I'd love to join sometime, my IGN is AwfulRanger.
I'm still not entirely sure spawn needs another central purge yet. I think we should really focus on building up the outskirts before we start tearing stuff down. There are also ongoing construction projects that need to be finished as well. If we remove density at the core, it'll begin to feel quite hollow.
Which building?
[t]http://i.imgur.com/YAu00uK.png[/t]
Why are you demolishing these buildings, anyway? Not that I really have a stake in it since I didn't build them, but I just don't really see the point. Also, I thought the "shitty space needle" was cool.
Why not put efforts into building a new town so you can have your vision without demolishing other peoples stuff.
I think we have to be fair here, Mcgrath is really the only one keeping spawn alive right now. He's really done a lot of work to bring it back around after most people ran off to do their own thing. Clearly his strategy is working. I do think he should concentrate on expanding rather than redeveloping, though. Spawn's got enough of an area around it to make a sizable suburb.

I'm not even the one who wanted it gone, it was the Conor guy
You know, I feel like we should care more about the spawn point itself. After all, afaik they are basically falling off into the canal below, if not spawning in the canal itself. [editline]15th November 2015[/editline] To whoever's fixing my old home, I like what you've done with the place, it's original design was because I only had so much granite :^)

Others will be built and abandoned, too. Tearing shit down in spawn and rebuilding it to artificially keep it alive is rather dumb, especially when the ore resources in the spawn point of any server are quickly diminished.

If anyone wants to study up on them, they're in the Town Hall library in Wildeholt. The Town Hall is due west of the portal.

Sorry. That's not a dig at you personally, but I think your bias is clouding your lens.
IMO I actually feel like it would be cooler if spawn had this OldTown-Downtown thing. Like Paris where the central is all that old shit with that Eiffel tower and shit and then you go to LeDefence and WHAM its all modern and asian and shit.

Therefore, the best next thing is Western Spawn, which still has houses and things Eastern Spawn could work too, you know that elevated area with the police station
I say we just keep building, and don't tear things down in spawn. If there are short buildings you want taller, build on top of them (if they're unoccupied), maybe throw on some new street-level facades. You can do a lot without having to tear down every building that doesn't meet your design.
While it probably looked abandoned, the building that now lies below the ericson construction site at spawn, was something i was actually working on :/

I also left some signs, but never received a response in the two weeks they were up. You can talk to User about damages. We can sort something out. You can feel free to keep building underneath the theater as well, if you want, since your building is still attached to the tunnel.
To be honest, I love that little underground section that you get to via the walkway under the theater It has this cozy feel to it
To be honest, I love that little underground section that you get to via the walkway under the theater It has this cozy feel to it
I made sure to keep the tunnel and most of the area behind the theater, since I didn't want to cut off an entire section of town.
I only work on enderpearl like three times a week lol you guys need to take it chill with this sort of thing.
I only work on enderpearl like three times a week lol you guys need to take it chill with this sort of thing.
I'm not sure what your point is. I work on these projects because I like working on them, and I finish them fairly quickly. Are you suggesting we play less? What would that accomplish?
Anyone want to take responsibility for the apparent death of Overly Aggressive Bartender IV? Wildeholt is now short on alcohol-serving-zombies.
I'm not sure what your point is. I work on these projects because I like working on them, and I finish them fairly quickly. Are you suggesting we play less? What would that accomplish?
no i mean like people who are working in places like spawn should just take it slowly rather than wanting to pull down everything and rebuild it all at once like, people should work on one project at a time sort of thing
Oh. Yeah, definitely. That's what I've been doing, and I think that's a good mindset to have. I think that was one of the biggest simultaneous problems and advantages of the Glushenko project, was that I didn't build something new until I had finished the last build. So most things are mostly (structurally) complete.
I think Sobotnik's point is, you guys play almost every day where as other players may play only once a week. Due to them playing less, many of their projects that are half done may appear abandoned and untouched.
I might of just screwed pretendeers Stronghold esque building in wildeholt Pretendeer, I swear I thought it was a randomly generated stronghold oh god what do i do
Well, here's a rough drawling in MS Paint on where I think Spawn's "oldtown" should be This is of course, up for debate, as I don't know if I like the size or not
I might of just screwed pretendeers Stronghold esque building in wildeholt Pretendeer, I swear I thought it was a randomly generated stronghold oh god what do i do
What???
What???
You know that end portal? You leave that room, go to the edge of the stronghold, it looks like it was abandoned and somewhat griefed and ransacked. So I went and mined the cracked bricks and mossy stone bricks. Because I didn't put that end portal room stronghold, and the stronghold I was in together. Now I have a stack of bricks I mined, and I don't even know where in the stronghold I mined them because I booked it out of there when I realized what I was doing. Want some free bricks?
