[Yo, sorry man I should have asked if it was alright to skip, I really wanted to advance the story. For what it's worth this will be the last time to do a large time skip for this.]
(( Okay, apology accepted. Sorry I'm so upset about this but I had something planned. It's not super important to the story but I thought it would have made for some good RP. I'll send you a PM next time. ))
[Whatever you're planning then don't hesitate to share. Any idea is welcomed, as long as it's not dumb dumb~ Oh was it that Iska-Sledge thing you've wanted to do? ]
[First of all, I just want to say that it has been a blast playing with you guys. Playibg an RP online is like reading a good book, it leaves all to imagination. Thanks. Secondly, I'm very interested in the possibilty of character death. Although I'm not certain how it will work with the roll system. More importantly, if ones character were to parish, can we re-enter the game with a new character?]
[I'm glad you like it and really appreciate you joining in. Critical Failures will most likely kill a character off, depending on the situation and how much of bad luck you're receiving it could leave with you having a very severe injury or death. Once they are killed they're gone for good. You can still reenter the story with a new character. ]
[Oh my, I was gonna have Iska return to Rigel and have the crew in the next thread meet her son, but only time will tell.] Iska had done what Yanim had instructed and was analysing a bit of webbing from the cybernetics, trying to decrypt its mysteries. Having worked at it for hours she decided to take a break to visit the bar. Before exiting the engineering room she passed by Yanim, leaning down next to her workbench ; "Yanim want something from bar?" she asked with a small, friendly smile.
[Which begs the question: who here is burnt out and starting to lose interest? It's really important to decide if we could have more arcs in motion and more acts.]

It's not really important. ))
[Which begs the question: who here is burnt out and starting to lose interest? It would be nice if we could offload the people who don't play anymore though, in order to open up their roles. ))
[Im go as long as there are players to go with. As for the Arc, I feel it is important that we finish the whole Oracle Arc, but I also feel we should devote some of the time to individual character side-arcs. It's good both for variety and character developement. If people have ideas they should contact you. I would write and discuss more, but Im still in the army, but I get on leave thie weekend so I can disvuss more with you then.]

[The only roles that are limited to one person are Captain, Vice-Captain, and Head of Personnel/Security/Science/whatever. I might have to get Kr out since his player is long gone. Also Radley, there will be plenty of side arcs for character development. Oracle Arc is just the main quest.]
[Oh and about those side arcs, two characters could be the center of the same side arc, for example Iska and Dwan on the subject of Caldury/Bloodmagic or Yanim/Arthur for their conflict.]
[This boy right here is set for action.]
[I'm having fun, so more role play, please and thank you.] Varn had spend most of his free time, helping the crew train. There were a few more troublemakers, but thankfully the penalty square was enough to make them see the right way. Still though, he was concerned with Viper's long absence. She was still in her room, working on that personal project. "I'm a merc dammit, not some high-ranking officer in the army." Were the thoughts going through his head, while filling out paperwork. He asked the major if she had any personel she could spare to help defend the ship. He was still waiting for an answer. During the periods between training cessions, he paid Jeb a visit a couple of times. He needed to get some things off his chest. He told Jeb everything he had remembered during his sleep. The raid on the Naginata, the Trixina hotel trap and about his relationship with his ex. He saw that Jeb was taking notes, but he never paid it any mind. Otherwise he still did whatever he did on the ship. Patrol, train, go to the bar and work on his armor.
Kira filed her paperwork in her office, she could see at least one stack in front if her. She hated the sight, she made attempts to train the Archius personally but her schedule prevented her from doing that. She noticed the messages Varn gave her about requesting personnel to defend the ship. She made a frustrating sigh, activating her holo pad
Temporarily Head of Security, I have noticed your request to send in personnel to defend the ship. I understand your reasonable explanation so I am inclined to send in people.
Lion clapped his hand as the photograph was printed out successfully. He then made a fake wooden frame in which he put the photo in. After that he nailed a small brass plate to the bottom where he inscribed the words "Rigel - Screecher Queen Hunt - Archius & Co." He quickly went up to the bar and dropped it off alongside a note telling Dwan to put it wherever he wish. As he was walking back to the armory, Lion halted as he detected an intrusion in the Archius system. "That's not good." Whoever it was had been quick, the intrusion ahd only lasted a couple of nanoseconds and there were no traces left in the system. Lion, still standing in the corridor, made an attempt to find the source of the intrusion. There. A signal. It was faint. It was on the base. He quickly sent a message to both Jeremy and Varn: "Trouble. Meet me in the armory. Urgent."
Jeremy snoozed at his desk table, barely hearing the faint beep underneath his armpit. He struggled to open his eyes, seeing words. "Trouble. Meet me in the armory. Urgent." The Captain let out a great big yawn, having a great time "last night" He went straight to the armory, hoping this wasn't a bad situation. But the word trouble sparked it wasn't gonna be good.
Varn was busy working on his armor. He had found some interesting things about the prototype. Something called the "life preserver". An on-board AI with limited access to the armor. It was designed to control the armor in case the wearer was unconscious. It would control the armor and carry the wearer inside to the nearest hospital or medical center, while administering medicine if there was any present. He just needed to find a safe way to turn it on, without freaking out anyone on board. That's when he received the message from the major. He wrote a responce. "Thank you ma'am. Any help you could spare will be greatly appreciated." Then came Lion's message. "Uh, oh. Not good." He quickly put on his armor and went to the armory. "Whats the problem, Lion?"
Lion nodded as both Jeremy and Varn entered the room. "Good, you're here. Come with me." He gestured towards the workshop. As the trio entered, Lion locked the door. "Archius might've been compromised. The plus of being a robot is that I can multi-task a whole lot better, meaning that I keep tabs on all secuirty systems, cameras, sensors etc. while I go on about my daily life." He paused and looked around the room before looking at Varn and Jeremy again. "Several minutes ago we had a intrusion in our secuirty system. For a few hundred nanoseconds someone tapped into our system. They left no trace. I am currently tracking the signal. It's onboard the station."
"Hmm, are you sure it's not coming from me? I recently found out about this AI that's in the armor. It's dormant, but you never know. "
Lion shook his head. "No, it's a third part entity. Right now the only signatures I can sense are Andronicus, DomeEval, my own and the other signal."
(hey, we should be careful about killing characters off, else we could end up with a whole new cast. It seems too easy to die. I've only been here a short while and I've seen many people have critical failures. So maybe we could do this: 1. Have a limit on character deaths for every encounter/mission 2. Have the risk of death be higher or lower depending on the situation (low risk: would need to roll one or two multiple times, medium risk: would need to roll one or two one time, or three twice, high risk: roll any critical failure) 3. Have some way to save people in certain situations these are just my suggestions though)
[You're not gonna die in one critical failure, it builds up depending on the situation. Say you have a critical you get heavily injured, a second time you're severely injured now would be a good time to quit combat and retreat but you refuse, third you're dead it's simple. Three strikes and you're out kind of thing, I'm gonna have to improve that, maybe more.
(Okay, that seems more balanced than what I thought you were saying, thanks for larifying)
(So Doomeval, what happened with me using the left over samples of the tomato? Experiments are probably complete since a huge time skip.)
Lion shook his head. "No, it's a third part entity. Right now the only signatures I can sense are Andronicus, DomeEval, my own and the other signal."
"I see. Can you narrow down the location of the intruder?"
Lion stood silent for a few minutes. "It's not onboard the Archius. It's on the station." He turned to Jeremy. "You should alert the Major, whoever it is the signal appear to be hitch-hiking on the stations' datafeed."
(So Doomeval, what happened with me using the left over samples of the tomato? Experiments are probably complete since a huge time skip.)
[Not my call, do whatever you want with them] Jeremy sat in shock and realized the disaster that could lead them to any mess. "Alright I'll get back with some help!" Jeremy hurried out of the ship, taking the lift down to the hangar bay.
"Alert me if anything else happens. After the assassin I prefer not to take any chances." Varn exited the workshop and went back into his office. He took off his armor and placed the pieces back on the table he had moved in. He noticed he had received a message. It was from the head engineer in charge of HarkArk's armor division.
Mr. Merner, were glad you got in contact with us regarding the AI in your armor. We are very proud of Project Guardian Angel and would appreciate your assistance in further development. The AI in your armor should pose no threat to you or the rest of the crew as long as you keep it shackled to it. Unshackling the AI will give it further capabilities, such as operating weapons, machinery etc., but we aren't sure what would happen if it get's "free". So we advise caution, if you choose to unshackle it. Another thing, it should be able to interface with your ship's AI for better communication, allowing your crew-mates to see what you see through an on-board camera. That's all for now. Should you have further questions, ask us. The password to activate it is Gabriel. just tell your Ship AI to run that protocol. Head engineer I. Clark
Well, that was new. Varn send a message to Lion. "Lion, just a head's up. You may get another disturbance from inside the ship." he leaned over the table. "Let's try this out then. DomeEval, do you detect the AI in the armor? If yes, run prtocol Gabriel."
[[so are we still hiding out or are we back in space?]]
[Still hiding.] Lion did a quick salute as Varn was about to leave the room. "Aye aye." He then began preparing some weapons he had been working on, hoping to begin the finalization of their construction-phase. He picked up an elegant sword and placed it on his workshop desk. He inscribed the lionshead symbol at the bottom of the hilt before weighing the sword in his hands. Lion smiled. "This'll make Dwan happy." Varn then sent a quick message over the communicator. "Understood Varn."
