(( In all seriousness though, I do hope he isn't coming off as edgy. ((Hey! :saddowns: ))
((Just kidding Popsicle Numero Dos.))
Bucky grumbles in frustration and switches over to Yuga's channel. "Yuga? I've tried contacting Frosty, but he won't land so I can make repairs. He sounds.... different. I think something's wrong. He might be hurt, or just off the deep end."

The pilot was a sitting duck with his hazardous-environment parachute shining like tinfoil through the fog, providing his attacker with two acceptable targets- Frosty(?) could kill the pilot with a clean shot, or simply destroy the parachute with a laser shot and watch the Peacekeeper plummet to his death. The pilot's fate was never in question. The only true question is whether the starfighter would survive long enough to accomplish the deed and return to base.
CH Estimate: 5/9
Actual: 2
Roll Failed.
Roaring in, straining to keep the fighter on-target despite a slowly deadening stick, Frosty perforated the parachute while haphazardly rolling over. Midway through the maneuver, he caught sight of the pilot's form up close: a tetrian, looking more like he was drowning than falling. His arms extended over his head and reaching for the ropes of his parachute and watching the insulated fabric tear away around him, he scarcely had time to picture the face of a loved one before crashing feet-first into a rooftop at terminal velocity and deflecting limply into the ally below.
Enemy Eliminated.
Meanwhile, there was a horrible buffeting within the cabin of the starfighter as the systems issued their final, critical warnings- brace for impact. The uncontrolled rolling prevented the craft from automatically ejecting its occupant. The sound of shearing metal tore through the cockpit as instrumentation proved inadequate to diagnose what was happening. Outside, the metal shell of the fighter's damaged wing had peeled back from the drag and the entire wing was ripped loose from the airframe. In an instant, all remaining control was lost and the fighter, traveling at subsonic, yet blistering speed, hurtled into the city below. Smashing headlong into a building, the other wing was torn away the cigar-like body tumbled end over end, shattering the canopy and burning in brilliant colors as the plasma power cells ruptured and discharged. The craft exploded through a final wall before hitting the planet's surface in an empty lot between apartment buildings, burying itself in the dirt as it came to rest in a muddy ditch.

He was warned.

"[What just happened!? What are we looking at?]"
"[Hell if I know, woman. Contact Yuga and get a report.]"
"[Is anyone on the ground in that area?]"
"[No way, the away team's with the APC, and the Muramasa is keeping a low profile.]"
Yanim and Rask observed the reports coming in from the data-link, almost frozen, until finally the former set her communicator to contact Yuga directly. The situation was already precarious, but this disaster threatened to derail the whole mission.
---
As the ship's computer confirmed the destruction of Frosty's starfighter in the outskirts of Vohmdash, the captain received contact from her distant chief commander. Yanim's voice seemed grave, but tempered.
We have just received data which suggests our fighter pilot has been shot down. Can you confirm?
Yuga answered in the affirmative. She knew just as well as Yanim that not only was Frosty likely killed in the crash, but that his body was now in a difficult position to reach. With the ground crew at the gates of the Dyatiq secure zone, and their eventual destination on the far side of the mountains, they would be unable to return and retrieve Frosty's body. The captain was forced to consider the proper course of action.

The APC came to a halt at the well-policed entrance, queuing behind another military vehicle which was being extensively inspected by the guards. While Hariim worked quickly with the help of Frostbyte to find a way to bypass security, Johannes braced himself for a quick attack, to be unleashed in case plan A went awry.
Hariim + Johannes
CH Estimate: 3/10 + 2/10 = 1/2
Actual: 1
Roll Failed.
Within microseconds after accessing the security system and uploading his viruses, a highly sophisticated counter-espionage program kicked in and neutralized the foreign code. Hariim, surprised to find such a well-designed (and fast!) program working against him, far worse than anything he encountered on Prospera. The one saving grace- he and his AI associate were able to disconnect from the grid before his own position could be discovered. The vehicle in front cleared out of the way and the APC pulled forward. A group of soldiers approached the unexpected APC from all angles, there were eight of them in all.
"Open your hatches, all of them," a kanad voice squawked. From between the slats, Taylor could see the commander of the security team, brandishing his weapon in such a way that made it clear that he felt no trust for the occupants. In the following seconds, the crew would need to make its moves.
Johannes ducks down out of the turret housing into the main cabin of the APC and looks up at Taylor. "Ma'am, Orders?"
Meanwhile, despite the carnage in the skies, and the Muramasa's attempt at "stealth", Owen received a message from a familiar address.
Owen glanced at the message, saw the sender, and skimmed through it. Because of the situation being in flux, he didn't have time to read the whole message. Owen simply muttered, "great timing, dad"
(( RIP Frosty. ????-2384. He flew straight into the arms of Jesus. ))
When the starfighter did a hit and run on the pilot, Moloch was overjoyed. That was what he was waiting for. There's only one person in the entire galaxy that he knew would kill an ejected pilot by trying to skewer them on his craft.
But then the craft began to tear apart midair, and it began to plummet, and he began to worry. Falling starfighter scrap made him run back inside his shuttle. When it finally crashed was when he put the pedal to the metal and flew to the crash site.
Exiting his craft, he cautiously approached the cockpit. It was still hot, smoke was coming out, and spots of it were burning. Looking inside the cracked glass, he was shocked to his core to see who it was.
"!الله أكبر..." [Good God!]
He couldn't bear to see him like this. He immediately tried to force the cockpit open from the outside as the glass was a bit too thick for him to smash open.
"Do not worry, old friend. I will have you out of there in no time..."
Taylor eyed the commander of the security team. They had two options at the moment. Try to persuade them to let them in, or go for the freezing option. Problem was, there were eight of them, and there no way Johannes would be able to freeze them all before one got off a shot. Shit.
There was also the other problem with the persuasion option. These Kanads would be harder to persuade than the UGC peacekeepers. Still, least they had a chance. If it didn't work, they'd gun them down and force their way into the base.
"Ma'am, Orders?"
"Open the hatches. We'll try persuading them first. If that doesn't work, we gun and run." said Taylor.
Maddox nodded and popped open the driver's hatch. He then lowered the rear troop door.
"Howdy." He said nodding towards the peacekeepers.
Jag quietly move among the crew compartment towards the font APC, positioning itself out of sight from the rear door.
The Sanghvi made sure to hide itself in forward diver seat to shield itself from Kanads eyes.
"I'm afraid plan B is already underway, Superior Taylor." Jag said lowly over the comm channel to Taylor.
Johannes blanks his visor, reverting it to the normal white opaque screen, and drops down from the turret into the crew compartment.
"I'm afraid plan B is already underway, Superior Taylor."
Jag had a point. Persuasion probably wouldn't work now, since Hariim's hacking failed. They could check and see that we weren't scheduled to do any maintenance, and they'd probably be detained. Or shot. Taylor sighed, then shouldered her LMG. She opened her own hatch, then gave the order.
"Fuck it. Plan B. Johannes, freeze as many as you can. Light 'em up, people."
"Wish you'd told me that while I was still up in the turret, Taylor." Johannes quickly grabs the knives from his boot sheathes and launches himself out of the APC's rear hatch with his jump jets directly at the nearest soldier, aiming to tackle him and stab the knives into him.
Taylor popped up out of her hatch, LMG raised, and opened fire on the commander of the security forces. Valkyrie, in the back of the APC, leaned out and opened fire with her SMG at one of the peacekeepers. The Cerberus drone, which had deployed its gun during the wait, fired off a massive bolt of charged lightning at the next-to-nearest peacekeeper (as not to hit Johannes). It was one of the enhancements that Valkyrie had given the drone back on the ship, using the Arc Thrower rifle that was in the armory when they had first boarded the Muramasa. She had removed the limiter on the weapon, so the rifle was able to fire lethal bolts of electricity at foes. In this case, the peacekeepers.
Jag swiftly moved towards the armored vehicle's frontal hatch, it's implant linking with that of the APC.
Quickly connecting to it's smoke launchers mounted to the sides of the turret wireless.
Firing out one from the left and then the right in the APC's frontal arc.
The Sanghvi leaped towards the Kanad officer, before being quickly eclipsed in thick, grey smoke.
Through, the font of the APC was now covered in smoke. Jag made sure to mark out targets to it's squadmate's visuals with it's implant.
Limiting the penalties to their attacks while giving the Sanghvi some breathing in it's shrike.
Hariim makes use of his advanced sensor suite and lights up his squad's HUDs with precise tactical data on the arms and armor they're facing. While he's at it, he moves along with Jag. Using his milimeter bandwidth radar and advanced optics, he engages targets through the smoke. His cybernetics automatically network with his squad's suits, providing them with false-color displays showing the positions of all hostiles perceptible to his sensors and eyes.
Hariim's rifle fires 10-gauge reverse-granular-impact slugs tipped with a non-newtonian frangible penetrator. In the base of each slug is a secondary charge for airbursting capability, or for detonation inside a target. The real beauty of this weapon is in its adaptability. With just the standard ammunition Hariim is using, he can effectively and easily engage targets in or out of cover or concealment, and deliver effective direct fire as well. All in one simple package that's linked right into his suite of cybernetics, allowing him to seamlessly integrate it into his natural movements and functions like a perfect extension of his body. His years of SDF Marine Corp experience kick in, guiding him along with Jag. He covers the Sanghvi's six.
Amy had turned on her cloack the moment she heard the Kanad shouting orders. She had a feeling that talking wouldn't work and was right. Once everyone started opening fire, she climbed up on the now empty seat for the 25mm cannon and opened fire on the security team.
Markus ducked down into the APC and leaned against the inner wall.
His large caliber rifle was a pretty bad weapon in this situation.
However he would make the most of it and unlocked one of the rear doors.
He took aim and waited for any of the peacekeepers to open it so he could blast them away immediately.
...
Yuga watched as over the cockpit feed as Frosty made his fiery descent and when the feed was suddenly cut, showing a signal loss text in its stead.
Yuga grimaced, not because Frosty was most likely dead but because they had lost their own fighter and pilot which would make the remainder of the operation even more difficult.
"I hope the two of you are restrained enough to refrain from similar actions" she conveyed to Owen and Vakarus, hinting towards Frosty's reckless flight.
She got up from her chair and realesed some vapors to absorb before slicking her hair back and putting on her hat.
"Disengage the engines, Mr Jackson. Keep the scanners and weapons at your atmost ready, Va'un. We'll remain here until we are cleared to move. The weather should help conceal our location."
She walked down to the holotable and leaned on it, inspecting the dots as the ground team became engaged with the peacekeepers.
Looks like the smooth sailing had come to a stop and they really had to get their hands dirty.
She opened the comms to Bucky, "Release the coolant on the engines, We'll want to mask our heat signature if we wish to.remain hidden."
János noticed that he hadn't received any replies to his message from the crew onboard. While slightly frustrated, he did remember that a mission was taking place at the moment. Maybe it was a good thing no one got distracted by him.
Nevertheless, he didn't want to just do nothing. He sent a message to Yuga;
Captain, as I'm not really doing anything right now, is there anything I can do to help with the current mission at hand?
Yuga recieved Janos' message as she sat down in her chair.
Report to the bridge, we could use any hands here for the mission in Mr M'baals abcense.
János quickly rushed over to the bridge. He stood in front of Yuga's chair.
"Reporting for duty, ma'am."
"Excellent, station yourself at the terminal by the holotable and observe any information that might be of use to the ground team tactically."
She removed her hat and picked up the tea cup, "Did our late fighter pilot ever confide in you what was in that strongbox he was unable to open?"
"As far as I recall, no-" János stopped himself when he realized what Yuga just said.
"Did you just say 'late fighter pilot'?"
Yuga's expression remained unfazed, "Regrettably, Frosty appear to have suffered from a strange case of some kind of uncontrollable rage. His failure to restrain himself have decimated both him and his craft. They are of no further use to us."
János held his hand to his mouth. Despite not having interacted much with Frosty, he still couldn't believe that he had gone under.
"I-I see. I will head to the terminal then," he said, sounding slightly saddened by this development. He walked over and stationed himself at the terminal by the holotable, and began observing for any info the ground team could use tactically.
Maddox fired off several controlled bursts, trying to cover his teammates.
"How come nobody thought of disguising Jag as a POW before we started shooting!?" He yelled over the squad comms.
