Yes, for about an hour now.

It was having some awfully bad lag spikes, got kicked a couple times before it just went down completely.
Still seems to be down, damn... I was still interested in exploring
Hey when the server goes back up, I'd be willing the be dorf!
If dwarfing isn't your thing, I've got a little city on an island built in a modern style about 500 blocks south of Mallen-Tol where some friends of mine used to build too. I don't remember if we ever gave it a name, so I'll name it now- Vokzal.
It had a name, I just don't remember it. It's probably in the old thread for the server, wherever that is.
I doubt I'd be able to contribute very much to Mallen-Tol, y'all are too good for me.
@Sega: am not into the modern city type feel in Minecraft. Good luck though.
Mallen-Tol was never about building great, that was just a by-product.
The original intent was to create a completely self-sufficient base underground with the intention of, once complete, never having to see the light of day or moon again.
The dwarven theme just fit much better with that. I'm still aiming for efficiency within the hold. Farms still need to be built, and I need animal pens underground. Everything else was just for flavor.
If anything, mock and imitate the surrounding designs if you can. They can be a strong inspiration and after building them yourself, it'll lead to you imagining your own variations. That's how I became such a great builder in Minecraft. I just built what I saw others do, and after a while I took their ideas and altered them into my own.
You should never leave a place because other builders are "too good". That's not what they are, they're your future mentors to become a good builder yourself.

if people are feeling lonely/bored, maybe we should consider a map reset.
While its counters any effort put in current map, vanilla does not generally allow much of travel.
For instance I have 5 double chests full of organized resourses and even though I have a horse it was a pain to move away for 300 blocks to a new place I liked, not to mention breaking down my previous towe and the fact that non-on foot travel is a pain in multiplayer.
Resetting a map always means people get to encounter new places to live, get to reconsider how, where and how far away they want to live, gang up in new groups and so on.
Not saying thats the only way, but it would most likely burst up the activity and reset the creativity.
Please don't reset
Please do reset
i'd be up for a reset -- seems like a really good point to jump on
The only time I would support a reset is if some update added a significant thing to the map like new ores to buildings to be generated.
Otherwise I see no reason, there's plenty of uncharted places in the map even with the border.

This is basically the only reason barring massive demand for it that I intend to reset anything.
Even then, if it's just very minor things, I can still just expand the border now that disc space is less of a concern.
If I lost my dwarven keep right after getting back on, it'd drive me mad
Just jumped back on for the first time in several months. Took me a while to find my home, but I'm glad it's still standing and no one has touched my armour/weaponsk/resources. :v:

Don't reset, please.
This is the first server that I didn't play on for 6 months and returned and my stuff wasn't looted beyond belief.
Please no reset.
Server die for anyone else?
Wildholt productivity up 150% since I declared myself dicta- mayor.
This WILL be democratic, though, so if people have advice/suggestions/polls/lookatmeideasguy type things to say, now is a great time.

Establish friendly relations with local kingdoms and domains, such as the Dwarven hold of Mallen-Tol.
Not even sure what kind of realm that is. I suppose it's a kingdom since I'm "King Scorpious" and I've self-titled myself "First of the Dwarf Lords".

Don't trust this man, he dethroned me and I'm pretty sure he's a skeleton.
Hello, I' haven't played Minecraft for AGES, but I'm feeling creative, My username is XeoXeo, can someone whitelist me? I just wanna find a nice quiet piece of desert and make a giant pyramid
I don't think there are any deserts on this map.
IIRC, from like 6+ months ago, there might be one to the south east, far from spawn. But other than that, this is mostly cold or wet regions.
Oh well, I'll just make something else
There's literally a desert that you can see from the spawn point.
I can walk to that desert from my base i think. Map doesn't work unfortunately, Nor can I connect at the moment.
Wildeholt, Mallen-Tol, and Vokzal (my island) are all in very close proximity to each other. It's probably quite feasible to extend the rail line I built to the mainland onward to Wildeholt, while an underground line to Mallen-Tol could replace my planned Y12 mining shuttle line so that riders could commute through all three cities.
I was toying with the idea of building a huge (and probably ornamental) bridge from the closes point of the island to the mainland, I wouldn't be out of such plans like that.
I might pop back on later tonight. It's been a while!

How accurate is the map I made from 8 months ago? It doesn't have the Mallen-Tol portal marked on it, I know that much.
