Lion nodded before hopping into the Lancier. He pulled down the window and gestured for the group to move out as he begun revving up the engine.
"Package. Will be delivered to the Archius XI after the exchange with the Odyssey Sanghvi sect for the Solari Hunter drone 7-34 to the Archius X." One of large man-like machines stated. "Destination. Termina Central." The other one said after a second of the other finishing it's sentence. The figure in font stared at the floor for a moment before looking back up to Jeremy. "Alright, If everything goes according to plan then we're met in orbit when your crew is ready to leave. Again sorry to ask for an flavor as we risk our asses for your officer, I think you would appreciate it that your officer's life doesn't end in dirty trial- He said before being cutting himself off mid sentence, clenching his frists as stood completely still. "Pardon. Lieutenant 592 is overstressed and for any other inconveniences he or we may have caused you..Mr.Starhawk." The left robot said as 592 looked at the floor, clenching his frists with his arms at his side. "Have an nice day." The other machine said after 592 stubbled for a bit after recovering from his trance. "Y-Yes yes...hav-have an good day or whatever" He said in a sutter voice as one of his men open the door behind Jeremy.
Jeremy sighed turning around as he went out the building, taking his ATD. He launched his ATD through the desert ready to go. This week has been busy. Jeremy could shiver as this current day has just begun with groups heading in their way. These mercs Varn was talking about, these men he just met minutes ago. What more could happen? He sped up as he saw the disguised ship laying there. He dropped his ATD and deactivated it, taking off the facial covers and wiped the excess sweat. If anything he needed to do it was to contact the rest of the crew about these mercs. What bothered him more was this package. If these men were working for the Sanghvi sect and they know about the Crimson Son then they know what business they're trying to deal with. The question was if they are in it for their own gain? A group meeting was in order scheduled in the next hour. "All crew members, we are having a meeting in the bridge in the next hour. It isn't mandatory but it's something that should be discussed." Jeremy sent the message to the others, yawning as he went to the top floor. Before he took the elevator, he saw Andron coming out. "Good evening, Captain Jeremy. There has been a recent incident regarding a Feeblian wrecking havoc. Do not worry, I solved the matter personally." "What? Squish?" Jeremy asked. "What happened?" "It's a rather long story that traces back to a tomato incident. This man has evolved himself using a serum. I placed him into the Brig until he reverts back." "Right." Jeremy pretended to understand that and entered the elevator.
The group had arrived back at the ship. Varn got off his ATD and saw that the captain send a message. He had some time till then. He went down to the Brig to check up on the prisoner. The sight of the overgrown thing in the holding cell surprised him. "Oh don't worry about him sir. That's the Feblian from the labs. The big robot guy, Andron, brought him here. Apparently he injected himself with something and "grew up". Now were looking after him." Varn quickly changed the subject. "What about out other prisoner?" "Hasn't said a word since you left. Tried to cut himself with the knife when we brought him food. Dr. Heilburg did a quick checkup on him. Nothing out of the ordinary." "If he tried to kill himself, he probably has something else to hide. Keep me updated if tries something else." Varn left the Brig and went up to the Bridge.
Jeremy saw Varn come out of the elevator, though the battle on Picaea left a lot of hate on the merc for now there were more things to worry about. "Have you seen any unusual activity around the area?" He asked Varn indirectly.
"Besides a reporter, nothing else. Don't worry about that, he's looking for the wrong ship."
Lion parked the Lancier and went for the armory. He sat down at his desk and began working on some "special" weapons.
"Reporter eh, probably to get some info on the settlement." Jeremy said while checking his personal email through the holoband. Jeremy sighed and turned to Varn. "I think we should leave this place, we're attracting too much attention already... I met mercs somewhere on the planet, they want me to deliver a package to Termina Central. Varn, the Sanghvi have Viper."
"Why would the Sanghvi hold Viper hostage? Did the mercs have any markings on them? Anything?"
"That's exactly what I want to find out. One of those mercs said the probability of Viper's survival after 48 hours is 0.01%. I have no markings on them whatsoever. They're basically blackmailing us and I don't like it. At all."
(( Hey, sorry I've been absent for the last few days. I'm moving out of my apartment. I've been writing a post, but it isn't ready yet. Once I finish getting out of here then I'll finish it up. Sledge is gonna keep sleeping for the duration. I am keeping up with the thread however. Good reading, nice job everyone. :3 ))
"If they had no marking, they were probably free agents. Speaking of mercs, I tracked down the source of out other problem. A man named Bromun." Varn tapped a few buttons and the hollo-table displayed a face. The face was similar to Varn's. The differences were that Varn had a scar above his nose and the displayed face was wearing an eye-patch. Otherwise they were nearly identical. "I see you noticed the family resemblance."
Having parked his ATD, Dwan rushed to the bar to check if it is fine, greeting everyone he sees. Having arrived, he noticed that someone had raided the bar! Dwan knew exactly what to do. He repeated what he did some time ago and found out who the culprit was. It was Arthur! "That dracatfucker!", Dwan through to himself. This was quite some incriminating evidence he had against Arthur, especially the part where he whips his dick out and takes a dickpic. He watched as Arthur stumbled into the mess hall, meaning that the one who's caused the mess there was probably him too. He sneaked into his secret quarters behind the exotic drinks cabinet, making sure no one watches him enter. Calming himself down, his left hand lights up in its blue flame once more and he opens a portal into another universe. He walks into it and the portal closes behind him. About 15 minutes later, another portal opened, as Dwan threw a bunch of alcohol onto his bed. "That should replace what Arthur stole from me.", he said to himself. He deactivates his caldiur, noticing that he's still in his casual outside clothing. He changes back into his bartender uniform and begins carrying the alcohol into the bar, filling in the empty cabinets.
Lion picked up the newly-made weapon from the machine and walked over to the workbench. He brought out his decoration laser and inscribed the phrase "Peace through superior firepower" to the receiver. He grabbed the weapon and put it on a mobile rack next to four other unique-looking guns. After moving the rack to the firing range Lion called Varn, Dwan and Jeremy. "Requesting assistance with trying out a few weapons."
"We'll talk about this later. Gotta see what's Lion pulling out now." Jeremy said as he went to the elevator shaft. He went down towards the armory and closed in on Lion.
"All crew members, we are having a meeting in the bridge in the next hour. It isn't mandatory but it's something that should be discussed."
Yanim was already in her quarters and preparing for some much needed sleep when the message came through. She was in no condition to attend, and so she sent a private message to the captain saying so. In her place, a drone would be sent to record the conversations and Yanim would deal with any lingering questions after the fact.
Iska had kept to herself in her room, adding her fathers personal marking to her own. She had grieved for a good amount of time, but she had finally begun coming to grips with the situation. She had briefly talked with sledge in the messhall when she had gone to eat earlier. He brought her up to date on what had happened and afterwards went on about how he accidentaly had crashed the ATD. Iska liked sledge, there was just something about his way of being him that made her feel like she was talking to a true clansman. She had even laughed abit during the encounter. She still knew that she would feel sorrow when she carried out the Tomb Ceremony, but it had to be done. Life can't always be mijak beef and beer. But still, she was going to be strong for the crew. A Volgrim does not cry. She chuckled for herself. When she recieved the message from the captain she decided to attend so that she could speak about why she would need to return home briefly.
Pippin sighed and leaned against the wall, toying with his pistol (wait that sounds wrong). All this was a bit much for him, it wasn't what he had signed up for.
"We'll talk about this later. Gotta see what's Lion pulling out now." "Go on without me captain, I'll get the information we have on threats and tasks sorted out here. It's best that we get everyone of the crew up to speed." Before Varn prepared the information, he send a message to Arthur.
Have an uninvited guest in cell 5B in the Brig. He's withholding information. Can I borrow the truth serum you were making for the Crimson sun agent?
After that he continued with his work. Around the time he was finishing up, Iska and the drone had entered the Bridge. "Sorry guys, the captain went down to the armory for a few minutes. I'll go get him so we can get everyone up to speed."
{I'm afraid I have to pull out from the RP altogether, the RP is progressing at a really fast pace for me to catch up}
Having finished up cleaning and refilling the bar, Dwan noticed that Lion had sent him a message over some weapons. He called Byron to inform him over the mess hall mess and left the bar, heading to the armory.
Arthur rubbed his forehead and sighed. Thankfully, it seemed that the head of science did not stumble into and wreck his room in his drunken rampage last evening, though he did ruin the toilets when he shamefully stumbled back. As he groaned, a message came through from Varn, querying Arthur about the truth serum they had discussed during Viper's unfortunate accident with the member of the Crimson Sun. He slowly typed a message back.
Hello Varn, To be frightfully honest, I had never quite outlined the complete formula for the serum we discussed, given the dreadful events that came after this plan of action that put the pressing need for a truth tonic on hold. During my few experiments however, I believe that I have created a truth serum effective enough to eke out some information from whatever quarry you've captured. I was... quite busy yesterday, so I might need someone to fill me in on recent events. I'll bring it down to the brig. Meet me there. Dr Beasley
Arthur finished off the message and sent it quickly. Before gathering up the required materials and hurrying down to the brig, he flicked through his communicator and noticed some... strange communication, from last night. Two messages stuck out to him; some communication with an old pen pal by the name of Klepty regarding trade on the black market, and a message in his outbox to Yanim, long since deleted for some particular reason during the night. What the hell had Arthur been doing last night?
Lion turned around to see that Jeremy, Varn and Dwan had arrived. "Good, you're here." He gestured for them to come with him as he walked up to the mobile rack. As he stopped next to he rack he turned around the face his fellow crewmembers. "The mission on Gadon did not only give birth to the Knight Universal Armor System-" He nodded towards the armor racks. "-but also several ideas for weapons to be used in a emergency situation." He gestured towards the rack. "These weapon are some of the most powerful firearms I've ever manufactured, officially they're listed as cleaning equipment in the Archius cargo manifest as it is crucial that the knowledge of their existence remains a secret." He paused to look the three of them in the eye. "You three are the only ones to know about these weapons as you're some of the few that I truly trust with my life. Don't get me wrong, I trust most of the crew however I cannot allow all of the crew to know about these weapons." Lion then turned around to pick up one of the weapons which was fairly long and in black and white colors. "This is the LWA Peacemaker: a five-barrel full-auto kinetic cannon capable of obliterating combatants and vehicles alike. The heavy recoil requires the operator to remain still, otherwise you will break your arms." The gun was truly menacing, aside from the phrase "Peace through superior firepower" inscribed on the receiver, there was also a small Terran peace symbol located on the stock. Lion put the gun back in the rack as he moved on to the next weapon. He picked up what would appear to be a small black box. As Lion clicked on a button, the box turned into what could only be railgun. "LWA Class 5 Railgun: I tested the Class 2 a few weeks ago and decided that it wasn't enough, this is the result. As you saw it can be disguised as a simple shipping box which is very easy to store. The gun itself uses 68 magnetic coils to propel slugs to incredible distances and can penetrate several targets. The immense recoil requires you to lie down during operation, the gun uses a quad bipod for stabilization." He folded back the gun into its original state. "During simulations I shot down five dropships with one shot." Lion put back the black box and picked up a bulky grey gun with the label "Warning! Active nuclear device!" printed on the side. As Lion activated the gun the tiny barrel widened into a hole large enough to fit a human head. Several red lights came to life and started flashing in sequence. "Meet the LWA Endgame; a launcher capable of firing a small nuke. To avoid radiation damage I suggest having proper protection during operation. The gun itself isn't that recoil-heavy, however it only comes with three shots." Lion deactivated the weapon and put it back. He then picked up a white rifle with a disc-shaped device mounted ontop of the gun. "This is the LWA Technical Error; I designed this weapon specifically to counter the Crimson Son incase the crew ever gets surrounded like we did on Gadon. It might look like some kind of weird assault rifle but the truth is that it fires arcs of electricity meant to both overload and siphon enemy cybernetics. Not only will the arcs jump from person to person, it will also fry any cybernetics on their person before the arcs jump back to the gun." He pointed towards the disc. "When the gun is fully charged this disc will discharge a powerful EMP-pulse with a range of roughly three kilometers. While it will knock out all tech, I've installed software in our own weapons and armor that turns off the system untill the wave has passed which should allow us to reboot our systems almost immeadiately and resume figting like normal." He put back the weapon and picked up the fifth and final weapon on the rack. It was in the shape of a black orb with two handles on the side. A subtle hexagonial pattern could be seen on the surface of the orb. "Finally, the LWA Madman's Vision: This is by far the most powerful weapon known in this part of the galaxy. No, I'm not joking with you." Lion then twisted the handles and opened up the orb, letting a extremely bright light. "Had it not been for the built-in shields the three of you alongside half the Archius would have been vaporized just now." He closed up the orb. "I based this weapon on the sphere we recovered on Gadon, the vaporizing part that is, it uses a tiny star- don't ask how I got it- to release immense amounts of energy in one direction. It is worth noting that you should under no circumstances move or try to aim the orb as the energy requires you to stand completely still, unless you want to be vaporized that is." He put back the orb and crossed his arms. "Questions?"
Jeremy was in awe, the amount of credits, design boards, and ideas probably took a long time for these weapons to come to final product. He calmed his temples. "I don't know what to say. I mean we're only a small crew but I actually feel we're a superpower on the playing field of the Galaxy." He resisted trying to grasp one of them, believing he might harm himself without proper protection. For once they might have a chance to take down the Crimson Son after this situation they're dealing with is over. "You believe we could take the Crimson Son Lion, on our own?" Jeremy asked him, staring at one of the weapons.
"No, not on our own. While I'm up for a challenge, fighting the Crimson Son alone would only get us killed. Regardless of how good we are." He locked up the rack which looked like a inconspicious box of cleaning equipment.
"Well in case shit hits the fan and I probably know it will. You're the best specialist I've ever seen." Jeremy smirked, extending his hand. "And I know who to count on when we're facing the odds against us."
Lion smiled. "Hoorah, sir." He shook Jeremy's hand.
Dwan watched as Lion presented each weapon one at a time. The LWA Peacemaker and the LWA Class 5 Railgun looked standard enough, but quite powerful. When Lion pulled out the LWA Endgame and revealed its nuclear power, Dwan got a little nervous, having been to a few universes where nuclear hell is supreme. The LWA Technical Error impressed him immensely, as he began to imagine all of the combat uses for it. But the reveal of the LWA Madman's Vision scared Dwan. It is good that Lion is keeping these weapons hidden, especially the last one, as he believes not one being should have such power. "I...", Dwan said, murmuring something to himself before continuing. "...honestly can't believe this supposed power.", he said. "This is quite kyrios-like, if I may so say myself.", he told Lion.
"Let's hope the Crimson Son feel the same." Said Lion as he made sure that the box was secured. "In any case, it's crucial that few people know about these weapons. All three of you should select a possible candidate to carry on the secret in the future should one of us die."
Varn observed every weapon as lion was presenting them. With each weapon presented his hopes that Lion never enter the arm's manufacturing business increased. "For once, our chances are looking good. As for candidates, I have ideas, but I need to make sure first." He turned to Jeremy "Captain, are we still having that meeting on the bridge? Iska and Yanim's drone are waiting for us to come back to bring everyone up to speed."
