's just me being way too much of a pragmatic asshole. Here's a life lesson from Rick and Morty that I think is helpful in this situation. And I truly do say this out of nothing but respect for the both of you, and what you've managed to do. I just think you need to realize how absurd this all is, and you need to settle it. There's nothing hostile here, and I don't want anyone to take it that way, but we're all very tired of this kind of dramatic affair. As an aside, if anyone's looking for a new place to build a home, we're accepting anyone who can show excellence in design and creative ability. We could use someone like either of you around Glushenko, although we have our own systems and boundaries that we all try to respect. If you think you'd be able to work in that environment, or you think you would enjoy it, let me know. I wish you both the best.
You're right, that was petty of me. I snipped my post.
I found a color changing sheep at WillaVanilla's place. Apparently if you name a sheep "jeb_" its wool turns into a rainbow, although the color of wool you get from it is unchanged.
I found a color changing sheep at WillaVanilla's place. [editline]25th October 2015[/editline] Died yesterday losing all my diamond armour and some building blocks for the glushenko tower. When I came back everything had despawned, It was a sad day. I thought the world unloads when you leave the area?
Can someone whitelist me please? My name's Lexicality.
How did Terry die? Terry was my iron golem. (763, 86, 163 nether coordinates.) [editline]25th October 2015[/editline] To whomever is Vortisent in-game. This is my cactus farm: http://map.athousandpandas.club/#/4833/64/494/-1/0/0 (Which I don't really use. I just felt like building it, but I use the swamp biome nearby.) I don't see your home anywhere near there. My portal is positioned exactly, so you shouldn't have any problems if you just build both of your portals correctly. If your home is actually nearby (and just hidden?), maybe you should just use my portal, because I have a minecart track going straight there in the nether. Or put a walkway from my railway station to your portal. I don't mind if you punch a hole in one of the walls. Just make sure the station is still safe from ghasts. edit again: Found your home. You're actually a good distance away, so we can definitely have two portals. I don't see that you have a nether-side portal. I might just build you one, because it's not in a terribly difficult spot. I can't really move my portal because it's already in the exact right place. If you go back a few pages I explained a situation like this. edit again again: It is in kind of a weird place, but I built you a portal at the correct coordinates. I wasn't really sure if you wanted to stay hidden or not, so I didn't build anything really fancy. I built you a platform and portal room which are safe from ghasts and pigmen: There is a staircase going out to the nether below and a makeshift path of stone bricks leading to my portal room (mind the drop): Technically the portal can be moved closer, to a more opportune place, but where it is right now is exact. I can move it and/or build you a nicer path if you don't feel comfortable hanging out in the nether. (But I already did the really risky part, building the platform, because I have fire resistance potions and stuff. There are two layers of netherrack under the stone bricks slabs, so you can break in to the floor a little bit if you want to do something different.) I played around with it and I figured out that you can't use my portal, because it's just too far away to ever be more than one way. What happens is that yours connects to mine if you're traveling from the overworld, because the coordinates are closer, but if you try to go through the nether side, it will always create a portal on the roof of my overworld shack.
Would anyone be opposed to me adding rails to the existing nether path ways?
It'd be better with rails imho
Would anyone be opposed to me adding rails to the existing nether path ways?
I would prefer it if you would do it as an extension. And not on top of the existing path. Or a completely new system. [editline] If god isn't real then why do bananas exist? [/editline] Moving on to another matter. Oasis Tower East Facade is done, which means the exterior is now 100% complete  I'm opening up floors 2-12* for public. Just holla at me in game (IGN: RBC_DeadPie) if interested, you'll get standard office blocks of equal sizes. (3 block high rooms, actual surface area to be determined) *floors 1-11 if you live in countries where Ground Floor does not count as 1st floor.
Is the 13th/14th floor your mechanical? Because it should be.
Is the 13th/14th floor your mechanical? Because it should be.
Floors 12/13 will be the aux floor in case I need to cram any mechanical necessities in. Initially it was supposed to be 14th/15th but I have another use for it now.

To whoever's building the fuckhuge rectangle tower in spawn, you're going to need more architectural variety than that. Skyscrapers don't just start with a single pattern and follow it all the way up, usually they've got a street-level base that separates itself from the top with things like covered promenades or big storefront windows. You want the first few floors to look human-scale. Everything above that can be tower. For instance, EDIT: I get that that could have come off as callous or commanding. Didn't intend for that. Sorry. Just trying to give some pointers, not trying to take control of a project that isn't mine.
The dark glass might of been a bit out there as a main colour.
The dark glass might of been a bit out there as a main colour.
I actually like the new skyscraper. I'm talking about the one across town that's under construction.
I managed to find an old map screenshot of the spawn from a year ago. Funny how it changed a lot in just one year. back then (ignore mspaint shit in it) [t]http://i.imgur.com/onyJqyG.png[/t] today [t]http://i.imgur.com/qDb3Tj8.png[/t] today

I'll speak on behalf of the person building the rectangle, as he is not a member of this forum. He means to emulate the World Trade Center, something he has indeed before to some extent, and quite well. Any tips I might pass along, Wool or Incoming? [editline]26th October 2015[/editline] Oh and by the way, at the moment he only has one tower planned due to space constraints.

[t]http://static.flickr.com/85/249362061_9ca82d1883_o.jpg[/t] If he can figure out how to replicate that, it'll be very impressive. Also, it had this interior space. [t]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/8c/World_Trade_Center_lobby,_08-19-2000.png[/t] Easily some of the greatest mid-century skyscrapers ever built. Their loss is significant, not so much as the people, but significant nonetheless.
