"Yes the Adeptus Sororitas is correct. We have a few to spare for the Eldar when it comes to void suits and the Tau. While it is uncommon we spare them the equipment if their kind proves necessary."
"I am Kelrys. And indeed we shall." replied Kelrys. She almost seemed to float over, inspecting the equipment that the Imperium had provided for their use.
Kelrys simply observed, already geared up for the most part. She simply pulled down her hood, revealing the faded yellow helmet she wore, and shifted the long rifle slung onto her back. A shuriken pistol sat on her hip for the close quarters encounters inside the vessel. She watched the others deal with their equipment, before meeting the gaze of one of the humans watching them. She studied him for a moment, sizing him up. Probably one of those Imperial Guard troopers. Her eyes then traveled to the Sister of Battle that they had met earlier, before returning to the others.
Felix met the Eldar's eye without wavering. So these are the Xenos we shall work with, he thinks, looking over those already gathered and the few still coming in. He watches the Kroot for a moment, having never seen one in person, and then glances at the Tau warrior which just entered. This one seemed a bit more stand-offish, and Felix supposed for good reason - usually. A lot of Imperials were not kind to xenos. He, however, wasn't going to start any sort of brawl or theological debate. Probably.
"Understood. Thank you." Said Katherina, before bowing her head. She then followed Felix over to the equipment. She already had a helmet of her own and thus only grabbed a simple thrusterpack which also carried enough oxygen for a couple of hours. She didn't expect to fare well in the cold deep of space either way. "Are you ready?" She asked Felix. Before he could answer Katherina noticed Kelrys's gaze. She nodded, hoping that perhaps the Eldar would feel inclined to initiate a dialogue.
"I think so. I'm familiar with close quarters engagements, though I am less experienced in zero gravity environments, should it come to that. For nearly a year I worked alongside some Arbites in orbit, blessing cargo and inspecting vessels. I wore a voidsuit then for protection, so I know my way around this thing," he says, glancing down and patting at his chest. "Not very comfortable, I'm afraid." Once more he glances back at the gathered crew and xenos. "When things get settled, I'll lead us in prayer before we set off. I think it would be fitting to take pledges, though I have no paper and wax to issue any seal. Perhaps afterwards if anyone shows some particular gallantry, it would be fitting to reward them with a blessed purity seal."
She the nodded towards both Kelrys and Eur'i. "I am Sister Sepherine but you may refer to me as Katherina. I believe we will be working together for quite a while."
"And I am Felix Aurelious, Missionary of our Lord the Emperor's Ecclesiarchy. It is a... pleasure to meet you both," he says with a little nod.
With the more notable closeness of the two zealots, a small curse came from under Eur'i's breath before his head turned to face the two of them. "Shas'ui Vior'los Eur'i. Eur'i, as an abbreviation." He responded to the two with a nod, remaining as calm as he could, and, even coming off as rather cold to the two. "My suit should suffice, if we are not going to be in the void for too long of a time." He added, the glowing, contrasting red eye constantly shifting subtly between the two figures. He regarded the missionary immediately with more suspicion, especially at his... welcoming, demeanour. Pledges? Prayer? The Tau decided to make his stance known to the humans right then and there. He leaned forward some with a small step, eye steadily trained on Felix now. "Let me be clear, Gue'la. Enough of my race has already given their lives for farcical, dogmatic theology. I do not wish to join them." He noted, some of his more hot-tempered side showing through his voice.
"And I am Felix Aurelious, Missionary of our Lord the Emperor's Ecclesiarchy. It is a... pleasure to meet you both," he says with a little nod.
"Likewise." said Kelrys simply, as she found a void suit that would fit her. As she set her gear down and removed her helmet, she heard the Tau speak up.
"Let me be clear, Gue'la. Enough of my race has already given their lives for farcical, dogmatic theology. I do not wish to join them."
She glanced back to him, her appearance now fully exposed. Long black hair, bright green slanted eyes. "It would be wise to oblige our hosts, Eur'i. Unless you wish to find yourself reduced to a casualty."
The Infiltrator Princeps sat in the center of the room, choosing not to engage anyone in particular and not desiring to go out and arm himself considering that he already had his armaments on him. As well as... integrated into him. That did not stop his spherical awareness to latch on to every person or... creature of interest, the machine-man eerily silent as he switches back and forth between many conversations taking place. He was prepared for their combat mission, staying quiet and observing as he mentally prepares for the task at hand. The mission was to retrieve some machinery for the Cult, and he would not fail them by having another lapse in concentration, as infrequent and nigh-impossible as that was.
"How crude," Felix frowned, eyes hardening. "The Imperial faith is no farce. Our Emperor protects and guides us. The very ship you stand upon would not be capable of traveling the Warp without the Astronomicon - a beacon provided to us by the God-Emperor himself. You disrespect him with your remarks, Xenos," he practically spat. "Miracles are performed every day within the Imperium thanks to our Lord and his faithful. Do not project the absolute failings of your culture upon ours."
She glanced back to him, her appearance now fully exposed. Long black hair, bright green slanted eyes. "It would be wise to oblige our hosts, Eur'i. Unless you wish to find yourself reduced to a casualty."
Felix inclines a polite nod towards the Eldar. "I thank you for your civilized remarks, Eldar. Your manners are appreciated." He casts another little glare at the Tau.
The Tau listened to the remarks, but they were, for all intents and purposes, falling upon deaf ears. He remained staring defiantly vigil at the Missionary, keeping his words silent, for he had already made his point loud and clear. It was interesting to note, however, the reaction. He figured that many of the indoctrinated Tau of the Empire would say the same. The Ethereals protect and guide, and they are the driving force behind miracles of the Empire. Hmph. Ethereals and Imperium. Two sides of the same corroded, destructive coin.
Snugbuz walks up to Felix with his newly acquired shotgun hefted over his shoulder. "Who you be ooman"
In a slow, unnatural motion the Infilitrator rotates his domed head toward the brewing argument. The rest of his mechanical body soon follows suit, silently advancing toward the priest, sister, and Tau. "You imply that the Omnissiah would accept such an empty sacrifice, creature." he says, visual sensors locking on the diminutive figure as he closes in. "Priest. Sister." Thaddius looks to them and gives a quick nod, offering an utterly neutral greeting. Yet soon he returns to looking at Eur'i, his moving halting suddenly to a straightened gait as he stares him down. "The machine spirits already cry in anguish, they stir with discomfort knowing they are housing your kind. As they always, yet their cries never last too long. Prisoners tend to be quickly transported, or summarily executed. Your... criticisms of the priest's faith; do you perhaps wish to lessen the burden of the machine spirits?" he utters flatly, once again. The only indication that it was a threat was the way he slowly raised his power sword appendage into view.
Thall abruptly entered the room, his mechanical body shambling about the room while the magos vox-implant sung several hastily shortened chants in brinary. This awkward display lasted only momentarily before coming to an sudden halt as the magos had found that he reached his destination in time. "Thank the Omnissiah, I've made it..." Thrall whispered in a weary tone in his brinary voice.

Of all the creatures he disliked, it was Orks the most. He had spent a number of years fighting them, and they were responsible for the deaths of many of his old comrades. "I am Felix Aurelious. A priest and warrior."

Katherina raised a hand. "Enough." She glanced between Kelrys, Felix, Eur'i and Thaddius. "Let us not waste words on meaningless conflict. If you cannot be open-minded for the purpose of understanding other better then be open-minded for the purpose of one day killing the others faster than they can kill you." She gritted her teeth. "For now we're allies."
Despite his best, cowardly instincts telling him to run faaaaaar away from the situation, the Tau remained stubbornly stalwart, staring down the priest, and to a lesser extent, the automaton approaching him. A short, silent breath of relief came from behind the protective headgear, as Eur'i straightened himself up, giving a short nod to the Sororitas' words. "She is right. If we are to be allies, there is little point in squabbling. I will tolerate your faith, Gue'la. But don't suspect me to subscribe to it." ------------------------------------- [A NEW CHALLENGER HAS APPEARED] Name: Commissar Meinrad Koelbe Picture(optional): [t]https://orig00.deviantart.net/d109/f/2013/026/5/3/death_korps_of_krieg_commissar_by_akonstad-d5sszk1.jpg[/t] Race: Human, Imperial Guardsman Age: 67 Motivation: Weed out cowards from the Imperium, and both consolidate and further the reach of our God-Emperor. Career: Commissar serving the Death Korps of Krieg Origins: Bred for War, Death World Biography: Meinrad was born on Krieg from the Vitae-Womb that produce a staggering amount of the Imperial Guard's military power. In his original regiment, he was given the designation of 24-421-156 Koelbe during training, but due to a notably higher competence in leading men, marred by his more careful use and consideration of them, was referred to the Commissariat, where he underwent training befitting a Commissar within the Guard. This thusly spared him from the total damnation that is the frontline that a Kriegsman must endure. In either case, he still harbors the vestiges of his training, making Koelbe a stark, calculating, and cold man, most of the time. During his Commissariat training, Koelbe was assigned the forename of Meinrad, to better associate with non-Krieger Imperials. Once his training had completed, he was assigned back to a Krieg regiment, the 23rd Krieg, affectionately named 'Creeping Death', by observers. This very same regiment was assigned to the battered Agri-World Toraia IV, which was currently not only in the midst of a Chaos incursion, but had continually had problems with Orks, and one such Warboss had gathered a Waaagh! large enough to break free from inter-species strife, now setting its sights upon the rest of the planet. The goal was simple. Purge the heretics, and cleanse the Greenskins from the world. Things did, however, get more complicated with the arrival of the Eldar onto the world, seeking some ulterior goal. After months of brutal fighting, enduring Orkish tides crashing against the frontlines, heretics barraging and engaging in brutal street-to-street fighting in any urban environment, and the Eldar raiding and disrupting communication and supply, the regiment, even despite its iron-will, started to become fatigued. An uneasy alliance was struck between the Eldar and Regimental Command, due to an ever-dwindling supply of manpower (or 'bodies', as Krieger Colonels often referred to their men as.). This, however, sparked Koelbe's true hatred for xenos. Not the alliance itself, mind, but what it led to. Intelligence from the Eldar 'ally' suggested a weak point in the defenses of the heretics, thusly sparking the movement of the company Koelbe had attatched himself to against this weak point. Unbeknownst to any, the Eldar had sold them out to the Chaos worshippers, who had set up a large ambush along their path. The fighting lasted days. Despite the ambush, the Kriegsmen were well adapted to digging in. With the initial attack cutting the head off of the snake, as it were, Koelbe took command of the company, surrounded on all sides as he made a doomed last stand, both sides chipping away at each other day and night for a week straight. After that, it was left to just him, and a number of the heretic's rank and file, worst of the worst troops trying to gut the Commissar. Retreat, although more than feasible at this point, would be a disgrace. It is better to die for the Emperor than live for yourself. His weakened body clambered into the nearest vehicle-- a beaten up, yet still functional, Chimera. He would get close, and take as many down with him as he could. Much to his surprise, however, the vehicle opened up with all guns upon the traitors, slaughtering them in quick order. Before the Commissar could celebrate or gloat, he soon blacked out, waking up in the hospital of the nearest Imperial base, having his wounds treated. It turned out that the vehicle's machine spirits took over, driving itself and its occupant to that very same base, where he was found unconscious in the driver's compartment. Though if it was out of goodwill for Koelbe, or a measure of self-preservation, it is uncertain. To this extent, the Commissar owed the machine spirits-- and by extension he supposed, the Mechanicus, his life. On the other extreme, this helped to harbor an already intense mistrust towards xenos within the man, trusting them at sword's length, and only when required to. With the 23rd's heavy losses forcing them to merge with other regiments, Koelbe found himself without a job. To this end, the Commissariat loaned out the use of Koelbe for Rogue Traders, his experience being not the most useful when dealing with regiments from other worlds. All a worthy man must do is fight, and die for the Emperor. It's the Krieg way.
"The Omnissiah does not deal in the useless souls of Xenos, so you have no fear of being indoctrinated into our faith." replies Thaddius, leaving it at that as he lowers his weapon.
Like a large bloat fly attracted to the flame, the ork was attracted to the brewing argument and possible conflict."Wot'z dis buzines goin on about fightin?" Rowbutt exclaimed about as eloquently as he could. "Save it for them gits looking to get in our way."
As the others talked and argued, Kelrys finished suiting up in her void suit. She reequipped her rifle and pistol, as well as the ammo she had for both, and looked back to the others.
"Save it for them gits looking to get in our way."
"Indeed. Any blood shed should be that of our enemies."
"She is right. If we are to be allies, there is little point in squabbling. I will tolerate your faith, Gue'la. But don't suspect me to subscribe to it."
Felix waited around with his equipment, silently cursing the Tau which caused this commotion. Perhaps soon they would be briefed on the full details of the mission and they would be under way without further issue. However, it seemed the Tau was now willing to come back to civil grounds. "Very well. I ask not for conversion, but simple respect. I do not seek conflict among comrades," Felix said, giving a slight bow of his head.
Satisfied with the fact that the team would not kill eachother for now Katherina nodded. She then turned towards the militant leader. "We await your command, sire."
The entire Docks heard a loud noise signaling the time has commenced. At least multiple dropships landed in anticipation for the Sherylwood. As a result the Rogue Trader of Everlasting Avenger appeared in front of the soldiers. She wore a hat nearly hiding her eyes by its shadow. Several servo skulls floated across and were sent above to the crowd. She made her words clear and loud. "To all arrivals. This will be your first assignment among the Colossus, all of you mercenaries, wanderers, Imperials, and Xenos. I don't accuse nor judge anyone that's different on this ship. We're here for one thing: To serve the Imperium when no one else are willing to commit beyond. Out there is a ship called the Sherylwood. Said to contain property of the Adeptus Mechanicus. In a few days information is sure to spread and eventually we won't be the only ones to search the Sherylwood. Which is why we're going in there and start finding this technology. Arch Militants, take your groups!" She shouted, holding a sword in the air. "When we get this tech, and we certainly will, we'll get our share of the deal by the Admech. It's time you prove your worth." The Arch Militant Yaroslav march forward to the Serrated Group along with another who consisted of all Imperials. "Serrated, Glory you're with me. Enter the Devourer Dropship." To their left was a green dropship with two decks. The top would store the infantry while the bottom were to store heavy equipment. The Arch Militant went ahead and entered as the two groups followed pursuit.
Eur'i nodded to the Arch-Militant as he made his way up the ramp, shifting to hold his rifle in both hands. "Fighting in the cramped confines of a Gue'la vessel... wonderful..." He sarcastically remarked, grimacing behind his helmet as he looked down to the sniper in his hands that was likely to prove unwieldy. Still. At least there was his blade, should it come to that... right?
Thaddius trailed behind the Tau, unfortunately, rigid movements guiding him up the ramp as he looked to the Arch Militant. "Understood. I will comply to your orders." he states before moving into the ship.
Kelrys did as ordered, strolling along with the group behind the Arch-Militant. She glanced over as she heard the tau say something, then noticed him looking down at his rifle. "If it comes down to it, just point and shoot. No point in aiming in such a confined space unless you have a pistol." she stated, before patting the pistol on her hip. "I would still be ready to use that blade, of course."
"Tight spots never bothered me." Robutt added his two teef to the conversation "Just need ta get close to smack em."
Felix adjusted the shotgun he had slung over his shoulder, and kept his left hand resting on the pommel of his Vostroyan power sword. He strode along behind the first several people to board the vessel and he sought out some seating near his comrades. "I must admit," he said to no one in particular, "I am curious as to how this Sherylwood ended up indisposed. They say void-suits are just a precaution, so that seems to imply there is little to no outward damage to the ship - such as from battle. If that is the case, then perhaps an... internal matter is the cause for the ship's abandonment?" His mind naturally lingered on technical failure, such as engine or life support failure, as well as Gellar Field failure.
"That's what I'm trying to think on. From the reports Sherylwood didn't sustain any significant damages." Yaroslav said, crossing his arms as people came on board. "Whenever happened to put her out there is still a mystery which I hope I might find myself."
Katherina nodded. "I do not doubt that we will find the answers we seek, as long as the Emperor's light guides us."
"Quite so, Sister. The Emperor is our salvation, forever and always," he intoned. His face was expressionless, but he continually stroked his mustache pensively - those around him wouldn't realize it for a nervous habit. It must be a Gellar failure.... I am sure of it.... he thought grimly. His rosarius was blessed and warded, and he knew enough to protect himself from daemonic peril, at least to a certain level. As for everyone else, that was a different matter entirely. Even a minimum amount of daemonmancery would raise questions. Take it easy, he reassured himself. You're behaving like a fool. There will be no daemons.
The kroot heads up to board the dropship, staying near the tau. On the way he says to Eur'i, "Just don't shoot us in the back when we are up close eh?" and gives him a friendly slap on the back.
