Abraxas observed the comatose Porter, armor still visible on his armor and systems hooked up on a medical support cart. Stable vitals and no critical situations at all. Abrax crossed his arms and activated the security system so he could check up on him out of the Med Bay. Abraxas left the room but kept the lights on. Preparing a message through the public archives.
Porter has sustained damages up to a critical amount. I've managed to secure his vitals around his torso from danger and pulled out any intrusions that invaded his body. As a final report Porter is stable and will remain at the Med Bay until his health is fully operational. If you have any wounds or concerns relating to yourself then ring the dial near the entrance of the Med Bay.

Posting the message he went to the mess hall and got himself a drink, sitting by a table alone.
"Oh hey John! I'm alright, how long you been standing there?"
"Oh, just a couple minutes," János said. "I knocked on your door and waited for a response."
Frosty bowed in response to Yuga before she left, and then headed towards Valkyrie's quarters.
The sound of music could be heard from inside, so Frosty gave it one hell of a knock.
*BONG*
*BONG*
Valkyrie twitched at the sound of a loud noise at her door. What the fuck? Are they trying to punch a hole through the door? She reaches over and taps her holo-tablet, muting the music, before getting up and answering her door. Oh, it's Frosty.
"Hey, Snowman. What's up?" she asked, propping against the the side of the doorway and folding her arms.
"Oh, just a couple minutes," János said. "I knocked on your door and waited for a response."
Bucky puts her hand to her mouth and giggles. She seems a little embarrassed with herself. "Sorry! I had the volume on my headset up real high, I didn't think anybody would come over to see me. Did'ja need me for something?
"The ceiling is up, thankfully. Anyway, I wanted to see you because remember how I asked if you could modify my craft? I had an idea of something you could do if you have the parts for it."
Frosty took out a napkin he had been drawing on earlier while he was in the mess hall.
It was of a microphone looking device firing an arrow of sorts towards two stick figures. Drawn above the two figures was an arrow pointed towards a poorly drawn headset connected the microphone.
"Basically, in short, this device I was thinking of would fire a sound wave of sorts. What it would do is it picks up any noise and sends it back to my ship, like a directional microphone of sorts. It would help me as I do reconnaissance work. Is this possible?"
Owen took a sip of his root beer. Despite it being delivered a few minutes ago, this was the first time he touched it. He turned his attention back to Taylor, "I imagine you'd be helping guard the pit crew?" he asked.
Valkyrie took the napkin and looked it over. Crude drawing, but it was still pretty understandable. "Yeah, I could get Bucky to help and we could fix somethin' up for you." she said, nodding. "When all this shit is over regarding the race, I'll get to work on it."
She handed the napkin back to him, and glanced down the hall. Bucky was talking to the other cyborg on the ship, János. "Oh, next time, just lightly knock on the door. Like this." she said as she returned her attention to Frosty. She knocked on the metal next to her three times. Simple knocks. "You sounded like you were trying to punch a hole through my door." she said with a chuckle.
....
"Yeah. I'll be down in the pit area with you guys. Anyway, I'll be back. Gotta pay the Medbay a visit about these wounds." said Taylor, checking her messages on her holo-tablet. She put it away, before downing the last of her drink and limping out of the mess hall. She walked by Abraxas to make sure he saw her.
Once she was at the Medbay, she did as the message said and rang the dial before stepping in. She saw Porter on a table nearby, hooked up to a medical support cart. Seeing him like that only made her feel worse about the whole ordeal. If she had been next to him fighting, he might have came out of that fight in a lot better shape.
"I apologize, but I just wanted to make sure you could hear me knocking through your music. Thank you, though."
János scratched the back of his head as he noticed Bucky's mini-comp. "I felt like taking a breather and I thought about hanging out with you, though it seems like you're busy with something."
Finishing up the drink, Abraxas shrugged and heard the dial through his holoband, picking himself up and went to the Med Bay. He saw a particularly bland individual and rubbed his hands together.
"How can I assist?"
János scratched the back of his head as he noticed Bucky's mini-comp. "I felt like taking a breather and I thought about hanging out with you, though it seems like you're busy with something."
Bucky shrugs and replies: "I was just gonna do some checks, routine stuff. I can put it off for a while, where'd you wanna hang out?" Bucky pockets her mini-comp and looks at John with an inquisitive expression.
"How can I assist?"
Taylor turned her attention from Porter's body to Abraxas. "Got two gunshot wounds for you to look at." she said, limping over. "Lower right side of my back, and in the leg. I got the bullets out with pliers and used some biofoam. Guess its just up to you now."
"I was just gonna do some checks, routine stuff. I can put it off for a while, where'd you wanna hang out?"
"Well, we can hang out wherever, as long as I'm hanging out with you," János said with a weak smile.
Abrax let out a sigh and shrugged. "Very well."
Abrax then went over to the work table he always used to reveal several lab sets and potions setting perfectly aligned together. He reached above for a case, opening it up to reveal clean syringes and other things. He reached for a potion labeled Human, colored and popped it open. Inserting the long needle into the content of the glass, sucking it the liquid and was done.
Abraxas walked up to Taylor, waiting for a second then stabbing her twice while injecting the fluid onto the wounds faster than light. He nodded to her. "Should take a second, other than that anything else?" Abraxas asked then packing up the contents away and throwing the syringe in a bin.
"Should take a second, other than that anything else?"
"Nah. Thanks, doc." said Taylor, waiting a few moments before standing up. No pain! She checked the wound on her knee. The biofoam was dissolving and the wound was healing up. She bounced a few times, doing a few small hops. Good to go.
"I'll get out of your hair now. Thanks again." she said, giving him a quick salute before leaving.
Owen finished off his root beer and walked to his quarters. It had been a long day and he needed to be in tip top shape for the race tomorrow. Before he left, he sent a message to the crew.
To those who want to be a part of the pit crew, we should practice up before the race, we shouldn't do so at the track, but just where the car is sitting. Let me know if you want to volunteer for the crew, I'll try to be polite.
- Owen

"Well, we can hang out wherever, as long as I'm hanging out with you," János said with a weak smile.
Bucky smiles back and tucks a strand of hair behind her ear. "How's the mess hall sound? Probably not the quietest place right now considering all the drinkers we have onboard, but it's got the best network connection on the ship."
Maddox laughed. "Nog long I can imagine." He finished inspecting Markus's rifle and returned it to the hands of his owner.
"What about you Kov? Met any snowflakes?"
"No problem. Now if you'll excuse me, Snowman, I'm heading to bed. We've got a long day tomorrow." said Valkyrie, before stepping back into her room. The door shut between them with a hiss, and she strolled back over to her bed. Just as she sat down, she received Owen's message on her tablet. She read over it, then responded.
Count me in.

....
Taylor wandered back down to the armory where she found Mad, Markus, and a new crew member talking. "Hey guys. And girl." she said, walking up.
Alex dragged himself to the medbay. "Hey doc, can you take a quick look? I think my nose is broken."
---
Amy stands up to greet Taylor and extends a hand. "Hey. We haven't been properly introduced. The name is Amy."
Yanim entered the bridge after taking a meandering path around the ship. It was half-past midnight by the time everyone had returned. She had gone to her quarters to retrieve a replacement for her damaged mask, which she threw into an open scrap box near her bed, before walking across the main tunnel into the cargo hold, stopping just short of the mess hall. Yuga was there, patronizing the crew with pat-on-the-head compliments for their efforts while she had comfortably spent the battle on the bridge. Taking a long breath from a carbon monoxide inhaler to clear the oxygen contamination from her blood, Yanim temporarily ignored her chest wound as she headed for the helm, dressed once more in her standard attire.
Vakarus was the first to greet her. "Welcome back Yanim'atvan, the return of the warhost had been awaited. Are you well?"
"When has she ever been?" Rask cut in. "But honestly, Boss, how bad was it?"
Yanim smiled weakly at her crewmates. "The crew fought hard. In all, there were at least twenty- you already know how many wounds were sustained and we had one loss along the way. I'd say the crew is improving."
"Uh-huh," Rask responded, watching blood drip from the front of Yanim's pea coat. "Boss, you ought to have that looked at."
Yanim nodded. "In a moment," she answered. "I have an announcement to make."
January 13th, 2385:
The crew just returned from a hell of a shootout and already Boss has decided to call for an election. The blood isn't even dried, for fucks sake, but I think she has a point to make- it's obvious she's wantin' someone who was there in the thick of the shit rather than having one of the less, uh, proficient warfighters take the job. Classic Boss... she wants a team of killers more than anything. Loyal cultists to worship her anarchy wet dreams. Fuck 'em. I'm tired of this routine. I want this crew to have a captain who can make money and fight the system without relying on field operations that risk lives. And I hope that Porter's loss will teach 'em that playin' the hero ain't what it's cracked up to be.
-Rask Vor'Pangn, First Lieutenant, Terika-Belladonna Company
Yanim leaned on the comm station and broadcast a message to the entire crew. "Could I have your attention, crew? Tonight, we were witness to proficiency and incompetence, bravery and cowardice. You all know what you saw, what you felt, and who did well to inspire you. That's why I am asking you to send a private notification to me, stating your choice for captain of this vessel. The winner of this election will be final, and there will be no insubordination until a new election is called. And since the winner will be the first comrade to be entrusted to lead this vessel in our absence, I have a special gift to give him or her."
((Either send me a PM with your choice, or post a "private message" in the thread, depending on whether you want the other posters to know who your characters are voting for, OOC))
Yanim looked to Rask, who seemed irritated. "[Couldn't this have waited, Boss?]" he asked, rhetorically.
"[I don't want the crew to become accustomed to taking orders when the source is not yet legitimate.]"
"[And what happens if they elect the ayr to lead, eh? Will you argue with-]"
"[The crew will get what the captain they want, but they won't get the captain they deserve,]" Yanim snapped. "Now if you'll excuse me, I can barely breathe." She departed to the medbay.
"What do you two think, Vak, Nea? Who's gonna be our new golden child?"
Neasha looked over from the pilot's seat, seeming drained of energy from the long day. "I want someone who can bring our crew closer together. I have a feeling that a fissure might develop if we aren't careful."
Mission Update:
✔ Meet the new crewmembers
✔ Determine the identity of the Mafia's chosen Grand Prix winner
✔ Locate Porter
✔ Sabotage the remaining hostile racers or bribe friendly competitors
* Kill Richard Briggs during the Grand Prix
* Ensure Jeb Jackson loses the Grand Prix
* Arrange for Owen to take the checkered flag
Vakarus nodded as he sat down at the gunnery console. "I agree with the Scaled-one, for a warhost to emerge victorious there is need for a strong atvan who can lead just as well from safety as he or she can lead in the heat of battle."
He opened up the internal messaging system.
Yanim'atvan,
I hereby cast my vote on Taylor of House Caine.
-----
"Good to see you auxiliary, nice shooting out there." Said Maddox as Taylor entered the armory.
"How are you holding up?"
Just as he asked his question the boss made an announcement.
Maddox whistled. "This should be interesting." He brought up his datapad.
Ma'am,
I hereby vote on Alex Korunov.
Valkyrie rolled over and checked her tablet after the boss's speech, and punched in a vote. A few moments later, back to sleep.
I vote Taylor.
- Valkyrie
....
Taylor shook Amy's hand. "Taylor Caine, Freelancer." she said, with a smile. She then looked over at Maddox. "Fine now. Abrax patched me up." She then noticed Maddox's outfit. "Wow, you kept your BDUs?" she said, as she went ahead and voted on her tablet. "I've still got my formal dress uniform, but that's about it."
I pick Yuga for Captain.
- Taylor
Maddox grunted. "It still fits like a glove even after all these years. I might be a bit sentimental too since I've worn this uniform through several battles, slept in it in the wilds and explored new worlds in it. I still got my formal uniform as well, not too many medals to show though."
Abraxas sighed. That time of the year huh? To be frank there is some opinions he had as Captain. Either someone who cooperated well or it could be him leading. Wait, him leading? ...No, not now, not ever. Of course it shouldn't be himself. He shook his head and went to the nearby sink, taking off his respirator and washing his face from that thought. He placed it back on and decided to vote.
Yuga as Captain.
- Abraxas
He had to be honest, if anyone was the best it was Yuga. Although she wasn't a fighter she's an operator. An operator through the operation. She had a stick up her ass but that doesn't automatically mean she doesn't get a chance as a result. He threw his arms behind his head relaxing. Besides, hopefully she at least warms up or else reality's going to hit her in the face.
Then later Alex came in asking for some check up. "What a broken nose? That's it?"
Yuga sat in one of the chairs at the holotable in the bridge, her sword leaning against the table and her hat on top of the console.
The Nocturne op.9 no.2 by chopin could be heard playing from her compass while she sat enjoying her tea.
She put the cup back on top it's saucer and looked up at Yanim who was sat in the captains chair.
"Ms Terika. If you do allow it I'd prefer to abstain from voting in this election for command." she requested in the usual monotone voice.
...
Markus had sat himself down in a chair and kicked his legs up on a crate.
"I've only ever been part o' Daggers crew, but the customers we 'ad were some snowflakes all right."
He thought about the various crews that had visited his port, "Well just before I left, about two months back, we 'ad Captain Zumakal and his entourage of Tahmk grunts as our guests.
Zumakal had come to get some ingredients to some kind of mumbo jumbo and needed Boorang blood."
Markus stood up, took of his jacket and continued gesturing while he told the story.
" 'Owever, Zumakal wasn't exactly nice to his crew, often abusing them and intentionally putting them into harms way for his own amusement. So when we 'ad been trekking a good few days into the bush when Zumakal decided to touch a plant I 'ad told 'im not to. And hold on to yer nickers cause 'eres where we get nasty."
He observed the faces of those listening, then he continued.
"Zumakal was paralyzed but could still hear and see, so I told the person next in the chain of command, a Tahmk navigator by the name of Draga that we needed to haul him back to the harbor.
But Draga had somethin' else in mind. 'er and the other Tahmk 'ad gotten fed up with Zumakal and offered 5 times the original pay so they could get rid of him."
Markus crossed his arms and stroked his beard, a small expression of disgust appeared on his face.
"I agreed to this and, I swear on me mum's grave, those Tahmk literally gutted and ate Zumakal right there on the spot, bones and all. I'm used to seein' some nasty stuff but this takes the cake, I almost vomited. But anyhow, when we got back to port they paid up and left on Zumakals ship. Where they went and what they're doin' now I don' know, and I'd rather not as well."
"That's... Not what I expected to hear." Said Maddox with two raised eyebrows.
What a broken nose? That's it?
"That and a bullet grazed me in the back. I've had worse, but figured I should see you for a check up."
---
Amy had submited her vote while listening to Markus tell his story.
Vote for Yuga.
-Amy
After Markus was finished, saying that she felt a bit nauseous, would be an understatement.
Frosty was punching a message into a small monitor inside his craft.
I VOTE FOR...
Oh dear. It looks like Frosty can't make up his mind. While he had no doubts that the crew were capable of doing their respective jobs well, he couldn't think of any that could lead. Except for two, Yuga and Hariim. Both of them were a big help during the shootout as they conducted the operation from inside the ship, but he was torn between the two. Yuga has all the qualities of a leader, but also some unpleasant ones as he witnessed when Porter first came onboard. Her prejudices could turn away some very promising recruits and could potentially get a crew member killed if she didn't like them enough, or if they simply had cybernetics. Hariim, on the other hand, also is very much capable, but Frosty was worried what if someone tried to hack into his cybernetics? What if some pirate group hacked into him, and gave the crew bad orders to do bad things?
It was either Posh Blue Psychic or Mechanical Boy.
He had to think about this some more.
