"Sounds like I suited up at just the right time." said Taylor, as she glanced over at Jag. She headed over to the crew quarters quickly, to retrieve her sidearm. She strapped a holster from her bag to her thigh, then took her revolver from under her pillow. With a flick of the wrist, the cylinder slips out. Fully loaded. She flicked it closed, and holstered the revolver before heading to the bridge with Jag.
Amelia stops reading her book and runs into her room. She unlocks her cabinet to bring out her pistol, her satchel, and her lab coat, then proceeds to head to the bridge.
Owen sighed as the announement was made. "Guess that root beer's gonna have to wait..." Owen reported to the bridge, he wasn't going to be part of the ground team, but he reckoned he would still be needed there.
Ahaz listens to the announcement and starts preparing molotov cocktails
"Good." Jag shortly replied seeing it's comrade fulling armed and ready for their upcoming trial by fire. Walking with Taylor out of the armory in haste. "keep in mind that we're going to be fighting mostly internal security forces or Collective loyal militias once we hit planet side. Though, we should really worry about the Collective's Naval Infantry if things get worse." Jag said, walking through the corridor leading straight to the bridge. Jag starting explaining it's past experiences and knowledge with Taylor as they both walked throughout the long corridor. "Through fairly inexperience, they make up for it in both equipment and numbers compared to us. Through heavily reliant on their commanding officers, making them our first targets when the engagement begins." "And don't let their diminutive physical prowess fool you, they just as handly with their plasma rifles as they are with their knifes. They are remarkable cunning and quick to exploit any weakness they find." After reaching the door leading to the bridge, Jag took an short moment to breath and took one last look at Taylor before entering the bridge. "Look, soft-carbon. Just make sure to keep your head down and take it slowly, we're not heroes. Just hired guns. We're expendable assets to our employers, remember that." Jag stated clearly to her before opening the door. "Freelancer Jag and Taylor reporting, Employer Rask." Jag said after it had entered the bridge.
Rask left the mic open on the intercom, allowing the entire crew to hear the conversation he was about to have with the volunteers. "The Boss hasn't reported in," he said, grimly. "We were supposed to rendezvous near the city of Edna, but we're fairly certain that something's gone wrong. She was planning to assassinate a public prosecutor named Kupro Kupra. He was due to make an appearance in Edna yesterday evening, which is when he should have died. But I've just been reading the news; Kupra is alive and the Boss is missing."
{{blorgy, hope you don't mind me moving Bucky and János to the Brig. I doubt they'd stay in the mess hall after Bucky finished eating.}} As Bucky taught János some basic electrical maintenance in the Brig, they overheard what Rask said on the intercom. "Assassinations.....", János began, "...well, this is all I expected from this," he said monotonously. "Please continue the lesson, this is some fascinating stuff," he asked her.
Jag was beginning to feel more and more pessimistic about it's employers and the upcoming mission during the rushed debriefing, it's implant picking up on opened intercom left Jag feeling that Rask was either starting to lose his cool or as an hastily attempt to grab more volunteers. Nevertheless, Jag remained silent during it's commanding officer's speech. Thinking over it's options in this very, very fragile saturation.

She points out how to isolate the room, and draw a reserve of power into the nexus. With that done, she runs him through some basic trial-and-error diagnostic methods. "Aaaannnnd yeah. That's about it. Just remember to keep your gloves on and always check if the line you're working is live. Aside from that just test every couple of days for electron matrix decay. There's not much else to it. So now you can do maintenance on just about all the electrical systems for the common areas." The announcement over the intercomm draws her attention. "I wonder if I should go on that away mission. Are you going, John?"
János scratched his face. "I'm not sure. I personally think I should stay. What if we end up taking prisoners during the rescue?" he asked.
"The good news is that we have no report of any attempt being taken on Kupra's life," Rask continued. "The regime hasn't taken full control of the media on Itara. Somethin' would have gotten through if someone like Kupra had been shot at. This leads us to believe that circumstances changed before the plan could go through. Best case scenario: Boss left the scene entirely, and was discovered before she could arrive at the rendezvous point. She might have been hauled in for questioning by tetrian officials based on her mercenary appearance. Worst case scenario: she was caught at the scene, rifle in hand. The tetrians would almost certainly have informed the SS about the plot. "The Collective still hasn't cancelled its warrant for the Boss's arrest. I severely hope that it means they don't have her. Or, if they have her, they don't know who they have. The clock could be ticking. So here's the plan. We're going to land near the rendezvous point and see if anyone's waiting to ambush us. That'll tell us how much they know. If they aren't there, we'll go into Edna and shake down some tetrian officers until we catch the trail. If someone's there, we'll need to capture and interrogate them so we can find out where they took the Boss. "But in all likelihood, Boss is locked up in the Roco. It's a maximum security prison near Edna that Kupra's been stuffing with the Collective's enemies. If she's in there, we're going in there to get her. Do you understand?"
János scratched his face. "I'm not sure. I personally think I should stay. What if we end up taking prisoners during the rescue?" he asked.
"Yeah good point. I guess I'll just take a sidearm and work security while I keep the ship from exploding from the inside. That sounds like a good idea." [Going to bed now. cya tomorrow]
Jag looked directly into rask's eyes, before slowly nodding head. "Understood." Jag said, hesitation in it's voice. Letting out an slow sign through it's neck. "Employer Rask...What's our..Plan B?" Jag reluctantly said towards him, eyes met.

Hell of a first mission. She listened on as Jag talked to their employer.

Abraxas entered through the Bridge, Annabelle in hand and nodded to everything Rask said.
"Employer Rask...What's our..Plan B?" Jag reluctantly said towards him, eyes met.
Rask tilted his head from side to side and grunted, considering how to answer the question. "If you're asking what happens if the Boss is dead or locked up in the Collective, then the answer is that I'm in charge from here on, and we chalk this up as a lesson to all of us not to go off on our own. But while I'd be happy to run this organization and write the checks, it ain't happenin' unless we're sure she's not coming back." Rask paused and let out a sneer, stifling his laughter the way most kanads do because of the disturbing sound it causes. "Boss has broken out of jails before. If she finds out that we left her for dead on Itara for any reason short of avoiding all-out war against the SS or the Collective itself, she would personally track us down and kill me and anyone in her way." "We're coming out of warp, now," Neasha interrupted. "I can already see the planet." Ahead, a large, beige-ish planet with lakes and oceans spackled here and there grew from a dot in the center of the window to dominate the entire field of view. As the ship closed in on the atmosphere, the away team on the bridge could see the patchwork of crop fields which covered the surface of the valleys, broken up by forests dotting the steeper hills which separated them and the occasional urban center. The poles were covered in snow, and gentle ribbons of clouds obscured some of the more distant details. The whole atmosphere was crisp and transparent. It was a world without pollution. "That point there-" Neasha said as she pointed at a peninsula jutting into one of the larger lakes, "that's Edna. The rendezvous point is just north of there about 30km." With a quick keystroke by Rask on the arm of the captain's chair, a holographic symbol was projected onto the glass, displaying the landing point. "Right," Rask responded. "So take us down on a ridge close by. Those of you who are going with me, we'll disembark there and make our way down the hill through forested terrain and see if there's anything nasty in the valley. The rest of you are going to stay with the ship and keep it secure. Only take off if you receive the order or if you get spotted by the Batakya- er, the Black Fleet, excuse me. Neasha will be in charge of the ship in my absence." The Muramasa descended through the atmosphere at supersonic speed, so fast that it only appeared on radar for a few moments at the Black Fleet service station 50km away from the landing zone. There was no way of knowing whether the ship would be spotted, and so the crew would need to act quickly. Shortly after the craft landed in a forest clearing, the landing ramp was extended and Rask lead the away team onto the surface. [Mission Start] Current Objectives: * Check the rendezvous point for hostiles * Determine the whereabouts of Yanim Terika
Jag felt that it's warnings we're being ignored, that soft-carbon wasn't taking of every possible outcome into account in regards of the operation. Through Jag wondered if it's own jaded outlook was too pessimistic about the matters at hand as the years within the trade have been quite rough to say the least. Nonetheless, Jag simply nodded and continued to serve under it's employer. Albeit, grudgingly and waited for his order. The Sanghvi took an moment to prepare itself for ship to planet gravity shift, through fully ready for action as soon as the bay door descends. Jag froze still in place as the vessel entered orbital of the planet's gravity. It's body then released itself from the effect and was able to quickly adapt to Edna's gravity. "Taylor take right flank of the ramp, I'll secure our left.," Jag said loudly through it's implant as it quickly disembarked alongside Rask at the site. "Rest of the squad is to hold till any of us at the font gives the order." Jag barked out, hastily rushing to any suitable cover nearby at it's position.
"Got it." responded Taylor, darting down the ramp, and slipping behind some rocks on the right side. She peeked up over the rocks, scanning that particular flank for any signs of movement. Hmm...grass...trees...quite lovely, but she had a mission to focus on. She continued her scouting, her rifle ready, just in case.
(( Sorry guys but I got to call it for tonight, it's almost 1AM over here and got things to do tomorrow. Again, Infab or Sega, you two or one of you or whoever can have control of Jag during my down time so please don't have him rush face first into tank, ok? Anyways goodnight guys, it's real fun to play with ya all and I'll try to join back as fast as I can tomorrow. ))
((And I have to go to bed too. Damn. I'll try to join the funzies tomorrow. Goodnight.))
The light was broken up into rays by the tops of large trees, providing contrast between sun and shade. As the comrades descended the hillside, they stuck to the latter, attempting to be both fast as well as quiet. Each time they had determined that there were no hostiles, Rask, Jag, and Taylor waved forward Abraxus and Amelia to the previous safe zone. In this manner, they covered ground quickly and safely. Ahead, a break in the trees marked a sharp cut into the slope. They halted as they reached the last copse before the drop. There, a centuries old, disused road formed a shelf, beyond which the hillside continued to unravel with thinning trees and sparse vegetation. In the distance, they could see the grassy flatlands where they would have originally rendezvoused with their missing leader. To the right, the road entered a tunnel which was blocked off with sawhorses and warning signs. Just beyond, however, something caught Rask's eye. "There," he said, just loud enough for the others to hear him. They looked and saw what he saw- an armored van. "Police," Rask said with a genuine smile. This played into one of his "better" hypothetical scenarios. Creeping forward on his hands and knees, he peered over the edge, quickly spotting a trio of tetrian police officers performing a similar stakeout of the plains beyond. He motioned for Jag and Taylor to join him at the edge, holding three fingers up. Clearly, he intended for each to set sights on a target so that they could be neutralized simultaneously. ((With everyone going to bed, this is where we'll pause for the night.))
((Just when school is over, fucking A)) ((Do security stay on the ship or join the others?))
((You can join the attack team if you want to.)) Vakarus walked down the ramp slowly with his staff. He then went for a small hilltop nearby where he could overlook the imminent area. Aside from the armored van and the trio of police officers everything else was clear as far as he could see. "Rask'atvan, the imminent area is clear of opposition." He said over the comms.
"Its a nice clean aim from here..." Silvia said as she readied her bow. ((it's a plasma bow)) "Waiting on your go."
Taylor readied her rifle and went prone, before she crawled slowly up to the edge. She moved the rifle into position, then peered down the sights at the man on the far right, who had walked over and squatted near a small bush. Her helmet's HUD magnified the sights just a tad, to help with aiming. "I'm on tango right, near the bush." she whispered into her comms. She was a pretty decent shot back in the SDF, so she only hoped the gun could nail this guy and not fuck up the synchronization. "Target in crosshairs, firing on your mark." she whispered finally. 'Come on, Betsy...', she thought,'...show me what you got.' [Heading to bed. Can control Taylor whenever you get ready.]
Yuga used the holotable at the bridge toget a map of the surroundings, woth dots tracking the away team. She mauled over the scenario and shook her head. Rescuing the boss as a first mission? Perhaps this company wasn't the best choice after all.
Alex remained on the bridge as the the away team was moving out. He was concerned about what would happen next, but from his brief interactions with the boss, he came out with the impression that she could take care of herself. He chose to stay behind on the ship, if shit were to hit the fan here, he could at least use close quarter here to his advantage.
Yuga glanced over to Alex. "Chef, could you describe our contractor for me?" she asked calmly.
"She's a Kanad, just like Rask. Different hairstyle. She has has a few scars of her own, but unlike Rask, it doesn't look like someone put her face through a cheese grater. From what little we spoke, she seemed capable and in control."
