Markus let's out a chuckle, "Figured as much, doc. Thought it might be best to 'ave a professional look at this bloody mess." he says with a low friendly voice while looking at Mercy inspecting the damages.
He looks over at Maddox and chuckles, "Ya need to get around more, sonny. Ya get all yer lady speaking skill by practicin' on yer mum?"
Maddox laughed. "Actually your mother taught me my "lady speaking skills"."
Markus laughts slightly, but collects himself when receiving a glare from Mercy for not keeping still.
He looks towards Maddox again, "Well she's a fair lady she is. Hope she taught ya well. But I must say gettin me arm blasted with shrapnel ain't a thing I'm gonna start doin to pick up chicks."
He faces Mercy again, "Ya got a funny accent, miss. Terran?"
((I thought Owen's height of 5'8, while a little short, was at least decent, now you guys are making characters with the AVERAGE of 6 feet. boy I feel silly))
((Edit: so the muramasa still hasn't moved from the dam, or is it airborne again?))
Alex looked at Porter while waiting. "Y'know big guy. You never did tell how you ended up like that. What's the story?"
Porter responded almost immediately, turning towards Alex.
"I'll give you a condensed version, because the battle lasted 3 days. Battle of the now called Holdout Hill. Sol forces including myself had to holdout for, you guessed it, 3 days until Titan carriers came to reinforce. We were evenly matched, but they had much more air support. After 3 days of continuous heavy fire from the opposing side, the Titans came and sent reinforcements down to help us out. By that I mean they replaced us on the battlefield. As we were pulling out, the helicopter I was in got shot down. We crashed, most men were dead, others heavily wounded, and I noticed that my left arm and leg were completely off, laying next to me. I was a Gunnery Sergeant at the time... actually, I still am technically."
"After I healed, both arms gone, I was contacted by a chief scientist telling me I could regain everything through testing. I agreed, and after 3 months," he raises his arms, showing his body, " I was made into what you see before you." he lowers his arms.
"You have any military experience, Alex?" he asks.
Alex listened to Porter's recolection of events. He was impressed to say the least. All the punishment he's taken so far and still standing like it's just inconvenienced him. Big, scary and on his side. That's the ideal working realtionship in this company.
You have any military experience, Alex?
"Does getting sword lessons from Creed knights count?"
"Ya got a funny accent, miss. Terran?"
Mercy nods, "Oui, monsieur. I am from, ah France, on Terra. Ah... it is a very nice place..." Mercy looks off wistfully for a moment before shaking her head.
Mercy reaches into her pocket, taking out a pair of tweezers. clipping them. "Now, hold still for a bit, monsieur, as zis may, ahm... sting, a bit." She says, proceeding to take out some of the smaller shards from Markus' skin, her other hand holding the arm down.
((no i totally wasn't trying to take shrapnel out of the wrong guy))

"Creed knights... they are very formidable foes using their fists and swords. Not so much with guns. I would know, heheh."
"If you were in their military and hand a rank and fought against Sol forces, then yes, you could count as military."
"Got out before they put me out on the field. So I guess I was never in the military. Pleanty of run ins with Sol patrols on a pirate vessel, however."
"Love to have a nice, sporting match with you then. Perhaps wrestling or fencing?"
"How about this. Once this mission is done, we have a spar match. Been a while since I faced someone bigger than me."
Istasha turns and begins working on the coolant system. As much as she liked meeting new people, Sharpe would have her hide if she didn't get a move on. She starts by typing in a few commands on the coolant pump which turn off two of the four split filter pipes so she can change the first two filters, then she reverses it so she can change the other two. Then she types a few commands into the console and diagnostics show up on the screen above it, which she copies into her data pad. After about ten minutes of typing and comparison, she seems satisfied with the results, and then begins the critical purge test. The coolant pump next to Taylor spins up to a higher RPM with a quickly building turbine sound. After about ten seconds, it dies down. "Wonderful. Coolant system seems to be in working order."
Moloch surveyed the strange looking people that had just entered his shuttle. He checked the three other members of János' group for weapons. Sylvia's combat knife and Dio's many many knives went into several glove compartments right next to the pilot's seat, along with János' revolvers. He couldn't do much with Hestia however, as she was a robot, so he just had to keep a close eye on her to ensure she didn't go haywire and try to strangle him mid-flight.
"Is this the rest of your group, or are there more, Mr. János?"
János nodded.
"Yes, that is everyone," he stated, "Let's get going, shall we?"
The engines powered up and the shuttle was ready for liftoff.
"Guide me to your ship."
János stepped forth towards Moloch. He began reciting the coordinates of the ship to Moloch.
Coordinates were set, and the shuttle lifted off. Moloch decided to have some small talk with János to pass the time as he flew there.
"This captain of yours. Tell me about her, so I know what to expect if I am to disembark and speak with her in person."
János rubbed his chin like a person would, as he thought about what to say.
"Well, as I said earlier, she is.... you know. Despite being democratically elected by the crew, she is acting only out of her own interest. Or, at least, that is what I assume. She very much sounds like such a person. Someone with a massive ego, and an incredible power fetish. Someone who'd only follow the rules if her superior says she must....." he was saying before realizing he was rambling.
"Oh, um, at least, I assume she's like that. I've had experience with such folks before. If you're a racialist, you might as well know she is an Ayr."
Oh dear. An Ayr. He seriously did not like their race. And with János description of her, this was someone he really didn't want to meet or even talk to.
He put up a mental block just incase she would try to read his mind as the other Ayr he has met have attempted before.
"... Very well then. With the way you described her, this is someone I do not want to meet face to face. Is there anything else I should know?"
János shook his head.
"Not much. Unless you wanted to know more about our company or something. But I have my own questions," he told him.
"Considering you know Frosty, could you possibly tell me..... well, how old you are? If that's an awkward question, you don't need to answer!"
"My age? I am exactly 402 years old. I was crafted on Feburary 18, 1983."
János had to pause for a moment in disbelief. He then spoke once more.
"That.... is fascinating. Considering you said you were created, you don't mind me asking WHAT you are?"
"My name is all I am allowed to provide, Mr. János. Not because I do not trust you, but because information regarding my people must remain a secret until the time is right."
"Uh......huh," János just blankly said. Another moment of pause passes when he gets a thought.
"I sympathize with Frosty's amnesia, as I myself suffer a similar fate," he said, "I doubt you'd care, so let me cut the story short. Back when we found Frosty, I was off at a different section, securing spare pieces for the ship. While searching, I found this red herring logo on it. Now, I know, 'red herring', obviously nothing. But something about it gave me deja vu.
"I drew the logo and began searching up online. The logo itself resulted in nothing, but after I started segmenting the image and searching pieces of it, I found something. Two diamonds on its fin. A red herring logo, the perfect place to hide something.
"Now, considering your.... age, I wanted to ask if I could possibly show you those diamonds, if you recognize them."
"Show me. If you must draw it, then there is a notepad with pen in the netting behind my seat."
János nods, as he goes and grabs the notepad and pen. He quickly draws up the diamonds. He shows the notepad to Moloch.
"Any ideas?"
Moloch activated the autopilot for the shuttle as he tried to think. He turned to János to speak.
"Mr. János, those diamonds are the trademark logo of the von Junod tycoon family. Established in the 2050s in Austria, the von Junod's were very large into the space flight industry and were determined to be the first to research interstellar travel. Unfortunately, very suspicious rumors plagued them when they were still active. Most prominent of all were the rumors of corruption. Politicians in high places all over the world received their campaign funding from this family, and their paychecks would have the von Junod logo on them. Then there was the accusation of the von Junod's funding very dubious science programs mostly relating to eugenics, which in turn gave birth to rumors of them being incredible racists."
Moloch then looked outside the cockpit windshield.
"...It's very convenient that you found their logo in space of all places. I suppose this explains what became of them when they disappeared. You see, sometime after the third world war, the family as a whole were to arrive at a court hearing as evidence of their schemes of corruption was discovered among documents that were leaked during the war. And yet, not a single one of them arrived. Even stranger was all the charges of corruption were simply dropped. That was the last anyone has seen of them. Nothing related to them has ever surfaced since."
He turned back to face János.
"Does this information help you?"
János nodded intensely.
"Yes, it does! Thank you so much, Moloch! This might just put me on the path of finding out about my past," he profusely thanked, with a smile on his face.
"You are very much welcome, Mr. János."
Moloch leaned over the shuttle dashboard and pointed at the Muramasa which was within distance of the shuttle.
"Is that your ship over there?"
János looked out to see the Muramasa.
"Yeah, that's her, alright," he said. "Mind if I ask one last thing?" he asked.
