This isn't over the name anymore, he's basically saying this entire argument is my fault, and that I'm being childish, all the while he's failing to mention past incursions. In reality, the entire concept of this fight is juvenile.
Based on all I've read, sega found my tone condescending, most notably toward Mort or King. Let me make something clear: if King, or Mort feel offended, or my tone derogatory, they can easily tell me upfront because I never intend to be outrageously "elitist" or "entitled" about anything.
Fighting other people's battles isn't courageous; it's confusing. Especially when I've played with one of the people in question for a long while, and have to negative disposition against either. The "list" is supposed to be an easy thing to get on. Hostilities started abruptly, so I'll use this time to explain the concept of "the list", and how "clearing the chatter a bit" no matter how badly sega wants it to sound "elitist", makes perfect sense.
1: owning a house in Spawn automatically adds you to the list
2: all votes would be equal
3:it should of saved needless forum posts and counting complicated tallies.
4: if building a house is too difficult, simply donating significantly to a project [determined by players behind project] puts you on the list
5: lifetime membership
Absolutely nothing about this is elitist. It, might actually inspire some people to donate or build houses, simply so they can be part of voting and policy making.
Now, in regards to how limited the list was: it wasn't. It was a goddamn introduction to the idea, and I even made very significant reference to this.
The fact I have to explain myself so much over such an archaic concept is mind numbing, especially when efforts are made to paint me as a type of list master. This is ridiculous, and want to actually apologize to any new person reading this, the server doesn't usually have this much forum drama.
I am done arguing over whether this is "elitist", and will instead focus on what others think of the idea, and how [should the idea take hold] it can be smoothly implemented.
I remind everyone, this hasn't even come close to being even remotely enforced, and I am merely putting the concept out there to avoid idiotic drama such as this. I'd prefer something more constructive, from some fresh perspectives.
IMO everyone took this a bit too seriously and began arguing for the sake of arguing, an argument that is folly in and of itself. Both of you have valid points and neither is more right than the other
Now, to clear up something, Spawn is public domain. I just organize things and add a bit of structure to it by appointing people to do certain jobs. Fulsy is head of Transportation Development, Chipsnapper is sheriff, Conor is the port authority, and Wool is the head of Spawn Planning and Development Commission. However, other than within their own specified fields, no one has anymore power than anyone else when it comes to deciding things like Spawn's name. Not even me, everything I handle tends to be developmental. Therefore, being public domain, the majority rule should get the vote. If the people want it to stay the same, then it'll stay the same. If they want it to change, it'll change.
Now that that's cleared up, let's all stop arguing and instead focus on developing not only Spawn, but the whole world to the fullest of its extent.
Now to address something totally different, Fulsy, I love your design for Spawn Terminal. Keep it.
I still say we keep it "spawn" and call parts of it different things. That way, nobody gets pissy and everyone's happy!

Town names are stupid. So are building names. For every "Silvetica Tower" there's ten "the big silver dildo". I'm not saying to stop naming, I'm just saying to accept that nobody but locals will care.

Is there going to be a line built to Mallen-Tol? Traveling through the Nether to get to other places is nice, but it also eats up your hunger meter wicked fast. I still have two stacks of baked potatoes in my inventory but I don't want to waste them on Nether runs.

It would make sense to put the line in the nether.. Every 1 block in the nether is 8 blocks in the overworld.
I was thinking about making a map for the nether (similar to what mcgrath's done for the subway map)... Might give it a shot sometime. :)

I was going to originally build an underwater tunnel to Squidmurder but it's way too much work (plus some cheeky cunt nicked most of my sponge). I have the Start of a Station build under water so I'll finish it off and make a bridge going overwater connecting it.

The easiest way is just to know someone already on the server. Otherwise, you're going to have to post a bit more or exist longer. Most people won't vouch for an account less than a week old.
