[For a second I thought this adventure took a weird direction]
"Yanim raises a good point. I've been trained in squad and escort tactics so I can defend someone along the flank, but Id prefer they have longer range weapons. Maybe pair the doctor with the captain?"
Iska moved besides Varn swaying her Lmg and tapping him on the shoulder. "Long range not needed if use enough bullets" she said, flicking a switch which begun spinning up the cooling fan in the LMG.
Iska looked down on Varn with a smug smile. "You want big game hunt, you get big game hunt" She proclaimed with a chuckle.
"I can actually help you with the flank defenses." Said Lion before picking up a rather large disc-shaped object from one of the cargo pods.
"This is a mobile sentry, I brought along three of these bad boys." With the click of a button a small repulsor engine activated, making the disc hover slightly. A small gun was deployed at the top, accompanied by a laser sight.
"These could help Varn by taking point as well, surpressing any hostiles which would allow the rest of us to finish off the hostiles before they get too closed. Only problem is overheating tho, so we gotta keep an eye on that."
As Jeremy walked out of the ship, he started to put his Armor on.
Once he was done, he was next to Lion watching him build a crane.
Curious, Jeremy asked why.
"Why are you building a Crane?"
((If the mission goes according to plans, should Iska invest in some new gear?

Lion stared at Jeremy.
"Would you rather jump into the sinkhole or rappel down?"
Lion stared at Jeremy.
"Would you rather jump into the sinkhole or rappel down?"
"Rappel..." Jeremy said.
"Iska, you remind me of my ex. Only difference is that the only time you were ready to kill me, you did it out of confusion and it was only once." Varn chuckled.
He proceeded to light a flair and drop it down the sinkhole to see how deep it goes. After a few seconds he turned around to the team and said:
"Yep, its a big hole."
Lion approached Varn with the cable and strapped on a small harness on his upper body. He pulled in it to make sure it was secure. He then handed over a small pack of chem-lights.
"When you're on your way down, make sure to break and toss some of these unless you wanna go in blind. They're strong enough to provide some lighting yet weak enough to not mess with night or thermal-vision."
Lion patted him on the shoulder. "I'll go down right behind you."
Iska turned to Lion, "will cable be strong enough for Iska to climb down with?" she asked. "Varn and Iska can form bulkhead at bottom, make safe spot for rest of crew". Iska analyzed the cable with an engineers estimate, it looked sturdy enough but asking about it seemed like a reasonable thing to do.
Lion measured Iska before nodding. "It will hold, but incase it doesn't..."
He dpeloyed a second and a third cable which he hooked up to the small crane mount. He then pulled out some weights which he then put on the crane base, hoping to weight it down even more.
"Good job, friend" Iska exlaimed, connecting the cable to her belt and began rappeling down after Varn.
Varn descended down the hole. To his surprise the walls weren't covered in strange goo like previous bug nests he's visited. "Must be the cold." Halfway down he lid a chemical light, observing the walls, he didn't notice anything out of the ordinary "I don't like the this, its too quiet" he thought.
Once at the bottom, he crouched down on one knee and aimed down the caves.
"Everything seems calm. Stay sharp."
"Hold it!" Perra exclaimed out of nowhere along with her crew. The Archius Crew stopped dead in their tracks when they were just about to rappel down. "What did I just say? I said I knew how to get down there. By the time you rappel down there those Screechers are gonna mow you down like grass. That's why it's called the 'first wave'" Perra sighed, seeing the heavy bag Bubal held with his large arms of strength.
"First wave is always the deadliest. They'll know you're coming down and will no less spit at you. Look I know a way, few are probably gonna know this trick." She said as Bubal threw down the heavy bag.
She unzipped the bag, revealing a recently killed Screecher. "Screechers main sense are smell and sound. Smell sense is like an identification card. Friend or Foe, how is that going to help us down? Well." She pulled out a dagger, stabbing the thing as she cut horizontally.
"Their own smell will keep someone who's covered in it safe for awhile at least. I learned this when Wazowski shot a bug dead center and got covered in it." "Speaking about smell, Wazowski, you're still our volunteer."
"What?! Fuck that captain, I've done this before send someone else!" He shouted. Perra stared straight at him and walked towards him. "My orders Wazowski, you're going."
...
Wazowski was covered in Screecher muck, he cringes at another trip to Screecher Caves. "Alright, you're set. Oh yeah we're going to bait them out of the hole, so you might have to set some charges Wazowski." Perra said as Bubal brought him some micro thermal charges in a satchel, usually they were wireless. "The detonator should be in the satchel along with the bombs." Perra winked at her crewmate delightfully.
"Detonator? Aren't these things triggered by holo band?" Wazowski sounded pretty sure.
"Well not these, your best bet is to place them about far enough to get some Screechers attention by using the charges. That will trigger the first wave and you guys better pack some serious firepower. Once you set them up come back to us Wazowski." She instructed.
"I guess so." He grabbed down and started to go in the deep dark hole. At least he brought some light with him. "You can't be serious, how are you going to put him there without backup?!" Jeremy called out to Perra from the side, she got irritated and rolled her eyes. "He'll be fine..."
The holo band beeped up as Wazowski called, in the cave where he's seeing a dozen Screechers patrolling. "Captain, I'm inside, shit there's a shit load of them around. The muck's doing okay for me."
"Good good, right now talk to Bubal, I need to do something in the truck." Perra responded, nodding towards Bubal to take comm with Wazowski for now. Perra walked towards one of her homkahs, going inside to make sure things were set in case the first wave suddenly started.
A minute later, Wazowski was nearly finished at setting up charges, he raised his arm to call Bubal.
"Bubal, I'm done setting up the charges. I should be back in a min; by the way where the fuck is-
Static grew as Wazowski's signal shut off. Bubal acted in surprise. A full on explosive spawned inside the cave. Everyone felt the floor shake, they were coming.
"Wazowski!" Bubal yelled, he picked up his plasma shotgun and cocked it in preparation. He turned to see the Archius crew "You all, drive dropship gun all down. We'll handle bugs too!"
Tl;dr: Combat mode time!
[Oops, guess we got a bit ahead of ourselves. Sorry doomevil]
[It's cool. Nvm, I'll think of something.]
Iska reached Varn down at the bottom of the hole and also went down on one knee, aiming in the opposite direction of Varn. They stood silently for a while until Iska had to ask a question."Is rest of crew coming or what?" she uttered with an annoyed tone. She didn't have time to get an answer before an explosion rocked the ground and the tunnel system. After the dustflakes had fallen from the roof and everything had gone quiet, multiple screeches were heard somewhere deep in the nest. Iska looked up through hole they had entered through and whispered to herself "[I guess there was a change of plans]". She then shuffeled over to Varn and whispered "Iska hope you are tough, this ride will get wild." She aimed jorvu down her end of the corridor while waiting for Varn to respond.
[editline]6th April 2015[/editline]
[No probs, doom. We rushed in and now we'll have to sort it out ourselves :v:]
"Lady, the wild part hasn't even started yet." Varn took position and was prepared to shoot the first bug that was in range.
As Varn and Iska took up positions in the hole, the three hover-sentries descended and took up positions longside them. Their tiny plasma repeaters were rotating silently while small searchlights were scanning the surrounding area.
With a thud sound, Lion hit the bottom of the sinkhole. "Area clear." He reported back before dropping a large case.
He opened up the case, revealing spare ammo, some of Arthurs Wildfire-vials and dozens of chemlights and grenades. He tossed out some of the chemlights with robotic precision before handing out some additional Wildfire vials.
He then brought out his SMG from his rear storage unit, alongside what appeared to be a loose barrel. With a click the barrel was mounted, turning the SMG into a assault rifle.
"Stay alert."
Darkness grew and only the sounds of a Screecher came forward, no, dozens. Their numbers were uncountable. Perra got out of her Homkah truck and heard the explosion inside the sink hole. "Son of a, it's go time fuckers!" Perra yelled wielding a large assault rifle. The first Screecher that volunteered for a kill by attempting to gnaw at a close person
Lion quickly dispatched the creature before shooting at another one, hoping to pierce his targets with AP-rounds.
Varn tosses an incendiary grenade at a group of screechers and shoots another with the Boom box.
As the ground shook and rumble, Viper took out the machine rifle holstered on the Sanghvi's back. Aiming at the oncoming horde of crawling monsters. Letting out several volleys of ammunition at the closest Screecher.
Ready for combat, Dwan, with his goggles down, pulls the artillery section of Aeducan's Blazing Howitzer onto his left shoulder and activates it. As it is set on fire mode, flames start to come out of the artillery, just like a flamethrower. He grabs his modified Bellevue Ancaria revolver with his free right hand and, as he is throwing flames, he aims with his revolver at the screechers.

Mini-Roll[9] The Senior Enforcer quickly pulled out his weapon from his storage compartment, blowing Screechers away one by one by AP rounds tore them apart.

Mini-Roll[5] Varn pulls out an incendiary grenade and throws the object like a hot flaming molotov
towards the pack. The grenade combusted in a fiery of rage but for some reason didn't really deal as much damage as Varn thought it did as Perra stated, what was going on? Varn used his boom box to shoot a Screecher from the front, hitting it but that only pissed it off more.

Mini-Roll[5]: Viper set out the closest Screecher trying to claw him. He fired wildly at the creature, the Screecher rolled on its back from the force, attempting to roll back up. A set of Screechers were crawling towards Viper.

Mini-Roll[7]: Dwan used his set of weapons at his disposal and raged war with the Screechers, the scorching flames after some multiple uses finally killed some, he used his revolver to one off a Screecher coming towards him.
"O-oh god! F-focus... Focus..." Arthur said to himself over and over again, while whipping his crossbow out and loading a few arrows into it. He lifted it up, took aim at the Screechers crawling towards Viper, and fired at a couple.
"Oh, you don't like plasma huh? Too bad, here comes seconds!" Varn shoots the screecher charging him, aiming for the head.
After Jeremy finished rapelling down, he aimed his Gun at some Screechers and fired, hoping to kill some.

Mini-Roll Critical Success[10]: As Arthur said to himself to focus and looked where he wanted to go he fired his arrows towards the group of Screechers and killed them instantly. Focusing does pay off eh?
"Oh, you don't like plasma huh? Too bad, here comes seconds!" Varn shoots the screecher charging him, aiming for the head.
Mini-Roll Critical Failure[1]: Varn aim towards the screecher failed miserably, he fired a few shots but missed. The amount of Screechers were coming closer and closer and increasingly bad. He might want to ask for help.

Mini-Roll[8]: Jeremy proceeded to kill as much bugs as he could, his determination on finishing the mission has gave him the advantage.
After killing the Screechers infront of him, he saw Varn was in trouble and decided to give him a hand.
He aimed at each Screecher and shot them in the head.
