Lion returned to his original stance. "Doesn't matter how many papers you sign and how long you avoid looking me into the face; my sensors can tell when someone's lying." He looked at Dwan and motioned for the door. As they began walking, Lion turned around one last time. "If someone died I'll come after you and you'll have nowhere to hide. That is a promise, not a threat." The duo then left the office. As Lion and Dwan returned to the rover, Uzhaki started up the engine. Lion looked at Dwan. "They were here, no doubt about it."
The AI had integrated itself seamlessly into the armor. The initial clutter on the HUD cleared to reveal a clear picture. Looking at the crew, Varn could receive information of their stress levels and vitals. Must be thanks to the link in the LWA armors. His own vitals appeared in the corner and was in the green. There was also additional information, such as the Arch-angel system coming online with every part of the armor being connected and ready to carry him in case of emergency. Looks like it as working as advertised. Varn tried to get Viper's attention. "Viper, if you don't mind me asking, who were the mercenaries that kept you captive?"
Viper turned it's head to Vran in sudden fashion, getting caught off guard after going deep in thought about the Sanghvi's observations of the Kanad. Nevertheless, Viper turned to face Vran after he was done fitting on his new gear. "I don't, while lacking any icons or markings, their uniforms and equipment however. Was fairly distinctive, my Implant identified it Phoenix Corps issued. That and combined by presence of several biped synth that their officers answered to. " Viper said as it looked over Varn's new equipment. "The logic conclusion is that indeed was an Phoenix Corps unit, seemly working along side with Sanghvi sect I was spying- checking up on. And unfortunately, I got too close to an Sanghvi scout and after dealing with Xeno hunter gang that was, I find myself in their hands." Viper said before finishing it's overlook of Varn's new body armor.
"Phoenix Corps? That's a name I never thought I'd hear again." Varn picked up his signature weapon from the rack. "Whatever those ghosts wanted with you, we'll sort out in the future." He checked it's condition. "Anyways, it's good to have you back, Viper."
Viper proceed to pick itself up from the wall and look over crates in this particular area of the armory. "It doesn't seem like that had a purpose for holding me captive expect for bargaining tool to Jeremy, they motives are unclear for the moment but it looked like there on our side for now against the Crimson Son." Viper said as it scanned through the crates with it's Implant before looking back Varn's armor plating. "It must to be said that Lion was truly unrivaled in his creations, his armor mixture is on par the level of what an entire sect of Sanghvi had developed for this new shell, taking years with a full staff to just compare to what Lion made by himself." Viper said after finishing it's scan over Varn's Knight UAS. "But It's good to be back, Vran. I just regret that I wasn't there for Dawn or Lion...But I'l make sure there deaths are not vain. The SS will reap what their sowed." Viper said as it walked over to the crates to the right of the room.
Auditor Sertum stood in the middle of the command room, operators attended to their business as reports of the Archius XI arised. "Auditor Sertum, we are near the systems ETA 10 Minutes copy." A voice emitted from his helmet. In response he crossed his arms. "Affirmative, prepare your men for battle. I thank you for your services as soldiers of the Crimson Elite. You will be remembered as heroes in the end." Sertum answered. "Godspeed Sir, to be honest I wish there was an alternative. But I will not complain, I've done a service and I'm grateful." The voice sprang a final time. "Your sacrifices will not be forgotten. Over." Sertum ended the channel and stared outside. Mariahlus walked up to him and gave him the recent data collected. "The Archius will be coming shortly." She said staring the same as him. "Soon it will end right?" Mariahlus turned. "That is correct, the Oracle will be retrieved, as you said no more bloodshed after that." He answered to her question, they've been through many operations before but this one she questioned, perhaps it was something too far even for them. Perhaps there are other things on her mind. "I certainly hope so. It is not recent news that certain organizations desire it." Mariahlus admitted. "With all due respect, are we any better than the ones that desire it? I'm aware of our involvement with the object but still." Mariahlus asked freely but Sertum turned to the side. Ever since these 40 days things have become intense throughout, mindless organizations that don't even know their efforts were futile all this time. "I believe that it is impossible to understand one's motive completely. The cycle of conflict will always be there. Sacrifices must be made, but it is important not to waste them into nothingness. We must do what is best for this Galaxy. In the end, perception can be distorted easily. Nobody is better than anybody. We fight for what we believe in and that is what we will do." Sertum said, Mariahlus simply stared at him. "I understand. Thank you for clarifying. I wonder, why pick me as your Second-In-Command." She wondered. "You show potential. I see someone who is passionate. Someone who would like to learn more. That is why I selected you as an Auditor. This will end in due time, we need to be patient." Sertum assured. "I see." Mariahlus said. ... Captain Jeremy saw everyone gathered to the hangar. He ordered everyone to listen up as he wanted to finally speak about the incident. "You're here today because we're here to rescue a friend of the Archius, the Crimson Son have fucked with us to the point we will not tolerate it. For once we're here to finally stop running and avenge our friends that died throughout our journey. We have the tools, we have the men to turn the tide of battle. Lion and Dwan may live on throughout this ship until the very end. Their sacrifices proved that our dedication to doing the right thing will always be our unique virtue. We will not stop until the Crimson Son are gone for good. Their men are soulless beings that kill for the sake of killing. Let's make Harken Saw know that even a small crew can change the universe." Jeremy declared having the entire crew raise their arms with guns in hands. Kira leaned to the wall, looking at Jeremy. She closed her eyes, a tear formed. "Captain sir! You have to take a look at this!" An crew member said through the camera outside of the abandoned planet. Jeremy walked closer as he spotted five no six silhouettes from a very far distance from here. At the very least they zoomed in to see the middle tied up. Jeremy pointed at the nearest crew member. "Prepare the tank, we might need it."
Yanim saluted solemnly to her captain. "Yakka, comrade!" Space was a deep and dark ocean on which the purest hearts and the most infernally damned souls alike were cast into a raging whirlpool, destined from the beginning to one day meet in some unknown place where the weight of all currents deemed appropriate. Yanim had experienced close brushes with destiny before, robbing her of her friends, her senses, and nearly her life. But on this field which so closely resembled her distant and unforgiving home, she could feel her final confrontation with death approaching. She faced it with a hardened heart and eyes brimming with the very fires of hell, reserved for those she was about to meet on that field of battle, teeth bared, hands unshaking, a rifle like a quiver of lightning bolts and a bladed tail which glowed with the burning essence of her killing desire. She did not fear death; she had come clothed in it. --- [And so know the ones who bear against the flood, for in righteous struggle blood begets blood, and for their wanton actions kings and fools alike will be swiftly cast down, their heads upon the pike.]
"Yes captain!" Varn saluted Jeremy and began preparing the Jägermeister. "Gabriel, activation code Sierra Hotel India Echo Lima Delta." The tank's engine roared to life. It had already seen action during the StateSec ambush, but that was just a small taste of what it could actually do. "It's a two man vehicle, so I'll need someone else inside the tank to make sure it will operate efficiently. Other than that, Jägermeister is ready to roll out." Varn looked at the crew "Any volunteers?"
"Affirmative, Captain Spacehawk." Viper said as it forward to him, meeting with him eye to eye. Correcting it's posture upright as it stood in front of him, arms behind it's back and head lowered to his eye level. "Sir, we Hard-Silicate act and speak much of what we feel though actions but let it be said that you have done what no other captain I have seen within nine years of continued service in one of the most largest peacekeeping organizations in the galaxy has done." Viper said to Jeremy before taking a moment to adjust its stance further upright. "Your bravery and determination is one in a million in a galaxy that has shown the worst it has to offer and yet, you push on regardless. You have accomplish some of the most difficult and hellish task that the galaxy has thrown at you." Viper head looked at the hard steel floor of the hanger for moment before continuing. "Most men would have given up or would have been broken by the weight of responsibility that lays upon your shoulders, but it despite it all. You have done it all to protect your crew and ensure that they, not yourself, not whatever nonsensical dreams that Harken Saw have, but the ones that you risked your life over time and time, have survived." Viper then brings up it's head and looks down to Jeremy's eyes. "It's been an honor to serve under you Captain Spacehawk, I, and everyone onboard this vessel will serve under you sir to complete our mission to end this blight that has infested and weaken the galaxy as a whole." Viper ended it's speech with an terran salute to him. After it's speech, the Sanghvi walked across the hanger towards the Talon, preparing the ship remotely though it's implant as well as adjusting it's intersystems, controlling it's autoloaders as they put each 50mm HEDP missile, Optimized fission energy canister and 35mm depleted uranium round into the Talon's ammunition storage. However, the most interesting addition that Viper adden was one inclusion of one of Lion's finest works. When Viper was down at the armory, The Sanghvi detected an fairly unique piece of equipment, a class 5 rail gun disgusted as black ammunition clase. It's existence was unknown even within the deepest archives in the Archius XI's data banks. Despite this, Viper took the weapon up to the hanger as whatever the Crimson son would throw at them, Viper wanted to make sure they were on an even playing field. The Sanghvi had the hanger drones installed it onto the Talon to replaced the Plasma repeater and had to redirect the ship's power system to accommodate it, modifying further to be capable of releasing a volley of depleted uranium slugs if need be and an automatic reloading system to improve its rate of fire to rather slow but workable level along with calibrating it to use 35mm anti-hull slugs instead of the standard infantry level 10mm ones, this was balanced by removing the level IV warheads on each on it's wings mounts and placing a lighter burst Laser Mk II's on each side to help aim the powerful railgun, lighter Swarm missile systems were moved behind the cockpit, towards the middle of craft to replace the larger and slower Pegasus systems to help reduce weight . The Talon roared to life as Viper climbed into its cockpit, all systems flashed online within seconds. The Uplink was established and cold, metal interceptor and the Sanghvi pilot were one as the ship readied itself and fired its engines. "Commander, All weapons systems are primed and fully loaded, defensive countermeasures are on the standby, Shields are at 100%, Engines and thrusters are completely stabilized. The Talon is fully online and I'm awaiting for your command, Over." Viper said over the intercom to Jeremy.
"Be on stand by for now, I'm going out there. Actually." Jeremy turned. "Do what you think is necessary when I'm out there. I'm bringing Zarbon and Kira for this." Jeremy stated, ensuring the enforcer can be ready while Kira redundantly did so. All three opened the ramp, zooming in to still see the six figures from the far distance. ... Sertum stared at the Archius ship opening its ramp. He stood as well as his other four comrades. Bubal was tied up, wearing a mouth piece that silenced his vocals. Folter and Mariahlus were at best oblivious to what Sertum had in mind. He crossed his arms, waiting.
Iska emerged from the workshop with a crude ionic shield that she had hastily put together. She was wearing her heaviest armor and carried alot of extra ammo for the LWA-I. As she walked towards the gathered crowd she saw the crimson son standing in the distance. With a muffled growl she started walking towards them but Yanim put her tail in her way. Looking down on her, she shook her head. Iska stepped back into line.
[Fucking Sangvhi magic finding hidden weapons and shit that are only known to four members and not mentioned in any of the databanks. :v: In any case, give 'em hell boys & girls.] After paying Uzhaki another two hundred credits, the young khergian had waved them off at the platform as Lion & Dwan flew away in the Ranger. The two of them had agreed to return to the crew seeing as the Crimson Son can't be far behind, judging by the indirect info that Arenax had given them. Using the encrypted HarkArk channels that were connected to the Archius, Lion had plotted a course to their current position. Lion was currently running one last inventory of both personal items as well as checking ammo on all the ship's weapons. He had asked Dwan to do a quick check on the roof turret as the extra firepower could surely be useful. He looked up from the inventory datapad. "How's the turret doing, Dwan?" "Everything seems to be alright, from what I can tell atleast.", Dwan said in an unsure tone. Lion chuckled. "If the console comes on and if the turret moves then it should be fine." Lion looked over to a small pile of weapons brought along by both Lion and Dwan. "You can come down from there now if you want." Dwan came down. Dwan sighed for a second. "So.... how long is it going to take us to get to the others?", he asked Lion in an unenthusiastic tone. "If they hold their current location then it'll take about an hour. Hopefully the crimson bastards aren't there yet." Lion looked down at his Reed AR which he just finished polishing. He slowly looked up at Dwan. "Dwan, can I ask you for a favor?" "What kind of favor?", Dwan responded. Lion folded the AR and put it into his lap. "If anything goes south these coming days, as in really bad, I want you to deliver this." He pasued and presented a small circular holoprojector the size of thumbnail. "Give this to Valerie, she'll know what to do with it." Dwan looked at the object. "Understood.", he said as he grabbed it from Lion's hands, pocketing it. Lion smiled and nodded. "Thanks Dwan, I appreciate it. I appreciate everything you've helped me out with, I can't honestly ask for a better friend." He resumed polishing the weapons, this time the mighty Peacemaker. "Anything you want to talk about while we're at it?" "First off, when we're about half an hour away from our destination, I should probably return to my pad and get battle-ready. You know, left all my combat gear there.", Dwan told Lion. "But besides that, the only thing we could talk about is......", Dwan paused for a second, thinking of something. "......ourselves. For how long we've worked together, aside from a few things, we don't really know much about each other. Heck, I know more about you than you do about me.", Dwan concluded. Lion nodded. "How many worlds have you been to? And have you ever had anyone else who you were real close with?" Asked Lion. Dwan was a little surprised by the first question. Dwan shook his head a little. "No clue. When you spend effectively most of your life travelling from universe to universe, you eventually lose track.", Dwan responded. As he thought about the second question, Dwan blanked out for a moment, before shaking his head. "Y-yeah, there was one guy...", Dwan said in a slightly somber tone. Lion looked down. "I see, if you don't want to talk about that's fine."
[Fucking Sangvhi magic finding hidden weapons and shit that are only known to four members and not mentioned in any of the databanks. :v: In any case, give 'em hell boys & girls.]
[I was planing on Viper finding several unusual crates, areas, etc within the armory and then having Viper asking Varn about them, assuming since Viper is his superior he would spill the beans to her , but it doesn't really matter at the moment. ] "Affirmative." Viper responded to Jeremy over the Archius's private commutation channel. "I'll be watching your exchange though your's and Zarbon's helmet video feed along with each one of your vitals though my implant." Viper said while establishing and solidifying the connection. Flashbacks of war went through the Sanghvi's mind, Viper was no stranger to losing fellow soldiers in the line of duty. The last squadron that Viper served in UGC flashed in Viper's mind. The seams and cries of comrades burning within their fighters as they were dragged into an planet's orbit, the rush of repairing an shield power system as it's the maintenance officers threw themselves onto the fires in hopes of buying the rest of the crew a little more time to extinguish the roaring flames spreading throughout ship, brothers fighting one another to grab the last of the oxygen masks as there pulled into space from the airlock's blast doors slowly opened. The footage of Lion and Dwan's demise aboard an innocent station with countless civilians meeting their collective fate from an corrupted and xenophobic organization that Viper has indirectly aided in the past was the hardest one for the Sanghvi to gasp but Viper carried on as the crew was counting on their Chief Enforcer. Viper was able to quickly get control of itself and resumed its watchfully eyes on the Crimson Son that laid before them, ready to react any second now, completely focused on the status of every member of the crew as dranger could strike any moment now. "Sir....Don't do anything stupid, this conflict has enough dead heroes." Viper said over the com with an tone of concern it's voice as the hanger bay door lowed to reveal the Crimson Son figures standing ahead of him and his crew.
Jeremy tapped in to the communications line, "Make sure this line is secured, I'll be sure everyone can hear on the conversation. Eyes open." Jeremy insisted on anyone that was near. Kira stood beside him as they walked forward. "Know anyone of these guys?" Jeremy asked. "No, they all look the same. Except for the cloaks, if I had to guess, elite." Kira answered, checking her surroundings for any unusual sightings. Nothing. The figures became more clearer when they moved up, watching Bubal from afar. The five armored men were intimidating enough to make pirates scream in fear, but he wasn't afraid. All three kept their distance and stopped as the two sides stared straight. Jeremy kept a straight face, narrowing his eyes to see Bubal. He finally faced the man behind him. "We're here. Just what you wanted right?" He asked to Sertum. Sertum turned to Bubal, then straight to the Captain, straightening his posture. "Yes." Sertum responded as monotone as he could be. "I ask you one small request, give us our ally back." Jeremy demanded, Kira almost felt like she might be sick just from a demand like that from the Crimson Son of all people. If anything Jeremy had brass balls the size of Terra right now. The silent motion between the two gave her faded goosebumps. "Of course." Jeremy immediately widened his eyes at the 8 ft tall person. You can't be serious, but there's some catch right? Jeremy's mind was spiraling out of control as Sertum grabbed Bubal off the floor, pulling him up. Sertum turned to Bubal and stared. "You are of no use no longer, leave." Sertum instructed, receiving a frustrated Bubal wanting to do something, but basic instinct told him not to. He saw three of the Archius, nodding them in appreciation. He jogged to the Archius for safety. Everyone except the Auditors were left speechless.
Varn was observing the transaction with binoculars. He could feel the tension from where he was standing. He didn't notice that he was thinking out loud "Wait, is that the mercenary from the bug hunt? Why would the Crimson Son capture him? And why are they just handing him over so easy? I don't like this." He had a feeling that the trap was gonna spring any moment, only this time, the crew will be ready.
Viper was thrown off by what it was seeing through Zarbon and Jeremy's video feed. Unsure of how this transaction will go, maybe it will end pacefully or are they just playing with us? Trying to let our guard down and stab us once our backs are turned? Viper thought about these possibilities as they released their prisoner out of their custody for an moment before turning it's full attention back to the situation at hand as this exchange could still very ugly, very quickly.
"Why." Jeremy muttered. His breathing became very apparent as he looked over Bubal. "What reason do you have to capture him?" Jeremy asked. Sertum didn't answered, neither did all of them. "To end this mindless scavenger hunt Captain. We've watched you ever since the beginning, Gadon, Duroma, Hanza Farms." Sertum responded. His voice echoed through his ears. Jeremy narrowed his eyebrows. "Not exactly surprising, everyone has been tracking us down since the beginning. Including you." "Exactly why the hunt for the Oracle must end. This trail of destruction has left a mark among everyone. Your entire presence has affected civilized places." Sertum explained. "Perhaps, but we at least help out the innocent that get caught in the cross fire." Jeremy reasoned. "Despite your noble intentions, the results are less than fortunate." Jeremy knew what he was talking about: the Massacre at Picaea. The attempt to defuse the bomb on Hanza. All failures to ensure innocent lives weren't harmed only to make things worse in the end. "You're not any better, not at all. You attempted to murder us at Gadon." "You are an envoy of Harken Saw. HarkArk has made us desperate and for that challenge we will not tolerate. However, ever since the day the Archius has launched, we have realized that you have your own depths, that is why we are here in the first place." Sertum explained. He was speaking nonsense at this point, Jeremy sighed and turned to Kira. Kira made sure there was no slick moves coming out of the wazoo. "What exactly do you want from us?" Jeremy finally asked him. Sertum nodded, looking back at the opened hangar to see a crowd of workmen, keeping watch from the scenery unfolding. He turned to Jeremy. "We ask you to discontinue working for HarkArk. The path you are taking as of now is not a future you will like. People will continue to die, the bloodshed will progress until you stop as groups will hunt you down wherever you go." Sertum imprinted into Jeremy's train of thought. He gritted his teeth, clenching his hand into a fist. "And what if we don't?" Jeremy questioned. "You will be declared as enemies."
Dwan sighed for a moment following Lion's response. He then looked up to him. "What did you do in the early parts of your life?", he asked Lion. "Childhood, you know?", he added. Lion leaned back and got a nostalgic look on his face. "Born into the military more or less. I had the luxury of staying at a single base throughout my childhood but there was still a lot of traveling.", he said. He looked at Dwan. "My grandfather served in the Third World War. Stubborn old fool who was even more stubborn as a younger man. When it looked like one of the battles could've ended all the involved sides simultaneously he threw down his gun. So did everyone else. We were sick of fighting. Then my father was born, he became a soldier too. Peacekeeper. Helped to rebuild and safeguard Terra for the new generations. As he became a officer, we went to all parts of the world. Peace meetings, memorials, celebrations.", he said smiling. "The launch of the first commercial colony shuttle to Mars.", he recalled. "That's fascinating.", Dwan said with a smile. "So, you stayed in the military throughout your entire life?", he asked. Lion chuckled. "Yeah, my grandfather retired after serving for thirty five years. While my father retired after thirty. Both went to an old family estate located on Terra, it's a part of very small and friendly community that had been untouched by all the wars it seems.", he said. He looked at Dwan. "How about you Dwan? What did you do in your early days? What's the story with your family?", he asked. Dwan chuckled. "My early days were spent traveling the omniverse with my parents. As I told you before, my mother wanted me to open-minded, acceptant and all that jazz. At some point, she started helping me figure out my caldic powers, as I am a unique being of sorts.", he stated. "The story of my family is a bit.... complicated, especially my parents. I'm 4/16ths Demon, 1/16ths Human and 11/16ths Dwarf because of them.", he told Lion with a self-depreciative chuckle. Lion chuckled. "Quite the genetics then. Your mother sounds kind, a bit like my old mother actually. The most valuable lesson she taught me was to treat everyone equal and with respect. She said it'd do well out in the world and I can't agree more.", he said. "What about your father?", asked Lion as he started tinkering with a small welder. "Father? Well, he has had an exciting life so far.", he stated. "Because of the actions of my great-grandfather Burosh, he received a small home from a foreign Human lord south of our traditional homelands. As he didn't want to move, he gave the estate to his son, also called Burosh, who had recently gotten married. Moving down south, he ended up having my father. At a young age, my father was kidnapped by a demon who planned to do something evil to him. As Gramps got sick, he asked for Great Gramps to help. He accepted his son's call for help and, with the help of a mage called Goleo Seeks and his staff Pille, got on the right path to rescue my dad. The two split at some point, though. Eventually, the old man confronted the demon, only to find that she had been taking care of my dad because he was giving her positive feedback. Apparently, she was a generic demon and only kidnapped my dad to prove herself to the other demons. The old man tried to reason to the demon to convince her to give my dad up, but nope, she didn't want to give him up. A short fight happened and the demon was almost defeated, but she had a trick up her sleeve. She opened up a portal in the omniverse and prepared to jump into it with my father in her hands, but a big bonk to the head from the old man caused her to let go of him during the teleport. This caused a chain reaction that lead to the entire place blowing up, presumably killing the old guy.", Dwan said in a sort of historian tone. Lion had a puzzled expression to his metal face. "I see, sorry to hear that.", he said, as he put down the welder. "You know, if there's anything you want me to do incase, you know, just tell me.", said Lion, referring to what could be a dangerous situation involving the crew. "I'll have to tell you the rest of my father's story eventually. What I just told you was the beginning.", Dwan said with a chuckle, before returning to a neutral expression. "How close are we?", he asked. "I see us as very close, like I've said before there's very few people in this galaxy that I trust my life with.", Lion said, giving Dwan a quick smile. "Of which currently one is sitting right infront of me.", he told him. Dwan smiled back. Dwan shoved his hand in his pocket, looking for something. Finding it, he pulled his hand out and presented Lion a blue crystalline coin. Flipping the coin to the other side, it had Ancient Greek written on it, stating that "The one who solves this riddle will speak with the coin's owner.". "I want you to have this.", Dwan said. "May I?", asked Lion as he carefully took the coin and placed it in his palm. A small scanner deployed from Lion's head and emitted a blue beam of light that shined on the coin. "Fascinating, unknown material.", he said. He looked at Dwan. "What's the riddle?", he asked. "That's the riddle.", Dwan responded to the beat. Lion smiled. "Always fun with a challenge. Thanks Dwan.", he said, as he opened up one of his thighs and slid down the coin into a small compartment next to the various photos he kept on him. Just as he was about to open his mouth, a beep could be heard from the cockpit. "I guess we're finally here.", he stated. "May I just hop back to my place to get ready?", Dwan asked. Lion nodded as he rose up. "I can slow us down. You have ten minutes." Lion quickly packed up his guns before beginning to walk towards the cockpit. Dwan nodded as he opened a portal and returned to his place. He took off the clothes he was wearing and grabbed the undersuit, which he put on. He then put on his armor before putting on all of his weapons. He then opened another portal and returned to the ship. "Ready.", Dwan said, suited and weaponized. Lion, sitting in the pilot seat nodded. he pointed to the co-pilot's seat. "Sit down, we don't know what to expect.", he told him. Dwan complied and sat down.
Jeremy shook his head, thinking of the options before him. They've progressed so much. To deliver the pieces of the Oracle to Harken Saw only to discontinue would make every death so far be in vain. "All this work, just to quit. Then what good have we've done, I'll be damned if I let all those lives lost so far be in vain." Jeremy said to him. "Do you insist on letting more people die?" Sertum questioned. "This Oracle has caused trouble since the very beginning! As long as its still around people will continue to search for it. We're doing the best we can to prevent it from falling into the wrong hands like you!" Jeremy said as he pointed. Sertum went silent, staying motionless as Jeremy finished his words of wisdom. The Auditor straightened his posture. "Then I ask you one thing. What does Harken Saw intend to do with it?" Sertum asked. The subject was entirely avoided ever since they delivered the orb. They never really talked about Harken Saw's motives for this object of infinite power. In fact, he never told them at all. Jeremy couldn't answer his question even if he tried. "What does the Crimson Son intend to do with it?" Jeremy asked instead. "It belongs to us." Sertum answered, receiving a scoff from the Captain. "And then what? Control the Galaxy within? You've tried to kill us, you hired mercs to kill us. You use people as proxies to get what you want only to dispose of them in the end!" Jeremy called out. "You don't see the big picture do you?" Sertum asked. "I see the big picture alright, I see a syndicate wanting to abuse the Oracle for its own dirty ends. Regardless whether we stop, you will eliminate us no matter what." Jeremy said, looking back at all the things. They will continue to find the pieces of the Oracle because people like the Crimson Son will always use it for other uses. Sertum stood silently. "It is no use then, I am disappointed to say the least. I am forced to use all means necessary to keep you away." Sertum admitted. He finally moved, slowly reaching for his sword only to activate it. Jeremy widened his eyes as well as Kira. Both pulled out their weapons and alerted their teams. "ALERT! WE GOT HOSTILES!" Jeremy yelled through the communications line. Zarbon grinned and was about to unleash hell on the man using energy from his hands. He extended about to shoot until Sertum's sword activated, slicing his arm. Zarbon yelled in pain and got his head swiped off. Folter caught the head within his reach, showing it to everyone on the battlefield. Sertum stomped on the ground, allowing the entire area to shake. Jeremy was shocked. "You bastard..." Jeremy muttered. "Jeremy move out!" Kira yelled through his thick skull. "You've made your choice, run away while you still can." Sertum said moving forward slowly. The rest scattered, cloaking.
Iska saw Zarbons head fly off and immediately activated her shield as she saw the rest scatter while cloaking. She held her LMG up with on arm and the shield with the other, slowly moving down the ramp. She looked back at Yanim and gestured with her head to stay behind her. "Yanim, you point and Iska shoot" she said, turning her head to scan the area.
Varn clenched his hand in a fist. "Lemmy! Get in the tank. I'll drive and shoot the main gun, you're on shock cannon duty. I want you covering the captain and the major 5 minutes ago." He moved the tank forward and aimed the main gun at Sertum. "Let's see how you like a shot to the face motherfucker." A loud boom echoed as the tank fired.
With a bang the Ranger entered the seemingly calm system. It cloaked almost immeadiately. Lion looked at Dwan. "Got a positive signature on the Archius, looks like they've landed on the planet." As Lion finished, one of the screens flickered and showed a zoomed in image of the landing site and what would appear to be a skirmish. "You don't think?", Dwan asked Lion Lion frowned. "Looks like we'll go in hot, go and hop into the top turret. We're gonna need the extra railguns." Said Lion as he began steering the Ranger towards the planet. "Alright.", Dwan said as he got off the co-pilot's seat and rushed onto the top turret. "Hang on!" Said Lion as the engine boosters came to life. As the two sides began battling on the ground, a faint sound was heard in the distance. As each second passed, the sound became louder and more clear untill suddenly a black vessel armed to teeth appeared on the horizon. "Weapons free!" Yelled Lion over the Ranger comms. The ship deployed a multitude of rotary cannons and missile pods which all began firing on the Crimson Son positions. [Please keep in mind guys that none of you know that Lion & Dwan are alive.]
As Lion fired at the Crimson Son, Dwan fired with the top turret.
face motherfucker." A loud boom echoed as the tank fired.
Mini Roll Critical Failure: [1] Sertum caught his eye on the SDF tank advancing to front, Jeremy and Kira shot back as they moved behind the tank. The tank unleashed a deveasting blast towards the tyrant. Sertum was quick to react however, side stepping the blast as he sprinted to the tank, jumping on top as he slashed the main gun in a vertical swipe. Cutting it in half. He disappeared out of thin air. A few crew members scanned the area until Folter entered in the mix, "Shit!" A member said as he fired at the psycho. Folter kicked him into the ground as he punctured the man's chest.
As the two sides began battling on the ground, a faint sound was heard in the distance. They spotted Folter killing one of their own. He chuckled in anticipation for a aerial challenge. He barely dodged the incoming firepower from the cannons "Mariahlus we have company!" Folter said through the comm as he went to cover. Mariahlus was on top of a decepit building seeing the Ranger in the horizon. "Yes I can see that Folter, you don't need to remind me."
As Lion fired at the Crimson Son, Dwan fired with the top turret.
Mini Roll[9]: Dwan spotted Mariahlus at the top of the building, he fired with all the hellfire. Mariahlus sprinted at top speed the reaction of a mockingbird. [NEGATED] Dwan and Lion could feel a very slight distraction from another Auditor named Zane, firing at the Ranger using a modified heavy launcher from his back. The long ranged weapon was very impressive if it could shoot from such distance. "Thank you Zane, I'll handle this." Mariahlus prepared to launch her jet boosters, thrusting herself into the Ranger's hull. She held on to the ship like a champ.
Dwan continued to fire with the top turret, aiming at any close-by Crimson Sons.
Advancing with Iska, Yanim remembered her previous fights and put all notions of trickery behind her. The Crimson Son were fast and deadly, and they wouldn't fall for dumb tricks. She grabbed hold of the LMG just as Iska had asked her to, using the claw of her tail to aim it, while looking down the optics package of the YSV-82. She sighted the cloaked figures via their footprints in the snow and guided the LMG toward the target until it was in effective range. "Fire, Sekadera, fire!"
Varn got out of his seat and opened the hatch. Looking around he noticed the nearest Cromson son. He took aim and fired.
Viper flashed to action, first feeling the sense of shock after seeing the death of Zarbon though his own eyes but quickly rushing to action a second later. The Sanghvi ignited the engines of the Talon, filling the hangar with smoke and dust as the Talon's thrusters blasted into sky, spreading a wave of smoke and chaff shells to shield itself as it climbed at nearly 20,000 ft in the air before driving back down on the Crimson son's positions. The Talon weapon system turned green as the fighter unleash an concentrated and accurate salvo of plasma lasers at the large Crimson son member that managed to murder one of the crew in a cold blood. However, Viper noticed an unidentified star fighter had finished firing at other Crimson son positions had entered the mix and moved the Talon to intercept it. Viper only gave one warring to this wild card as the Talon locked its weapons on its engines behind the craft. Linking into coms and hailing it in seconds, the Sanghvi felt the upcoming urge to blast this foreign fighter out of the sky as it took valuable seconds away from fighting and was very second was another casualty. "Identified yourself, Now."
Lion looked at the proximity alarm which activated as someone clamped onto the ship. "Oh no you don't." He pressed a button which encased the entire ship in a shockwave shield meant to remove any foreign objects or people on the exterior. "Identified yourself, Now." Lion shook his head as he opened up the comms. "We're friendly, don't shoot!" Said Lion in a heavily distorted voice.
