Viper was uncomfortable with Varn's response, unknowing where his loyalties lied. Viper has had many experiences with private military contractors, most ending with escalation of an conflict and in their pockets.
The Boom marines were no different then any of there competitors or allies, all too willing to push old friends out of an air lock for a hand full of credits.
However, Viper attention was caught as an sudden felling that the Sanghvi hasn't felt in an long time ringed within the Viper's head.
It was an strange and rather painfully yet calming feeling that filled Viper's mind, Struggling to remember when the Sanghvi felt it before turning to see the new member of the Science team come from the ship's ramp.
Viper remembered right then and there that it was an presence of an Void-melded or an pskyer as some Terrans call them and was the new crew member aboard the Archius XI.
The Implant showed that Void one's shell was that of an small soft-carbon, one fitting the description of the Ayr race. It finished engaging with Jeremy and Lion before shaking Varn's forward appendage.
Viper could faintly listen in on the Void's one telepathy and begin focusing on to communicate with the Ayr though their natural way.
"An temporarily one." Viper said to Nycho in response to her question though an rough and primitive method telepathy.
[As I told Viper on steam, Iska will leave sometime during the Oracle arc to make a return later. This is where Nycho will begin to play a major roll, and become my main character.
But to be honest, I've run aground with Iska at the moment, so I will use Nycho in space where I plan something for Iska.]

Nycho turned to the Sanghvi. Their minds formed a bubble in the void where they could communicate.
"By haruud, a live sanghvi, a child of the asteroids." Her eyes widened as she looked up on the lifeform towering over her. Nycho took a moment to appreciate what she saw, and then pondered the sanghvis earlier dialog. "In what regards 'temporary'?" she proclaimed in a puzzled tone.
As some people were busy interacting with the new crewmates Jeremy and Harken Saw went to the engine room where a couple of his men pulled up the equipment and plugged it in to the engine's electronics.
"Are you updating the engine's calibrations for more efficiency?" Jeremy crossed his arms as he watched Harken Saw take off his suit jacket and rolled up his sleeves. "More than that. Giving it some new tricks up its sleeve. You there, install the machine in any empty slot." Harken pointed to the engine.
The coworkers nodded and began to plug the compact machine into one of the compatible slots. It took a couple of minutes of careful wire pulling and installment around the engines but in due time was worth it. Harken Saw was busy tweaking the electronics into the system and tapped into a systems chart that appeared.
"DomeEval, update the systems on this ship. Once that is done reboot all systems." Harken Saw commanded. "Affirmative Mr. Saw." Harken Saw turned to the Captain. "This will take a minute." Turning away as the percentage increased.
Iska walked up to Jeremy and Harken.
"Mr Saw, new engine capabilities, do they mean anything for the hardware engineering division?" she asked with uncertainty in her voice "Iska and Yanim, maybe Chief of engineering, would like to know".
Yanim walked up besides her, Iska acting like some kind of powerbeacon for Yanims recovering form.
As he cleaned the lab, Arthur heard the message over the speakers. He decided to head to the engine room, cat on his shoulder.
He arrived to an interesting sight; a couple of new crew members, one of such looking like he tore himself right out from a Chinese cartoon. Arthur resolved to introduce himself to both.
"A good evening to the both of you. My name is Arthur Beasley; Doctorate, Geneticist, Head Scientist aboard this ship. Your names?"
Nycho quickly turned around and faced Arthur.
"Doctor Beasley, I am Nycho of the house Shayus. Recently employed as psionicist and astroarchaeologist." She shimmed, "As you say you are the head of science then I will without a doubt be working under your supervision, correct?"
"What..What I meant is that..." Viper tired to say though the Sanghvi's own telepathy but was beginning to be overwhelmed by the void-one's psychic linking, the feelings that Viper felt at that moment were very alien and strange but yet very smoothing to Viper's tied mind as the void-melded put the Sanghvi's mind in an state of Stasis with her own.
Viper struggled to remain focus on conversation, trying to say something only to lose it in an sea of thoughts. Yet Viper tied to not lose sight as the Void-one walked closer to Sanghvi.
"I'm meant to say that Varn is just Head of Security for until I recover. " Viper yell out hastily to Nycho before knelling down to rest for an moment within their psychic bubble.
Lion broke away from the group and went for the armory, seeing as he still hadn't finished that sword entirely.
He sat down, unsheated the sword and began using a sharpening laser to smoothen out the edges of the blade.
Lion began playing around with his decorative laser, adding some symbols he once saw on the front of a book lyinga round in the bar.
To be completely honest he had no idea what they meant, just that their artistic shapes made the blade much more elegant.
He opened up a channel to Dwan. "Hey Dwan, just finished working on something for our next training session. Mind paying me a visit?"
"Sure.", Dwan said, replying to Lion's message. Dwan leaves the telepathic one's presence and went for the armory. "Heya. What did you work on?", Dwan asked Lion.
Arthur flashed a smile at Nycho.
"Indeed, and it's a pleasure to meet you Ms Shayus. I've always wanted to meet an Ayr. I know quite a bit about your race, though I've never seen Ayr DNA sequenced by any other race before. We might have to change that in the near future." Arthur stated in a polite manner towards the psychic, unflinchingly through the telepathy.
"You are correct. You will be working under me, most likely in and around the science labs by the lower deck. When you are finished here, I'll be more than happy to show you around the lab and the medibay. It will be nice to have a competent and serious scientist around here." Arthur stated, considering the new hireling's skills while twirling a finger around Snufflebun's head.
A sharp sound was heard as Lion cleaved air with the sharp sword. He looked up at Dwan and gave him a smile equal to that of a child with a new toy.
"I forgot how awesome it feels to swing an actual sword."
Lion then sheathed the sword and gave it to Dwan. "Meet the LWA Vibrosword Mark I. It's going to be your new best friend in melee combat."
He gestured towards the sword. "The grip is built in a durable yet relatively light alloy metal and features some padding for even better grip while using it.
The blade itself is made out of seven layers of thin nanometal organized into a microscopic hexagonial pattern that evens out vibrations caused by the air, by shocks, by hits and from parrying.
In other words: Lightweight and durable sword that adapts itself. Oh and I made it so sharp that you can literally cut through most armor and some shields if you're lucky."
Harken Saw didn't answer to anyone's comments as he stared into the percentage hitting 100%. A text spelling. "Warning: Please submit Password, Voice Recognition, and Biometric scanning to finish procedure." Harken Saw rolled his eyes as he submitted each one. The update was complete and gestured one of his workers to come towards him.
"I'm going to input a ship preset, get out of the ship and observe what will happen. Understand?" Harken Saw said to him. "Yes Mr. Saw." He saluted as he went out from the engine room. The worker went out the ramp far enough to see the Archius at the perfect view. He gleamed in excitment as he saw the Archius XI wasn't there but an average space truck you could see around any star system.
He needed to submit a video attachment along with his voice to confirm the procedure worked after so many test runs. "Mr. Saw the system is fully functional." He answered as he attached the picture. Harken Saw nodded with satisfaction as he turned to the crew. "Congrats Captain, your ship is now capable in stealth operations. See for yourself." Jeremy called bluff until he went in closer to the picture.
Dwan was flabbergasted. He couldn't believe that Lion actually made him a sword. He grabbed the sword by the grip and took a few swings to get a feel for the blade, smiling as he does it.
"Wow Lion, I don't know what to say. This is just great.", Dwan said. "I see the sword is more in style of olden nihonto-styled swords. Does the grip have the ability to deploy a guard and pommel if I used the sword more like, say, western swords?", Dwan asked.
Nycho's eyes squinted. "I look forward to working with you, Dr.Beasley".
Suddenly she heard the sanghvi break the silence in the void. She looked back and saw that Viper had kneeled into the bubble. Her attention quickly turned to Arthur. "If you'll excuse me, I was in the middle of a discussion with this rare and astounding individual". Nycho bowed to Arthur and then went to sit in a meditating position in front of Viper.
She shimmed once more; "You were the head of security before Mr.Merner? How come your posts are now exchanged?" She studied the sanghvi and noticed dark fragments in Vipers mind.
She narrowed her eyes, "Perhaps you do not wish to elaborate?" she concluded in a consulting tone.
Dwan was flabbergasted. He couldn't believe that Lion actually made him a sword. He grabbed the sword by the grip and took a few swings to get a feel for the blade, smiling as he does it.

"I'm glad you like it." He pointed towards a tiny button at the top of the hilt. "If you click on that a small energy shield will protect most of the grip, it won't regrow cut-off hands though so keep that in mind."
He turned around and picked up a second sheath which he mounted to his hip. He then drew a near-identical sword and smiled.
"I forgot to mention that I did one for myself, can't let you have all the fun."
Aside from a minor change in size (Lion's sword was slightly bigger) and some different decorative symbols the sword was near-identical to the one in Dwan's hands.
"En garde!" Said Lion as he assumed a fighting position.
"Have at you!", Dwan said in response.
Lion made a move however Dwan was quick to parry him. Lion smiled and moved backwards a bit. "I forgot that you're better at this than I am." He said as they both started to move clockwise in a circle, swords at the ready.
Varn was stunned that Nycho actually wanted to talk to him. He was used to every Ayr to this point to try and avoid any communication. He tried to ask Lion something, but he was already gone. Varn decided to send him a message.
Can you build me a earpiece similar to your's? I'll need it if I wan't to talk to our new crew member.
As Dwan and Lion both moved clockwise in a circle, swords at the ready, Dwan was looking for an opportunity to "strike". Then, that opportunity came. He noticed that Lion had received a message. He waits to see if Lion will motion himself to see what the message is, because if he does, Dwan will make his move.
Viper learned inwards to the gifted soft-carbon, taking an moment to relax before resting the Sanghvi's crest upon Nycho's right shoulder.
"Yes..." Viper said to Nycho telepathy, much clearer then before. "To understand my problems, it would take...an more..in in-depth look." Viper said with concerned tone.
Viper raised her head to look into Nycho's eyes. "What you will find...will hurt."
Lion noted that he had received a message. He relaxed for a few seconds to fake dropping his guard before letting out a robotic scream as he rushed forward and did a quick downwards strike at Dwan.
Dwan was caught slightly off guard by Lion's tactic, but he was quick to react. He moved backwards slightly and moved his blade in for a block.
As Lions blade clashed with Dwans, he quickly moved slightly backwards before spinning, hoping to strike Dwan in the side.
Dwan was surprised that Lion would attempt a spinning attack, as that would leave his backside undefended. But then he remembered Lion was quick enough for that fact to be a non-factor. Dwan quickly moved his blade in for yet another block.
Lion was not prepared for Dwan to block so easily, as such his blade simply slid off and he was forced to retreat a small distance as to not lose any maneuverbility.
Dwan did the same as Lion did, keeping a distance from him. He prepared his sword as he waited for either an opening or for Lion's next move.
Lion made a leap, holding his sword with its tip forward so that he could perhaps trigger some kind of impulsive response from Dwan which could give Lion a brief moment of advantage.
Nychos eyes narrowed. "I've seen a lot of things during my travels and tried to come to grasp with the horrible things in this universe..." she paused, looking up to Viper. "But you seem to have lived more of it. I know the story of your people, but I do not think I am ready to comprehend it for myself." she stood up and put her hand on vipers talon. "Perhaps you could show me to my quarters and bring me up to date on the events that have unfolded durings this ships mission." she shimmed. "Perhaps talking about closer, more present things will help you come to grips with your past?". Granted, Nycho knew quite well that she was no cleric of the mind. Being the first person viper had met in a while to share the gift of the void, maybe this could aid in driving out the dark fragments.
Dwan leaped out of the way and waited for Lion to finish his swing. Lion, who expected some sort of impulsive response, didn't get it, as Dwan swinged his sword at Lion's sword, leading to both blades touching the floor. It stays that way for a few seconds before Dwan retracted his blade. He sheaths it, as he puts his hand forward for a handshake.
Lion smiled and shook Dwans hand. "Thanks for the duel. Don't forget to keep that blade sharp."
He then opened up a direct channel to Varn. "I have something, it's a chip with the same function. Just drop by and I can adjust it to work with your armor."
