Maddox saluted as Taylor walked in. He put down one of the rifles and smiled. "How's this whole First Officer thing going?"
"How's this whole First Officer thing going?"
"Almost feels like I'm back in the service. Just less yelling." she said, returning the smile. "So what's this about a project?"
Maddox chuckled. "That must feel good." He picked up one of the rifles and tossed it to her before repeating everything he had told Yuga. "What do you think? Yuga wants us to distribute these rifles to those who are interested, keep a few in reserve and sell off the rest. Quite honestly I'm not too fond of the last part of that order."

I guess we can at least try to sell them off to someone responsible so they don't come back to bite us in the ass." she says, converting the weapon to an LMG. "I could really use one. I'm sure a few of the others could use it too. What's the price you're thinking for the ones we have to sell off?"
Maddox shrugged. "Depends if we're just selling off the basic model or with accessories included. Either way it'll be a couple of thousand credits in total." He gestured towards the weapons. "You won't find anything of this quality on Prospera, that's for sure."

Any higher and its overpriced." she said, looking the newly converted rifle in her hands over. She looked up and nodded. "Sound good to you?"
Maddox nodded. "Sounds like a plan. I'll send a message to all crewmembers, after that I'll go and sell off the rest. I happen to know someone here in Prospera who'd be interested in these."
Attention crew, handmade modular weapons are ready to be recquisitioned at the armory. Send me a PM if interested. Tactical accessories included. / Maddox
I happen to know someone here in Prospera who'd be interested in these."
"Roger that. I'll take one, and I know Valkyrie will want one in SMG format." she said, setting the rifle in her hands down on the table next to her.
Maddox grunted. "I'll pack two sets for the two of you. They'll be in your quarters by the end of the day."
Maddox grunted. "I'll pack two sets for the two of you. They'll be in your quarters by the end of the day."
Taylor gave him a :ok:, then glanced over at Amy. "Settling in alright, Amy?" she asked, turning her attention to her. They really hadn't talked much since she had been aboard. .... Valkyrie grinned. The gynoid was pretty damn fast. She herself wasn't that fast, but was pretty decent. They'd do fine during the race. Question was if Owen could actually win it.
Settling in alright, Amy?
"Just fine ma'am. It's been a while since I've been in an actual crew of people that are working together and have a chain of command. It feels nice to not worry about everyone spliting up the moment something goes wrong."
[Crashing. Blorgyboy, you've got control of Valkyrie for now. You guys can use Taylor for whatever.]
With Taylor gone, János sat down and continued to watch Harvey. He felt like he could do this all day with the relaxation he had a bit back. He noticed that Maddox had sent a message. He checked it to find something about handmade modular weapons being ready. Considering his position, he felt like he could use something like that. He sent him a quick message.
Interested. - Celofán
Abraxas took in several bags of med aid to the Medbay, while bringing a spare gas mask on his side, putting it on and reattaching his helmet for further work. He sat down and filed documents as a TV screen showed a reported witnessing a colossal tower.
INTERGALACTICA Sashl: "We are witnessing the completion of Oden Tower, a network to establish full connection between all major races in an effort to establish new relations within the Galaxy. A Hub will be formed with all registered members. This landmark is built by the efforts of UGC and a recent organization, Morpheus ARI in hopes to balance a brighter future." Dysley: "Several civilizations have expressed skeptic opinions on the matter, while others have gained interest in the small project. Morpheus ARI have furthermore have given the liberty of launching major security protocols due to concerns of possible attacks such as the Odenia Incident two years ago." Sashl: "Although UGC have suffered massive losses during the past years they still remain optimistic in order to challenge the problems arising throughout their sectors."
Abraxas completed his documents, pushing up the chair to the table and then went out of the Med Bay to prepare for the Grand Prix Mission.
(( Sorry, passed out early last night. )) Sledge joined the rest of the pit crew. "Jacked jackman ready to jack, man." He'd made himself late thinking up that line.
Owen wanted to see Sledge in action, but giving straight orders didn't seem like the best idea. "Could you do me a favor? Try jacking the car up and letting it down on both sides."
Amelia slumped back in her chair, closing her eyes, and finally went to sleep. Kinda against her will, with her own body going to rest without her permission, but she didn't care. She can finally relax, and almost immediately started to have some dreams...
Owen wanted to see Sledge in action, but giving straight orders didn't seem like the best idea. "Could you do me a favor? Try jacking the car up and letting it down on both sides."
Sledge shrugged and grabbed the nearby power jack, positioned it like a pro, and jacked the front end of the car up effortlessly. He then did the same for the back, no problems. Nice and fast. Weirdly quiet too, like he was trying not to be caught.
Owen was pleased with Sledge's demonstration. "Normally we jack up the car on its side, but as long as we're coordinated, we should be fine."
"So where is the fuel cap on this car? Left or right?"
"Left side, it's usually the same side as the pit wall." Owen responded. "Most tracks have it on the left, a few have it on the right. Pretty straightforward job, huh?"
"Well if you thought Sledge and Bucky were competent at their jobs..." Frosty did a hop and landed with his legs spreader a bit further. "Watch THIS! " Frosty daintily walks over to the car, pops open the fuel can, sticks his finger in it, pauses for a moment, and then takes it out. He then did a dramatic pose.
"Bravo!" said Valkyrie, chuckling and clapping. They'd be fine as long as they can keep their speed up during the race, and Owen outruns everyone else.
One and a half years ago... "...Broken neck, dislocated shoulder, fractured pelvis, a few chipped vertebrae, broken jaw, shattered femur..." the medical officer rattled on and on about the injuries everyone had sustained in the bar room brawl. Taylor remained silent, standing still with her arms folded behind her back. Valkyrie, however, was standing next to her. Grinning as if she had won the fucking lottery, a toothpick twirling about in her mouth. Neither of them had taken really any injuries, beyond bruises and bloodied noses. He continued till he was near the end, and Valkyrie spoke up. "And one dead." she said, punctuating the list. "...one fatality. Gren Steinwell." muttered the medical officer after a pause. Valkyrie folded her arms, a shit-eating grin on her face. That's when their boss finally spoke up. "That's thousands of credits I'll be spending on hiring a new batch of mercs for the next job, AS WELL AS paying for the damage to the bar." stated the man. 'Masterson' was what his nametag read, a member of the 'Star Wolf' group of mercenaries. Taylor continued to look at the floor. "Hopefully the next batch of mercs won't be dumb fucks like Gren was." said Valkyrie. Masterson cut her a look, then actually nodded. "He did get what was coming to him, as well as any of the others that tried to help him. I was going to fire him today, but you just saved me as well as the next guy a whole lot of trouble." "So what's the next mission, boss?" said Taylor, finally. Masterson looked down at his tablet. "Eh. Uxor wants some mercs to help them with an insurgency, but I turned them down. Don't have the manpower for that. Just gonna have to wait a few days and see what else comes up." "Understood." said Taylor, simply. Valkyrie grunted. "Waiting again..." she muttered.
((Nobody else wants a rifle?))
Amy looked over the rifles Maddox had designed. She wasn't all too sure if she would be needing one, but an SMG could come in handy in case of someone getting too close. "I'll take one for myself, Mad. Could use a quick solution for lucky bastards who dodge sniper shots." --- Alex had finished his morning duties in the mess hall. Well most of them anyway. The pit crew were hard at work and while he couldn't be of any mechanical help, he could at least assist them in keeping up morale. He had prepared a can of Krokuna coffee. Stronger than regular coffee, but tastes like you would be drinking lemonade. The ingredients were hard to come by, but he figured that the crew earned it. Before going to the pit crew he stopped by medical, to check up on Amelia and Porter. He heard that she had been looking over her friend the whole night and now had passed out. He didn't exactly want to wake her, but boss gave the order for everyone to be at the race. He started to gently shake her shoulder untill she started to wake up. "Sorry to wake you like this, but boss want's us to be ready. Here have this." He gave her a cup of the coffee. "It's not hot chocolate, but it should wake you up. I'll be outside with the rest of the crew if you want to talk." He exited the medbay and headed to where the pit crew were practising.
"You've made a good choice." Said Mad smiling as he packed up another set. In little less than twenty minutes he had arranged the twenty weapons and all their accessories into three piles. First pile was the requisitioned weapons for Taylor, Valkyrie, János, Amy and for himself as well. After all, he'd rather walk into a fight with too many weapons rather than too few. Second pile was the reserves which would be kept locked down inside their cases in the armory. Five sets. Third pile was the weapons he had been ordered to sell. It was half of the first batch, accessories included and while he wasn't fond of the thought it would however generate alot of credits. Maddox then locked in the five reserve sets before grabbing the requisitioned ones and loading them onto a small hovercart. Stopping outside of the quarters, Maddox left the weapons right outside the four doors of Taylor, Valkyrie, János & Amy while he left his own set underneath his own bunk. Making sure that nobody was watching, Maddox produced his circular device and tapped it three times followed by a pause. After which he tapped the button twice before holding the device close to his mouth. "Outbound. In cover. Weapons. Need credentials. In K's." He then returned the device to his pockets before heading back to the armory. Having loaded the remaining ten weapon sets, now covered by a tarp, Maddox nodded towards Amy. "If anyone asks, I'm out. I need to sell these remaining sets. Captain's orders." After suiting up and walking into the busy streets of the city for roughly ten minutes Maddox arrived at a seemingly abandoned store. He opened up the door and walked in. The store was selling books, both physical copies and holographic ones. Numbering in the hundreds, the store was far from empty. An old man at the desk nodded. "Welcome, how can I help you?" Maddox parked the cart and nodded. "Hi, I'm looking for Memorials of Sol. Preferably on paper." Here's my card. A white card slid accross the desk. The man nodded. "Of course, sit down in room seven and I'll be with you shortly." He grabbed the card and walked into a separate room behind the desk. Pushing the hovercart infront of him, Maddox entered a small room with '7' engraved on the door. The room was, like the rest of the store, spartanic and only contained a small table with a lamp on it alongside a old leather chair. He parked the cart and sat down. Five minutes later the man arrived with a thick book. "Here you go, hope you enjoy it." Maddox opened up the book which contained the self-biography of a famous SDF soldier describing his role in the unification war. After turning ten pages, Maddox found a rectangular hole cut into the book. Inside it was the white card he had handed over earlier alongside 100k in credits. Maddox smiled, emptied the book and left it at the table. He then got up and walked out. After circling around on numerous sidestreets and passing through dozens of alleyways Maddox got back to the Muramasa thirty minutes later. Back in the armory he sent a message to Yuga.
Captain, Ten MAWS sets were sold. 100 000 credits were paid by the client, a guy who works with high-end private security. We don't have to worry about the weapons falling in the wrong hands. / Maddox
Owen looked up at Valk, "I think you're the only one who hasn't demonstrated your skills." Owen then saw Alex approaching. "Looks like you may have an audience." ((Just realized Owen has been in his helmet this whole time...whoops))
"I think you're the only one who hasn't demonstrated your skills." Owen then saw Alex approaching. "Looks like you may have an audience."
"Alright. I'll need two fresh tires." said Valkyrie, walking over to the car. A few moments later, she was set up. "Time me. I haven't done this in a while, so I might be a bit off on my original time." she said, as she knelt down next to the front tire. She took a breath, and a moment later got to work. The lugs were unscrewed with precision and rapid speed, before she slid off the tire and rolled it to the side. She slipped on a fresh one, the lugs were screwed back on, and soon enough she was on to the back tire. Same quickness and precision as before. As the last lug was screwed into place, she stepped back. "Done." she said, holding the air wrench up. "Last time I did it on two tires, it was about 3.6 seconds." She had worked on some of the Hellion vehicles, and prided herself at how fast she could get things switched out and put on. Nothing like Bucky of course, but in the human realm of things still pretty fast.
"Not bad" Owen said as he lifted up his visor. "Just remember that if a wheel is loose I'm gonna be right back in the pits. I'd rather you guys be fast and accurate, but if you have to pick one, pick accuracy"
