Taylor watched Yuga depart. What an absolute bitch. She didn't bother looking at Hariim, turning to face the holomap again. "What is it, Hariim?" she muttered, examining the area where their upcoming targets would be for the firebombs they were to acquire. That's a big ol' 'No.' for Yuga as First Officer.
Alex had returned to the kitchen after the briefing. Rask may have looked big and intimidating to the others, but to Alex, it was the same old, same old ego talk he'd come to expect from Rask. Anyway, he movied that out of his mind and continued to work on his own duties on the ship. At one point he could hear Yuga come in.
"Your tea is ready. As always the same way you specefied how to make it."
Hariim steps up to the holotable and assumes a textbook SDF at-attention stance. "I've taken the liberty of getting to the bottom of the hidden cameras problem. Amy first alerted me to the problem, but I wasn't able to deal with it till now. I've determined that they belonged to Rask, and given that they were positioned in people's closets, showers, and above their beds; you can maybe understand the gravity of that particular situation. I've killed the network all the cameras were on. It was separate from the ship's systems which is why I never found it while I've been on-duty." Hariim pauses, lets the captain take in that block of information before starting up the next:
"Furthermore, I've written up a report on the Muramasa's computer systems and their capabilities for you. If you need any clarification on anything don't hesitate to ask. Also; this may seem uncouth of me, but I would like to submit my candidacy for First Mate. I served a lot of time in the SDF, and alongside its special units. I reached the rank of lieutenant-commander before my honorable discharge; and served a number of different roles for my units. I'd be happy to forward you my service record, if you accept my application." Hariim says in as smooth and professional a tone as a man can muster. His face is stoic, that of a soldier simply reporting facts and information to a superior like he's supposed to.
((Straight over to kissin the new captains ass like a good borg.
JK, don't kill me))
Mercy blinks, shaking her head slightly as Amelia talks. "Oh! Ahm, well, of course zere are sinks zat I miss, madame... family, friends... even as, stereotypical as it sounds, ze cuisine..." Mercy sighs.
"Of course, zere are also sinks zat I do not miss. My old medical school, for one! I swear, everyone zere always had it out for me..." Mercy's usually perky expression falls for a second, before returning to normal. "So, ahm, how about you, madame?"
"Ah. Nah was just curious really. Istasha stretches her arms above her head and yawns. "Johannes mentioned that Maddox wanted to see me about a weapon. Dunno where either of them are though."
Taylor paused and looked at Hariim. Huh? Cameras? Her face immediately turned a shade of red. "U-Uhm, thanks for that. Make sure that they're all removed and destroyed. And I'll consider your entry for First Officer." she said, with a bit of a nod. Didn't know I was working for a pervert. She'd have to bring it up next time she saw Yanim.
Hariim nods. "I've already messaged the entire crew advising them to do so." He notices her blush. "I can have the primary router and local memory devices put up as targets in the armory's target range, if you'd like." He says matter-of-factly. It's clear that he understands the importance of people's privacy. "Thank you for the consideration, Captain. I look forward to serving under you." He performs a perfect to-regulation salute.
((Hariim's got a smudge of brown on his nose there.))
Bucky finishes her pseudo-breakfast and decides to go back to her quarters to play some vidya. However, she hears somebody playing the cello on the way and goes to investigate. She finds it's coming from Johanne's quarters, and hangs around outside his door to listen for a little while.
*snip*
Bucky decides to go ahead and knock on Johanne's door. She gives him a few moments and says: "Johannes? I was passing by and heard you, mind if I listen in?" There's a slight hint of concern in the timbre of her voice, but mostly she comes across as her usual bubbly and curious self.
*snip*
Bucky slips in and finds a seat. She crosses her legs once she's settled in and gets comfortable, pulling her hood back and unzipping her hoodie. "No. I've never heard cello played live, so this is new." She replies with a smile. "Didn't know we had a musician onboard."
*snip*
Bucky giggles adorably and watches Johannes begin his new song. Her eyes follow the movements of his hands and head perfectly; she doesn't reply to what he said though. She doesn't want to interrupt him and doesn't know if it'd be rude or not, so she just enjoys the little concert.

"Just my parents. They're old. Porter isn't there to help them. He's technically my butler, but I think of him more as a friend. Been with my family for a long time."
"Say, you were bullied?" she gets up and sits on a counter with her legs dangling, next to Mercy, "Why's that? Because of your accent?"
"Ah. Nah was just curious really. Istasha stretches her arms above her head and yawns. "Johannes mentioned that Maddox wanted to see me about a weapon. Dunno where either of them are though."
"A weapon? No idea. I've just been told to stay here for now and guard his stuff till we're ready for the next mission."

"Okay... so. How long have you played? I've dabbled a little in a few things, mostly singing, but never actual instruments." Bucky says, rather impressed at the feat of mental multitasking Johannes is demonstrating. It is indeed a feat of mental plasticity he's putting on... for a fleshie.
Istasha shrugs "Okay. So, what are you then? Let me guess... ship's cook?" She grins.
"Heheh," Porter lets out one of those old man hearty laughs. Not a big one, but a nice chuckle, "Oh don't get me wrong, I can cook, but I'm not the one to go to for today's dinner."
"I'm security. I make sure that no one starts fights with each other, throw them into the brig and such. Haven't had to do that yet, thank goodness. But if it does," he points to his shock baton on his left hip, "They won't get past me."
*snip*
Bucky shrugs fractionally and folds her legs up, hugging them to her chest. "That's why I probably never tried. I have a tendency to think a lot. Singing I can do real well though, comes naturally. But what kinds of mods do you have? Cyborgs are interesting to me, all of you are so different from each other."
Mercy takes a deep breath, leaning on the counter. "Well, it was, ahm, not exactly bullying... It was more a case of, ahm, favoritism. I was always ignored in ze classroom, and even when I worked so hard on somesink, it got a lower grade zen what it should have gotten..."
Mercy says this, clenching her fist, before letting out a long sigh, unclenching it.

"Wow, that stinks big time, sorry 'bout that." Amelia thinks back to her years in college. She didn't think about how spoiled she was, regarding academics. There never was a moment when she was given a B because she was a girl or the teacher picked another student's project for the best project award because they just like that student the most. Amelia was the top student. Not exactly popular, but the top student nonetheless. Often times, it's easy to forget that not everyone is as lucky as her to live in a mansion and have tons of money.
"But hey, you're done with those guys, or girls, or... I don't know, otter people. They exist. Anyways, it's best to leave those nerds in the past, look towards the future! There are tons of possibilities waiting to be discovered. You just have to have the strength to search for it." she smiles, trying to uplift Mercy's spirits.
Johannes actually stops playing at the question and thinks for a moment. (( I died reading this ))
"Combat borg then. Neat. So you're set up for E-war and direct combat huh? Must be some big bucks invested in you then, Johannes." Bucky scans over Johannes with her eyes, as though looking at him for the first time again. "All that stuff must be pretty old though, I used to know some guys that were into retroware back in the day who'd probably be trying to pick you apart by now." She continues with a giggle. "Don't worry about me doing that though. Not into blood."

The weather was surprisingly clear on the second morning on Voyak. The skies were still gloomy and gray, but there was no rain or fog to reduce visibility, and with the moisture of the previous day having long since soaked into the ground, the oily smell had somewhat diminished in favor of the more tolerable scent of burnt coal. Out of the back of the Cataract, Rey ensured that there were no obstructions as Wilson guided the dropship down the ramp from the hangar and set it gently on the silt-covered ground. The rear doors into the crew compartment were opened in preparation for the mission.
Overall, there was a lack of urgency at the camp, and confidence had begun to rise with both crews after the extreme low suffered the previous day. Sure, the specter of war hung over the dreary planet, but up in the city, people were daring to go to work, not allowing the sanghvi threat to take away what time they had to be productive. As Toothache might have said, there were bills to pay and mouths to feed. Today, there were more ships fluttering about in the skies above, mostly Black Fleet command ships and large deployment vessels, ensuring that the UGC would be properly protected by its great benefactor. They took no notice of the two nondescript vehicles parked in the reservoir.
Muramasa, this is Wilson. Rey is performing the final flight checks on our dropship. We like to call it the Cascade, by the way, so that's what we're talking about if you hear us mention it on radio. It won't take us long to get to Vohmdash and we're not going to rush through things, so pack whatever you think you might need. The gravel pit you landed in yesterday is bound to be in use at this hour, so we're going to land in a schoolyard about a block away in the opposite direction- it's a weekend, after all.

Roger that, Wilson. Crew should be ready to go shortly.
Taylor took one last look at the holomap, marking where the dropship was supposed to be landing, before switching on comms for the away team.
Ladies and gentlemen of the away team, this is your new Captain speaking. The dropship that has been provided us is almost ready to go. Maddox is in command of the away team, and will fill you in on the objectives should you not know what you're supposed to be doing today. Now, let me make this clear. I do not want a repeat of yesterday. If Mad tells you to do something, do it. No exceptions. We do this quick and clean, then we can focus on the airbase. Captain Caine, out.
After her message to the away team, she decided to check the news. She didn't get the chance while on Mars to do it, so she figured she might as well do it now while she had time. She drew out her holotablet, walking over and sitting in the captain's chair before turning it on. "Hmm...nothing big happening around Pyri II...I should check on mom later." she muttered, looking over the news feeds from stations that covered Pyri II's area. She flipped over to galactic news, and watched a few news tickers on Intergalactica.
