Taylor heard her name called, looking around. Looks like she was needed. She waved at Amy, Dio, Mad, and Markus, before departing and heading up towards the bridge. Once she arrived, she stood near Yuga and Yanim. She shifted into her military stance, parade rest, as soon as she stepped up. "Caine reporting. Congratulations on your promotion, ma'am. You requested to see me?" she said.
(( Wow, I just about to get work on Jag putting himself up for the role of Captain and his return to the crew and actions for the battle. Only to refresh and find that it was all for naught. Now I'm left felling brittler and pissed the fuck off over really nothing. )) (( God, I'm letting this game get to me too much. Worrying too much about not posting, then taking a moment to relax from the stress to only find that I fucked up and let my work get skipped. It's just an fucking RP on the internet but it's getting to me way too much, I think I need to leave the thread for awhile. I don't know anymore. ))
Yuga turned to see Taylor to deck. SHe looked at her with her usual relaxed eyes. "Ahh, Ms Caine. As you were. Rask here urged me to pick a first mate, and I prepared to do that even before I was elected. In short, Congratulations on you new promotion, First Mate Caine." She paused to absorb some vapors from her compass. "Your combat experience far outweighs mine, and thusly I see it fit for you to lead the ground teams. You also have a favorable relationship with the rest of the crew and I count on you voicing your opinions in case you'd like to object to any future orders." she tilted her head slightly backwards and squinted at Taylor, "Can I count on this, first mate Caine?"
Frosty was woken up by the sudden announcement, and probably wouldn't be able to fall asleep after it once he heard who was voted in. He was at first excited to hear who the new captain might be, but any optimism he had perished when he heard Yuga's name. While Yuga might have been a captain before from what he's heard, she seems to lack one important thing a leader must have: Discipline. She lets her views of others get in the way of things, and her arrogance burns the brightest out of everyone else in the crew. Basically, in short, she's a jerk. And now she's the captain. Captain Jerk. Frosty had an uncomfortable feeling his time with this crew might not end well since it's so easy to get on Yuga's bad side if she isn't looking down on you already. Frosty didn't want to wake up Hariim to tell him the bad news. He was a cyborg, and telling him that the one person who hates cybernetics was made captain would surely blow his fuses.
"Can I count on this, first mate Caine?"
Taylor shifted to a more relaxed stance, then nodded once. "Yes, ma'am." First Mate. Not really all that different that what she used to do back in the SDF. Her experience leading infantry and fire teams in the field would be put to good use, as would her officer training.
Amy heard the announcement and was pleased that person she chose had won. She got up from the table. "I'll be right back." She hurried over to her brother's room and entered it, she shook him awake. "No, get that mutt off me..Oh, it's you. Why did you wake me up?" "The crew picked a new captain. The ayr, Yuga." "Oh, thats nice. Wake me up when we have an update on the mission." Amy smacked him on the forehead slightly. "Get up, you ass! We should go and show some respect." "I'll get up and do that when I have at least a few hours of sleep. You are full of energy for some reason so you go do it. Start with a good first impresion." He said as he tried to go back to sleep. Amy was a little frustrated with her brother so she quickly pulled the band aid from his nose to annoy him. She chuckled as he made an annoyed face. She had missed these types of interactions. After leaving her room, she went to the bridge. Looks like Yuga and Taylor were already in a discussion. She stood near the doorway not wanting to interupt.
Yuga nodded to Taylor, being satisfied by her answer. She looked towards Amy, who had just entered the bridge and was standing at the door. "Ms Korunov, I take it you have something to discuss with me?"
[Heading to bed. You've got control over Taylor, Radley.]
Maddox then entered the bridge and did a quick salute. "Armorer Graves, reporting in. Congratulations on the promotion." He nodded towards Taylor. "Congratulations to you as well." Maddox then turned to Yanim. "Will you stay with us untill the mission is done?"
((Going to work, replying can be very slow if at all.))
Amy stood in place and gave a salute of her own. "Amy Koronova, ghost recon and surveillance, reporting for fulltime duty. Wanted to congratulate you on your respective promotions and pledge my fulltime support to the crew, maam."
Yuga inspected Amy and nodded. "Excellent. As you have yourself been classified as combat personnel I will put you under Caine's command." Yuga looked back to Taylor. "I would advise you consider Ms Koronovas and Mr Kovals uses as ghost recons in future operations." Yuga sat down in the captains chair. "Since your brother is most likely asleep, is there any guestions you'd like to ask on his behalf?"
"There is one, although I doubt he'll ask. Will you keep him on ship duty only, after today's incident?"
Sledge flopped into bed, determined to get some sort of rest before the night was over. He had a race to help sabotage in the morning.
As Moloch sailed through the stars, he pulled out his hookah, lit some tobacco, and took a massive bong rip from it. (( Happy 420 everyone. :v:))
(( I just realized that if Donatello becomes leader of the mafia, he'll be Don Don :v: ))
(( Okay I got my grades up so I can finally give myself some time to post here! )) Amelia walks into the ship. With the crowd slowing her down, it took much longer to get back. Perhaps... too long. She hurries down the corridor to the medbay then stops. Her hands hesitantly hovers over the bars of the door as she prepares herself for the sight of her only childhood friend in crititical condition. After a few seconds, the door opens, and Amelia steps in. Her heart stops as Poter, the man who has helped her through many tough moments in life, comforted her, protected her, now lies on an operation table, filled with holes. She always thought he was invincible, he's taken a tank shell to the face and came out with only a few scratches. Amelia kneels down in a chair and sits next to him. Staring, trying to comprehend that he can't be there to comfort her. He can only lie there, motionless. A tear falls out of her eye, then another, then another. A woman's wimper echoes through the ship. She heels over his body, letting out her emotions.
((Once again I'm going to be gone for a week. Yay, traveling. If the race begins while I'm gone that's fine.))
Bucky hits the boost button as soon as the countdown on the timer reaches zero, and displays the full extent of her reflexes and processing capabilities. Janos' racer is fast, extremely fast, in the straights, but can't quite keep a tight corner. The night goes by quickly thanks to the fun of the game. Bucky takes the lion's share of wins, but Janos is able to pull a victory or two out of his hat. Overall, Bucky has a lot of fun. "Damn, John! It's already 0900. Been a while since I got to pull an all-nighter just gaming." ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Hariim wakes up and slinks out of his quarters, and notes the news on the election. He checks the ship's computer systems, and his feeds on the race track. With his ducks all in a row, he goes up to the bridge to begin his duties proper.
János was sure that those were pity victories he managed to pull out of his hat, but he didn't mind. The experience was fun. "Haha, well, would you look at that? You're right," he responded to Bucky commenting on the time. He got off his seat. "That was a lot of fun, Bucky! I really needed something like this."
(( Fuck it, I'm sticking around. )) While sulking the crew's surroundings at the rooftops, using the cover of darkness to slowly move up to an good position to overview the chaos below. Hoping to shrike at the right moment. However, Jag had came across a very interesting individual setting up shop with a high powered rifle on air conditioning unit with the cafe in it's sights. Naturally, the rain cloaked figure's ideal of a perfect encounter did go as plan. In the proceeding hours, the Lone Sanghvi made it's way back to ship. Through fairly late and with a rather unwilling partner in tow. Jag entered the bay of hanger, careless throwing the bloodied and bonded marksmen onto the cold steel floor of the hanger, letting out a loud thud as his body hit rusted and worn metal. Maybe breaking something through his lack of a right arm seemed to far larger concern for him to worry about at the moment. Jag took an moment to look around before activating it's implant's intercom. Letting out a notable hiss that ringed in the empty space.
Freelancer Taylor, I request your's and Warden Celofán presence down at the Hanger. I have acquired an individual of interest that needs to be...Conversed. "The last group of supply ships should be at Firebase Ares within the hour. High Councilor Wayford send his regards." Said Lord Admiral Zhaneys as he spoke towards a holoscreen to his left, currently showing the inside of the command bunker used by Lord General Cross to manage and organize the massive SDF force currently present on Novithus, a force which had slowly been moving towards the city of Hoxith. Kaspar nodded and smiled. "You'll have to return the gesture on my behalf, I'm afraid I won't be leaving Novithus anytime soon." Zhaneys chuckled and was just about to say something when alarms started to go off inside Kaspars bunker and on the bridge of the SNV Redstar. An SDF officer rushed up to the Lord Generals side and saluted. "Lord General! The Creed forces are mobilizing, they have left their own defense zone!" Kaspar pointed at the soldier. "New order, all forces are to enter battle status red. If they're leaving that shield we're not going to sit around here. Mobilize everyone!" The officer nodded and rushed away. Kaspar turned to Zhaneys. "Lord Admiral, I want your battlegroup combat-ready. If that shield goes down its going to mean one thing: the Creed ships will attempt to flee. We can not let the Zealots Korunov and Roth escape this system." Viktor nodded. "You know you can count on me, comrade. Good luck." "Same to you." With that said the transmission ended and Viktor turned to his right. "First Officer Zhu, open up the battlegroup channel." He rose up from his chair and walked towards the bridge window. He glanced at Zhu who nodded. "Attention battlegroup, this Lord Admiral Zhaneys. The Creed forces occuppying Novithus are mobilizing. So are we. All vessels are to enter combat status red effective immeadiately. Form up around the Redstar and ready your weapons. Zhaneys out." --- Mercury squinted with his eyes. "Uh-oh." Warren and the rest of the twenty men in the FOB quickly came to life. He crouched next to Mercury. "Is that...?" Mercury nodded. "Yup, those are Creed. With Creed tanks and Creed ships." Warren sighed and turned towards the other soldiers in the trench. "We're red, move to your combat positions now." --- "We are in combat status red! All hands on deck, to your battlestations! This is not a drill, I repeat, this is not a drill!" Yelled Zhu over the comms system. He turned to Zhaneys who was currently observing a holographic screen showing an overview of the battlegroup, at the tip was the Redstar followed by twenty other Sol navy vessels of varying sizes. Currently the entire battlegroup had formed up into a chevron pointing towards the dozens of Creed vessels currently ascending from the planet. Due to their size it would take a few minutes for the enemy vessels to recover as a jump right after ascending could overload the onboard generators and potnetially cause a massive explosion. Within a matter of minutes both fleets had formed up and were now facing eachother. At the rear of the enemy fleet were two massive flagships; the Zealots themselves. Infront of them were dosens of line ships commanded by fanatical officers, somethign which was a weakness as much as it was a feat of strenght. "All vessels, ahead full. Transfer 50% power to frotnal shields. Distribute the rest across the port side, stern and starboard side. Load gauss cannons and railguns. Prepare all kinetic cannons. We will shatter their shields and break their armor long before they reach us. For Terra!" "For Terra!" Repeated the captains as they received Zhaneys orders. He turned to Zhu. "What is their status?" Zhu shook his head. "All enemy vessels are holding, weapons and shields are active. Internal power fluctuations could indicate that they're diverting power to speed up the ascension recovery." "Timetable?" "Fifteen minutes at best." Zhaneys stroked his beard. "Prepare all fighter and bomber squadrons. As soon as the first three volleys have hit their targets they are to swoop in and break their first line." "Yes, sir." --- "Move move move!" Yelled the squadron leader as she rushed across the corridor. For each pair of bunks she passed two new pilots fell in line. "Listen up Avengers, they're sending us out to escort the bombers. It's up to us to make sure that these Creed bastards doesn't make it out of here in one piece." She tucked away her braid as she put her helmet on. "Let's give 'em hell!" "Hoorah!" --- "First volley, away!" Said Zhu as the guns of the SDF fleet roared. The hundreds of gauss and railgun particles slammed into the shields of first and second lines of Creed vessels, causing some to collapse right away. Desperate captains began to move their ships to avoid the second volley however it was too late as several ships were torn to pieces by hundreds of kinetic projectiles. "Hit, good effect on target. Preparing second volley." "Hold all orders!" Yelled Zhaneys as he stood up. For reasons unknown all of the Creed line ships started to vibrate violently. Soon dozens of blue energy beams shot out from the vessels and into the flagships. "Sir, all Creed line ships are without shields. Did they just sacrifice their entire raiding fleet?" Viktor slammed his fist into the chair. "Cyka! They turned their shields into raw energy, the flagships are about to jump. All ships, fire at will. Prepare MAC volley, fire when ready!" Outright chaos erupted as all the SDF vessels opened fire with everything they had, obliterating line after line of Creed vessels. Meanwhile the flagships sat idly at the rear, seemingly doing nothing. "This is taking too long, gunner, fire MAC now!" A officer nodded and soon the Redstar shook following the powerful discharge of the MAC gun. The large projectile slammed into a small escort ship and punched right through it like it was made out of paper. The shot then passed through three more ships untill it detonated after hitting the shield of one of the Creed flagships. Soon all the other SDF ships followed, firing their massive cannons located at the bow. While effective, the two flagships were still unharmed. "Energy signature detected, they're about to jump!" Said Zhu in a angry tone. "Which one do we focus on Lord Admiral?" Viktor's eyes dashed from one target to the other. "Fire on the left target!" "All ships, open fire!" In a spectacular show of force, the entire SDF battlegroup opened fire at the same time. Twenty-one MAC projectiles were headed for one target, even with improved shields the odds of surviving were low. The entire bridge held its breath as they observed the overview screen. After what seemed like an eternity the projectiles hit the flagship, piercing through its shield, hull and crew. Before anyone knew it the ship was pulverized. Before he could send his next order, a blinding flash caused Viktor to cover his eyes. When he looked up, the second flagship was gone. In its wake was a field of debris.
"I would advise you consider Ms Koronovas and Mr Kovals uses as ghost recons in future operations."
"Yes, ma'am." she responded, before looking over at Amy and Mad and nodding once. She wasn't going to change either of the two from what they were good at. A few moments later, she received a message from Jag. He had been MIA during the hotel incident, and had apparently captured someone. "Excuse me, Captain. Jag needs to speak with me in the hangar." said Taylor, before saluting her and departing for the hangar.
Yuga nodded to Taylor, "If Mr Jag's errand has anything to do with the operation I trust you will keep me informed." She got out of the chair and turned to Mad and Amy, focusing her gaze on the later, "Your brother has been employed on this vessel for such an extended period of time that I will not restrict his duties. Further evaluation will be needed to decided if indeed anyone will need to be assigned to other responsibilities, which I hope is not the case."
"Ma'am, our records speak for themselves. If that's not enough I'm sure Amy here could show you how to infiltrate a docked ship without raising any alarms. As for myself I'd be happy to show you what I can do with a weapon." --- Vakarus entered the medbay and quietly approached Amelia. He placed one of his hands gently on her shoulder. "Amelia'vakrin, our House stands with you. Do not fear, for he is strong."
Amelia looks up. Her face covered with tears, two trails down her face. Her lips shiver like she was in freezing weather. The two innocent puppy eyes she always had were now crinkled up. Audiable sniffs coming from her nose like she had a terrible cold. "T-thanks for... *sniff*... trying to... cheer me up... it's *sniff* it's just I've never... seen him like this..." She then lays her head back down on Porter's body, weeping again.

We need to do this again sometime." Bucky stands up too, and gathers her things. She connects wirelessly to the ship and checks system statuses in an entopic vision display. Everything looks groovy. "Wanna grab some breakfast?"
"If by that, you mean, 'hang out with you some more while you eat', then sure!" János said in a quirky manner.
As Taylor walked, she sent a message to both Abraxas and János.
Abraxas, János, you're both needed in the hangar bay. We've got a possible prisoner, courtesy of Jag. And bring a mop. - Taylor
Soon enough, she arrived where Jag was. Her eyes went straight to the bloodied man on the floor. "Welcome back, Jag. I'm guessing he's what kept you occupied during the shootout?" she said, drawing her revolver from her holster.
Jag patiently stood in wait for Taylor, the Freelancer begin to look through the ship's records while waiting beside the injured hit men. Ignoring his gasps for air and bittier cries for help. Surprisingly, it seemed that leadership had changed hands in it's absence with the Ayr as acting captain. It's body let a sign at the first sight of the news, it seemed that Jag needed to take a more direct approach in the direction of the Muramasa from now on. The thought of a market peddler being in command of an vessel and crew that was going to participating in more demanding work field then simply bargaining off goods to pirates and smugglers. However, Jag quickly snapped out of it's train of thoughts. Looking directly towards freelancer Taylor.
"Welcome back, Jag. I'm guessing he's what kept you occupied during the shootout?"
Jag lifted it's head sightly to the left at the question. "Well...There was two but soft-carbons tend not to deal with 6 to 7 meter long drops.." Answered Taylor in bit of an sly tone. "But you would be correct in that assumption through Freelancer Taylor.' Jag said before looking over at the bleeding man, trying craw from the towering obsidian monster standing next to him. Jag quickly then stabbed it's edge of talon into the steel floor of the hanger. Letting out a loud, pricing sound that briefly rang throughout the room. Shifting it's itself to face him down, his eyes filled of fear as it locked onto the featureless head of the massive Sanghvi. He then let himself succumb to his wounds and pasted out on the floor of the hanger. Jag gave a sight nod before slowly turning 'back to face Taylor. "My apologies Freelancer Taylor but sometimes you need to reassure a guest's a place." Jag said in cold voice, readjusting it's cloak after it spoke.
