*THUD* The sound of Frosty's Voidwalker echoed throughout the ship as he landed just a little bit too hard. Hopefully this didn't disturb or interrupt anyone. As he entered the ship, he headed straight into the Frosty-Zone to ponder about his past some more.
Hariim answers the ping after working through a particularly peculiar section of the ship's internal computer systems. He still can't figure out how some of the shit on this crate works. "Hariim here. Maddox said I need to have you program a smart chip in my new weapon to work with my tacnet hud. I was also wondering if you could look at my suit's computer, seeing as how you're so concerned with it being archaic."
Maddox shook his head as Johannes kept asking about the fingerprint sensors. He put his left hand on Johannes's shoulder and gave him a dead-serious look. "Nanomachines, son." ((Stop arguing with my flawed sci-fi logic, pretty much everyone in the crew who specialize in combat got full sets of gear including gloves and despite that the MAWS-series got fingerprint locks.))

Jag took it's moment of laxity to mediate within the barren environment of the void within it's room in the Muramasa. Uninterested in whatever this station had to offer the scared corsair, mostly due to it's colorful reputation among Sol. It's own name carrying enough weight around the security forces to crush an man in minutes. Nevertheless, it's 'mediation' war far deeper then normal. Not simply just relaxing it's state of mind or focusing on pressing thoughts. Jag decided to open it's own presence to that of the greater void in pursuit of answers. The Sanghvi in particular sought out the lingering essence of what the soft-carbon researchers have taken to calling to the Librarian or the prime organism. These names meant nothing to an entity far beyond compression their limited minds. Even the psychically powerful sapience races outside that of the chosen within the Mantle could hope to barely comprehend it. It's own physical destruction merely drove it's presence into an indefinite slumber. It's dreams were eternal within the depths of the grand void, through now it's was an labyrinth of shattered visions. There was much still left to be found within this never ending abyss. For Jag it was necessary for it's own atonement within it's eyes. ----- "Good." Red simply muttered, the Argos operative took an moment to look over his shoulder before back at Yanim and Rask. "Now, you both know I don't like to keep you two standing about for too long so just give us the word when you are ready to go down and we can head down to the carrier." Red said, putting his arms crossed behind his back.
A piece of Terran classical music was once again playing throughout the bridge, Yuga sitting in the captains chair with her legs crossed and waving her hand in tune to the music, her other hand resting on the armrest with a freshly brewed chak tea cup. Yuga was in a really good mood. The previous operation had been completed with almost no set-backs, the company had earned a nice bonus, Yanim had become slightly more approachable and the vote for the upcoming mission seemed to be going her way. Yuga stood up from her chair, taking her teacup with her and went to stand at the observation window, looking out over the tranquil landscape. Her passion for Terran classical music had manifested itself when she was introduced to it roughly a year ago by Admiral Ivan Zhaneys, whom she had met at a starport on Luna while transporting an Archturian solar crystal to a collector in Terranos. Zhaneys were one of the very few humans that Yuga whole-heartedly admired and respected. While easy-going and a bit of a comedian, he had also shown himself to be able to take important matters seriously. This and his taste for the fine arts had given Yuga a new view of the Terran race, shedding a bit of positive light on the young race she had mostly looked down upon before the encounter. Yuga took a small, slow sip from the cup and looked out on the great carrier that Yanim had acquired. She wondered what her contractor would actually do with it, seeing as Yanim had sounded quite enthusiastic when they last spoke.
Johannes stares at Maddox for a good thirty seconds before glancing at his shoulder where Maddox's hand was resting. Maddox should notice that Johannes skin was ice cold, even through the clothing. He looks back up at Maddox. "Nano what now? I am a marine, not an engineer. Just-" Johannes sighs and shakes his head. "Ok. Nanowhatchajiggers, fine. Do you have any combat knives?" [editline]24th May 2016[/editline] ((Hey Sega when are you going to post Johannes' stats?))
Maddox suddenly felt an urge to stick his hand into warm water as he noticed that Johannes's skin was ice cold. Literally. He waved with his hand. "Don't matter. As for knives, I have some old terran ones. Why? Need one for your arsenal?"
"Two. I left my last two embedded in the skull of a target. I couldn't get the damn things dislodged. I think he had a metal plate in his head or something. Do you have anything besides standard metal blades?"
Maddox nodded and walked up to a large metal locker. He tapped in a keycode and opened it up, revealing several shelves containig crates and boxes of varying sizes. He picked a smaller military box, took it out and locked the storage locker. He put the box on the equipment table next to Johannes's weapons and popped it open revealing three shiny, razor-sharp, vibroblades. "Vibroblades, made out of a special material which mixes alloys with super-heavy metals these knives have been forged in fires that'll make even you sweat. Extremely sharp and durable these knives could outlive you if you take care of them. These ones in particular have been modified by yours truly to penetrate lighter armors." Maddox picked one of the knives and pulled it out of its sheath, holding the blade he extended his hand, motioning for Johannes to inspect the knife itself. "These type of blades aren't from your time and these three blades in particular are based on the field knives used by the Sol Marines stationed on Mars. It's a true survivor's tool."
Johannes takes the blade and tests the balance first, after finding it satisfactory he tosses it up and catches it a few times to test the weight. First by the blade, then the handle, blade again, handle again. He nods, seemingly in approval, before he twirls the knife around by the crossguard switching between several different grips and stances. With each grip and stance change he takes a few test stabs or swings, in a safe direction of course. When he seems satisfied he stops, smiles, and hands the knife back to Maddox hilt first. "I like it. Got holsters for them? Preferably electromagnetic, that's how most of my contact points on my armor work."
Maddox nods and tosses over the sheat. "Magnet is on the back. Also works with MOLLE rigs."
Johannes catches it and inspects it. "Great. I'll take the two SDF Marine knives."
((Sorry we haven't gone forward much. Deathgrunt asked me to wait until he could post an extension of the Red/Yanim conversation, which he sort of did this morning.)) The Office of the Commissary on Spirra was buzzing with activity as war approached. The nondescript, concrete building was one of the largest in the capital city of Ts'ka aside from the Collective Planetary Headquarters, which was still on "extended emergency recess" since the coup attempt. There was a knock at the door of the Commissar herself, Mira Vor'Pangn, who looked up to find herself eye to eye with Lieutenant Ryvik Sidikan of the GKVR, a staff officer and her immediate superior. "[Mira, I've been busy speaking with interrogators all morning. What was it you wanted to tell me earlier?]" the young man asked. Mira swallowed hard. Something about the all-black uniforms of the GKVR made her uncomfortable. Perhaps it was because she had come to associate the third bureau with some of the most insidiously racist and violent young people that her nation had to offer. Ryvik was no exception, having achieved the rank of Lieutenant at 18 years of age, he gave the impression of being an agency prodigy in the worst way. However, the truth was much more complicated. Ryvik was considered a "special asset" to his commanding officer's staff, having intimate knowledge of a particular enemy of the state. ((To newcomers- a kanad is considered an "adult" at age 15. He's older than Yanim was in Journey Across the Galaxy. The GKVR doesn't normally employ people his age, but it's not like he's a child.)) "[Well, you see,]" the nervous Commissar replied, "[you don't have a permanent office so... when they try to contact you...]" "[Yes, I know. You have an encrypted data packet for me.]" Ryvik's deep, reddish eyes were impatient. Mira sank into her chair under their intensity. "[I authorize you to decrypt it. Let's see it here.]" Mira's eyes widened as Ryvik suddenly pulled a chair around behind her desk, positioned so that he could see the same screen that she was looking at. However, he didn't immediately sit. He stood straight up so that his sidearm dangled from his hip in her periphery vision. "[Well?]" he snapped. Mira quickly opened the file and ran a routine which revealed its contents. Another officer, a phirin with emerald eyes and short, raven-black hair appeared onscreen. "[Lieutenant Ryvik, sir, this is Commissar Teroki Moak from the Prospera office. It is my duty to inform you that Case YS... SNCoS T/E 82-]" she read slowly from another screen, "[-has been spotted in my jurisdiction, last sighted January 12th. Per General Vorokar's general memo regarding the case, you've been contacted directly through high-priority channels, and, if I understand correctly, are now the chief operating officer of this Commissary for the immediate future. I've also set about arranging for immediate transportation to facilitate your reassignment. Safe travels, sir.]" Ryvik cursed under his breath. "[I knew it...]" "[Sir?]" Mira prodded, cautiously. "[You are aware of my primary case commission, aren't you, Commissar?]" "[Oh, this is about that 'Terika' character, correct?]" Mira responded. Ryvik glared at her. "[Her name is Yanim Sidikan; she's a disgrace to the clan, but we don't humor aliases in this agency,]" he corrected. "[I'm sorry,]" Mira said, shrinking even further into her seat. "[Do you think she had anything to do with the crashes?]" "[It's a reasonable suspicion. I thought she would head to Prospera, considering her activity on Itara. We believe she's trying to disrupt our ability to trade into human space. But instead, I've got some moronic camera jockey claiming he 'saw her' in Ts'ka and so I had to come running, only to get tied up in this coup and the investigation.]" "[I approved that report. What were we actually seeing?]" Mira asked. "[Some kind of copy-cat act. She looked a bit like her, but not every female terrorist is Yanim Sidikan.]" "[How can you be so sure that it wasn't her?]" Mira asked, more curious than skeptical. "[Yanim was my sister,]" Ryvik replied, almost under his breath. "[I know what she looks like, Commissar.]" "[I'm sor-]" "[Shut up.]" Ryvik cracked the knuckles on his right hand. "[There's nothing to be sorry about. Blood ties don't entitle her to any sympathy I wouldn't afford to each citizen of the Collective. Do I make myself clear?]" "[Yes sir.]" "[Good. I have a shuttle to catch, but by the time I arrive on Prospera, Yanim will have likely escaped. Confirm to the General Staff Office that I've departed my post as of 0900. I'm also returning chief authority of the coup investigation to your desk, Commissar.]" "[Yes sir.]" "[And one other thing,]" Ryvik said. "[Yes sir?]" "[Raskada Rozel has been transferred to the auspices of Bureau III. As a veteran, he's too likely to endure standard interrogation procedure. My colleagues will handle the rest, and you will receive results within the coming days.]" "[...Yes sir.]" --- "...just give us the word when you are ready to go down and we can head down to the carrier." Red said. "We have some final obligations with the Muramasa," Yanim replied. "We cannot lift off yet, but we would quite like to see the interior of that ship." ((New crew stats will be posted tomorrow.))
Johannes catches it and inspects it. "Great. I'll take the two SDF Marine knives."
Maddox tossed him a second knife. "Take good care of the blades.
"We have some final obligations with the Muramasa," Yanim replied. "We cannot lift off yet, but we would quite like to see the interior of that ship."
"Understood," Red said, putting his arms at ease. "Most of the repair work have been finished and the vessel should be star born within the hour." Red then glace over to left then the right of him to his robotic benefactors for an brief moment. "Our Benefactors have also decided to offer the Terika-Belladonna Company an additional asset to the Muramasa's crew, should you two chose to accept." The operative said before the two Benefactors sharply turned to towards the right of the room. "I'll fill you two in on the way down," Red said while gesturing towards the elevator down the right hallway. "She should already be done with her assignments." High Councilor Quint Wayford entered the room with decisive steps. To his right was his trusty friend and administrator Keith Vale who had a stern look on his face. Wayford nodded towards the others inside the room who had gathered around the crescent-shaped table. As he sat down, Vale remained standing next to Wayford. Wayford put his hands together. "Gentlemen", began the High Councilor of Sol. "Thank you all for coming on such a short notice." He observed the men and their assistants or in some cases, second-in-commands. Present at the table was Wayford himself, Vale, SSOID director Talwin Williams, Sol Interior Guard director Fahad Khan, Sol Inter-System Police & Sol Emergency Response Police Unit chief Carlos Reyes, Lord Admiral Viktor Zhaneys and Lord General Kaspar Cross. For these men to be in the same room as the High Councilor himself was a first and it wasn't to bring good news. Men and women with ties to all of these Sol government subsidiaries in one way or another had tragically been killed the night before when a unknown force attacked the headquarters of the SSOID. Not only had SSOID agents been killed, SISP officers on the scene had either been killed or wounded and ex-SERPU officers working as SSOID tactical operators had also been wounded and killed in the ensuing firefight. Ontop of that two soldiers, Lieutenant James Warren and Mercury of the Boome Marines, who had been sent to safeguard the transport on behalf of Lord General Cross himself. The firefight had shook the neighbourhoods of central Terranos as nobody in the surrounding areas had seen anything that would suggest that a miliatry force was gathering for a strike. The people were outraged as Sol's finest had died next to the eyes and ears of the Sol system. A powerful statement made by a unknown enemy. Wayford sighed. "Let's not waste any time on formalities." He unbuttoned his shirt and loosened the tie. "We're at war with an unknown enemy. That much we know. Now they've made not only one, but two attacks right at the heart of Terra. The people are demanding blood. Justice. Answers." He paused and looked at each of the attending men in their eyes. "I trust you all with my life. You all have your current positions simply because there's nobody who can excel at their respective duties better than you. With that said, there's no need for the black tape. Director Williams, what do you have?" The attention of the room switched to the director of the SSOID who had several files infront of him. "High Councilor, my agents have been working close with the SISP-" he nodded towards Chief Reyes "-and the SIG." He nodded towards Director Khan. "We can't tell you who our unknown enemy is but the evidence we've gathered last night combined with info gathered from the Terranos spaceport, Novithus and the dead commando makes it obvious that whoever the third party is they have alot of influence over the Lunar Children and the Divinity Creed. While the body of the deceased commando soldier was lost in last night's attack we still have datalogs with info from the initial observations and testing carried out by SSOID specialist Vega. We've cross-referenced these intital observations with samples taken from Divinity Creed soldiers on Novithus and the weapons used in the Terranos spaceport attack." Williams paused and looked Wayford dead in the eye. "We have a match on some of the materials. Whoever is working in the shadows, they've given the Creed fanatics and Lunar Children terrorists significant help with manufacturing and possibly training, not to mention crucial intel." He then started handing out files showing autopies of the unknown strike force which had attacked the SSOID HQ. "As for the attack last night, the men and women who carried out the attack were not Solborn. They had no previous IDs in our systems so I had to pull some strings. An UGC contact ran their identities and got multiple hits from different colonial worlds in the fringes of the galaxy. While close to systems under control of the Divinity Creed and the Lunar Children these colonies are still far away from their respective influences. My educated guess is that if our enemy is hiding somewhere, it's out there." "I recommend we send a strikeforce immeadiately then." Said SISP & SERPU chief Reyes. "He's not done. Isn't that right Williams?" Asked Khan. Director Williams nodded. "There's two more things, one; even if they're out there it'd take a massive amount of resources to organize an operation in the fringes. Secondly, one of last night's attackers is still alive. He alongside a small number of other individuals are here in central Terranos." Wayford raised an eyebrow. "Repeat last, director?" Asked Cross who was now leaning forward. "We've found their safehouse. I have two operatives scouting it as we speak. All I need is for the High Councilor to make the call." Wayford looked at the men in the room. "If I'm going to approve of this you all need to work together. I want SSOID to scout every angle before we hit. I want the SIG to double their shifts untill we give them the all clear, if even one of the terrorists escapes they would most likely retaliate. Ontop of that I want the SISP and SERPU to lock down the area, I want a three block-wide perimeter with snipers and response teams on standby. Notify the Sol Emergency Services incase we need paramedics or firefighters. Don't forget the VTOLs." He looked at Zhaneys and Cross. "The Sol Tactical Warfare Group will handle the raid. I want Captain Reed and the SNV Shadow to provide orbital scans. Put three squadrons on standby incase these terrorists will attempt to flee. Tell this Gladius-character that he'll be leading the raid with the assistance of strikeforces Xerxes, Zeus and Ares. Oh and Cross, bring your two men from last night. I'm sure they're eager for payback. Get to work."
Maddox tossed him a second knife. "Take good care of the blades. A sharp knife can be the only thing between you and death." He closed up the box and returned it to the locker.
Johannes catches it deftly, and slips both into one of his jacket pockets. "Well, yeah. How do you sharpen a vibroblade though? Is it the same as steel?"
Maddox opened up one of his chestpouches and pulled out a small black stone. "Use this. It's called a voidstone, basically compressed meteorite minerals, both rock and metal, treated in special facilities. It ain't cheap so don't lose it."
"Great. Thanks." Johannes takes the voidstone and slips it into a different pocket. "Do you do armor work too? Or just weapons?"
"Armor too, why?" Maddox crossed his arms. "You want an upgrade?"
Johannes shrugs "Just on the actual armor side of it. Do not fiddle with any of the internal systems or the piping. That all needs to stay exactly as is. I just was hoping to get a little more protection out of it."
Maddox grunted. "I guess I could you improve it. But I need resources and your armor schematics."
Johannes hefts the duffel bag off the floor and hands it to Maddox. "Here's the armor. I don't have schematics. What kind of materials do you need?"
Hariim thinks for a moment, accessing information on Johanne's old armor and its swanky retro helmet. He's not sure that current computer technology will be compatible with the 150 year old suit that Johanne wears. "Listen dude. I dunno how compatible your old tech is gonna be with our newer stuff. I can probably rework the entire system in your suit, I modify my own gear daily, but no promises. You might just have to get new hardware. Y'know, some upgrades to your tactical capabilities and all that jazz."
Johannes keys his commlink to Hariim "That's not going to work. The suit is linked to me and is very specific to the modifications they made to me. A new suit wont do. The computer system for it is in a compartment in the condenser pack, a new computer should fit inside just fine as long as parts haven't gotten bigger.

After an hour spent purely into that of mental preparations, Jag was ready to go through with this dangerous endeavor once more. It's mind and presence where now interlink in an seemly unbreakable unity. Jag then took one last moment before delving into the vast void. "Looking for some grand excuse to justified your petty sins?" An familiar voice scorned. Jag shook it's head in disbelief, holding steadfast in it's practice. She let out an muffled laugh at the hunched over Obelisk, still not giving an inch towards her satisfaction. "What? Captain," She said with passive aggressive tone. "Did you not state that you would be clear as day? It's Was on your word I recall." Jag continue to hold itself back, through ever one of her words slowly ate away at it's mind. "Oh, yes. I just remembered," Her brittler words followed with the sounds of footsteps drawing closer. "That you don't have one, because you have nothing." She berated. "Nothing to show after, what?" Her words becoming more and more harsh as she went on. "15 years of your pathetic failures in a doomed, stupid quest. One that you have carefully laid out over dozen years ago." Her words breaking through to the jaded Sanghvi's core. "And what do have after all these years, Captain?" Jag flinch, now reaching it's breaking point. "Nothing." She said point blank towards it's kneeling, scared head. Jag rose it's face slowly to met with her dim, fated eyes. The wounds that sealed her fate still bleeding, slowly dropping onto the steel floor between them. "Haven't you learned anything?" The Ayr questioned, Jag's head now twitching. Her and it's eyes now locked upon one another. "That you are nothing but a sect, an deeply flawed shard diffing endlessly among the innumerably stars......One that will be shattered and not an single soul will even bat a eye to look at the failure of an hollow, callous creature....." She droned. Jag held it's still glare onto her face. "Leave." The Sanghvi said sternly, through baring an small hint of desperation in it's tone. She tilted her sightly before letting out an long laugh, suddenly throwing her head back while Jag slowly lowered it's own in shame. "Even your words have become...Hollow, have the years really taken that much of toll on you?" She said down to Jag while walking around the tortured Obelisk. She let out an chuckle while step around upon it's torn cloak, drops of her blood slowly dripping onto it's pale surface. It felt the blood as it slowly stained it's cloak, another remainder to add to it's most grievous of failures. Jag tired with all of it's fleeing might to recover it's focus, desperately holding onto whatever waving strength in the face of it's belligerent shadows. The Ayr turn back to look over the Sanghvi's tired shoulder. It's head slowly diffed down, covered in darkness as it faced the barren floor. "I wounder?, Perditus..." Hoil muttered. "Will Freelancer Taylor and the rest of the Muramasa end with the fate as I?" After an spit second, Jag broke completely. The Sanghvi turned itself to face it's shadow and launched itself ferociously towards her. She continued to laugh, sidestepping it's attack while the enraged Obelisk landed next to her. It pressed with an savage swig from arm then the other followed by it's additional limbs. Each one of them narrowly missing it's target, her laugh growing louder and louder with every failed shrike missing it's target again and again. Jag violently ran towards her, attacking every at least ten times a second. Ruthlessly throwing itself around the round to attack the Ayr. Yet she simply and gently steep back from the berserking Obelisk, calmly evading each blow with ease. Jag rapidly dashed back before doing another all out attack towards her. Every limb on it's body aimed and ready slash her apart. It did not take long for Jag to realize it's lapse in judgement after thrashing the room's wall, nearly breaking into the next room with it's talons. The Sanghvi then took an moment to breath before carefully ripping itself out from the it had destroyed wall. Bits of wires and shattered pipes covered the surrounding floor as leaks of oils and fuels were sprayed across the barren room. Jag thoroughly looked over the empty room. Relived to find that the apparition of the void was gone, through it's own guilt still remained.
Maddox picked up the duffel bag and put it on the table. "I don't know. I need to scan it first."
"It's a medical robot, isn't it?" Rask said with a smile. "Keh, yeah, the med crew could use some help. That's for sure." Yanim eyed him sidelong. "[Not just a robot.]" She then turned to the gynoid and gave a quick kanad salute. "Spaska... I am Yanim Terika, and this is Rask Vor'Pangn. What do you call yourself?" --- ((Blorgyboy wanted me to do a set of rolls to see who won that videogame, but he couldn't be bothered to send me a stat update for his character sooooo...)) The race was down to the last stretch- there was no telling who was going to take the checkered flag when suddenly, cruelly, the screen went dark. For a moment, the players froze, before Bucky finally noticed Neasha leaning into the doorway, a tablet in hand. She smiled smugly as the room filled with groans. "Oh, look at that- the game turned off. Also, it's just occurred to me that this might be the last time Yanim, Rask, and I might ever be on the ship," she explained, "and you know what? It's a filthy mess. When is the last time anyone ever swept this hallway? Is this the impression you want to leave the boss with? However, I've realized that characters tend to carry multiple weapons. In order to simplify things, if your character has any weapon created by Maddox, I will assume that he has improved all weapons possessed by your character and grant the DMG boost to the other weapons. P.S. Everyone else needs to PM me with stats updates. If you get into combat without updating your stats, I will use your existing stats. In other words, your character will suck and let the whole crew down.))
