Incase anyone's wondering what that giant ass stone thing is east of spawn, it's my WIP nuclear power plant (Desert Point). Starting reactor is built, but it's not full size yet and I haven't gotten around to setting up the wiring. If all goes well, I should be able to ship power back to spawn.
edit:
If big reactors ever adds negative effects to radiation buildup, I'd HIGHLY suggest staying away from the place. With my luck, it'll end up being Chernobyl 2.0.

Negative effects will probably not be coming to 1.7 at this point.

Windmill powerrrrr. (not much but still)
Immersive engineering is cool but it takes a fuckload of resources and no real means to collect those resources aside from tools and machines that already take a fuckload of resources to build/fuel in the first place.
Yeah, I'm just using the windmill(s) as a source of early game power for now, I'll probably fiddle with it more at a later date.
ARock82 if you could, been looking for an infinity server for a while now.
In the process of making powerlines off the NPP. I'm going to wait until I get high voltage crap before heading @ the spawn region so that the amount that gets there is usable.
Can you whitelist me again?

Thanks
I need to figure out a new way of creating power, these windmills aren't nearly cutting it.

The waterwheel isn't a terrible way to make power, if you can get the improved windmills they are a lot better then the lower tier ones. Unfortunately both methods really intend for you to have a whole farm of them for making any significant power.
Is I can be whitelisted again? (Sgt_Doom)
Server might benefit from a 12-hourly reset, if you can set that up.

Couple of questions for people;
Has anyone got any rubber tree saplings (preferably MFR) to spare? If so, can you throw some in the trading ender chest. Would appreciate it.
Anyone got a good source of ender pearls yet? Because I'm quickly being limited by Nether supplies(easy enough) and ender pearls.

Easy way to get ender pearls would be to go to spawn and get some from Jejunum's linking book to the End. At some point I'll probably put a bunch of looting swords in a chest somewhere, maybe.

added an event for the server to restart every 12 hours and notifications every minute 5 minutes before going down. no idea if it'll work or not since I'm not able to execute these events manually so it might not be perfect. I think the server restarting works but I have a feeling the notification of the restart will display 55, 56, 57, 58 and 59 instead of 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1. no idea yet
FYI the current spawn location is underwater.
Server down?
Server down?
looks like the server went down for a restart but never actually got around to starting back up. I'll remove the trigger for now and instead manually restart once things get laggy.
Server's getting some intense lag again, not sure why. I was pottering around in my base for a good 30 minutes before the lag started.

After you left the lag disappeared, so it must be something in your base.
or maybe it's just running of of RAM

Hrm. That's really annoying, because now I'm gonna have to figure out what's causing it.
Ok so now that I've grown tired of the resource-massacre known as Desert Point Nuclear Power, I'm in the market for new mods within the pack to play with. Can anyone recommend a few less-used mods within infinity that are fun to play with? I'm up for everything from magic to gardening.

Which mods have you actually played with in depth?
If anyone's got sand they don't want, i'll have it. Setting up machines to make the stuff, but fairly slow-going atm.
A couple of enderpearls so I can make an enderthermic pump to drain the lava around my home would also be nice. Got a little bit of the usual metals and stuff to offer.
Which mods have you actually played with in depth?
I've gone a decent bit in depth with Tinkers, big reactors, buildcraft and a small bit of immersive engineering (although I could dive a good deal deeper).
edit: I've also gone in depth in other mod packs into the twilight forest but I wouldn't mind going there again. I haven't touched any magic related mods.
Then give Ender IO, Applied Energistics 2, Mekanism, or Thermal Expansion/Dynamics a shot.

Forgot to mention that I've used thermal expansion a good deal but AE, Ender IO and Mekanism look promising.
Mekanism isn't in this pack iirc. I usually add it myself for SP.
EnderIO has the best cables for RF power transfer iirc, but the requirement of ender pearls for many of the higher-tier recipes is an absolute arse.
Oh right, I remember late game resource gathering being a bitch in this pack due to the lack of the digital miner. Unless you set up 4 or 5 quaries.
Sand problem has been solved, so gonna start on prettying up my desert lair. Also scrounged up enough pearls for an enderthermic pump. What's the most compact method of storing the largest amount of liquid, other than bedrockium drums? I use regular drums and the pump to clear out lava pools in the way of building, but already gone through three of them and don't quite want to just get rid of it's contents.
