I kind of wish there was a formal building built over top the skelly grinder by spawn, I don't like those stairs open to the world where mobs can crawl down or hang around it as I come up. And a horse stable to go with it if possible, because that's how I reach it.
It's also surprisingly hard to spot, to be honest.
Thanks to the help of myusername468 (And itzpred in the early days), the stadium plot is now ready. Construction will probably commence sometime tomorrow. If not, over the next few days

Found that cheeky chappy on my way to a mushroom island. Looks like hitting that world border was MC nudging me this way :D
2nd trade which is awesome. Fairly cheap. The area is pretty safe, half surrounded by water. I have lit the surrounding area and have secured 90% of the villagers indoors. There are a couple fairly useless ones which have made their way into a boat. Some trades are locked out so will require an emerald or so to kick start but shouldn't take much. I have expanded the farms somewhat and created a sizeable sugarcane area. There is a farmer which is great for emeralds, about 7/8 Librarians/Cartographers in total, a Fletcher and a couple Shepherds. Coordinates below. It's quite a distance from spawn.
I've got a few books from him and have left a variety of materials in chests for other people to use for trading.
I would suggest someone coming to help secure him properly. Alternatively I can move him via boat somewhere? The best route to get here is on the water as I have not made a Nether Portal. Early days!
I would also suggest bringing lots of carrots, wheat, potatoes, melons, pumpkins, white wool, string, compasses, paper, books etc.

Given the international implications of this discovery, New Tiber would like to set up an outpost at the location and begin exporting material to the village immediately.
Anyone is welcome to visit/build there. I figured it would be a communal settlement should we choose to leave the mending villager there. Just make sure everything is as lit up as possible.
There are some cartographers which should unlock more paper for emerald trades if you trade with them a compass first. So bring some with you if you visit.
Also remember that, in the case of a zombie raid, it does not matter what the light levels are. Zombies will spawn anywhere.
Your best bet, if you want that thing to survive, is to move it somewhere else.

I suggested moving him to the nether since there's nothing there that is excessively hostile to villagers. So long as he's not in a nether fortress and not out in the open for a ghast to shoot, he ought to be alright.
And moving him to the nether would make it quicker for everyone to reach him, as well. Would just have put him near the portal and have a reed farm on the other side for paper since water, and thus reeds, can't be placed in the nether.

The other alternative, which is probably a bit extreme, is to slaughter the other villagers so the population is too low to launch a zombie siege.
And now I'm considering constructing a villager vault in the nether.

Fairly dangerous place for players turns out to be a fairly safe place for villagers, kind of odd :v:

I quite like how my lighthouse turned out.
In unrelated news, would it be ok to organized another wither war this week? Far, far from spawn and anyone's base this time.
I was pondering if it's possible to create a wither chamber at bedrock somewhere. Create a room just large enough where the initial spawn blast won't hit the blocks and make several layers of obsidian around it so to keep him locked in. Then have a string of dispensers filled with arrows shoot across the room to damage him until swords are needed.
Would this work?
Regarding the villager, assuming he is in a sealed room, i.e no doors, could we put leaves down around/inside the building to prevent mobs spawning directly near?
He's currently in a 1x1 space so assumed he would be safe, if surrounded by solid blocks, maybe glass.
I'm more than happy to move him, but that creates risks in itself. I could boat him back home somewhere if someone can prepare a safe house ready to drop him off. The entire route would be via sea with no land stops. Or like Scorp suggested, we could build a safe house in the nether surrounding the portal and take him in there, it would be close to the original village so would be easy to gather trade resources still, and we can set up nether links too. Again, this is something we'd ned to prepare before hand and I wouldn't want to do it alone incase anything bad happens.

pressure plate + comparitor would be btter fr firing arrow
or you could have tnt can to blow witherer up
it woud be more fun if it was more dangerous thou so I say make battlements

Someone make helms deep and then we can battle! lol:

Or a colosseum of sorts. Could ask Pretender to revert back any destructions once the Wither is defeated so we can battle it again.

Fulsy is working on a colosseum but I doubt he'll permit people with wither fight in it
[editline]10th April 2017[/editline]
if we could find some valley/pit in which to make the thing and have an obsidian net over the top of it to stop mr wither from escaping

It wouldn't be the first time Fulsy' plot has been turned into a Wither spawning ground :p

There's a way to spawn it at the top of the Nether without it getting free or doing any real damage.
I've got a large amount of free iron tools for people to grab if they want.

They're in this shack near my building.

Just please don't be greedy!
As I mentioned Jammy, that sure puts my free flowers/saddles/fish buildings to shame :v
I think it would be nice to have a building in spawn dedicated to giving free stuff to new joiners. Simple stuff like armour/tools/food.

There was one but it got ripped down, I went looking for it a while back because I knew it had an anvil in it but then realized it was gone.

But what's the fun in that, though
There was one but it got ripped down, I went looking for it a while back because I knew it had an anvil in it but then realized it was gone.
I moved the anvil and enchanting table to the second floor of One Inc Centre to then be eventually moved back into the bottom floor of Two Inc Centre, where they were originally.
Perhaps the best thing to do for the Wither is to collect a massive amount of obsidian, make a 30 block high wall, maybe 20 or 30 blocks in diameter and have that be the death arena. Have a small obsidian airlock so we can go in after we die and so he doesn't follow us if we have to get out.
Probably add a roof too, but with holes for sunlight to get in because any torches placed in there will get destroyed in ensuing battles.

you wouldnt even need a solid wall, 2x2 holes are probably too small for mister wither
I have about 30 some obsidian. I'll work on getting more tonight, there's a pool of lava down in my mine I've been wanting to get rid of for sometime now anyway.
I like the idea of using tnt to blow the wither up
Could someone PM me the discord link please?

I did not realize that AFK Fishing buildings gave you so many mending fishing rods. Only fished for about 2 hours and I have 3 or 4 already.
