Started out as a semi-classical-medieval town thing but we decided that it's not worth expanding any further so it is now a gateway outpost thing for travelers to restock on their adventures to the south.

It's ridiculous what a commodity cobble can be on a server. I remember when I ran a server there were people who would show up, use up all the Public Access cobble (where we dumped a bunch of shit for anybody to use), and they would leave as soon as the cobble ran dry, only to wait and log in again to see if there's more I guess.
It got to the point where some guy decided he was going to make a cobble-stone generator and get cobble from that. I had to explain to him, in depth, how a cobble generator (mind you this was no mods at all, and was back before Birch and Lapis were even added) was slower and less efficient than him just getting off his ass and going to the mines, where he can both:
A) Get shit-tons of cobblestone to build with, and
B) "Oh don't mind me just getting cobbleston-OH WOW LOOKY THERE SOME USEFUL MINERALS ARE MIXED IN AMONGST ALL OF THIS STONE THIS IS SURELY A MIRACLE!" (you get useful ores and shit)

It's like a lot of people on this server dislike the whole mining aspect of the game, which is literally 50% of the game play :v:
Somebody took almost all of my dark oak wood. Coordinates of the chest: 6135, 86, 1037. Not sure exactly how much is missing, but I'm pretty sure it's around 15-20 stacks.
I would appreciate the luxury of treating people on the server like adults, and not like dipshits who steal resources which took time and effort to obtain.
I am more interested in these resources magically reappearing in my chest than knowing who exactly took them. It's mine. Give it back.
Seriously, don't play anarchy with me. If I keep finding stuff missing, I have no problem closing my area off and laying traps. I'm nowhere near that point, but I have no problem doing that and I will do that if this sort of thing continues. Taking large amounts of stuff that I've gathered by hand without asking is not "using my farms". It's just theft.
edit: I've been made aware that a great deal of it has been used to build buildings, and much of it is stairs and slabs now. You therefore have some work to do before you can return my dark oak wood. Perhaps you will get an idea of about how long I spent acquiring all of it. I'm willing to spare you 4 saplings, because that's what I started with. I recommend getting an item with fortune 3 to harvest the leaves. See, getting that much dark oak wood isn't easy.

Reminds me of years ago in singleplayer when I used to idle for 10-15 minutes with a cobblestone generator and my mouse button held down. Easy way to get a full inventory!
In sadder news, I can't repopulate Cactus Town / Acacia Village / Enderpearl Village with villagers too quickly, because someone (or something, more likely) killed them all off. I do have a secret (in)breeding population hidden away though, and a few potions and gold apples. Is it worth trying to repopulate?

You sure about that? Literally no one likes it, and I haven't seen the owner for probably 2 1/2 months.
If you logged the front of the building it might show activity, but that's me from fixing creeper damage. I said "12 hour notice" because I'm really sick of waiting for some kind of hallelujah moment that hasn't come, and just want to get the thing done and over with.

Let me set some context here: It isn't just me that hates it, and I don't rip things down over a few days.
Every active member in Wildeholt I know of dislikes the building. Snipercom's house was probably abandoned for a lesser amount of time [I]and[/I] generally more liked, but ripping it down seemed to have no issues. I can provide a list of people who would like to see no better than for it to be demolished.
Me requesting this is not needless, its borderline necessary. First Pretendeer talks to me about demolishing it, then Eom asks me entirely separately of pretendeer: "You know what building I really hate?"

Also you might see me wandering around in that building once or twice, so that would be some of the activity you are seeing. If I am fixing or building something in town and I need emergency materials I usually skim from that house, but I replace everything I take when I make it back to town from my stockpile at the farm.
