"No, I can never forget it. Despite being in a robotic body I still have alot of emotions and thoughts. It's hard to explain, maybe that's the result of having a human mind inside a robot.
Working helps, I get something to focus on. There's something relaxing about piecing together a weapon from scratch.
But when bad things happen, things that reminds me of my past, my mind just wanders off."
"There are two things that bother me. First, if the gas caught up to both you and Reed, why is it that they only recovered you? And second..... did they give your body a funeral?", Dwan asked.
"Well the chemicals first trigger a seizure before the affected either dies or enter a painful coma. They managed to save me mainly because my seizures weren't as bad as Reed's." He paused and got a puzzled look on his face.
"I'm unsure about my body though, I never asked what happened to it. It's unlikely that they gave it a funeral though, for a short time I made some headlines as "The Soldier that cheated Death"."
"You mention something about your mind wandering off. Are you talking about flashbacks of sorts?", Dwan asked, thinking he's onto something.
"Yes, that's actually exactly what it is. The past five or so hours I've spent trying to focus on work but I keep having flashbacks from the battle at God's Refuge."
Dwan suspected it. "Are you sure you don't suffer some robotic version of PTSD or something?", he says, trying not to sound rude.

Pippin cut in. "I think it would just be normal ptsd, I mean, Lion your brain's still human right?"
Lion thought for a while before responding to Dwan and Pippin. "I don't think so. PTSD triggers both flashbacks and strong emotions which often result in dangerous real-life behaviour. For me it's more of a daydream, I don't anything during the flashbacks. I remain solid. If I would act out or transfer whatever I see in my flashbacks then you could worry about me having PTSD."
He turned to Pippin. "As for my brain, everything was transferred. Imagine having everything that defines a person being moved to another body. Not just memories but my emotions, thoughts, conscious etc."
Jeb was in the med bay still, but in pain and still bored. He was told that in addition to his life threatening injuries, he had 3 broken ribs. Those hurt like an absolute pest, however. In addition to the broken ribs, Jeb still had a hurting nose; but that didn't seem so significant anymore.
In the meantime, he finally got enough strength that the head medical attendant suggested that he attempt to do some rehab. The first step was pretty simple. Walking. He had to get that lingering anestesia drowsiness out of his system. So Jeb made his rounds, one of them being the bar.
[not sure if this post makes sense, let me know if something doesn't make sense in this]
Lion noticed Jeb entering the bar. "Hey! Look who's up, how are you feeling Jeb?"
Yanim stood in the hall outside the medical bay as Arthur requested, ensuring that the cybernetic pieces would be safely transferred into the closet. No one attempted to interfere while Dwan and Varn moved them, to her relief. Deep down, she was slightly agitated. Arthur had been smart to save the components so that they were still within reach. However, he strongly objected to her notion of reverse engineering. Could he not see that the only way the crew would survive such deadly opposition was to out-gun and out-tech their opponents?
Her heart began to race as a devilish thought crossed her mind. Arthur said he would get the captain's approval to salvage them, meaning that the parts would make their way into the engineering department... eventually. Once they were there, she could do as she wished- if only for a moment, her hands would be free to seek out any advantage such technology contained, and who would object when they see what was possible...
A wicked smile pierced her lips as she sent a simple message to Arthur.
Thank you Dr. Beasley for standing with me on this issue. Crew comes before HarkArk. I understand your concern about reverse-engineering and will abide by it. Please let me know when it will be acceptable for the repair droids to enter the medbay.
"Like absolute junk" Jeb replied. "And to think that before we touched down on Gadon, a hurt nose was my biggest issue".
[sleep time for now]
Lion chuckled. "You looked a little pale for a while, especailly when I did some field-surgery on you."

"For god sake Viper," Joseph said as he removed his surgical gloves. "You really need to stop getting yourself in trouble or else you wouldn't be zat lucky next time."
Varn radioed the Medbay. "Hey is it safe to bring Iska down to medical, without risking Viper getting infected?"
Arthur smiled at Varn this time.
"Yes Varn, you may. In fact, this would be the perfect time to begin work on your little problem as well. I'll leave Iska in Joseph's capable hands until then." He told the merc, as he walked into the science lab and waited.
Squish notices Arthur walk into the science lab. "Hello! I swear I didn't leave the test tubes spinning for too long. It also wasn't me that contaminated the stool samples with the urine samples!" The Feeblian bursts out of somewhat frightfulness.
"Ill be on my way." Varn helped Iska get back to the Medbay. If anything Joseph proved to be a capable doctor, so he would take care of his comrade. Varn entered the science lab next. "I'm here doctor Beasley, what do you need me to do?"
"How'd they manage that Lion? I've never seen anyone with an entire robotic body."
Arthur rubbed the temples of his nose at Squish' antics and presence.
"Please, just... just don't destroy anything. And stop asking for stool samples from staff while they're still in the stalls. Humans and many aliens alike do not appreciate it." Arthur told him, just as he noticed Varn in enter the lab in his peripheral.
"Ah, good evening my friend. If you may, Take a seat while I explain what will happen over the next few hours." Arthur asked Varn, as he found a seat and pulled himself up in front of him.
To answer your early question; yes, I do know what you are. You are Madacherib. Such an ugly name for such... such a beautiful creation. I had previously admired your creator for his work, before you mentioned his lack of attention to detail. I truly despise the idea of someone creating sentient life under such conditions and principles. Setting someone up to die through your poor work? I hope the man who created you died a horrible death at the hands of his creations." Arthur explained, as he slowly became impassioned by his ideals and began to go off on a tandem.
"I er... I digress. I had been working on a plan of action after our interactions with that assassin fellow that concerned your problem, before he went and blew a hole through our dear Viper. With assistance from engineering and from Joseph, once he's finished with Iska, we're going to cut you open and implant a chip in your brain. I hypothesize that if we feed it a minute amount of the chemical used to keep your mind in check, the chip will be able to simulate the dependency process your brain has on it, and ween you off the stuff. Like a cocaine addict." Arthur snorted.
"The chip may have to stay inside of you for a long time, but I believe that it should be enough to stop any battlefield psychosis you may encounter. Any thoughts?"
"I'm all for it. Hell, you may have just solved another problem I had. But that's something else entirely." Varn made a worried look towards Squish. "I assume that he wont be anywhere near the operation table." Varn stood up from the chair "When do we start?"
"How'd they manage that Lion? I've never seen anyone with an entire robotic body."
"Damned if I know, I only met the surgeon and the doctor that did it all once. They asked me some "routine" questions to see if the whole body-transfer worked."
Jeb answered Lion, "really, I heard things really went poorly after that swamp thing showed up, glad we all got out of there alive"
Squish looks over to Varn. "Don't have the operation next to my table. Everything is a mess and strewn about everywhere. I am for sure no one wants samples inside of them when they are being cut open."
Overall the operation was fairly short and relativity painless, the wound was fully sealed with a case of nano paste and any infections were quickly dealt with under Joseph careful eye. He took a full look over the wounded shell of the Sanghvi, before taking a deep sign and took off his surgical gloves, moving his mouth as he look at Viper's eyes.
His words fell on deaf ears as Viper's Implant was disable prior to the operation.
After his talk to Viper, Joseph looked over at the door and pointed to it. Two assistants carried the stretcher with Viper on it to a nearby medical room.
One of assistant walked over to Viper, placing his finger on the Implant, activating it.
"Alright, that should be it..." One of the assistant said as they take a step back and looked over at Viper. "Hey Xeno-" one of them says before being elbowed in the back by the other.
"Viper....Violet Solari?" The one to the left said, waiting for Viper to respond. Viper took a few moment to get readjusted to the Implant.
Viper looked over at the soft-carbon. "Y..Yes?" Viper says to the soft-carbons as one of them turned their head. "What do you soft- crewmen needed?"
"We just wanted to check your status, Sir" One of them said as he put his hands behind his back and stood in a upright posture, the other one had a Data-pad in her hands. "Your suit has been put into shop, the Kanad and- I mean Yanim and Iska should have it band new in due time." The crew member said as she put the Data-pad on a table in the room.
Viper looked over the room and the guests. "Good..You two are dismiss." The crew-members nodded and walk out of the room. "Oh..And before I forget." one of them said before taking a step outside of the room. "We're here for your safely, sir."
The other added on. "Yeah, Me and Jack will be standing guard at the door. Just shriek if ya need anything."
Viper looked over the injures that the Sanghvi had sustain as the two started bickering to each other as the door slammed shut behind them.
[Now that the editing button works I can finally update the OP without struggle. Added Pippin to the list.]
"Now how the heck do you open this thing?" Jeremy said.
"Did you have any translations to go through when you first located it?" Kira asked.
"It said only the worthy may open this sphere. Not exactly the line but close enough, so I guess we have to save some dogs from a fire. Tho I don't think Harken Saw wants us to open i just yet."
"I would agree." The Major said to the Captain. "Now how long do we exactly have to wait in this base? Weeks, a month?" Jeremy asked, if the Crimson Son were as dangerous as they say they were their forces would probably track them down literally everywhere just to get the pieces. He can't think straight without some authority chasing him down.
"Probably a week at least, we change coordinates every day the chances of them finding us are slim." She stated.
"Aren't they like the masters of stealth, they can appear everywhere kind of guys?"
"They're great at what they do but they ain't slick enough to literally find our hideouts. Most of the time that is." Kira added in. Jeremy held his hands in his pockets, he couldn't tell what to think about Kira. Was she the kind of person who is straight to the point, is she keeping secrets from the Crew?
"Can I ask you something?" Jeremy asked. She turned but didn't keep eye contact, looking straight ahead. "Of course."
"You're not keeping any secrets from us are you?"
"What secrets do I have to hide? It would be pointless, we are working for the same CEO right?" Kira said to him which gave him a smile. "True but technically you're part of the Privateers, who knows what kind of work you do." The comment finally gave the breakthrough to give Kira a curve on the mouth even though it was barely considered a positive expression it was something.
"I have my classified information, but it doesn't involve your crew."
(Viper, I thought the only thing allowing you to speak currently from the last accident was the suit. If you are not in your suit, how are you talking?)
((The implant was a separate piece from the suit, Spark))
Having no current tasks or orders, Yanim returned to the engineering bay to kill some time until something comes up. When she arrived, she removed a small item from a locked box- the neural bridge that Harken Saw had given her on Termina Central. Since leaving that base, Yanim had little time to examine or work with it. Setting it on a wireless reader, she watched the ship's computer read and display its "single-license schematic," a design which would only remain in the display so long as licensed hardware was present on the table- a form of DRM.
Yanim called into the display a device which she had actually begun work on before joining the Archius, but had never had the resources to experiment with in physical form. Even now, it was not ready for construction.
The device, labeled YS-NZ1, was in fact four cross-wired and hacked duplicates of a NewGen artificial limb nervous system adaptor Yanim had salvaged while on her first job. A NewGen artificial leg adaptor(specifically, one designed for the kanad market,) contains 48 nodes, intended to connect with an equivalent number of nerve endings at the site of the leg's installation. Yanim's version therefore contained 192, as well as analog input on each node instead of digital for an extraordinary diversity in the types of signals transmitted.
This was because Yanim had no intent of attaching a leg to it. The YS-NZ1 was meant to attach directly to the brain.
She knew that the number of connections needed to attach the device would be impossible to achieve in a surgical setting, and so she planned to have Joseph extract a small sample of her own brain tissue which she could have developed in a controlled environment. There, the device would be used to interact with the cells and give them impulses. The connections to the nodes would then develop naturally, allowing for the device to be implanted on the back of her head.
From there, it would be weeks of therapy, chemical and medicinal treatment, and repeated surgeries to ensure that the new brain matter would merge with her own. From there, it would not be difficult to adapt the YS-NZ1 to the CNE-512X neural bridge. She would call the entire arrangement YS-X.
As for what she could do with it... she would use it to speak with a single device, which would in turn speak back. It would also speak to machines for her, and, strangely, she would be able to speak for machines, should they have a need for verbal communication. It made her head spin, and she became lost in thought imagining it all. Most importantly, it would be a more passive arrangement than those used by several of her crewmembers. Aside from Lion, it would be the most perfect translation of thought into electronics available.
Suddenly, the door opened behind her. A young man poked his head in, "Excuse me, Yanim-"
"What?" Yanim snapped.
"We have Viper's exosuit here for repair," he replied, annoyed. He and an assistant wheeled the cart into the room, revealing the thrashed metal exterior Yanim had helped to build just a few weeks prior. She made a quiet whining noise at the sorry sight.
"Tha-thank you... kadaren. <comrade.>"
Stepping over, she traced with her finger the lines of damage from each attack the armor had sustained, each burn caused by the Crimson Son's assassination attempt, every piece of evidence that the soldier underneath was wounded by something Yanim's work had failed to guard against. With a sigh, she put her own work away again.
Requesting all non-wounded engineering personnel please report to engineering bay. I have something to show you.
((Back from vacation, y'all.))
The Major and Jeremy walked to the top floor, where operators called in other outposts, it was most certainly a network. Jeremy looked around each person bearing the HarkArk insignia, typing away like workers. "Where are we going?" Jeremy asked.
"I need to contact my superior officer. The sphere, the Divinity Creed are all things I should update." She said bluntly, facing a large screen in the middle of the room as Jeremy stood by. She entered a few passcodes and commands, activating the screen as static popped up.
The screen unveiled a man in his fifties, brown hair and what appeared to be a cybernetic arm on his left. "Major Greene, what's your reason for calling me at this time?" He said sternly, a small glimpse on Kira's face showed some eyes rolling.
"Lt. General, with the update on the Oracle, Archius XI has found the second piece. It's currently in place inside a sphere. Right now we are currently in migration mode." She stated, earning a bit of a stare from her commanding officer.
"Good, right now let's hope Harken Saw gives us something in a reward for once, alright any other news?"
"Sir, our outpost on Gadon to secure the Oracle's piece was lost due to the Divinity Creed's bombardment on the planet. Our current lead shows us we've lost communication a day ago, their gassing on the planet explains how no one is communicating with us."
"WHAT?! You have got to be kidding me, the Divinity Creed? Look, I'll look into the Gadon situation. Where is Colonel Yai Vin Braun?" A small silence occured as her officer asked her.
"I don't know sir, it's been a while. It's reported he encountered the Crimson Son's fleet." She said to him, feeling a tone of grimace. The officer was speechless, this was a terrible three way side to get into right now.
"I'll try to contact him, right now your mission is to keep this Archius Crew out of sight out of mind. Until we can get this sphere, start babysitting. This transmission is over." The screen immediately blacked out. Kira turned to the Captain, staring with a blank expression.
"Now what?" Jeremy asked.
"Your crew waits, I think it'll be wise to announce this to your members." Jeremy sighed and scratched the side of his head.
