Lion chuckled. "Relax Herc, it will feel better soon. The armor will automatically adapt to his physique in a few minutes."
Pippin walked up to Herc and started petting him.
"That ended rather well." Kira said with sarcasm, a bit of frustration made her want to throw her beret on the ground comically. Kira shook her head and proceeded. She turned to Varn. "Has anyone ever utilize squad formations, first aid, suppressive fire perhaps? If not then I would like for them to work on it."
Dwan decides to check Intergalactica. This time, he hopes he gets good news.

GOLDEN WAVE LEADER: EXCLUSIVE Q&A WITH INTERGALACTICA
---
Later today, Intergalactica will be having an exclusive interview and Q&A session with the leader of the Golden Wave, Aver Lagul. Stay tuned!
---------
ODDWORLD REVOLUTION
---
The planet of Oddworld has just suffered a massive planetary revolution, as many of the industrial companies such as RuptureFarms have been completely destroyed and thrown over by the natives of the planet. With foreign aid, we must add.
---------
ORKS RUN AMOK
---
Many Orks are beginning to leave their homeworlds, such as Charadon and Octarius, to find new work. According to rumors, many are joining mercenary groups due to their battle experience.
Dwan was happy for the natives of Oddworld, but he hoped the revolution doesn't end like revolutions usually do. However, the headline caught his eye. What could Lagul talk about? He changes the frequency of the bar's comm and sends Varn a message. "Varn, we got some news about the Golden Wave.", he said to Varn through the comm.
"Well major, everyone in the security team has provided suppressive fire. Dr. Heilburg is our medic. I believe Dr. Beasley has some medical skill. And Lion has shown he can apply First aid help to someone on the field." He took a big sigh "As for our squad formations, their...chaotic, to say the least. Then again, not many civilians join in combat. I can help organize squad training, but I've been trained in..lets say unorthodox methods."
Varn received Dwan's message. "What did you find out?"
((I'll be unavailable for most of tonight, just figure Yanim's gone to surgery for a little bit.))
"According to Intergalactica, they are going to interview Aver Lagul, the leader of the Golden Wave. They'll also have a Q&A session with her aswell. I'll keep you updated.", Dwan replied to Varn's message.
Lion chuckled. "Relax Herc, it will feel better soon. The armor will automatically adapt to his physique in a few minutes."
Hercules whined, a little unsure as the armor flexed slightly to fit his form better.
Pippin walked up to Herc and started petting him.
But after receiving a few head pats seemed to calm down significantly.
Lion nodded towards Sledge and Herc. "I'll let you figure things out, yell if you need anything." Said Lion as he left the duo and approached the Major and Varn.
He did a quick salute. "Sir." He looked at Varn before turning to the Major. "Ma'am."
Lion crossed his arms. "Do we have a preliminary training plan yet? Anything specific you need help with?"
"I think we should drop the sir. I was never a fan of being called that."After a few seconds Varn continued "I have a few ideas. The firing range here is useful for weapon's training, so we got that covered." he pointed towards the gymnasium" The gymnasium has a mat and a ring. We can use those for sparring and if anyone has issues, maybe they can work them out there. We can also use a small part of the hangar to build a training course. There should be enough room for it, until we get more ships. Any thoughts?"
Dwan stared intensely into his tablet, waiting for Intergalactica to update. Then, suddenly, the interview became available. Dwan opened it up.
Recently, we managed to get an exclusive interview deal with the Golden Wave, the hottest new mercenary group this side of the Draco Dwarf Galaxy. From what we know, the former special slave division under the Gold Dusts revolted from their dusty overlords on planet Rigel, during its Inquisition against the Screechers. As part of our deal, we are not only interviewing select members of the new group, but also the captain herself.
Speaking of the captain, Aver Lagul has stirred a lot of controversy for her actions on Rigel, from not only the Gold Dusts but from the mercenary community in large. An exiled criminal from her homeworld, she's been taught in multiple ways of identifying individuals throughout the known universe. Smell, sounds, even taste. She can identify it.
Intergalactica: Thank you for allowing us to even have a chance to interview you.
Aver Lagul: Happy to oblige.
Intergalactica: Now, before we talk about what happened on Rigel and about the Wave, let's talk about your past. How did you end up as part of the Wave in the first place?
Lagul: Quite the first question. Now, it happened long ago. I had just been recently exiled from my homeworld for using my identification skills for criminal purposes. Now, news spreads fast through the mercenary community, especially if it has to do with exiled people, as they can be captured quite easily. The Gold Dusts, having heard of my abilities before, managed to capture me first. They put me in a recently formed slave division, which they called the Golden Wave, sort of like a new wave of Gold Dusts, as we were all very skilled slaves.
Intergalactica: We're going to guess you thought of revolting long before Rigel, right?
Lagul: Yes, as we ever so slowly grew larger, so did our power within the Gold Dusts. Despite us being slaves, we were highly respected among their ranks. The question for us was when we were going to revolt. Rigel was the perfect place.
Intergalactica: Now, how did the Wave do it?
Lagul: It was pretty easy, to be honest. When the Inquisition started, they sent us in together with some of their own troops. I think they got too relaxed with us, as we easily outnumbered their troops. When we landed, the Golds left the ship first. We responded by firing at them first. We stayed in the area, in order to lay low. We left with our standard slave ship, the now christened W-01. Soon afterwards, the news spread throughout Rigel and out into the universe.
Intergalactica: The Gold Dusts even made a public statement, saying that they will do their best to reintegrate the Wave back. What do you say to this?
Lagul: I trust my comrades' skills. We can beat them back, don't you worry.
Intergalactica: Now, part of the reason why you wanted to do this interview was to announce a few things in relation to the Wave. What would that be?
Lagul: Yes. For the longest time, as part of the Gold Dust tradition, we have used electronic real-time business cards for the sake of transparency. However, as time has shown, these cards don't really work for us mercs, as rival groups can easily check what members you have. So, we will unfortunately be discontinuing our cards.
Intergalactica: How tragic.
Lagul: We'll be trying our best to keep transparency despite this. Also, due to us being a former Gold Dust division, we've got many of the same systems and rules as they do. This will soon change, as we begin a group shuffling. One of the biggest changes will be our rules regarding slaves and slave trade.
Intergalactica: And what are they?
Lagul: While our group had it easy due to its success, the same can't be said for other slaves throughout the universe. So, we will be joining the effort of freeing slaves from slavery wherever we go. And that means the slave divisions of other merc groups too.
Intergalactica: Slightly on-topic question, was the Wave involved in the recent planetary revolution on Oddworld?
Lagul: Yes, we assisted by sending guns and troops to help. However, we are just a small fraction of organizations that have helped in the revolution. Oooooops, wasn't supposed to say thaaaaat.
Intergalactica: That's going to anger the UGC for sure.
Lagul: The UGC hurts as badly as wet toilet paper, the most we'd get would be an angry message. Also, we've got news for any rival groups out there, including our former overlords. We've been expanding quite quickly. As we've been freeing slaves, we give many of them the choice of joining our group. And many have said yes.
Intergalactica: Now, we know that this is a bit of a private question, but could you possibly tell us what races have joined, atleast a few?
Lagul: I see why not. I mean, we are closing in at about 150 members and rising currently, thanks to our slave freeing program. Out of the races that have joined us, we've got Mudokons, Glukkons, Freezers, Gemmas, Scrin, Yautja and a horde load of Orks. We've even got a Saiyan.
Intergalactica: That's quite the terrifying ensemble you have there.
Lagul: Thank you. They are all thankful for their freeing and are quite loyal.
Intergalactica: And people can hire the group at prices cheaper than normal?
Lagul: Cheaper than the Gold Dusts, that's for sure. Hahaha.
Intergalactica: Anyway, you must be busy with all that work. Thank you again for this interview.
Lagul: No worries.
Stay tuned for the upcoming Q&A session we'll be having with Lagul.
This new info scared Dwan to his core. 120+ in about 3 weeks? The Golden Wave is no joke, that's for sure. Dwan grabs his comm. "Varn, the interview's out. And you will not believe this...", Dwan said, as he began telling Varn the details of the interview.
Sledge parked Hercules in front of the firing range and pointed him towards a target. He'd never worked with neural implants before, but it couldn't be too hard if Lion thought he and Hercules could handle it alone.
Sledge pointed to the target at the end of the range.
"Alright buddy, that's a bad guy over there! You gotta get him!"
Hercules yelped happily and tried to step out onto the range but Sledge put up a beefy arm to stop him.
"Nonono, buddy, you can't go out there. You gotta take him down from right here!"
Hercules made a few confused whines and stared intently at the range target. He paced anxiously in place, not knowing what to do.
"Herc, you've got a gun strapped to your back, and you have to think to make it work!"
Hercules turned to try to see what exactly was on his back but couldn't really get a good look at it. Instead he just turned back to Sledge, expectantly.
Sledge was going to have to give him some context. How the hell do you teach a dragon to use a gun? Wait...
"Herc, uncle Lion gave you fire breath! You can spit fire now! Shoot fire at that guy!"
Hercules cocked his head for a moment, seemingly in disbelief. Slowly turning back to face the target, Hercules took a deep breath and released a loud yelp. Nothing happened.
"Come on, Herc, you gotta try harder!"
Herc let out a longer, more emphatic yelp, but it was still to no effect.
"HARDER! LIKE YOU MEAN IT!"
Taking one more sharp breath in, Herc released a deafening roar, like a lion, accompanied by an even more deafening concussive sound as the two blanks in each cannon chamber went off.
At the sound both Hercules and Sledge hit the ground, caught off guard by the sudden noise. After regaining his senses, Sledge rolled over and hug-wrestled Herc.
"AAAAAA I KNEW YOU HAD IT IN YOU! Let's try it a few more times with the blanks and then we'll get Lion to give you the real deal!"
The surgery went extremely quickly as it was an exceedingly simple procedure, but it had to be prefaced by hours of pre-examination and a lot of disclaimers had to be signed in order for Yanim to get a living sample of her own brain tissue. After the anesthesia had worn off, Yanim oversaw the container's integration into the core of the YS-NZ1, where for the next three days it would be cultured into the proper physiological order by one of the medbay's student doctors, before getting a strict examination on day four.
She would be spending the meantime finalizing the physical construction of the adaptor package which would surround the core. If all appeared to be going to plan, she would return to Joseph's operating table to have the finished device implanted in her head.
Today, however, she was too tired to return to the engineering lab yet again and so she decided head to the bar. The surgery had in truth been so microscopic that she wasn't required to abstain from alcohol for the night. Even if they had recommended it, Yanim knew exactly how small the risks were and considered having a drink was worth it- especially since she really enjoyed the taste of dzekor.
She shrugged as she thought about it. "[Figures... should have tried a kanad drink to begin with.]" Her only concern at this point was whether the sociopath, Arthur, would be there at the bar. Yet... even if he was, what was the worst that could happen? Yanim shook the thought away. She had already been through the worst today.
"I think we should drop the sir. I was never a fan of being called that."After a few seconds Varn continued "I have a few ideas. Lion nodded. "I'll head down to the hangar and begin working on a preliminary training course."
"Good, when your done we can do a test run." Varn's comms lid up, on the other side he could hear Dwan's voice. He didn't like what he heard."150 members or more already? And I assume that they will ignore the code. Damn girl is playing with fire in a room full of explosives. If this ends with war between mercs, the galaxy is gonna become even more dangerous. Thanks for keeping me informed Dwan."
Lion had finished the course in the hangar. Using various crates in varying sizes, tires from Lynx, cargo pods from Rouhhrider and other items he had created a conditioning course, a obstacle course and several competitive exercises.
"Varn, get down here."
"On my way." Varn exited the armory and went down to the the hangar."Lets see what you made."
"Alright I think that settles some problems." Jeremy muttered, anxiously hoping this can harden some of the casuals. He saw Kira watching the ship interior. "You have some footage of your escape?"
"Definitely, I'll show you." Both went to go to the bridge.
[1 more week and summer will be here, then I'll be officially a junior hell yeah]
Lion nodded at Varn before gesturing towards the hangar. He pointed to a marked circle. "Conditioning exercise."
He then pointed at a marked square. "Penalty zone incase they question the exercises, they'll be doing push-ups in there."
Lion then moved on and gestured towards several formations of boxes. "Obstacle course."
He then pointed at the two cargopods belonging to Roughrider, they had been positioned to align with two taped stripes on the floor.
Rope had been tied around them.
"Competition, the team that drags their pod to the finish line first wins."
He then gestured towards Lynx.
"Teamwork exercise, work together to push the entire rover across the finish line."
The bar seemed a bit more quiet than usual. Dwan was reading something on his tablet; as Yanim entered the two greeted each other but both were deep in thought. She asked for another dzekor with vodka before seating herself and taking out a pen. On a napkin, she began doing calculations involving acceleration, g-forces, weight and thrust...
Andron seemingly wandered throughout the ship, wearing his overcoat again. Searching for Human activities to get involved in. One of the most common places Humans go to were at the bar to have a good time, according to his programming. He entered and saw a bartender and a Kanad. He turned as he saw the kanad reading. "Greetings, I've noticed you have been under great stress lately." Andron stared at her with curiosity.
"Hm?" Yanim turned and saw the large robot entering the bar. "Accurate observation," she said with a frown, "but what would a robot know about it? Don't answer; it's rhetorical." Andronicus continued to stare in confusion. "What are you doing here, anyway?" she asked after realizing it was strange for a robot to linger in the bar.
Having given Yanim her dzekor with vodka, Dwan went back to reading Intergalactica. As he was waiting for new info to pop up, Andronicus entered out of nowhere. "Hey there? Want a drink?", he asked the robot sarcastically.
"To study a Human's way of entertainment, my judgement analyzes this room as another form of entertainment." Andron answered.
"Hey there? Want a drink?"
The bodyguard sensed a male voice coming behind him, Andron turned. "Unfortunately I do not need essentials to maintain this unit despite your kind sarcastic question to service me alcohol thank you." It said monotone, whether it deadpanned back was ambiguous at best. Andron sat down near one of the stools.
"Interesting," Yanim replied, flatly. "Fascinating. So the humans build a robot that study humans. That is either narcissism or inadequate effort from the part of your programmers." Looking Andron over, she wondered just how much of his chassis was dedicated to raw strength and how much was dedicated to sensory and intellect. It was difficult to tell anything about him just by looking, even with a mechanic's eye, which was probably Harken Saw's intent. Remembering her current project, she decided to change the subject.
"For the sake of solving a physics problem, I need to know- how much do you weigh?"
Andonicus answered.
"And what is the maximum height from which you can fall safely?"
"If properly positioned, I can survive impacts at terminal velocity," he replied.
"Shpek. <Fine.> Would you be damaged from such a landing?"
"Likely, although not incapacitated."
"And what about undamaged? How much of an impact can you take without anything needing maintenance?"
"No more than 60 meters per second."
Yanim nodded. "Appreciated," she said, tersely. She looked up and noticed that Dwan seemed curious, so she elaborated, "it's for an attachment I am designing for the Knight system based on repulsor circuit technology. Has two uses- parachute and weight-assist. It's definitely possible, but for robot I needed additional information. You'll all receive it when it's ready."
Varn observed and examined every part of the course Lion designed. "Well done. Ill start making a list of the teams. Ill also ask the crew, who they prefer to work with. Their input will help. If you have any suggestions on who can work well with who, please tell me." Varn turned on the intercom. "Guys, were making a list of teams for training. If you prefer to work with anyone, now's the time to let us know."
"I think it would be better to combine those that usually don't talk to each other. For example, Yanim and Iska seem to have begun developing a friendship which is of benefit for the entire crew, putting them together could help that."
He looked at Varn. "Just a suggestion."
Lion then went for the hangar control room so that he could overlook the entire area. While waiting for the trainees to arrive he begun checking the stock on the armory supplies.
He noticed that he had more than he needed and decided to call Yanim on her communicator.
"Hey Yanim, I have some extra engineering supplies. I don't suppose you would be interested in those? It's mostly extra NewGen tech components."
Lion's suggestion reminded him of his relationship with his brothers. "Great idea. Ill keep it in mind."
"Interesting.", Dwan responded to Yanim. "Andronicus, tell me, do you dream of electric sheep?", Dwan asked the Sentinel sarcastically once more, as he tried to see if he could teach the robot to deadpan like a master.
[In other news, I somewhat finished the timeline page on TVTropes. The "Pre-Prologue" section is still underdeveloped though. Whether or not I put enough detail into the page is debatable, though one could easily edit and add more things.]
[Nice work Damian!]
