That is but a small loan of course
That is but a small loan of course
20% interest for 6 months.

hey fulsy i was wondering how much space ur stadium is gonna take up when the plateau is all dug up cuz i was thinking i wanted to enjoy the fruit of my labor and set up shop at that peninsula maybe make a skyscraper or something i dunno

To the person asking for the old map files, I found them. Going to be a day or two until I can upload them since they are on a remote machine I don't have access to at the moment.
Zephyrs refuses to release it, I've already asked long ago in order to find slime chunks.
Correct. Mostly because you can do a lot of things with the seed. Even with the ever so slightly tweaked ore generation, it makes it trivial to find specific things, and I'd prefer to avoid that outside of natural discovery. I'm willing to give you some limited info about chunk locations, but that's really it. By the way, when it comes to slimes, any simple chunk farm will produce double chests of them if it close to your base. Willa has a slime farm working, and last I knew was more than willing to share. Just ask him.
That was so long ago I don't even remember why I needed them :v:

I haven't got a final design yet, but it'll be confined to the red square illustrated here. Everything else is fair game
Hey I just died, a few questions. I completely forgot where i settled. All I remember was it was near a village with an underground subway system with a couple stops. Does the subway extend to spawn? How long will my items stay around? I may have dropped some diamonds, whoops.
That was probably Wildeholt. Take the main train line from Spawn out that way. It's the only line running from central. Your items will stay for as long as the chunk is unloaded, plus five minutes.

It was due Northwest not to far from spawn.
That's Wildeholt
I just found my place by looking at the world map. Luckily my items were there. It was due Northwest not to far from spawn.

That's Wildeholt
Can confirm. Was walking around West Wildeholt this morning and saw your glass house.
Concerning the iron farm: If you want to encapsulate it in a tower, that is fine, but do not put any blocks that mobs can spawn on, regardless of light level, near the doors. Hordes sometimes spawn in full light for whatever reason, so any flooring at that level must be half slabs, nonexistent, or some nonespawnable block like glass. Additionally, do NOT cut into the iron block structure. It is specifically there to protect the redstone and other materials from accidental damage. I also don't see the need to bring the spawning floor dimensions all the way to ground level. There's plenty of usable ground space there, and doing so will cut into existing structures, like the square outside the train station. Concerning Wildeholt: I cleared out a significant number of the neutral mobs in the sheep/chicken/cow farm. The entity count was up over 780, and it was causing severe tick lag. Having several hundred mobs isn't inherently a problem, but when the numbers get that high, and when the space is that small, it becomes one. Even with spigot optimizations they trigger collision detection constantly when boxed up that small.

I heard Incoming might go out and spear whales in his spare time, but you didn't hear it from me.
If you'll excuse me, I'm just going to shove my whaling company into this closet.
Looks like my dog meat packing facility will suffer
I found this video on youtube about my house:

Alright folks. Discussion time. There seem to be very minor changes to 1.9 with regards to world gen. There's a new structure that doesn't have any meaningful impact on anything, and some assorted random loot in dungeons, that you can trade/fish for. As such I'm going to say right now that it is exceedingly unlikely for there to be a world reset. Now. A few people have mentioned that they would be interested in new maps. So here's my proposal. I have the resources available to run multiple servers at once. If I do so, I will use bungeecord to tie them together. That means, that to your client, it will simply look like one server with many extra dimensions. Inventory will not be shared across servers. Changing servers can be done with a chat command. There will be cross server chat. Now, the question is what do people want? There is, and will continue to be a "pure vanilla" server. The only constraint on what else I run is that it must share a version number (in this case 1.9.*), and be bukkit/spigot based (no forge, ftb, etc). I had thought about creating a world that automatically resets every month or two with a new random seed, letting people explore. Other options were skyblock style worlds, but the plugins for those always felt pointlessly limited. The realistic world gen seemed neat, up until the point where it was forge only. I don't have to spin up another server, but there is nothing stopping me from doing so. So again, the question is, what do people want?
An amplified map would be neat, though no matter what new map there is I'll more than likely play solely on the original one most of my time.

Edit: Could you just give everyone on the server elytra wings? :P
Will it work to just expand the world border and use the new chunks?
While I think that a new world is an exciting idea, I feel that it'd be abandoned because people want their stuff from 1.8 and below with them. I don't think anyone would agree with a technology nuke going off, even though it sounds like an extremely cool idea. Perhaps we could wipe parts of our map out that nobody inhabits and we all travel into the new world?
Will it work to just expand the world border and use the new chunks?
IIRC, the new structure he's talking about is an igloo so unless the expanded world definitely has snow biomes in it, which don't guarantee will even spawn regardless, expanding an already empty map wouldn't be the best solution.
I'd really like a map that messes around with the 1.8 world generation sliders. I'll check out some generation settings tonight to give some examples of what might be cool.
Honestly, I'm fine with whatever. It's probably best if we don't absolutely destroy the current map, though. If there's nothing worth starting up a new map, then I wouldn't worry about it.
Also, we have to remember that only about 66% of the world has been generated. There could be a snow biome somewhere that we haven't been to yet
I vote for changing nothing but resetting the End. 1.9 would just add igloos, right? No changing the biome layout for new chunks, like the jump from 1.7 to 1.8 did?
