The Imperial Colossus: A Warhammer Rogue Trader RP

The Infiltrator trekked along with the Magos to their home far away from home, and upon seeing the machinery work away as servitors worked tirelessly on the job of upkeep, it warmed the remnants of his human heart. "Glorious. It has been... too long since I have witnessed such marvelous industry."
With the scratching stopping, and the sounds of lumbering footsteps filling his ear... holes? Eur'i decided to take the first thing he could grab hold of and high-tailing it out of the kitchen. He'd rather suffer the worst that Gue'la cuisine has to offer, rather than converse with one of those brutes, if he's able. Muttering a curse under his breath, the pathfinder looked to what he had grabbed after making it into the living room.
...Grox... nuggets? A... curious name, but it seemed to be meat of /some/ form. Cautiously, he took a piece from its box, bringing it up to his mouth... smelled fine, at least... tasted fine, too. Bland, sure, but better than whatever bush meat that the Ork had considered cooking up. Probably would be better hot, though.
(oh boy time to go to bed)
Kelrys observed as the Tau scrambled out of the kitchen, clutching a food item in his hands. She assumed one of the Orks had arrived and was about to prepare a meal. She watched as the Tau tried one of nuggets from his newly aquired box, and seemed to enjoy it. He was still eating raw food, though. Unhealthy.
She decided to check out what they had for food herself, almost gliding into the kitchen with quiet footsteps.

"Yes...the sight of the vessel's heart beating, It calms the soul," Thall commented to Thaddius, they slowly walked past the various industrial servitors working outside in the engineering areas, sometimes being carefully guided a Transmechanic. Each of these mindless drones took a different shape and configuration to match their purpose. Much of this work has been done as part of regular maintenance for a mighty vessel such as the Everlasting Avenger.
These compartments were filled to the brim with pipes and cabling of varying sizes, occasionally these crammed pathways would open up to reveal enormous rooms full of complex apparatuses and banks of cogitators, each one of these holy creations of the machine god were being carefully tended by a large array of Enginseers. For this was their singular duty, to brave through the endless labor within this massive labyrinth of vast machinery, to ease the burdens that the machine spirits must endure daily for Mankind to exist.
Throughout this stunning display of the Omnissiah's fatefully and their operations within this sector of the ship, Thall and Thaddius had finally reached the beginning of the factoriums at the end of this side of the lower chambers of the vessel. There, stood two members of the Skitarii, Protector class. Each one of them stood proudly at large vault bearing the symbol of the Mechanicus. Similarly their drawn weapon, that of an elongated stave, also bared the symbol. These staves nearly stood as tall they did, which was nearly that of a unarmored Astartes.
These Skitarii Protectors held their staves with one hand and had their off hand at their side with legs spread out. They seem to be closely guarding the entrance to the engineerium that laid at the end of this wide hallway.
Yet, both of these honorable guardians begun to bow at the sight of Thall and Thaddius's approach. Opening the large, reinforced vault that sealed access to engineerium from the rest of the level shortly after.
"Thank you. Peerless warriors of the Omnissiah for your eternal to him. Blessed be all those who serve under his gorgeous light." Thall greeted them before they entered into the greater hub of the engineerium.
Thall paused for a moment after arriving in the hub. Suddenly, twisting to face Thaddius. "I'm sorry Thaddius but I must depart momentarily, we will continue our talks later. You may check out the enhanced factoriums in my absence."
The Magos stated to Thaddius before heading towards his own personal forge.
Snugbuz slithered and slunk his way to the icebox pulled anything and everything that even closely resembled meat plunked it in a pot and set it to simmer, with a smile most sinister he called out.
" STEWS ON BOYZ! I hope you're hungry because Snugbuz cooks it up right propah!"
Seeing as everyone is heading to the kitchen for one reason for another, Khrak also heads over.
Leaning against a wall he says, "Since we are all going to be here for a while, introductions might be good. I am Khrak."
Finally getting a closer look at everyone he sees that the tall human is not a human at all and the Tau is from the "traitorous" Farsight Enclaves. Not that it matters at this moment, as far as the kroot is concerned his loyalties lie with the humans for now. It does strike him as strange that this rogue trader would take aboard some orks and an eldar would come aboard the ship.

"I believe it was a type of fish. Anyway, greetings to you both. I am Kelrys." stated the Eldar, as she observed Snugbuz's cooking.
Despite seeing such sights for nearly a thousand years now, Thaddius would always have a sense of awe toward the setting and tasks he and his brothers dedicated themselves to. He sight-sees with his head facing forward, his radial vision allowing such luxuries before they come to the engineerium - the beating heart of this section of the ship. "Praise be to the Omnissiah." Thaddius added to Thall's blessed greeting, clanking his way past the two honored guards.

"No apolgies necessary, Magos. In times of peace you are a far busier man than I shall ever be." he replies. "I will get myself acquainted with the machine spirits here, then perhaps pay a visit below deck to check up on our Xenos... associates. Do not feel rushed in your important work, for I am sure we will meet again."

The kroot shrugs. "It might not be a fish but I doubt the humans will keep anything inedible in here. They don't like us but I don't think they would leave things here that would kill us either."
Mikaela sat down, staring at space and lifting a finger to the screen. Her trusted aid, Siôr stood beside her ever since she was a little girl. As a Seneschal Sior was in charge of the logistics within the Dynasty.
“Darow said that there's great technologies within the Sherylwood. Tech the Admech would pay handsomely for.” She clenched her hand, smirking. Sior sighed, hands behind his back. “You know, there are other less dangerous interests than scavenging. Mikaela nodded, staring at her coffee table. “I suppose you're right Sior but the profit...”
“Greed cannot recover losses you know.” Sior pulled up new opportunities for the Colossus with his dataslate. Mikaela raised her eyebrows while Sior gave a smile. “These should be interesting for you I hope you'll take notice of our surroundings.”
“Right.” Mikaela picked up the slate, inspecting the contents of vital importance based on events in Constante.
“At the end of the day, it's your choice. Your father wouldn't be so lenient I can tell you that.” Sior remarked, attending his duties to his chambers. Meanwhile Mikaela had some thinking to do, she stared at the information, questioning which was a better investment. There were at least three.

The game will include missions that can be voted by the players. Each set of missions vary in tone and situation. After each mission will impact the state of Constante and gradually set a reputation for the Colossus. Plan out your votes with other players and decide what adventures will the Colossus take on.

The Sherylwood: Mikaela of House Amea has received info about a derelict ship floating across the Constante Sector, the Sherylwood. The Sherylwood is said to process a mysterious technology of the Adeptus Mechanius. What hides behind the abandoned vessel can prove to be a dangerous weapon given to the foolish and arrogant. With no fleet taking advantage of the rich opportunity, the Colossus sets out to enter through the heart of the unknown.
Dark Wanderers: In the outskirts of an unaffiliated Human colony the Colossus are placed in a position to bargain with the people of Baldur. Unaffiliated the Colossus have the ability to place the planet Covenant under the protection of the Imperium. However, a series of incidents have claimed several lives of the colony, sparking an investigation. As several groups settle to discover the roots, what may be a developing settlement hides a terrible revelation that can prove the Colossus's undoing.
Orky Road: Near Ork Territory is a desert backwater planet known as Manticore governed by one of the Warboss's lieutenants. A few years ago the Thresh Bones have looted fallen Imperial vehicles and have taken a liking to raid and obliterate Human colonies til the Imperial structures became ash. Now Manticore has attracted mercenaries, pirates and the foulest presence within Constante, promising everlasting fun and sport. Within the Ork's base is a massive Racing Dome welcome to the strongest. The Colossus intercepts to pull the biggest battle royale of the planet.
Felix rose as she approached, so that he could offer a polite bow. He made the sign of the aquila and smiled. "And blessings upon you, venerable Sister. I am Felix Aurelious, Missionary for the holy Ecclesiarchy. It is a pleasure to meet your acquaintance - I grew up alongside apprentice members of the Order of the Sacred Rose on my homeworld, Ophelia VII, and since then I have sadly not had the honor of meeting many more Sisters."
"The Sisterhood reaches far and wide, alas our numbers are not yet as numerous as those of our Battle-Brothers."
Said Katherina with a warm smile.
"It warms me that we will be accompanied by a Priest; to me matters of faith and spirit are just as important as matters of health."
She paused and observed him. "Do you have any experience with combat?"
She paused and observed him. "Do you have any experience with combat?"
Felix smiles faintly, the few scars on his face twisting the expression into an almost cruel one. "Eleven years with the Vostroyan 109th Firstborn. More than a few occasions working alongside other Guard forces, as well as local Arbites and PDF. I've... traveled a great deal. There are few places where violence is without. After all," he says, stroking his mustache, "the Emperor's work is never done."
Katherina smiled and nodded. "Impressive experience indeed." She paused and observed his face deeply, taking a long look at his eyes. This man was more than just a Priest of the Ecclesiarchy. There was something powerful about him.
Sister Sepherine was forced to remind herself not to stare for too long. She smirked and nodded once more.
"As you said there is always work to be done, for the Emperor expects nothing but near-perfection."

The missionary noted the lingering gaze of the Sister, but his face settled so that it was as expressionless as stone. The Sororitas had a reputation for zealotry - and that was something to admit coming from an ordained priest. Not that there was anything wrong with the ferocity and single-minded aggression of the church's most devout warriors. It served an important role in stemming the tide of corruption and heresy that was always crashing against the Imperial bastion. But it also could be a tiring thing to deal with.
"You speak the truth, Sister. Though I must ask - and do forgive me if this is impolite - but what brings you here by yourself? I've not met a Sister traveling alone before."
"Your question is not impolite Priest, but a valid one." Said Katherina.
"My order is a small one dedicated to locating and retrieving artifacts of value to both the Adeptus Mechanicus and the Imperium as a whole."
Katherina paused and sat down on one of the benches while motioning for Felix to do the same. "I find it easier to do this on my own while travelling amongst citizens rather than with soldiers. It provides me with a certain neutrality much like yours while also allowing me to pursuit leads and whispers directly."

Felix takes a seat beside Katherina, leaning his staff against his shoulder. "Artifact retrieval, you say? I understand your reasons for operating individually, then. While my primary mission is to simply attend to the faithful and the lost as I see fit, I also retain a certain amount of... awareness, when dealing with artifacts. In my case, I often seek things more akin to spiritual matters - tomes, doctrines, beliefs. There are many mindsets out there that are compatible with the Imperial faith, and I do what I can to foster these good morals. Of course, when I come across damaging material I do what I can to smother the life from it." Felix paused, glancing down at his robed left arm. He rubbed it gently, picturing the permanently burned claw mark lurking below the cloth from when a daemon had gripped him.
"You are clearly a venerable warrior, but I must also ask - have you the unfortunate experience in dealing with... daemons?" His eyes hardened. He was curious to know what the Sister did on this matter. Her experiance in chasing artifacts and whispers must certainly have brought something to her attention.
He needed to know.
Katherina nodded. "Several." Her face assumed a stern expressions. "Daemons are not uncommon encounters when scouring for artifacts on worlds at the very edge of the Imperium."
"My most recent encounter with one was on a smaller hiveworld, I dare not utter its name, where a heretical cult had located an artifact. This artifact was infact the piece of an ancient warp engine." Sepherine paused.
"I stormed their hideout flanked by two dozen arbites equipped for urban pacification. As we reached the inner sanctum of the hideout the cultist leader activated the artifact. It spawned a horrible creature of Tzeentch."
"After the cultists were consumed alongside two thirds of the arbites I managed to slay the beast, but not before suffering injury from it. I used a powerful blessing to enhance the weapon of the arbites captain whom used his shotgun to incapacitate the creature." Anger filled Sepherine's eyes.
"After putting a shot inbetween its hundred eyes the creature died. We burned down the hideout and the artifact was secured within a blessed lockbox."

Felix listened intently, his eyes alight with interest. Daemons fascinated him, and he desired to have a mastery over such creatures. He had more than a few... experiments... and was confident in his ability to handle some daemons, but of course anything too powerful would simply be able to swat him aside. Prayers, ancient words, holy symbols, and - he hated to admit such a thing to himself - warp sorcery were his tools. A radical inquisitor wouldn't bat an eye at his methods, but a puritan? He would be burned.
"That is quite a harrowing account," he said gravely. He didn't dare recount his most recent encounter with a daemon - it wasn't fit to be spoken to a Sister. Instead, he settled with his first. "I once had the misfortune of being upon a ship when the Gellar Fields malfunctioned. It was only for a second, but still an utter miracle that I and everyone else did not perish. There were no Arbite squads, bolters, or powered armor. Simply men, hiding in the dark while things stalked the hallways. Myself and some others... managed. Since then, I have made it a personal mission to steel myself - and those around me - against the vile corruptions of daemons."
He glanced down at the floor below him, and tapped his staff upon it. "I pray every time I get on to a ship that our Mechanicus brothers maintain the shields properly. But I am ready for the moment they fail. Always." His voice had taken on a near growl at that point.
"I cannot begin to fathom the horror of what you saw and felt." Said Katherina.
The sister placed a friendly hand on Felix's left shoulder. "If you wish I can teach you some spells and blessings of basic nature. After all, the Emperor provides."
The Rogue Trader was still intent on exploring the depths of the Sherylwood after being told of its technologies. She slowly nodded, extending her arm forward “Proceed to the destination by the slate.”
The navigators of the Bridge calculated the time needed to get there, harassing the power of the Astronomian to steer the cruiser's direction. Eventually the crew of the entire Avenger witnessed the particles of reality changing within their field as a source of the supernatural opened up the dimension of the Warp. Mikaela and several others held on to their seats tightly and became pale during these moments. The Rogue Trader nevertheless gained her composure and thought about other things. A devastating aura spawned, opening up currents for the Avenger. The Gellar Fields at the rear were kept active every time and maintained by the Mechanius daily.
The channel of the Warp engulfed the ship into its dimension, where the abnormal powers thrive and monstrosities crave.
Just as Thaddius was about to be on his way toward the lower deck to check up on those Xenos, he felt the ship lurch forward before every atom of its composure started to be pulled into the Immaterium, the realm beneath reality. Immediately, he drew his Arc Pistol and activated the power field on his sword, locking his feet in place as he rooted himself in the center of the engineerium.
He had experienced Warp travel before, he's had to given just how much he's traveled the galaxy in the hundreds of years he's spent abroad as a combatant for the Mechanicus. A single lapse in their shields could mean an insurrection of daemons appearing in any of the rooms within the enormous ship. Should that event occur, he would have to be ready to defend his brothers in the Cult before anyone else. The Xenos and rest of the crew would wait, for the Magos came first. The Infiltrator Princeps bowed his head in prayer, steeling himself for what may come.
Eur'i continued to-- albeit now somewhat unwillingly chew at his highly-processed, likely faux-meat products for a few minutes before the ship lurched forward, sending the unwitting xeno down onto his knees, and the food down to litter the floor. He muttered a further curse, picking himself up to see his rightfully-scavenged food laying on the ground. He salvaged what he could, tossing the [del]tendies[/del] pieces that fell too far from the box into the nearest trash reciprocal. Did the Gue'la really have nothing in the way to prevent that from happening? A scowl crossed his face once more as he sat down on the nearest far-from-comfortable chair, setting the box down on the ground beside his 'feet'.
Snugbuz was pissed off, the transition to warp spilled half of his stew.
"Zoggin' git ship spilling my stew I oughtta strangle the git "
Kelrys simply shifted her stance to prevent herself from stumbling and falling over during the shift into warp. The Ork spilled half his stew and was currently muttering a string of curses, while she heard the Tau in the next room had spilled his own food. The Eldar's method of long distance travel tended to be much calmer and faster, simply walking through one of the many doorways of the Webway. Though warp was much more useful for large armies, as you could only fit so many at one time through a doorway.
Khrak almost falls to the floor but catches himself as the vessel enters the warp. Warp travel is still a new thing for this kroot, having been used to the Tau's faster than light drives.
"Human travel is safe, yes?" He says with a hint of concern in his voice. Rumors may be rumors but that doesn't stop them from being true at times.
The jump pushed Rowbutt to land on his face as he was in deep thought. He took this as a sign. "Right Boss!" He got up, and started to walk towards the kitchen. The boss clearly wanted him to be ready for the next great fight.
The Tau, now somewhat dejected from his food, decided to get up and join the rest of the xenos party, corralling in the kitchen for some reason. He poked his head in through the door, looking about at the motley band. "Is this a preparation for Tau'Kon'She, or something?" He asked soon after stepping in, trying his best to ignore the positively vile stench that assaulted his mouth, permeating from whatever the greenskin was cooking up.
Katherina remained unfazed by the jump. She grimaced slightly before handing Felix a small book prayers designed by the Sisterhood to double as protective wards and spells. "This should suffice for now. Beware though, I only have one additional copy."
