That looks very odd. The top of the pyramid looks like a side of it.
That looks very odd. The top of the pyramid looks like a side of it.
Yeah it's weird on the eyes but I was more amazed by the shear size of it, you can fit at least like 20 spawns in there. It must have required a tremendous amount of work assuming it's built manually without mods and somewhere there has to be a pretty big hole in the ground.
Let me know when you figure it out. Go to my 'village' next to my house, you'll see a design that the wiki says is suppose to work but not sure what I did wrong.
I got it to work. It was a housing issue. The wiki says:
...a village's population is maintained at 0.35 times the number of "houses" (defined above.) Specifically, villagers may mate if the current population (updated only once per second) is below 0.35 times the number of "houses" rounded down.
I had 8 recognized houses, and 4 villagers. 8*.35=2.8, not enough doors. I raised the number of doors and they began breeding. I've opted to build my houses up rather than out, with 4 houses on each floor of each tower. I also threw them a bunch of bread to make them willing.

It's still huge though.
Was browsing the map around the city I'm currently building when I found this. what the actual fuck?
Wasn't this a project that pretender was working on at one point? It's been abandoned for months.
It's been abandoned for months.
A great shame, it has potential of being the most colossal thing I've seen built in this game.
I have another friend of mine who wants to be whitelisted, IGN cartersystem. -Snip extra bullshit-

I added a few layers like 2 weeks ago, but it uses just massive amounts of sandstone for only one layer so I take breaks frequently.

So, with Pikzal being on the coastline, and being directly across from an island, why not have a set of docks and/or a wharf? I was thinking of building a mid-sized diorite (to mimic white marble) and smooth stone building in a modernist style on the edge of town behind the post office, and then adding a combined boardwalk/docks setup on the water-facing side of the building, with large glass walls for viewing the water. Then there would be boat docks off the sides of the boardwalk, with it being capped on the far end by a fishing pier. So, that sound good?
If you want to sketch some stuff out in creative, I'd be able to get a better idea of what you're planning. I think it's a good idea, though.
Ok, so now that my house is done, here's a visual tour of the simply named "ScriptKitt3h Building" in Pikzal: View from the rail line: [t]http://i.imgur.com/wMHyrMU.png[/t] Entrance: [t]http://i.imgur.com/4tr0Hw1.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/rWfIWHO.png[/t] First Floor (Cafe De LMAO Pics, a Public Pool, and the mineshaft entrance): [t]http://i.imgur.com/ZyTRHqN.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/BA8n9D4.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/iEonNXO.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/vu0ghgV.png[/t] Basement: [t]http://i.imgur.com/lWmicD2.png[/t] Second Floor (My personal residence in Pikzal): [t]http://i.imgur.com/yt51B1Y.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/0zvzR3z.png[/t] Rooftop Garden (2nd floor): [t]http://i.imgur.com/9xhZxL1.png[/t] Top Floor/Rooftop Lounge: [t]http://i.imgur.com/31ltpFM.png[/t] Amenities include a rooftop lava pit for cookouts, an outdoor garden, Cafe LMAO Pics Bar n Grill, a pool, and access to a mineshaft that still yields considerable amounts of Diorite, Granite, Coal, Gold, Iron, and other useful ores and blocks. Come visit today! Also, if anyone wants me to, I'm open for making more homes/buildings in a similar glass-heavy style in or around Pikzal.
But the more layers you add, the less materials you need
The lower layers are still taking hundreds of sandstone, so it'll be a while before there's a noticeable difference.

@Script, I deposited 4 stacks of coal and a little something extra I picked up along the way into your chest in the restaurant.
Challenge: Give them nametags so the don't despawn, and trap them in a zoo exhibit, without them detonating.
Too late. RIP charged creeper 1 RIP charged creeper 2 RIP Emperor Scorpious II I spawned back at a halfway point between spawn and my home. The creeper literally blew me halfway across the server.
Now that I finally have a home, I'd like to share my simple little house. House is nearly finished, just need to add some finishing touches.
Since it looks like Facepunch still has a populated server, and I'm considering giving Minecraft a try again, might as well attempt to get whitelisted. FlakThemighty
do not whitelist this person (jk he's cool)
Wow. Everyone's coming back.
Is that storehouse automated? Not visisted mallen tol, looks super good
Mallen-Tol is abandoned.
Mallen-Tol is abandoned.
Still looks cools and my question about automation still stands. Imo its a good thing to finish projects and move on. Prevents stagnation and leads to a constantly learning and evolving server.
Still looks cools and my question about automation still stands. Imo its a good thing to finish projects and move on. I would give it four stars on Yelp.
The lower layers are still taking hundreds of sandstone, so it'll be a while before there's a noticeable difference.
I've got a few double chests of sandstone I'll send over when I've got the chance.
I've half-way thought about hopping in just to be "that guy what mines stuff". I was never creative enough to make awesome things without mods, since automating dull tasks is my forte, but in vanilla there's a certain zen to exploration and mining. Hell, even in modded servers I'd occasionally get bored and say "Going on a trip, anybody need anything rare/weird?" and just wander around the server, living off the land, gathering things like bees and Silverwood saplings that I'd either use or trade/give away. But then again, I wouldn't doubt for a second that I could make the single shittiest shack in existence full of chests and signs that say "Anything in the chests is free game, just don't break anything, please" and somebody would end up waking the chests and parts of the walls, some Minecraft players are like tweakers in that regard, "AWW YISS, FREE STUFF! Alright Frank, you take the redstone and coal, I'll start ripping the copper out of the walls!" Then again, I haven't logged into Minecraft in so long, somebody's probably hacked my account by now. :v:
