That sounds like a good idea though
It just reminded me of the public library characters hide in Day After Tomorrow :v:
If you're referring to the other MC server, that's a looong history with the server and the players.

I remember something about tW4r burning it down by accident while trying to make a fireplace but that was like last year.
[editline]4th July 2016[/editline]
My new pumpkin farm is almost full so it's a great time for people to trade them in for emeralds. I'm probably just going to build more chests but the point is I have a lot. I didn't make a post yet formally describing how to trade with the villagers so I'll go ahead and do that. There is a signboard describing it as well.
The villagers are in the long line of pods off the side of the iron tower: http://map.athousandpandas.club/#/6327/64/891/max/0/0. Kind of hard to describe it other than that since they don't show up on the overview. It's more obvious if you just go up there. The breeder is gated off but the trader pods are not.
Each time you trade with a villager there's a possibility of two random events occurring:
1. The trade item you just used becomes disabled.
2. All disabled trade items become re-enabled.
You can tell that the item is disabled because a red 'X' appears over it and it says you need to trade something else. What the second point means is that disabled items aren't gone forever. You just need to trade the villager something else for some amount and it re-enables. You can tell that items were re-enabled because after you close the trade window, the villager gets a green and pink particle effect a few seconds later.
Also, since both events occur independently, it's possible for an item to become simultaneously disabled and then re-enabled. (It re-enables itself.)
So if you want to power-trade for emeralds, the best method I've found is this, using the farmer (with the brown robe):
1. Trade the farmer pumpkins for emeralds until the pumpkin item is disabled.
2. Close the trade window and wait a few seconds. Does the farmer get the re-enable particle effect? If so, go back to 1. and keep trading pumpkins. (Sometimes you get on a roll and can just trade pumpkins repeatedly.)
3. If the pumpkins didn't re-enable themselves, trade the villager emeralds for bread a few times and close the window to check for the re-enable effect. Repeat this step until either you can go back to trading pumpkins again or the bread item becomes disabled too.
4. If both bread and pumpkins become disabled, then you have to start trading the villager other items, like wheat for emeralds or emeralds for apples/pie/etc. until the re-enable happens.
The majority of the time you can just alternate trading pumpkins->emeralds and emeralds->bread for net positive emeralds and bread. Occasionally you get bad luck and trying to get a re-enable becomes expensive but I've never had a villager become completely disabled yet. They've always re-enabled again eventually.
My experience is that the odds of a villager becoming completely disabled are low enough as to be considered a practically infinite resource. Also since I have a breeder, making e.g. another farmer for powertrading is pretty trivial. I was only initially worried about the villagers who trade books since it's pretty hard to find one who trades some particular book. If a villager who traded some important book ever did become completely disabled it would be an ordeal to find another, but I think this is very unlikely.
If somebody wants to spend time grinding to get emerald blocks I don't really mind since I think the pumpkin farm runs fast enough for this. It might take like an hour or two to trade enough for a stack of emerald blocks, but that's not too bad I guess if you listen to a podcast or something. I've never tried to just sit down and trade in one sitting so I don't know how long exactly it would take. I just go and trade an inventory's worth of pumpkins every so often.
And again, as a reminder, I have villagers that trade basically every book. If you want e.g. expensive armor with every possible enchantment, it doesn't take that long to get. It's much more efficient than trying to use an enchantment table.
Also, cleric villagers (with the purple robe) buy rotten flesh for emeralds and sell glowstone for emeralds. You can therefore convert rotten flesh to glowstone this way with pretty reasonable efficiency. I think it's much faster than mining glowstone in the Nether, although I don't know how it compares to a witch farm (which we don't have yet anyway). I have a couple of rotten flesh farms for this purpose. One is automatic which is here: http://map.athousandpandas.club/#/6217/64/962/max/0/3. I also have another which is an XP farm (similar to the skeleton farm but with a few bells and whistles) which I could describe how to get to.
If there's someone who doesn't actually know how to get to my mesa I could make a post about that although I think most people do right now. I can also answer any questions about villager trading if something's unclear. I think I have a pretty good understanding of how it works now.
Introducing Le Merde Apartments:

These will be completely furnished with wood floors and city views (In stark contrast to the Cheapo Apartments adjacent to them)
Scorp, the second and third floors are yours if you want to make a library, and I'll help you for free with it because it's my building.
Havent had a reason to play Minecraft in a long time, this could be refreshing.

Everything's working as far as I can tell. People just need to feed the cows.

Just so everyone new knows, I give tours whenever I'm on. Just ask for one if you see me.
I extended the main hallway in the Nether (again) and created a slightly better pathway to the nether fortress, Only because I have a portal in that direction
This is kind of random but I've been looking at our overworld paths the past few days. (I took a horse from spawn all the way to my mesa and it got me thinking about it.)
There are existing pathways leading all through the main swath of land, with a few patches missing:

The white pathway is pathway that has existed. I'm not sure who built it but it goes through Breem1337's (or however it's spelled, sorry I forget) house so it could be related his/her stuff.
Red is pathway that I just built.
Cyan is what looks like a train line going between Wildeholdt and Mallen-Tol, although it's inaccessible by foot and incomplete.
Anyway, I think a full pathway would actually be a fun feature for the server and I might keep picking away at it. It's not as fast as Nether transport of course but it's pretty scenic and would be great for giving tours in particular. I think a full trek by horseback from spawn to my mesa would take about 10 minutes. It could be a parallel concern to the train line I guess. I'm not sure how far the plans for that extend.
Inc never finished that part of the railroad because Mallen-Tol was abandoned. However, if people are interested I can take it upon myself to complete it
One problem with connecting it to the existing pathway is that it's inaccessible by foot or horse. I didn't really think about it until I had to ride a horse through that area. That's really a problem with the station design, though. The tracks should be accessible by foot at least in case you lose your cart or something. I had that happen once and had to break my way in to the Wildeholdt station. Not sure if it's still like that. A foot path could be made alongside it, though. The new dirt path block makes building paths through grass areas pretty fast.
Anyway, I was contemplating working on it as well. I have a pretty large amount of stone but it's far away. There's a section of track here that needs to be finished (edit: nevermind, I went and took a look and this section is underground now) and then mostly it's just the supports that have to be built. I guess he was never planning on building guardrails but they could be implemented cheaply with iron bars. The only section that's really problematic is the part over the ocean which should presumably be a bridge, because building supports over deep ocean is very impractical.
On a semi-related note of unfinished stuff, I noticed something pretty perplexing when I was looking at the overview. When I was cleaning up the SW corner of spawn, I turned this crossing in to a bridge but it's been reverted to flat path like there is over here. That suggests to me there are plans to raze that whole area too. There's already a huge flat area, another flat area, a half-flat area and an unfinished flat area. I think there are more than enough flat areas for anything anyone will ever build at spawn and it's time to just stop making them. The existing flat space is already larger than spawn city itself and at the current rate of activity it will never be filled in. It will just be a flat area forever. Even if Woolio, Deadpie, SegaSaturn, etc. were still playing it could take a year to fill it all in with buildings.

Two of those three people are still active/semi-active members :v:
Don't you worry though, I've ordered Conor not to flatten any more land. In fact, I've told him to do as little anything...ing to that land at all. He's just tidying up around the edges is all. The land is meant to be a giant reserve, like a central park. And all those other flat areas have a purpose that no one has got around to beginning yet. I think after I'm done with the Punche/Funky to Mallen-Tol line I'll begin making that unfinished flat area a ghetto.
