Based on some of El Periodista thoughts. This mainly assumes we the WTC do not go ahead.
We build a new, much larger transport hub on the WEST side of the river. It would be directly WEST of the current station so I don't think much would need to change with the tracks (hopefully). But this would allow to expand it into something bigger and greater including a Nether portal. I thought it might be cool to have one of the edges curved to give a 90degree view of the city across the river. This could become the new spawn point. I wonder if the transport hub could double as a Mall of some sorts? Could house COCKS then?
The Southern and Eastern rail would need to be mainly underground until a suitable point to rise.
A large park will run the centre of the city with tall buildings surrounding it. Roads could increase in size or remain as they are (5 blocks deep) and have some thicker roads, such as surrounding the main park.
The majority of current buildings could stay as they are with the exception of those which are where the new park would be.
We would need to find a new suitable place for the Cartographers Guild, perhaps near the transport hub so as soon as people spawn they can find a map of the world.
Eventually expanding further WEST we would reach Fulsy Field which will be an epic stadium.

I don't really want to move my building in Spawn. My original intent was to have it close to the spawn point so new players can easily see the map there before the begin exploring on their own.

As for the transit hub, I'm working on a few ideas. It'd be interesting to have a large hub just outside of the main city and then have Citadel be a center-city station for people looking to go there.
Seems interesting, I haven't been playing much Minecraft lately but I'd love to check out what people have built and maybe build a statue or two myself.

It's sitting right where the history museum would go, so I think just changing the proportions a bit and giving it a new facade would tie it into the project pretty well. Cartography guild and history museum sounds like a perfect mix.

I'm liking this map as well. That's a more usable layout than what we have now, without disrupting too much.
Can we take a vote on the WTC real quick? I have a feeling that's going to be a persistent issue in future development, and the scale doesn't work for spawn right now. I think we should allocate a piece of land for it out of the way, so we're not hemming ourselves in with a six-month project.

Hey guys I've been checking the new map ideas and see my wooden hotel is in the middle of the future park (Lol irony). So, in response, do you all think I should relocate it or just take it down and start a higher-tier skyscraper?
I think a luxurious revival of your hotel would be a nice thing to have in spawn.

I find this amusing because I had a a dozen or so so 2b2ters whitelisted plus people added directly from 4chan threads on the old server. Most didn't play often, but only like 3 of them ever caused problems. (OK they blew the test server the fuck up on several occasions, but that's kind of the point of snapshot servers and I did directly link them in 4chan threads without a whitelist.)
