Anyways, regarding the buildings: two of the tallest ones I made do have purposes: the taller one made of wood and andesite is the M&IRR headquarters and my own personal testing facility for texture packs and other sciences in the game, and the iron one is an apartment building that I also used to experiment with redstone elevators. I plan on furnishing that one soon.
As for the large black building, that I like to call the Dong, I did not build that and I think RBC wanted to make that an apartment building. I didn't want to touch it without his permission, but now he's been gone for awhile and we can work on it.
The STC is my cousin's brainchild, and will be mostly composed of office buildings and his own penthouse.
As for my blue building that I have not completed: I've decided to halt progress until I can figure out what to do with it. I'd like to make it the Municipal Services Building, as it's smack dab in the center of the city.
The Granite building that used to be chipsnapper's is now a hotel/public lodge. He may move back in there soon. The Spawn cafe is totally furnished, as I made sure when building it, as an apartment building in the top four floors. The Public farm is a public farm. I never got around to furnishing it, but the sandstone/cobble building is a lakeside apartment building. The Space needle is exactly where it was, and it's kind of a balcony.
The last building in spawn is Cactus Tower. I have no idea what Blu wants to do with that, it's his property and it's his to do with as he pleases.

On a different angle you could make a walled off area and build it like an arena (the movie district 13 comes to mind) where people can fight, compete, play hide and seek, play find the x. Doesn't need to be useful or liveable to attract traffic. Maybe race horses through streets with traps and jumps or something.
An Idea i had a while back was to use minecraft as a means of teaching people about stuff. The plan was to have an iron age village teaching people about the materials used, houses they lived in and the rules they followed. A more modern idea might be a smeltery where people are guided through a building with each room giving information about different steps of the process with a renamed item in a frame with a sign to tell people. Could also do the haber process or something to do with building. Useless but might be interesting for someone to walk around and read about.[/QUOTE]

Its supposed to be a vintage harbor area, kind of like the older area of a town like St. Augustine or Cape Cod. Houses/buildings in those areas are colorful.

I used a Corsair 240. It sort of has the same minimal aesthetic Apple uses, but it's more in line with a Jens Risom or Frank Lloyd Wright than Jony Ive or Dieter Rams.
