"She died when I was 4 or 5. Don't remember much of her. From what Alex and father told me, she was either another one of dad's victims or just as crazy as he was." --- Alex walked out if quarters in a tanktop and boxers. A bandage covering his nose and a tired look to him. "Like I said before. There are pleanty of leftovers from the mexican food. I din't make any more food because it would be covered in nose blood."
Taylor glanced over at Owen. "At least you stayed out of the line of fire." She looked around, searching for their bartender. Where was he exactly? Eh. Probably slipping booze into someone else's drink somewhere. "I'll get it for you." she said, standing up and walking behind the bar. She reached into the fridge nearby, grabbing a root beer and popping the cap off the top before setting it in front of Owen. She herself fetched a glass, a bottle of Scotch, a bottle of Drambuie, and some cold-brewed coffee from nearby. She was going to make a 'Railroad Spike', since Ahaz wasn't around to make it himself. As she set the needed ingredients on the bar, she looked up to see Sledge and Frosty enter the mess hall. She waved to them both.
"I'm sorry to hear that." Said Maddox. "For what it's worth, both you and Alex are lightyears ahead of your father."
Following everything, János went and disinfected himself and his guns, not wanting anything to develop on his cyborg surface. After returning his guns to their rightful places, he contemplated the idea of continuing his research into the red herring symbol, but he realized he had spent most of the day on that, so he decided to just look what is happening on the news.
INTERGALACTICA OPTO ANNOUNCES COOPERATION DEAL WITH WAVE GALAXIAS Opto, the mysterious group that helps less fortunate people at incredibly cheap prices, has announced that it had made a deal with Wave Galaxias, the former mercenary group turned humanitarian organization, who had just recently finished its 2 year transition into becoming full-time humanitarians. The deal consists of Wave Galaxias giving Opto a monthly salary, in exchange to them making their services free to those less fortunate, which they were happy to accept. While not much is known about Opto, those fortunate enough to have met them have revealed that the group consists of primarily androids of varying races. ------ MYSTERIOUS CYBORG STRIKES AGAIN Another shady businessman by the name of Baron Robber has been slain last night by the mysterious cyborg. Whilst not many know of who this cyborg is and why it is doing it, many assume it has a disdain for shady businessmen, having killed over 30 in the last two years. Those who managed to catch a glimpse of the mysterious bot only managed to identify its weapon of choice - a sword, barely visible from one side in the darkness. Intergalactica will keep its readers up-to-date to all and any news related to this shadow of the night.
"Same guff like always," he thought to himself. Whoever that cyborg was has got to be caught at some point. No one is that good at escaping the HQs of businessmen. As he put down the news and thought over what he was going to do next, something popped into his head when he reminded himself of the shootout that had just happened. He couldn't remember it clearly, but he can tell that they are connected to his past. Just as he tried to figure out what this memory was, it faded back whence it came. Bummed that he couldn't get that memory out, he decided to go and knock on the door of Bucky's quarters. He felt like taking a breather and he wanted to see what sort of holo-games she had to offer.
"Thanks. I'm not sure if I saw it correctly, but I could've sworn that hammer guy got in a drinking contest with Jackson Co. Quantum Moonshine. I'd stay away from that stuff unless you want a trip to pit road very soon." Owen replied. "I didn't get a good look, but what happened to that fella who tried to go one-man-army out there?" With that, Owen got up and wandered behind the bar, after a minute of browsing, he found a few bottles with the familiar insignia. He picked up one of the bottles and glanced at the bottom of the label, "Made on Luna" he read aloud.
"Nice of you to say." Amy said as she started to tinker with the riffle."Don't know how up the ladder that puts us, considering our competition and our carrer paths." She looked up to Maddox. "Speaking of which, you ever ran with a crew before joining this little group?"
"He's been livin' a boys dream. A selfless, anonymous and heroic defender of the Sol Regime of intergalactic justice and righteousness." Markus said with a hearty laugh, as he entered the armory. Walking over to the ammo cache to fill his cartridges. "Bet ya got some interesting stories from runnin' with the sisters, don' ya?"
"Probably as many people you shanked in prison, Teacup. Ask away if you're curious."
Markus took down his mask and hood to reveal the sharp, bushy face underneth. He had teaken out a few cartridges and had calmly began reloading his magazines. "Well, might start with askin ya what secter ya were active in. And also what kinda work ya got to doin' while you were with 'em." [editline]18th April 2016[/editline] ((Going to bed now, sorry for jumping out right when I get back in. But I got work tomorrow.))

And doc's got Porter." she said, as she mixed up her drink.
[Sleep well Radley] "I worked in a veriety of sectors, raging from Sol to Korprulu. Sister Greta really wanted us to get around. As for my work, just look at my gear. I was on recon duty most of the time, but I have taken a few shots at VIPs."
Hariim nods and thanks Taylor for the compliment, and gets a fresh ice pack for his head.
Maddox opened his mouth and was about to say something when Markus walked in and interrupted. He gave him a false smile before listenkng to what Amy had to say. When she was done Maddox gently bopped Markus on the head with a tool. "Always so insightful, Kov." He turned to Amy. "Reconnassaince is the real deal, a couple of friends of mine were SDF pathfinders. While they're not as good as Markus here when it comes operating in the wild they sure as hell weren't far off from being on the same level." Maddox grabbed Markus's rifle and began to inspect it. "To answer your question, yes, I have worked with several other crews after my time with the Novithus SDF Auxiliaries. I've been busy perfecting the art of gunsmithing and that involves travelling to all kinds of planets and meeting all kinds of people."
Owen responded to Taylor, "Probably for the best. You ready for this race thing tomorrow? Assuming of course that we don't hit anymore 'surprises' along the way."
Frosty, not content with being all alone by himself at his own table, spoke up to the rest of the crew inside the mess hall. "So what really did happen at the hotel? What caused the mafia to attack so suddenly and out of nowhere? What were you all doing there anyway?"
Hariim pulls himself together and shakes off his discomfort enough to join the conversation. He says to Owen and Taylor. "We'll be as ready as we can be. I've gotten into every camera, sensor, and computer in that place. All we gotta do is our job, and then we can peace the hell out on a nice paycheck." -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bucky slips out of her quarters and wanders around the ship. She carries her mini-comp with her, and uses its wireless connection to pull up the statuses of the ship's systems while she goes for her walk.
Taylor finishes making her drink, and stirs it a bit. "Yeah. Do your job, win the race, and we get the hell out of here alive." she said, nodding. She takes a drink of her freshly made Railroad Spike, then looks over at Frosty. "We tried to convince one of the other racers to help us. Didn't work, so Sledge decided to get into a drinking contest with him. He ended up in the bathroom, and Ryan ended up on the floor convulsing. Mobster watching him I guess called it in, and some guys showed up to kill us as they got Ryan out of there. Porter got the shit shot out of him and Abrax is working on him right now. Sledge also got shot up, but he's still alive and kicking as you can see. I got shot twice, back and leg, and Alex got a busted nose and a bullet grazed him. I think Mad got hit too, as did the boss."
What were you all doing there anyway?
"We wanted to sabotage the mafia race some more. Why did they decide to attack so suddenly, I don't know." Alex shrugged at that last part.
We tried to convince one of the other racers to help us. Didn't work, so Sledge decided to get into a drinking contest with him. Any group in particular that stand out, Mad?"
Maddox paused for a moment and started to chuckle. "There was one crew actually which stood out alot. Back when I were roaming the outer rims in search for a long-forgotten firearm from some isolated people- a story for another time- and I met up with a tight five-man crew." He got a distant look in his eyes while also smiling at the same time. "They explored the outer rim with a refurbished Ayr transport ship turned into a flying bunker. Made most of their money guiding rich tourists and helping smugglers. Their boss was a U'at- human-like species with four digits on each hand, hooves, blue skin, red eyes and a lack of a nose. He was a nice fellow, made sure that the rest of the crew sticked together. Their pilot was an Ayr who was awfully quiet all things considerate. There were also two kanads, to this day I still think that they could fix anything. Fifth member was a Malmarian. She didn't talk much. Come to think of it, she spoke only once during my time there and that was when she told me to shut the hell up. They were an odd bunch for sure, but they became my family for six months." Maddox then nodded towards Amy. "How about you? Met any interesting folks while freelancing?"
"Well, my job is pretty straightforward. Not literally, of course. Thing is, I'm going to need a pit crew as well." Owen replied.
"What she said."
"Oh, I see. It's a shame what happened to Porter. I wonder what he would have been like had I gotten to know him better. I only met him a few moments ago..." Frosty leaned back in his chair. "Hopefully Abraxas can do something to fix him. And speaking of fixing things, where is your friend, Ms. Taylor? Thinking about how I surveyed the racetrack earlier gave me an idea for a modification for my ship."
"And as things are looking as of now, we should be able to arrange that, Mr Jackson." Yuga entered the messhall and stopped right infront of the enterance, inspected those who were present. "Despite the fact that the situation developed as it did and Mr Porter being seriously injured, you all performed satisfactory. Takes this to heart, I am not one to flaunt with compliments but credit where credit is due." she said with a matter-of-fact tone in her voice. She put her hands behind her back and began walking around the tables, looking from one patron to the other. "As a matter of fact, some of you exceeded my expectations, but they shall remain unnamed as I do not favorize." she continued, giving suggestive gazes towards Hariim, Frosty and Taylor. She stopped at the door once again and turned to the crew. "There are a few details that need to be discussed with and greenlit by our contractor, but the operation should proceed as planned. Any questions?"
"Yeah. How high do you want me to jump, what time you need to to wake up, and has my role in the operation tomorrow changed at all?" Hariim replies.
How about you? Met any interesting folks while freelancing?
"Well there were some interesting people. For one, there was sister Sasha. If there was a picture of crazy sadistic in the dictionary, it would be her. Doesn't help she had a obesssion with her ex boyfriend or husband or whatever. But she was before feelancing." She though for a few seconds before continuing. "Ok, there was one crazy guy. He was a Korbinite. You know those guys who's faces look like horses? Had a job with him and a few other mercs. We look at him from head to toe and all he had was this rinky dink hammer and almost no armor exept for a metal cap. Said that it was the only thing he needed because he had the power of a thunder god. You can probably guess how long he lasted."
Frosty was a little touched by Yuga's words, though he had a question he wanted to ask. "Well I do have one question. I do not appear to be a part of any plan or scheme involving the actual race itself, but I still want to help out in any way I possibly can. Is there anything I can do?"
Owen thought for a moment, "I'm not sure right now. I know we have (uh, what was his name again?) on the camera feeds. If you feel that you'd be better groundside I might be able to use you on the pit crew." ((Owen isn't exactly the best with names either))
János had his back to the wall next to the door of Bucky's quarters when he saw her slip out. He began wondering she didn't hear his knocking earlier. He quickly caught up to her. "Hey Bucky! How you' doin'?" he asked her.
Bucky stops and turns to face Janos. She smiles when she sees him and raises a hand in a half-wave. "Oh hey John! I'm alright, how long you been stading there?"
Taylor shook her head in Yuga's direction. She was still hurt, but she'd be ready anyway. Hopefully Abrax fixed up Porter soon, so he could patch everyone up. She turned her attention back to Frosty. "Valk's in her room. Knock first." she said flatly. ....

"Wow, this fucker is fried." said Valkyrie, as she laid on her bed looking at the logic board from the drone she had built earlier. The faulty wiring had burned a hole through the board itself. She shook her head, and tossed the board to the foot of her bed. She sighed, before rolling over and pulling the bag containing her tattooing equipment to her. She unzipped it and peered inside, thinking for a few moments. She could tat on this crew's logo. She then shook her head. Nah. She hasn't been with them long enough. Maybe some other time. She pulled out the tattoo gun, examining it as she sat cross legged and barefoot on her bed, in a pair of loose, short black board shorts and a faded purple muscle shirt.
Yuga turned to Hariim first, squinting and chuckling a little, "Aside from your humorous jests I will inform you that your position will remain unchanged until further notice." she said in a slightly friendlier tone than usual. She flicked open her compass and absorbed som vapors before turning to Frosty. "While you and your craft have been of great use to us I fear that there is a possibility that it has become rather famous in Port town. Until we can determine the extent of this infamy and it's links to our crew we must assign you to other tasks for the time being." she said, now with her usual monotone voice. Finally she gazed over to Owen. "Mr Jackson, as far as your pit crew goes there are few on this vessel who have not been outside and having possibly linked themselves to the crew. We could circumvent this by providing the pit crew with convincing disguises but this part of the plan is yet to be finalized." She gave everyone a final look, "As you were." She walked into the kitchen where a small pot with chak tea stood at the ready. With a freshly poured cup in hand she stopped and turned in the messhall door, "The briefing with our contractor will take place soon, If you have suggestions or wish to make objections to the plan you are most welcome to attend." Yuga bowed slightly before leaving the messhall and heading the bridge.
