"Clearly that's not the case when an explosion went off." She said. "You should have killed that soldier before he could have done any more damage."
"I'm aware of that but due to the precautions in place we didn't expect something with 70% of its body missing to wake up and blow himself up. Now if you excuse me, I have a crew to attend to. You're welcome to join me as I assume that you wish to speak with the captain."
After hearing Major Greene's intentions, Arthur became indignant and put his hand on her shoulder. "I er... I appreciate the help darling, but I think you'll find that this is my ship, and that my team will be leading this effort to save my teammate. Your medics are more than welcome to assist mine, however." The head scientist falsely smiled to Kira.
Lion looked at the rescue effort inside the medbay. His gaze went over the fire and his mind wandered off. "Thirty seconds!" Yelled the pilot. The sergeant turned around and walked up to the rear of the small compartment. "Alright boys and girls, you know the drill. Visors down and weapons powered, these Divine assholes ain't gonna give up that easy." His visor came down. The soldiers followed and folded down their helmet visors before powering up their carbines. The sergeant pointed towards the ramp. "As soon as that ramp goes down you leg it straight to cover! Understood?" "Yes Sarge!" yelled the soldiers in unison. A flak round shook the dropship. Leon turned to his left and saw Reed clinging to his rifle. "Reed, you good?" Reed turned to Leon and gave him a nervous smile through the untinted visor. "I'll tell you what Reed, if we make it out of here I'll pay for all of the rounds this week." Reed laughed. "Sounds good East!" "Five seconds!" Yelled the pilot. All of the soldiers immeadiately rose up from their seats and formed two columns facing the ramp. The dropship hit the ground and the ramp flew right open. "No-one lives forever!" Yelled the sergeant as he rushed out of the ship. "Go! Go! Go!" The soldiers rushed out right behind him. Hundreds of thousands of soldiers were joining them to both the left and right sides. Infront of them were several trenches full of exhausted marines that had led the assault up untill now. Lion and Reed rushed for cover next to a dugged-in Guardian hovertank. They literally dove into the trench and landed next to three soldiers in black armor. "Guardian four-one, adjust your aim to B-sector." Said one of the soldiers who was holding a binocular. "Hey Cap, check out these two." Said one of the soldiers. Leon did a quick salute. "417th Marines reporting for duty!" The three soldiers chuckled. "Welcome to the Special-Forces, son. Looks like you'll be joining us for this advance. What's your status?" Leon and Reed grinned. "Green and mean, sir!" [I'll continue this later, don't wanna write a novel.]
(It's pretty good, but I have a question. Are you using energy or ballistic weapons?)
[A combination of both, I'm unsure of the real term for it but imagine nergy weapons that fire energy encased ballistic bullets. Kind of like some of the Mass Effect guns does.]
(I get what you're saying, but in mass effect the way that most weapons work is they use miniature mass accelerators to shoot tiny shavings from blocks of metal.)
Kira noticed the hand the scientist placed on her, she gave a very deadly glare at him. "I would very appreciate it if you didn't touch me." She moved back and she saw the Captain moving out of the ramp. "Are you the Captain?" Kira asked. "Yes I am, who are you?" Jeremy crossed his arms. "I'm Major Kira Greene of HarkArk Privateers, Covert Ops. You told me that you were sent by Colonel Braun and you have the Oracle's piece is that correct?" "Of course. I'll can escort you to it." "That's not my concern right now, my question is that did you authorize the capture of the live Crimson Son soldier?"
Viper struggled to keep conscious as the medics helped the Shanghvi upon a nearby table, making sure to used a kit of med-gel to seal the hole in Viper's torso. The risk of infection was low but for safely, they used several cans of antibiotics to kill any bacteria within the wound.
Arthur smiled again, quite warmly towards the Major's reaction. "I'm glad to see you agree with me, sweetheart. Don't worry; I'll put your team to good use." Arthur stated as she moved away from him. The Archius medical team arrived, filing into the room in an orderly fashion and placing all the necessary equipment in spaces cleared abruptly by the explosion. With that, Arthur ordered Joseph to work with the initial stages of surgery; putting Viper under anesthesia, and stabilizing him. "I want everybody who is not vital to this operation out of my medbay. Once Major Greene's team finds their way down here, we will move onto patching this... this hole, up."
Dwan gets Iska on her feet slowly and helps her get out of the medbay. Once the two enter the science lab, he places Iska onto a chair. "How are you feeling, Iska?", he asks her.
Lion snapped out of his thoughts and walked up to Arthur to hand him an earpiece. "Holler if you need anything." Lion left for the hangar and began doing some maintenance work on the ships.
After one of the medical personnel explained what had happened, Varn felt a degree of guilt "I should have put a bullet him." He saw Dwan helping Iska and went to the two. "Is she ok?"
"Yes, I have authorized the capture of the live soldier. We captured it because we believed that it could lead us to something, we attempted to interrogate it but... it failed." Jeremy said, lying was never the answer and he believed that you should always face responsibly for your actions. The Major glared at him, like a disappointing babysitter when she sees the kid made a bad mess on the floor. "Uh huh, If I were you then I'd rather have dealt with it more harshly. Because of your action you caused an incident." Kira exclaimed. "I understand that, I'm aware of my decision but surely you have more sense to research more into these guys right? That's why we captured it." "You don't think we tried that? We tried multiple ways to interrogate them for the past years. Truth serums, no result. Torture, no result. Psychological technology, no result. Captives are rare enough because of their will to suicide than to be prisoner." "Then who are these people exactly?" Jeremy said as she sat there in silence. She sighed and looked at him once again. "We studied their soldiers, autopsies and so on, even when they're alive. It's clear whatever they used to be they're just a shell. Each one has a brain implant, we tried to take them out for more information but no matter what they die or the implant self destructs."
"Her arm's burnt, same goes for her pants. Other than that, she seems fine.", Dwan tells Varn.
Pippin hurried outside the ship again and ran up to Jeremy. "Hey, I had a thought. If that thing was able to get up and blow itself up, it easily could have given away our location, or at least planted some sort of tracking device. We should probably sweep the ship, or at least the med bay for something like that."
Kira watched the Captain as Jeremy looked back at her. "I'd agree with that. If that is the case then destroy any remains of that soldier completely. We'll migrate this base to somewhere else once you're done." Kira said. Both of them went in to the Archius XI, to an extent the medbay.
[Hey! Guess who this guy is? ]
Harken Saw awaited the man that foiled his plans since Day 1. It was clear a sleeper agent knew about the Archius XI. Now his operatives caught him and he needed to face a fate devastating. Two men in black and white suits, similar masks like Harken Saw. Both pulled up a tied up man that had his mouth covered. "Have a seat asshole, I'd like to talk to you about your actions." Harken Saw said. Both operatives forced the man to sit down by a fancy chair, the guy struggled but it was hopeless. An operative threatened him with the use of a laser magnum pistol, showing the use of it if he were to disobey. "You're rather twitchy, Mr. Klein. Don't tell me you're gonna keep your mouth shut about the Crimson Son." Silence stood and he waited until it was clear this man wasn't going to talk. Harken Saw was aware of the use of interrogation tools on Crimson Son members were pointless. Mr. Klein was running on fragile time. "I expected to hear the cold shoulder I know, Mr. Klein if that's really your name you have brought it upon yourself to send info to the Crimson about my plans of the Oracle in the Archius XI weeks ago. You're a terrible bastard, wait no, you're the worst bastard across the Galaxy. If I had any regrets to kill you right now then I would have fired you instead." Harken Saw brought out a vintage handgun from his holster. Klein closed his eyes and hoped for the worst as his usefulness and service was fulfilled. Yet he heard nothing but a clink in the chamber. No bullet came out as he opened his eyes to see the barrel of the gun facing him. "Of course, you're not gonna go to the underworld that easily. You're going to suffer, you're going to know how I've felt when I was tortured, losing an eye isn't so pleasant, but that won't be all." Harken Saw turned to see the load of tools displayed. He looked above and saw the Futuristic TV in place so he can enjoy what's going on in the news while he can torture Klein. He picked up a container, the container opened as it unveiled a parasite inside a syringe. He walked beside Klein, Klein widened his eyes to see a disgusting thing and attempted to pull away. The operatives held him. "Now you might have something ringing inside your head." Harken Saw stated, he jammed the syringe inside Klein's left ear, injecting the parasite. Klein's made muffled screams throughout the room as he was forced to feel the parasite wiggling around. The intense feeling felt like pure hell and agony. Harken Saw watched the TV and saw the United Galaxy Council Channel. He noticed a Human Councilman stood up to the microphones, answering some important questions about the current conflicts. "Councilman Derek Meers? He's been rather active lately."
Yanim arrived at the scene of the ghastly explosion after everyone else, nominally because she needed to round up some droids from the other repair jobs around the ship and funnel them into the disaster area, but in truth because she was afraid of what she might find there. She had felt enthusiastic just moments before, undaunted. Or maybe she had only convinced herself that she felt nothing after seeing her crewmates bleeding on the floor of the Roughrider by burying herself in her work. Silently she considered the fact that the day's attack was the worst the crew had suffered yet. Could it get worse? Could someone die today? When the damage report came in, Yanim's blood froze. On the outside she seemed fine, but on the inside fear was destroying her. She arrived to find the crew intact, but just barely. She had to do something different to help the crew beyond anything she had done before. After watching the brief dispute between the Major and Arthur and hearing the latter dismiss all non-essential persons, she ordered the droids to follow her into hangar for the time being. The situation was troubling her on a deeper level, when all of a sudden she felt mental clarity. With a tremble in her fingers, she touched her tablet to begin recording a short message to Arthur, carefully encrypted:
Doctor Beasley, you may discard the following message if you wish, but do not reveal its contents to anyone. The Crimson soldier, he had many... <enhancements.> Were they salvaged or destroyed entirely? He and his comrades were quite capable. It may be possible to reverse engineer their talents. However, these 'privateers...' Is it not so strange that they arrived so perfectly in time? Is it not strange that they seem intent on handling the cleanup of this disaster to the exclusion of our crew? I believe they were aware of the Crimson's presence, and they are actively hiding something from us. I implore you- do not hand over the cybernetics to them. Tell them they were destroyed, or whatever you need to say, but keep them hidden. An analysis by the engineering crew may save lives, in the long run...
Pippin was furious. He had just found out that arthur had tortured their prisoner. He hadn't known at first seeing as he was unconscious. He stormed towards Jeremy. "Your doctor was torturing that assassin, did you know about this?"
"Can you elaborate? I only authorized the capture of the assassin and that's it. But I don't see how you manage to come to the conclusion that Arthur was torturing it."
"Fine then. I heard whisperings, I'll go ask the doctor himself." (Was that not something I should have known about http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1457037&page=54?)
Viper laid on the table as they rush though the wall of wrecked med bay, running to a surgical room that was left unharmed in the blast, Their started putting oxygen masks as one of them went over to a nearby console, clearing the room of air and lowing it's gravity like last time a operation was done on Viper. They attempted to put Viper under using several different of anesthesia, none of them really work as Viper's remain conscious after the hole was sealed but was able to stay still as they begin the operation. Viper was no stranger to be operate on live, while it did bring out a very unpleasant memory, Viper soldier though it as the team continued onward with the operation. First, they begin removed the remaining parts of the armor, making sure not to break or hurt anything as they slowly took off each blacken piece of the destroyed suit after the next. The Sanghvi's body had recovered quite a bit from last time Viper was put under the light, Most of the wounds had healed over but Viper was still missing both legs and the right upper talon.
Arthur, having no real surgery talents of his own, had been supervising Joseph and making sure no one unimportant came wandering in, as well as keeping Squish well away from the body. As he leaned back and waited until Joseph required some real assistance, a message popped up on his communicator. He smiled as he read Yanim's name, though his lips curled down at the message inside. He began writing something back, attempting to emulate her style of encryption.
My dear, I'm afraid I share your sentiments, at least to some extent. That ice queen Major from the outpost expressed quite a pressing fondness to take control of the science department, at least for long enough that her 'team' could complete surgery on our dear Viper. I had my doubts that's all they wished to do down here, though I mostly took Greene's attempts to lock me and my team out of our own department as a personal insult. We're deep into the vital parts of surgery, and Ms Greene's team haven't even arrived yet. The cybernetics and the assassin took... quite the beating before the blast. They are bashed and a little broken, but Lion or someone else may take them for a look-over, to see if they are able to be salvaged. I fully object to any attempt of reverse engineering; that would make us no better than pirates, and I believe you should know better than that. The only reason that should happen is if it somehow can truly save lives. Even then, I will report this to the captain, for his approval. Yanim, I must request that you make your way down here again. I'd like you to wait by the entrance and prevent anyone from coming in. A couple people have made their way into the science lab; make sure the coast is clear while they hide the enhancements in the janitorial room. That seems like a suitable place, for now. Oh, and if you see Ms Greene's team, do tell them that they are barred from entering surgery.
Arthur typed up his message fast as he could and sent it off. He told Jordon to take over supervising for just a minute, as he quickly made his way into the science lab, dragging the cybernetics from the assassin in with him. There, he found Dwan, Iska and Varn. "You three; I must request your assistance. My dear Yanim should be making her way down here soon; I would request that you assist her in taking these enhancements and hiding them in the janitor's storage just across the hall." Arthur told the trio, as he motioned to the items he had brought in with him. Arthur gave them all a brief lecture of his and Yanim's suspicions. "Dwan and Varn, I would surely appreciate your help in this matter. Iska can help too, once she's regained her senses."
"Alright. Let's hope Byron doesn't notice.", Dwan said, as he took the cybernetics and began to slowly drag them to the janitor's storage.
"Hold on, I have an idea." Varn rushed towards the armory. Once there, he found what he was looking for. The crate that originally held the armor from Harken Saw. He picked it up and placed it on the hand cart left behind. He pushed it back to the science lab "Start putting the cybernetics in the crate. If they ask, just tell them were putting stuff in storage."
"Brilliant.", Dwan said as he put the cybernetics in the crate. "Let's get this bad boy to storage then.", he said, as the two drag the crate to the janitor's storage across the hall.
As Lion looked out on the covert outpost, his mind wandered off once again. Leon and Reed grinned. "Green and mean, sir!" The special-forces soldiers grinned back and readied their wepaons. The captain extended his hand. "Captain McKinze of the SSFD Highlanders." Leon and Reed both shook his hand before presenting themselves. "Corporal Eastlindth and Corporal Reed, sir." McKinze nodded. "Good, now let's get this show on the road: All Guardians, this is Highlander-Lead! Focus your fire on the enemy bunkers, give 'em everything you have!" Immediately several laserpointers came alive and started marking dozens of bunkers infront of the SDF trenches. Hovertank after hovertank began aiming slightly upwards while readying their missiles. The McKinze raised his arm. "Wait for it..." He clenched his hand and in return all of the guardians fired away. The effect was spectacular, almost all of the bunkers were turned into heaps of dust, rock and concrete. The Divinity Creed militia started their retreat towards their fortress. "Forward!" Yelled McKinze as he vaulted the trench. The marines followed, roaring as they began sprinting towards the next trenchline. "For Terra!" Yelled Leon at the top of his lungs. Thousands of marines ran alongside him, with the occassional hovertank speeding past them. "This is SAF Command, gunships are on station!" Hundreds of SDF Marauder gunships appeared from out of the clouds, they began engaging the Creed forces with both rockets and machinegun fire. Leon was almost deafened by the sheer amount of explosions and comms-chatter as the hovertanks and gunships began coordinating their shots. Finally, the soldiers recahed the Creed trenches and quickly cleared them of any stragglers hoping to avoid or ambush the marines. Leon clinged to his gun as he landed in the trench next to McKinze and the two other Highlanders. Reed appeared shortly after. "You good Reed?" Reed nodded and smiled. "I didn't think we'd be that many." McKinze turned around. "Theses Creed-types are the last fanatics in the system that aren't on their way to leave. Terra is throwing everything she's got to make sure that these bastards get the message." He turned around again to face the battlefield. "All units, this is Highlander-Lead. Begin phase two, I want those barriers up, tanks digged in and artillery cannons ready to fire. Gunships, keep the pressure on their forces but do not, I repeat, do not enter the dangerzone around the fortress." Several protective energy barriers were immeadiately deployed to protect the trenchline while the guardians used their hoverpods to create small craters in which they could reside for cover.
((Someone bring me up to date with a summary of what happened during my ban.))
[We landed on a swamp planet to get an artifact. Got attacked by an unknown creature, then by crazy religious zealots and then by the Crimson son. The result of the fight was that Jebb got injured, Pippin and Iska(after going crazy) were unconscious. I think Sledge's pet also got injured. Viper nearly kills Iska while trying to subdue her, then gets attacked by assassins but escapes with one of them as a prisoner. The team got the artifact and escaped the Crimson son and are now inside an asteroid base owned by HarkArk, I think. Varn and Arthur were torturing the assassin that Viper captured, after that Viper got stripped of her rank and Varn is the current head of security, he still doesn't know that. Viper was in the medbay and the assassin snuck out and exploded nearly killing her and injuring others. Joseph is in charge of healing Viper. Dwan and Varn are sneaking the assassin's cybernetic parts to the janitor's storage. Lion is having flashbacks and captain Jeremy is getting angrier. Oh and Varn is close to becoming berserk unless Arthur finds a cure for him. I'm sure I missed something, so please correct me.]
