Chief Engineer Kr'Fernir walked across the halls, coming through the lift as he walked towards the bridge. He held the Captain as an incompetent fool that has no idea what he was doing. He finally wondered what he wanted him for. He spotted Jeremy standing there like a sitting pole, hands behind his behind.
"Captain, what exactly do you want me at this time?" He almost asked him in an insulting matter. Jeremy shook his head in disappointment and stared at the alien with contempt for what he was about to do.
"Kr', it comes to my attention that your duties as Chief Engineer of this ship have became low standard to this profession that requires absolute efficiency among you and your workers. I have no choice but to relinquish your position as Head of Engineering."
The last sentence alerted Kr's temper to the maximum, he was clearly furious at the Captain's choice of actually having the balls to demote him with no explanation but his so claim he wasn't participating with his workers enough. This was an outrage and Jeremy was seeing that already from the look of his expression.
"How dare you to claim I'm inefficient to this vessel. Have you completely become so incompetent that you don't know what you're doing?! I am surprised that people have not revoked your position as Captain already!" He shouted out. Jeremy didn't flinched a muscle from his outburst, for he wasn't doing anything but making a fool out of himself.
"I'm incompetent? Who communicates with his fellow crewmates? Who demonstrates absolute participation and went planetside to protect his crew? Who listens to his crewmates for strategic advise and alternative decisions? You may pin the blame on me for my terrible communications skills and poor decision choices back on Bruta but I have grown, mistakes were made yes but at least I know now that being a Captain is important than ever right now." Jeremy questioned, it was true his lack of ability to lead was lackluster but that was simply a month ago. Jeremy improved on his techniques and as of now is trying to keep this crew together by all means.
"What exactly have you been doing for the past month? I've heard some scenarios about you from other coworkers that you've haven't been apart as a team lately. How you've shown no share and no ideas to spread how we can improve on this ship. Your responsibly as a Chief Engineer has demolished to the point that I believe you have lost faith in this crew."
"Captain, I AM saving lives for the better of this crew! Are you completely blind?" Kr asked.
"Evidently not, which traces back to my first point: what exactly have you done to help this crew out after since we've departed on Day 1?" Jeremy insisted to pressure him. Kr went silent at the question. It seemed like a while before he gave an answer.
"I see that you have no idea what decision you are making here Captain. It is clear that you cannot be trusted as the head of command on this ship. I pity the workers on this ship to have a leader that is utterly terrible at his job."
"Your pre-mature babbling won't do good here Kr', I hereby relinquish your position as Chief Engineer."
Kr immediately turned and went out of the room. Jeremy sighed and needed to file a postion opening for the Engineering Crew.
Yanim sneered at Varn's comment about the major. She hadn't really thought about what the meteor base would be doing if the Archius wasn't parked in the middle of it.
"Small woman can deal with it," replied Iska.
Yanim added, "at least we can all b-be miserable t-together." The three raised their drinks in agreement. "Hope we land s-somewhere s-s-safe s-sometime- akha! I am t-tired of this s-stutter already."
"Well we can't do that," Varn replied satirically. "Otherwise we couldn't even call this work."
While they laughed at each others jokes, a notification chimed on Yanim's tablet. She read the subject line several times before realizing what she was actually seeing. "Shtyka! <Listen!> 'Attention: engineering p-position opening - head engineer.' What happened?" Yanim looked at Iska, but she was just as surprised.
Pippin shook his head at how awful things had turned out. He tried to get rid of the paint before it dried.
Arthur wiped the sweat off of his brow. His work was finally complete, and he couldn't be more proud of his newest creation. He needed someone to show it off to. As he thought, a message came up through his ship communicator. He grabbed it and read. Arthur could not help but cringe at Sledge's attempt at the English language, though the message got through clear enough. Arthur replied to him swiftly.
Hello, 'brother'. I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but if you're interested in becoming a test subject, then I'm more than happy to try and improve your strength through splicing and experiment. Perhaps cram some ape muscle in there, mmm... anyway, feel free to make your way down whenever you like. In fact, I have something to show you.

Arthur typed off his message and sent it off, as his excitement at the prospect of showing someone outside of the science team his work grew.

Iska wondered a while about what Yanim had said.
She raised her bottle to take swig but paused, smiled and lowered it. She ruffled Yanims hair; "What now, chief?" she told her, with her signature 'fucking with Yanim' grin.
As Lion waited in Major Greenes office, he begun thinking about his past and how he had told Dwan and Pippin about. What if he could control the flashbacks? He thought he'd give it a try and as he did, he thought back to the events that took place on Mars...

"Tanks, ram down that barricade!" Yelled McKinze as the SDF forces reached the main gate. Despite having been blown up a few minutes earlier, some of the Creed soldiers had managed to pile up some scrap and sandbags for some primitive defenses.
There was no point though, as the five Guardian tanks that spearheaded the charge increased their speed and rammed straight through the cover and into the enormous entrance room. The room was indeed very spacious, several doorways öead to other areas of the fortress and row after row of balconies overlooked the hall.
Creed soldiers rushed to take up aim as the marines started to pour in behind the tanks. One of the Guardians fired away a small salvo of rockets, pulverizing one of the larger groups of fanatical militia soldiers.
Leon threw himself into cover behind the remains of a decorative statue, he aimed down his rifle and spotted an enemy marksman taking up position along a balcony. He fired off two shots and the soldier screamed in agony before falling down.
McKinze casually walked across the hall with his machinegun, letting out what could only be described as a thunderous sound as he sweeped entire balconies clean of enemies. "Push on you maggots!" He yelled.
Leon looked to his left and spotted Reed a few meters away, who had just finished beating down a fanatic with his rifle.
Suddenly a second way of marines rushed through the gate, screaming at the top of their lungs while joining the battle of the main hall.
Confident that his brothers in arms could secure the hall, Leon motioned for Reed to follow him as he went after McKinze and his two soldiers.

Sledge stepped into the lab almost immediately. "I came as soon as I could. Where do we get started? I wanna get this over with before I start having second thoughts."
Jeremy walked across the base hallways like a wandering fool, it didn't bother him that Kr threw a tantrum but rather something else occurred on his mind, Jeremy always felt like he was off distance from his family back on Terra. His mom was pretty much handling most of the life insurance business as his two sisters were traveling. Lori and Sam always wanted to go out to space, Jeremy figured it ran from his diseased dad who had a knack for alien artifacts.
When Jeremy was a boy he would always come up to see his dad in the weekends, he would always find the weirdest stuff across the system and traded. Jeremy spent a lot of time before his departure from Terra, later then his family eventually learned a major ship wrecking accident around Sol claimed his Dad's life. It was sad for the few years, but it only made him stronger by going to the academy in order to become a captain.
"Oof." He heard as he didn't know where he was going and walked into Kira. "Sorry, blacked out a min." Jeremy said as he saw Kira stand there. "It's alright. You needed to see me? It's only been 20 mins." She said, releasing some awkward silence. "Thought I'd be here early, I'm just finishing up some business, nothing big. How about you?" Jeremy asked
"Preparing some files, interrogating, feels like a Tuesday. It gets rather boring." She admitted, crossing her arms as she leaned on the wall.
"I can imagine. Hey you ever get home sick?" Jeremy asked out of the blue. The major widened her eyes for a sec only to narrow them shortly.
"Who doesn't? I tend to focus on my work rather have it pile up in my face all the time. Being here doesn't help much until we move out." She explained.
"Sounds like you stress a lot, I think it would be nice if you could go on leave." Jeremy suggested, she sighed but brightened at the sight of military leave. "Yeah, wonder what can I spend it on." She looked up. "Alien beaches, Tourist's Venture would be right at your alley, I tried it before." Jeremy said with a smile, which she gave one back. "I'll keep that in mind. Hawk." She got off from the wall and straightened her posture, turning her smile into an emotionaless frown. Both entered through her office and found Lion sitting.
Lion immeadiately rose up and saluted. "Captain, Major." He turned towards the Major. "Ma'am, I have been meaning to ask you for a small favor if that's okay with you."
Kira wondered what favor he wanted from her, she nodded. "Go ahead."
Frustrated and nto wanting to return to his bunk, Pippin put back his supplies and started looking around for Herc.
Arthur reacted to Sledge's quick entrance with a polite nod, and begin speaking.
"Hello Derrick. Before we begin, I've been positively bursting to show someone my newest creation. if you may, I shall bring him out, as an example of my abilities of splicing and genetic enhancement." Arthur told Sledge, as he quickly stepped into the medibay, and stepped out with a cat carrier in hand. He set it down on the nearest counter, and opened the cage door.
May I present to you, my greatest achievement to date... A feline, with the full intelligence and understanding of English that any average human being may have." Arthur finally announced his creation, as the cat strolled out proudly and leaped onto Arthur's shoulder. He nuzzled against the scientist affectionately, as Arthur nuzzled back.
"He's a Sphynx cat, bald as a baby's arse. Some may find this little critter repulsive, but I find him quite beautiful. Reminds me of me, in a way, heh. It's rather early days with his knowledge of the English language, but I imagine that he'll learn it at pace faster than most apes, even humans would. Faster than one of us in this room, I'm sure..." Arthur mumbled, as he pointed the Sphynx towards its made-up bed, the cat jumping off of his shoulder immediately and settling down for a lazy afternoon nap. Arthur gushed at the kitty.
"He's a masterpiece. A work of art. A pinnacle of forced evolution. I call him Snufflebuns." Arthur's mind wandered, but he forced himself to refocus on Sledge.
"A-alright. Now, I believe that we can start your operation immediately. Frankly, I'm a little scared at the prospect of you getting even stronger, but I fear you'd crush me if I were to decline my services. This would also give me a good opportunity to experiment on a human being that isn't screaming before I put him under anesthesia. I doubt you would understand what I'm about to do to you, so I'll give it to you straight; I'm going to make your arms and chest stronger."
"Do you have any thoughts before we begin?"
"What now, chief?" Iska asked, messing up Yanim's hair. The latter playfully tried to bat her hand away but lost her balance. The end of her cane made a loud clack as she planted it hard against the non-slip floor and steadied herself.
"I'll apply," she said, having taken a moment to get over the close call. "I might b-be a weak candidate," she joked, "but there's not m-much competition, you s-see."
"I said I'm fine." Viper said again with an stern voice to the guards as they were trying to get an closer look at Viper's current state before being stared down by the Sanghvi. Both sides taking a pause, standing for an moment as Viper started to breath heavily.
"Aright,...Sir" Jack said as he took an step back along with Jenette fallowing in behind. Jack waiting an minute for Viper to clam down. ""We just here for your protection and well being." He said as put his hands up."
Jenette smirked, tilting her head to side as Jack finished. "When are you going to start facing your inner demons before you fully crack?" Jenette said with an sarcastic tone, putting her arms cross and leaning up against the wall.
Viper was shocked by the soft-carbon's tone, taking an moment to stare at both of them before turning to overlook of the piles of scraps and miscellaneous objects scattered around the room.
Jack was visibly mad at Jenette for her outright disrespectful remark, he drop his arms down to his side and looked over to Jenette. "Sorry..Sorry, for my com- the other guard's...attitude." Jack hastily said as he grabbed Jenette's arm.
"Sir..We-we leave you be...Sir!" Jack said as the two left the room, the door closing behind them. leaving Viper to think over things in the dark as Viper's eyes slowly loomed over everything within the room. All the half-finished projects and hanged up metals and rewards from the past, felt cold and empty to Viper.
Lion brought out the ID tag he had recovered from the fallen Sol Marine on Gadon. "When I first touched down on Gadon and scouted the area I stumbled upon several deceased mercenaries, pirates and freelancers close to our, well, objective. Sitting against a pillar I found a marine from Sol."
He paused and looked Kira straight into her eyes. "As per tradition, I recovered his ID tag in hopes of them getting sent back to Terra."
He extended his arm, prompting for the Major to take it. "As a military woman I assumed that you would understand the importance of this and I hope that you will be able to fullfill this request."
Lion smiled. "It would be greatly appreciated."
Kira frowned and saw the tags sitting on his hand. She took it and realized this was one of many that have fallen. She stared at the tags and clenched it. The ill thought of this mans family either knows or doesn't. Kira thanked Lion. "I'll be sure to place it in Terra don't worry."
"Thank you Major." Lion then did a quick salute before he went back to the ship. As he entered the armory he sat down at his desk and begun writing reports on the various weapons he had done so far.

Sledge had watched in silence as Arthur had given him his spiel. The cat creeped him right the hell out, but he mustered a nervous grin so as not to cause offense. Arthur certainly seemed excited about this, so at least he wouldn't need convincing. Despite the sinking feeling in his stomach telling him not to trust this man under any circumstances, Sledge decided to trust this man with an extremely risky and experimental impromptu surgery.
"No questions here, doc. Give me some mad science-ass Hulk bulk."
Arthur smiled at Sledge's approval. He knew that the enforcer, along with most others aboard the ship would gladly trust him with their life in a pinch. Even Yanim.
"Good. Let us begin."
He led Sledge to the operating room, where Joseph awaited them. Arthur put Sledge under the knife, and began a complicated and almost pointless surgery process that the author of this post can't be fucked to detail.
"Now." Kira walked to her chair, sitting down as she clasped her hands together. "Your schedule was delayed a week before but now my superior is requesting you to leave the cache on this base. The Lt. General will be coming within an hour to brief you once he sees the piece. Jeremy raised his eyebrow as he wondered what will happened to them after this General takes a look then what?
"Wouldn't anyone notice that there's a fleet coming to this hidden base?" Jeremy asked.
"There are teleporters, highly expensive but affordable." She answered.
"So what about us after that? We return to Termina?" Jeremy was left answer less.
"Don't know, they only gave news that they were going to be here. Nothing else."
Jeremy agreed in the mean time they might be in for a big time military scenario.

As Sledge went under, a couple of things crossed his mind.
I probably should have talked to the captain about this.
Shouldn't I have fasted before this? I ate like a gallon of clam chowder before coming here.
I'm gonna have to buy new shirts probably.
I don't think Arthur washed his hands after touching that cat.

Seeing that Arthur's work was nothing more than just a cat with enhanced intelligence(which could be easily done by a medical student in a C class ) Joseph burst into laughter.
"Hahahahaha! Is zat ze best you could do?" Joseph laughed. " It's nuthzin compared to my other creations!"
Unlike the engineering bay, Yanim's cabin was totally pristine. She spent very little time in her own room, and usually only used it for sleeping and staying clean. Right now however, she wanted privacy. She sat down at her writing desk and began typing her application, beginning with her name. On all formal documents, kanads identify themselves with not only their name, but also their title if they have one, or their marker of practical documentation if they don't. This is to differentiate between different highbloods with the same name, an extremely common administrative headache among her people.
Name: Yanim Sidikan, SNCoS T/E Class of 2382
She knew it made little difference to Jeremy, but if the record of her employment is kept by HarkArk after the mission, there would be no way to prove her involvement without it. Her name without the MPD was practically meaningless due to the sheer number of Sidikan Clan girls named after Yanim the Justified, who deposed Capella Vor'Pangn the bloody in 2037...
She was getting side-tracked thinking about it.
Current Profession: Maintenance Technician
That was the easy part.
Explanation why you would be fit for the profession:
Yanim thought about how to address the final section and made several attempts to begin writing it, usually starting with the phrase "I have," or "I am," but every attempt seemed conceited as the details piled up. She felt obligated to justify how a technician could suddenly leapfrog all the way to the top of the department however, so she reconciled the problems by removing all reference to herself and answering in bullet points.

* Currently undergoing bio-electrical augmentation surgery for increased on-the-job performance
...
When she was done listing her contributions, Yanim felt it unnecessary to list "hard worker" as one of her qualities. She sent the application before heading to the cafeteria.
Lion finished his reports and decided to check in with the rest of the crew. As he neared the cafeteria, he spotted Yanim.
He sat down next to her. "[So, you going to apply to the new position?]" He asked in Kanad.
"[Already have,]" she replied before eating a bit of sushi. Despite the braces, her hands were still trembling, although her speech was noticeably less choppy in her native language. "[We'll see what the captain thinks. I'm amazed this opportunity came up, just two weeks ago I was considering quitting this job.]"
Varn made a big grin, when he heard the news. "I'm willing to back either of you for the position, should the need for that arise. Now, if you'll excuse me, I believe our Turl'nir friend should be coming by any moment." Varn packed the armor in the case and waited for Kr' outside of the workshop. Didn't take long for him to hear the disgruntled noises, everyone was used to hearing, coming from down the hall.
"Out of my way enforcer, I have more important thing's to do, than waste time talking to you."
"That's head of security to you Kr'. And you now need to start pulling you wight around here."
Kr' was speechless at first. "First the captain shows to be an incompetent buffoon and now you, the man in charge of protecting our lives, reveal yourself to be just as idiotic!"
"Really? Well, I guess my idiocy originated around the time I let you skip training with the other's because you had "important work" to do. You didn't! Everyone in engineering can confirm that you just sat around and did almost nothing for the past 3 weeks. So, now we make up for lost time. Meet me in the gymnasium tomorrow, so I can be sure that you are physically prepared for the Crimson son."
Kr' sneered at Varn "I'll do no such thing, human. I don't take orders from imbeciles!" And he stormed of to his quarter's. Varn just shook his head.
He went down to his office and placed the armor back in its place. He expected Kr' to be stubborn, but not to outright refuse to cooperate. He noticed that there wasn't anything calling for his attention and that he had some free time. Maybe some alone time. He went up to the Living quarters and sat down in front of the TV. "Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the Galactic wrestling championship. Tonight we have the champion Leock Brasner defend his tittle against Gatzsplitta and more to come..."
"[Already have,]" she replied before eating a bit of sushi. Lion patted her on the arm. "[Don't worry, I think you're more than qualified for the position.]"
Arthur snarled at Joseph.
"Quiet down, boy. This cat has more intelligence in its right paw than you have in your entire body. When I experiment, I experiment to create beauty and a better quality of life for all involved. When you do it, It involves the patient killing himself after the operation, or dying on the operating table. Insult my work again, and I'll see to it that you wake up missing an eye." Arthur spat to the kraut.
