"We could both tag along, a heavily armored freelancer with weapons and a shady guy with a bit of crazy eye should be enough to keep us from being scammed."
"Might want to bring Owen along too. He's the racer, so he'll know what the hell we need. I'll just do the haggling." said Valkyrie, placing a hand on her hip. "I'll check and see if I can get any parts or bots too. So you guys will have fire support for the more serious shit." she continued with a nod. "Oh, and some spray paint and tattoo supplies."
Oh, and some spray paint and tattoo supplies.
"You do ink? Have to schedule an appointment with you some time." Alex looked and Yanim. "If we are going to sabotage the mafia we may need a patsy to pin this on so we can get away with it. Luckily, I know just the right people. Remember Kras? He's expanding his operations to Prospera and he said he wants to take a bat to the mafia's knees. I say we give his crew a target. They get into a fight with the mafia and when the sabotage happens they get blamed for it. What ya think?"
Frosty was looking at a paper he had written something on. "FROSTY WAS HERE" He then looked at the ground he was attempting to write that on with his lasers. "PBOSTT VVAS HEBE" At least, they'll never know who did it.
Ahaz arrives at The Stereotypical Italian Experience, a rundown bar in the bad part of town. He braces himself and then walks in. The smell of meatballs and spaghetti was unavoidable. Ahaz says, "I'm looking for Slick Alonzo." The old woman behind the counter gasps "Mama Mia!" She composes herself and says, "He's-a in-a.." when Ahaz cuts her off. "Listen lady, drop the fake accent." She nods and in a strong Brooklyn accent, she says, "He's in the back with Fat Tony. Knock three times on the door before you enter." Ahaz walks to the backmost door, knocks on it three times, and opens it. The door reveals a dank backroom with a human and an extremely large round alien playing cards. The human, on seeing Ahaz, groans. "Get outta here." "I love you too." Ahaz replies. The fat alien says, "You-a heard-a Slick. Fuck-a outta here." Ahaz snorts. "You're not even Italian, Fat Tony. Stop it with the accent." Fat Tony's face drops. "Aw, now you hurt his feelings. He's gonna drink half the bar away." Slick complains "Not my problem. Now, I'm looking for some good alcohol." Ahaz says. Slick grumbles and says, "Follow me." Ahaz follows Slick into another room. In that room there's a chair in front of a luxurious wooden desk. "Wait here." Slick orders and leaves.
"Hey, boss. Amelia's got Porter. They're headed back here," Taylor said. "Good to know," Yanim said. She wasn't quite interested in meeting the latecomer at the moment. Rask could handle it. "I say we give his crew a target," Alex said. "They get into a fight with the mafia and when the sabotage happens they get blamed for it. What ya think?" Yanim nodded. "Any collaborators we can get on our side would be helpful. Even if they fail to do their job correctly, their mere existence in the ploy will confuse our enemy. But I trust that Kras can get the job done... Rask can coordinate with you further. If you'll excuse me, I need to adopt a disguise before I leave the ship again. "Greet the newcomer, will you?" Yanim said quietly to Rask as she left the bridge, referring to Porter. Rask nodded. --- Yanim entered her quarters and locked the door behind herself. Skada greeted her happily, his tail swishing back and forth as he patted the ground with his mechanical paws. Yanim detached her own tail from her implant's computer system, and deactivated her jetpack, the TS-V83. In truth, it wasn't quite a jetpack, but rather a survival system designed to activate only to prevent a lethal fall. She had used it as a parachute on more than one occasion, first on Duroma while fighting a mercenary army, and again at the Battle of Zeruel... "[Guard the others,]" Virin said, his voice wavering just slightly in the silence of the tunnel. Yanim looked over to see him smiling, despite the fear which had settled over them both; he was speaking to Skada, telling one last joke before the leap of faith. Yanim gestured at Skada, ordering the fox to obey her comrade's orders and stay behind. The cargo ramp extended, whipping wind and the reddish light of hell poured in: Zeruel, October 19th, 2382. Before Yanim and Virin took the plunge to the planet's surface, the latter looked to the former, unready. Wordlessly he asked her to take the lead, to give him the confidence to follow through. They jumped together. They fought together. And Virin died. He was struck through the lungs and heart by a hail of fire just before the crew could escape from the doomed planet. But he had been brave until the end, decimating an entire enemy platoon singlehandedly while wounded, using only a modified Black Fleet plasma sabre. At the time, Yanim was helpless, remotely guiding the crew's original vessel, the Belladonna, to impact a 40-meter enemy mech. He died protecting her. Yanim couldn't forgive herself for having lost him. This was the wound which Yuga had attempted to exploit upon the crew's arrival to Prospera. Yanim shook herself free of the memory, finding herself staring at her stolid reflection. Her black pea coat was so much heavier without the jetpack's assistance- it had a secondary function of providing a small amount of propulsion continuously, in order to lighten the load of Yanim's armor and robotic equipment. Funny thing, when she had first invented it on the Archius mission, it was simply called the Valkyrie system. It would have been confusing to continue doing so, since Val joined the crew. Yanim removed her coat and dropped it on her bed. Inside of its quilted liner was a pattern of triangular plates made of depleted uranium, each about two centimeters across. They were encased inside ceramic shells, and further wrapped in Spectra fiber, providing a great deal of protection against most types of handheld weapons. For Yanim, it was necessary protection, but tonight, she would be adopting an alter ego, and so it wasn't needed, nor was any other part of her armor. She used a couple of spray cans of temporary hair dye to turn her pale hair vivid with streaks of purple and gold, darkened the lenses of her mask to pitch, and wore a neon blue vest jacket over top of a white and grey striped shirt. When she emerged, she had effectively transformed herself from a shell-shocked mercenary into a typical punk offworlder, here on Prospera for a relentless good time.
Valkyrie looked over at Yanim when she emerged to rejoin everyone else. "Love the look, boss." she said, grinning. She then returned her attention to Maddox and Markus. "Well, lets get going. Better to get the shit now than wait." ... Taylor saw Yanim, then looked herself over. She needed to change her appearance. Ditch the military getup for different clothes...then dye her hair. Blonde or an alternative color. Need to ditch the long hair too, so off comes the ponytail. She never wore makeup, so it'd be a good time to start. Multiple ways she could alter her appearance ran through her head.
As Yanim walked out from the bridge with the plan laid out and the crew left to their own devices to complete their won objectives, Markus grabbed his rifle that was leaning against the wall. "All right. Fix it Felix, Supervixen and Lightning McQueen, let's get us a racer." he said as he motioned for Maddox, Valkyrie and Owen to follow him. The Arcturus was a medium class freighter with a roughed up exterior. As it was docked seemingly for a longer period of time acting like some kind of mobile base for the Kromm Armada, the mercenary bands banners were hanging from various locations on the ship. The group stopped a fair distance from the ship and Markus turned to Valkyrie, "All right, luv, these are yer former playmates so if ya flash some ink they'll let us in like santa claus on christmas eve, right?" ... Yuga had done her fair share of intelligence work so she was content with stay on the ship for now. She used the holotable to open up a projection of the Grand Prix circuit so that Frosty may enlighten her with more precise details about the mafias plan when he returned.
Frosty returned from his spree of vandalism, flying back to the Muramasa. The mafia won't know what hit them when they find out Pbostt was Hebe all along. Still, the lasers on the Voidwalker worked just as well as the rest of the ship did. He dared not fire the missiles, however, as he wanted to keep his presence at an all time minimum. He went towards the bridge, as that's where all the crewmembers seem to hang out, and saw Yuga activating the Holotable. "Yuga, what have you got there?"
Yuga turned to Frosty as he entered the bridge, "Ah yes. I was hoping you could enlighten me with your hypothesis as to how the Mafias racing plan will be executed." She gestured to the map that was on display, "If you'd be so kind."
Alex headed back to his quarters. He send a quick message to the new recruits.
Need dietary preferences and food allergies. If I don't get them by the next meal, you're on your own when Dr. Gasmask is taking care of your food poisoning.
With that done he set up another call with Kras. If this plan was going to work, they needed to start applying pressure on the mafia as soon as possible. Kras didn't look much different from earlier. Only difference was the fact that his sleeves were rolled up and the number of bottles has increased. He was holding a bat and looking at it. "Kid. Good to hear from you again. Sorry that the info guy didn't deliver but that's the way this works. Gonna ask you to hurry up, I'm organizing a meeting of the minds here." "Somebody thought they were smarter than they actually are?" "Yep." He said as he swung. "So, what can I do for you?" "You said you wanted to fuck up the mafia's plans. We know who their driver is, we have a plan, we just need someone to take the fall for us." Kras lid a cigar and looked at Alex through the screen. "And what is it for me? I'm not running a hitman charity here." "You wanted to break in Prospera, right? If we pull this off, you're going to take the fall for it, but your reputation will get a boost." "And every two but hustler and wanna be muscle will come and work for me, I've heard it before. Here's the other part, if you fuck up, I get set back to square one." "You had other plans?" Kras smiled "No, I don't. But I build a seizable amount of my fortune on your back, so I'm going to trust your crew on this. The deck is not exactly stacked in your favor, but I have a gambling addiction. I'll send you the contact info for my man there. Tell him what you want to do. Now if you'll excuse me. I have to give out promotions." The call ended as Kras left the room "Thanks Kras." Alex switched to Rask's channel "Rask. Kras's goons are on board with the idea. What's a good target?"
"Two methods that I have contemplated." Frosty pressed a few buttons on the Holotable, making it display five cars on the track, each labeled with the names and numbers of the mafia's chosen drivers, with the fifth one being unmarked. "Method number one. They try to run anyone who tries to overtake them off the road once Owen's uncle is in first." Four of the cars began to move forward together, with the fifth one lagging behind. When the fifth car caught up with the others, all four of them converged and collided against the unsuspecting driver, sending him spinning off the road. "Method two. The four drivers collide against eachother to cause a pileup blockade, preventing anyone from passing them, while also making it look like an accident." The track and cars reseted, but this time, the four cars smashed into one another, causing a pileup on the track. The fifth car was catching up but came to a screeching halt due to the track being blocked. "Perfect spots on the track to do this, I will show you." With another push of a button, several segments of the track were highlighted in red. "I saw them speed up at these parts. So, what do you make of this, Yuga?"
"All right, luv, these are yer former playmates so if ya flash some ink they'll let us in like santa claus on christmas eve, right?"
"Maybe. I've done it before and its worked. Let me check." said Valkyrie as she strolled towards the ship. She got pretty close before being stopped by one of the mercs that were standing outside. She showed him her Kromm Armada tat, and brought up her previous history with them. As well as the reason they were there. Hopefully they would be allowed in. ... Taylor decided to go ahead and fetch all the stuff she needed to change her appearance. She departed the ship, and searched for a decent clothes store. Once she found one, she bought some nice looking civilian clothes as well as some hair dye and makeup. She returned to the ship, and went to work in her cabin.

A short while later, Taylor emerged from her cabin. Her appearance drastically different from her standard militaristic look. Her hair was cut into a pixie cut and dyed a blonde color. MUCH different from her brunette ponytail from before. She now bore makeup, very faint but still there. She didn't want to look like some sort of bimbo. Her new clothing, a fancy shirt and jacket with nice pants and shoes, made her blend in much better than the military gear. At least she'll only have to wear this stuff for a few days. She slipped on some shades she bought, then walked up to the bridge to check on the others.
Yuga observed as Frosty explained. She was slowly rubbing her fingers together as she processed the information. "Very observant. Judging by our current plan, the first option would be the one most likely for us to turn into our favor. I am certain Owen has told you about his... destructive driving style." She walked around the table and continued to observe the animation of the second possible plan which lopped in the projection. "The second plan might prove a bit more resilient, as we must somehow deal with at least one of the mafias drivers before the crash can occur." She stopped and focused on Frosty, "During the operation I will stay behind and supervise communications, what do you intend to do to contribute?"
Frosty opened his mouth as if to say something which would blow Yuga away with his brilliance, but realized he had nothing to say, instead he remained quiet. He put his hand on his cheek and tried to think. "... I really do not know. I provided reconnaissance data, though if things with the mafia do get out of hand, I could take my Voidwalker into the air and solve any problem they throw at us rather quickly. If you have any suggestions for how else I could contribute, then please tell me. I do not want to be useless."
After a long walk back, Amelia and Porter finally arrive at the ship. "Here we are! Home, sweet, home!" she holds out her hands, presenting the ship. "At least it's something," he sighs. Amelia walks up the ship and knocks on the door, then puts her hands to her side and waits. Porter stands behind her, towering over Amelia.
Abraxas was walking through the door, suddenly hearing a knock. He casually opened the door and saw Amelia and then a man in a gas mask. Abraxas shrugged. "Welcome to the gas mask club."

Well they're here to buy a vehicle, not stage a fucking weapons bust]". Svik mauled over this and shifted the cigarette in her mouth whilst looking from Vliv to the party and back. "[Ok, we're only letting them into the hangar anyways, but if something happens its your ass that gets fried, Vliv.]" Svik turned to Valkyrie, resting her shotgun on her shoulder while pointing towards the far end of the freighter, "Ok. We radio, tell hangar buyer are coming. Talk to Hiesh, is Namur navigator she handle buyers" she explained in the signature khergian broken english. ... Yuga turned her attention to Taylor as she entered the bridge. "Quite a convincing disguise, Mrs Caine" she complemented when Frosty explained his schedule. "Sounds reasonable. Try not to get yourself killed, the loss of your hardware and skills far outweigh the benefit of not having to pay you if you are deceased." she communed with a comedic squint.
"Thanks," Porter waves. "Abraxas, I'd like you to meet our new security guard, Porter!" Amelia greets. Porter does a casual salute, "Pleasure."
Abraxas nodded and crossed his arms. "Good to you. Genki Girl, you've missed an announcement. We have two teams on two plans. Owen Jackson is leading this race stunt while the others are assisting with disguises."
"Oh... Porter's fault that I missed out," she points back to him, "Which team am I on?" she asks. Then she thinks to herself, 'Genki girl? ... I need to look that up, it's probably a compliment' she assures.
"Any team, meet up with Rask or the Leader to see what they can do for you." Abraxas said.
"Quite a convincing disguise, Mrs Caine"
"Yeah. Hopefully I don't have to do this again." she said, looking her outfit over. Really not her style, but it has to work. She nodded in Frosty's direction, before turning and heading back down into the main tunnel. Eventually, she spotted Abraxas, Amelia, and a new guy. She approached, eyeing up Porter. "Welcome back." she said to Amelia, before turning to Porter. "...you're a big guy."

Porter chuckles, "... for you." "Hey Taylor this is Porter, he's an old friend and a new crewmember!" Amelia greets. "Okie dokie, c'mon, Porter, let's go!" she runs past Abraxas and Taylor towards the bridge. He sighs, "I'm suprised you've been able to keep up with her," Porter compliments.
Yuga squinted slightly as she inspected the crews latest addition. "Judging from your stature and concealed facial features you're not terran, correct?"
Frosty turned around to quickly put his helmet back on as he didn't want to frighten whoever this new recruit was with his unusual looks. He turned back around, and waved. "A fair and formal greetin- ACK!" He took a step back to let his eyes absorb the form of Porter. He looked rather intimidating with his armor and mask.
"Actually... I am... about 70% of my body is Cybernetics. The rest is all Terran." Porter chuckles, "Haha, sorry to give you a scare, man. I get it a lot." he raises his hands in a 'calm down' motion.
Yugas face formed into a frown. "70% percent? Stripping away its own mortal essence to prolong its own existence and usefulness... how typically terran." she communed with a neutral voice. Yuga lifted her hat and stroked her hair back, "You'll be delighted to know that we have someone who has fallen victim to the same fate, all though with less success then yourself given his slight amnesia
"If it wasn't for the cybernetics, I'd wouldn't be standing here talking to you. Nice to meet you too, friend." Porter shifts his stance, already he's not fond of a crewmember, he thinks to himself.
Ahaz stands and waits. The back wall of the office opens up. A man and his guards stand there looking like this. The man struts forward. "I heard you wanted to buy the good shit. Why should I sell it to you?" Ahaz smiles. "I got the money and you know I got the taste for it. I'm not one of those idiots who can't tell craft beer from piss." The man leans forward. "That might be, but I didn't get to where I was today by selling to anyone. I gotta know that you can keep secrets." "Sure I can. I'm a bartender." The man waves his hand, "Those are small secrets, not important ones. Follow me and if you don't say anything about this to anyone, I'll sell to you." The man gets up and gestures for Ahaz to follow him. The wall retracts and they walk past it into a huge strip club. Ahaz smiles.
