Wouldn't it be better to have the rails go off into the far corners of the map then instead of all the settlements that surround the central ocean? All that area has been settled and resettled over the months and years. Any unique resource there has long been taken.

You're just irritated that your kingdom imploded and your rail connection got canned.

Don't forget the rooms that got tnt'd by disgruntled sla - I mean "dwarves"
I made a monument to Mallen-Tol to preserve some of the history, it's in Wildeholt. Troubled history, but history nonetheless.
Unfortunately incomplete since I couldn't locate every representative flag of each dwarf.

Questioning the seemingly irrational plan for something is a clear show of irritation for something complete separate from the issue...? Seems like you're just trying to snipe at me for no reason.

Not everyone had flags. IIRC there were a couple that moved in and never played again even.

While I don't endorse my fellow CEO's statements, could you please articulate for me how this is irrational?

The plan was so irrational that you spent several days planning, posting about, and gathering materials for a bridge that remains incomplete to this day.

Well the goal is to give players access to "unclaimed land", though just about everywhere along the coastline of that sea has already been claimed at one point or another.
So if that's the goal, wouldn't it make more sense to send a rail line out to the map edges?

You realize that the bridge, though uncompleted, was made out of stone.
Having built a base inside of a mountain, stone was literally a resource I was giving away for free. I didn't "spend time gathering materials" for it at all.

It's pretty sad that you don't realize how awful it looks when the only thing you bother, or are even able to criticize me on, is the subjective use of the word "gathering". I can only imagine the cobble in that nuclear bunker you call a kingdom got up on its own and rolled into place.
You're criticizing a railroad that you were potentially going to be the crown jewel of, calling a perfectly reasonable project that you yourself had a significant hand in, "Irrational". This, for me at least, conjures the image of a petty fool with an axe to grind, trying to cut ones nose off in spite of their face.
The only idiot I see being destroyed here is you.
What the fuck is your problem with me, all I'm saying is that there may be a different way to achieve your goal. I'm not "criticizing" it as something stupid or terrible, I'm not saying you shouldn't build the damn thing at all.
What the fuck is your problem with me, all I'm saying is that there may be a different way to achieve your goal. I'm not "criticizing" it as something stupid or terrible, I'm not saying you shouldn't build the damn thing at all.
You clearly said it was irrational, expressing your discontent to build it. And I think his issue, among mine and other's is, that despite having been inactive on the server for some time, and having done nothing in the past half a year, you find it necessary to tell us what is and isn't irrational in the first place. Now, I get it if you want to remain active in the community, but if all you're going to do is shoot down others' ideas in this thread, and contribute nothing of sustinance, then you are just basically shitposting for all I care. You're not even a voice of reason anymore, you literally just sit there and chime in your two cents about what, usually I, can't do.
As for the actual argument, you still haven't manifested anything concrete; you say there is no unclaimed land, yet I believe today I was working on the railroad in the middle of nowhere. And so I went mining. And found resources. Tons. The land is clearly unclaimed, and I'm still south of Mallen-Tol. There are another 2 biomes on this side of the pond that I have to cut through, and it looks to me as if half the forest looks to be unclaimed. And as for "the railroads should go out into the wilderness," where would I build the station? What would I call it? Would it just be a lone building in the middle of nowhere, that when after enough lone people come and mine the resources, a useless shack with a train line running through it? What purpose would it serve? Not only does building in established towns serve that purpose, but it gives players more of a freedom to explore on their own. If I were to build a track into the wilderness, they'd be on a set course. They couldn't explore. All I'm doing is getting them far away from Spawn and into another town, where they could possibly ask for some advice, gather supplies, etc.
Q. E. D.
I think you guys are taking this somehow waaay too fucking personal. I said there may be a better idea and the both of you are taking it as some sort of damnation of your personal character let alone what you're doing in the game ffs.
I'm not telling you or forcing you to change your goal or design or anything, simply saying "Hey, I think this idea is better". Don't like it? That's fine, I'm not telling you to do otherwise. But of course this server's community has devolved into "if you haven't built within the central spawn area, in X amount of time, your opinion is shit and you're a terrible person".
And I haven't been active for two reasons: I haven't had that much time to play and the server isn't updated yet (I'm simply waiting for that instead of changing my settings to do so). But honestly, I think you're right, I should just leave this thread and this server altogether. Somehow, I've drawn the personal ire of some of you for merely stating an fucking opinion and I've noticed a whole lot of players that go on every day have this clique against every other player in the server, whether they're ones that don't go on often or ones that don't directly help build in central spawn area. You guys have to severely double down with huge paragraphs about why a passing comment is somehow shit and load it with personal points against that person that literally has nothing to do with it.

You're twisting this out of proportion.
There is no "clique."I don't know where you're getting that idea and I'm sorry that you feel alienated from the rest of the community. However, literally no one here is stating that we have to build in the central area. You did your best to build far away on your projects, which, while having good intentions, ultimately failed. And while yes, you aren't forcing us, this argument somehow devolved from the topic and instead began to be an attack on your personal character, which I personally will apologize for. But to say that this is somehow being taken personal is completely beyond the point.
We all here know that this is a game, and we all understand that it isn't reality. So, while we're here, we undertake these things called projects. Usually, we finish them through teamwork and cooperation, and when we're done, we move onto the next one. They serve no real purpose other than to take up time. I don't think anyone here has anything against you for just expressing your opinions. It's the manner in which you express them that makes them irate. Somehow, every argument or opinion you pose manages to turn into all of this drama bullshit that you put a spin on to make it seem like it's our fault.
I tried to build shit with you. We had plans, and you went off and did your own thing and left me in the dust. You flattened a shitton of land and did nothing with it, and then later would come back and yell at me for doing the exact same thing. You built a thriving sub-community, and through no fault but your own and another player (whose name slips me at this moment), it failed. I think the only reason that this happens, is, perhaps that you take this too personally.
And don't give me any of that "It's just a fucking game, get over yourselves." Don't act like you yourself didn't fall victim to the exact same issue when you had your own town. You made lore for it, and you put your heart into it. All that is fine, but when someone else does something similar and puts their heart into something you seem to all of a sudden get pissy and start drama.
You are currently the only one who believes anything in that shlop of crap that you just posted. There is no "clique," and literally no one cares if you don't go on that often. The thing that irks us all is that you whine and bitch about everything that happens while you're gone. Can you just admit for once that something good can happen that you weren't in the room for?
Also, to both Incoming and you, to avoid shit like this in the future, stop taking attacks on people's personality. It causes nothing but trouble, as you can see. You seriously couldn't find a more appropriate rhetoric than whining about how we take things too seriously, instead of addressing the actual original purpose of this argument?
Like, it's just a fucking game. Get over yourselves.
Because Mallen-Tol was handled calmly and rationally.
I haven't seen this much lack of self-awareness since Gary Johnson's townhall on CNN.
Server is down, update time?
Updated. Let me know if there's any particularly strange behavior.
Massive anti-cheat(?) issues while moving along fences and on grass paths. I am literally stuck and can't move at all.

Or is it lag, I don't at this point. I'll reconnect and try again.

Still happening. I am stranded.
[editline]8th August 2016[/editline]
Update: Zephyrs has fixed the issue.
Finally I can build a mausoleum out of bone blocks
I can confirm that there is no clique, or at least none that I have experienced. I'm terrible at getting on, and I always apologize to you guys for that. But I think the difference here is that I try to stay in touch, and actually connect with people when I'm not on. I don't want to be a stranger just because I don't play minecraft. My opinion is still respected (I think) but I'm not living or dying on whether or not people like the things I have to say because I don't play regularly and as long as they leave the shit I built alone, because it took me forever, then I don't really have any problem with what other people want to do, because they've worked hard on the shit that they've put together too. I think its admirable that some people put all their heart and soul into building creative and wonderful communities like spawn city and Wildeholt.
I guess, to sum up my point. I support rather than criticize. If McGrath wants to build a rail line, he can, I don't care where he wants to go with it.
When you retire from the navy you don't get to call the new captain and tell him where to steer his ship.

Also I've been picking up Stardew Valley recently, and I named my farm Wildeholt Farm after you guys. Just thought I'd mention that.
Looks like updating to 1.10 was a good idea:
