Iska was kneeling and felt her eyesocket slightly, concluding that it would take a long time to get her left eye back.
She fidgeted in her mouth to feel where the missing tooth was.
After locating the gap she took her finger out and saw they were still a bit bloody.
She spat out a little blood when Dwan spoke up.
"What powersource?" she asked, still slightly annoyed.
"While I was getting rid of Zane's body, I found out two things. The first we all know of now; the Sector 4 massacre. The second.... is the power source.", Dwan said in a saddened tone. "I don't know if any of you feel it, but I can. I can feel the energy of this second power source run through my veins, confirming its existence. And it isn't anything like the Oracle. It's.... out of this world.", he said worryingly.
Iska scoffed and lit a cigarette.
"Find and destroy" she said calmly.
Lion walked up to Iska and Dwan. He nodded towards Iska. "You need some biofoam for that?" He made a gesture towards one of his eyes.
Iska looked dowon on Lion. "No, gel only slow natural regeneration" she said with a small smirk.
Lion nodded. "Let me know if you change your mind." He then walked up to each and everyone and made sure they were okay.
Finally he went up to Mercury. "How are you holding up?"
Mercury sighed. "First, Krum, then Hunter now Varn." he looked at the urn in his hands "I'll be lying if I said I'm not used to loosing brothers, but some losses are harder than others. I should have grabbed his tags when I had the chance. Father is gonna chew me out on this. Like he did Varn." He shook his head. "We'll be fine and move on. It's what this raging idiot would want us to do." he said with a slight smile and pointing at the urn.
Lion put one of his hands on Mercury's shoulder. "Indeed he would, Varn would've wanted us to finish this before more innocents die. Let's honor him together."
"Aye." Mercury looked at one of the other Boomes "Come here. I'm gonna need both my hands free for this and you have a good dodge record on you and aren't heavily armed. I'm trusting you with this."he passed him the urn "Make sure it's intact until we get home and I'll consider it a personal favor." He looked back at Lion. "Lead the way, captain."
Lion nodded just as the elevator reached it's destination. He turned to squad as he readied his rifle.
"Stay focused, watch your fire people. Civilians in the area."
He gestured with his hand. "Dwan and Pippin, you're on support duty. Iska and Viper covers the flanks. Marines, watch our backs. Mercs; do what you see fit."

"Hey I got my commander's holo band. Even he wants to know what's Harken Saw up to." The Privateer came back to the group in the makeshift fort.
...
One shot was all it took for the mech's head to explode while it plummeted down. That was all of them in this area. Mariahlus stared through her scope and checked her position and surroundings. She deeply sighed and checked the signal. She oversaw the Stadium lighting up in flames. She stared anxiously and wished to check on her kin, but she couldn't. No. They mustn't worry. Mariahlus shook her head and turned for any Privateers. She thought back to the days she came back in Zeruel...
...
Two days ago
Mariahlus opened the car door, she nodded to her Auditor Palace guards as she walked through the opened gates. She saw a lavish mansion as her Palace guards went to their daily guard posts. She walked into the door and started to take off her helmet, revealing a pale yet attractive woman in her early thirties. She used a holokey to open the door, slowly as she crept through the hallway. She heard loud noise coming from the living room. A holographic television nevertheless, she sneaked through, activating her cloak.
A small child was sketching a small cutesy animal called the Wiglet, a bipedal dog-like creature. The child used the TV as background noise but she heard something astray a humming noise, she knew exactly who it was, she brightened her face and jumped out of the couch.
“Mommy!” She ran to Mariahlus as she decloaked, hugging her with open arms. “It’s been so long Gretel, I’m so sorry for making you wait. But don’t worry I’m on leave from Auditor Assignments…” Mariahlus assured, she pressed her hand against her daughter’s cheek, warming it up, her smile widened. For once Mariahlus was relieved.
“Where is your sister?” She asked, looking at her surroundings. “Upstairs, doing…” Gretel left off.
“Doing what..?”
“Well to be honest she’s supposed to be studying her lessons from the Education Codex but she’s too busy typing on her pad.” Gretel scratched her head, spotting her older sister at the staircase, she let her mouth hang as a girl in her teen years approached. Her horns on both sides gave her an odd appearance, along with hot red hair.
“Mother?” She wondered while talking through some pad, Mariahlus rose to a great height, coming in to greet her older child. “I was wondering what you were doing.” Mariahlus said, placing her hand against her older daughter’s shoulder. She felt weirded out forcing her hand off of her mother’s. Mariahlus chuckled, looking at each. “Kaede, you know I don’t get to see my children often. At least smile for once.” Kaede didn’t look directly into her mother’s face but at least considered to curve her lip.
“That’s my girl.” Mariahlus turned to see Sertum walk in. Mariahlus felt surprised to find her mentor at her house this time. “Auditor Sertum, I wasn’t clear you would be here.” She said as Sertum took an observant expression on the two children.
Gretel looked above the 8 Ft man wearing the same armor as her mom albeit much more advanced. Kaede placed her pad down, looking closer at Sertum. “Sertum? I know you, you’re the Leader of the Auditors, my mother talks about you sometimes when she isn’t working with you.” Kaede tilted her head, crossing her arms.
“Is that so? Our share of gossip can go unnoticed.” Sertum responded. He lowered to see the small little one, “Gretel? It has been awhile since your birth.” Sertum said dearly, Gretel chuckled touching his chest plate like the gesture of knocking. “You’re pretty big, I bet you’re so strong that even starships can’t beat you.” She over exaggerated. Playing with her hands to imitate her perspective on Auditors.
Mariahlus chuckled, “Maybe, he’s experienced many oddities for a century now.” Mariahlus looked at him, “What do I owe this visit?” Mariahlus asked, the children sat down looking at both adults. “I’d wish to talk to you about future assignments.” Sertum said, he received an utter nod yet a weak one at that. Mariahlus looked at her two daughters watching the conversation unfold. “I’d rather talk about this in private, actually I’ve been wanting to discuss something for a while now.” Mariahlus explained. Sertum felt intrigued what was on her mind. In his honesty he felt ashamed to interrupt a family reunion after the operation she deserved to have a break for once. Both went to the living room, following to the private archives upstairs. Mariahlus closed the doors as she stood before. “Auditor Sertum-
“The formality isn’t needed Mariahlus, you are at your own home.” Sertum assured.
“Very well. As a person that stands by your teachings I don’t know how to put it.” She said in her own terms, realizing her life is on the set of two paths. “I’ve realized how much my children mean to me. I can’t, I can’t leave them while I’m too busy dealing with offworld affairs no longer. It’s not fair to them, they’re wondering when their own mother will come home while the caretaker takes care of them.” Mariahlus explained. Sertum tilted his head, notifying her commitment to her personal life. “I know you don’t have relatives of your own with all due respect but I want you to understand where I’m coming from.” She clenched her hand into a fist, stiff as a pole to hear the rejection from Sertum. After a certain moment Sertum placed his hand over her shoulder, Mariahlus looked up.
“I see no reason why you shouldn’t attend to your concerns. Everything you’ve done so far has proven me you deserve to be with your children. The Principals won’t be so approving to this resignation but I will handle everything for you.” Sertum stated. Mariahlus was shocked to say the least, strictly she knew that her position as Auditor was a very high mark among the Leadership Constables but coming from Sertum, this was surprising. “I, very much appreciate this action. But what about the others?”
“They will understand, you’ll done more than enough.” Sertum said. Mariahlus closed her eyes and sighed. “Like I said, I thank you Sertum. My children, they deserve better. I won’t neglect them no more.”
“See you soon.” Sertum walked away as he turned around, exiting out the door after he waved Gretel and Kaede goodbye. The door closed and Mariahlus came to the living room. She saw the two and wondered. “Have you two ate yet?”
“I already ate Betekor.” Gretel responded getting out of the couch to stand near her mother.
“I haven’t.” Kaede followed. Mariahlus curved her mouth shaking her head. “I haven’t cooked in a while so I might bring some ingredients to start off a batch. Be right back.” She lowered her height to Gretel’s, seeing her beautiful smile. Mariahlus closed in on her and gave her a kiss on the cheek. Gretel giggled as she walked. Kaede rolled her eyes in annoyance for her younger sister.
Mariahlus spotted the kitchen nearby, a luxurious room full of equipment. Hopefully her instruction book might be here. She started to pull out the artificial ingredients. Gretel peeked out beside as she observed her mom. “Mom?”
Mariahlus caught the voice and turned.
“Yes Gretel?”
“What did you and the big man talk about?” The child wondered.
“Well, I promised myself, actually to both of you that I will be staying for a long time. My duties are finished as of now.” Mariahlus assured her.
“Does that mean?”
“Yes, it means we can finally be together.” She gave a smile. Gretel nodded and closed in to her mother, wrapping her arms around her torso. Gretel tightened her grip as Mariahlus stopped everything and did the same.
…
The hysteria snapped the city of Zerial in half as hundreds of civilians worried, escorted by the Civilian Administration to transports. They hurried as the mass sirens all around the network blew over proportion. Transports floated ominously as the mass populace echoed with worry. Mariahlus held on to her two daughters. She tried her best not to crush their hands but surely they would warn her.
The Palace guards followed pursuit as they saw their surroundings of an invasion. Mariahlus dreaded this inevitable outcome. Why of all things that had to be, an invasion. The Principals even her own Auditors have told her to do any things she needs to do before going out there for war. Gretel closed her eyes and attempted to pull away.
“No! Please, mommy what’s going on?!” She yelled. Mariahlus gritted her teeth.
“Not now Gretel, we have to evacuate. We’ll talk once we board the ship.”
“Mother, she’s right don’t we deserve to know. You’re an Auditor.” Kaede said. Mariahlus saw the transport up ahead and attempted to ignore their pleas.
“Enough. Can’t you see we’re evacuating right now?” Mariahlus said as she hurried.
“Mommy please tell us what’s happening?”
“Gretel enough!” Mariahlus pleaded to her children finding the transport. The palace guards saw the pilots and made sure they watched the three. Mariahlus saw the pilots and walked up to them. “Listen, take these two to the farthest out of Zerial through the synergy network, I beg you to do your job right!” Mariahlus said. The pilot looked over the two then back to the Auditor.
“I promise Auditor Mariahlus, the duty will be fulfilled.” He gave a salute.
“Thank you. Thank you so much.” Mariahlus said, she lowered her head as she turned.
“Mother, I thought you were coming with us?” Kaede asked with certainty, she narrowed her eyes and began to shake. Gretel looked at her big sister she looked down.
“Mommy?” She said. Mariahlus was silent, unable to comprehend the fate she chose for herself in this situation. She exhaled and walked up to the two. “I cannot go with you.” Mariahlus answered, she avoided eye contact, biting her lip. She swore she saw their reactions without looking.
“W-What?” Gretel asked, barely realizing her eyes were dripping with tears. “B-but I thought –
“Sweetie, please look at me.” Mariahlus quickly stared straight at Gretel’s innocent eyes unable to look. The Auditor grabbed her firm small hands, tightening. “Gretel, I must protect our Regime, I must protect you and your sister.” Mariahlus told her as she saw Gretel unable to realize what was at stake. Gretel’s hands began to shake as she struggled to clear her throat.
“Y-you. No.. Mommy.” Gretel said.
“Gretel, I have to. I know I shouldn’t have to tell you this but. I-
“YOU PROMISED!”
Mariahlus immediately closed her eyes, unable to watch her child shout in front of her. “I know… I know I said-
“Why. You promised we can finally be together. You promised you wouldn’t work.” Gretel asked as her tears turn into sobs. Kaede stood covering her face. Mariahlus was at a lost.
“I’m… I’m so sorry. Gretel, Kaede. Please please understand what I must do to protect both of you.”
“Protect us from who?!” Kaede demanded as tears formed out of her eyes. Mariahlus shook her head. “I can’t tell you.”
“Why?” Kaede asked.
“There are people in this Galaxy that will do anything to get what they want.” Mariahlus reasoned. The Auditor struggled to keep both together. “Listen to me, I do not want you to suffer, I do not want you harmed by anyone outside of our cities.” Mariahlus said. “If I don’t go out there then I will fail to protect you.” Mariahlus turned and attempted to walk off but a small arm grabbed her. “Don’t go! Mommy I need you! Kaede needs you I need you!” Gretel shouted. Mariahlus shook her head, feeling her arm being pulled by her own child.
“Don’t leave us…”
Mariahlus turned and hugged both, she closed her eyes as she fell to her knees. “Gretel. Kaede.” She looked at each one. She blinked as she remembered the first day she met both. Ever since she was a rookie of the Auditors she began to dwell as the scorched desert of Tamari. A slave trade that she was assigned to convert more people to the Crimus.
She saw the savage slavers pull off with children of adolescence. She killed the fuckers one by one until they scattered. Mariahlus turned to see two children hiding behind the ramp, shaking from the skirmish.
“Are you okay?” She asked both, in return shook their heads. “Don’t worry they’re gone. All of them. Don’t be afraid.” Mariahlus assured to them. She carefully extended a hand. Both were redundant at first but took the stranger’s hand. Mariahlus pulled them out and kneeled down. “Everything will be alright. Do you have names? Family?” Both didn’t respond and avoided eye contact. Mariahlus nodded. “That’s fine, you don’t have to say it.” She said as she noticed the burn marks on their exposed skin.
“Both of you are hurt aren’t you?” Mariahlus asked to them, receiving a quick nod. “Come with me, I promise you that you will go to a better place and won’t suffer no more.” Mariahlus said. She extended her hand once again, both were unsure but surely she wasn’t like those slavers was she? They accepted and Mariahlus kept her word, even if it meant to wipe the slate clean from both and giving those false memories.
She blinked as she saw both wrapped around her arms. “I’m sorry, I won’t let anyone harm you. Please forgive me.” Mariahlus said as the palace guards took both away. Gretel screamed out as Kaede struggled. Mariahlus covered her mouth and looked away. She shook her head and closed her eyes, unable to bear witness to a traumatizing event.
“I’m sorry.” She said as a tear dropped down.
...
Civilians could not stand for this, this was their home. The remaining citizens who were daring enough to protect their loved ones fought back from fallen friends and soldiers landing several hits among the Privateers and mercenaries. "Enough is enough! I'm tired of seeing this bullshit on my street!" The crowds of angry people raised their fist to the air, carrying weapons from fallen soldiers. Even the children that came from the Nomadic Volunteer Front assisted the resistance.
"Those motherfuckers have set ablaze here and think they can tear our world apart. We either die here or face our enemies!" The spokesman yelled at the top of his lungs, the crowd chanted their outcries and swore to avenge those that fallen. Militias formed as the day went by. Mariahlus looked down and saw all of it. If they fight, they will become combatants of war. She has to protect them regardless, her war was at the peak.
...
"Militants are around our corner, shoot them if they shoot you." A NCO stated blind firing while all forms of combatants came left from right.
Pippin eyed the mercs closely, and whispered to Lion. "Are we still trusting them?"
Viper stood distant and silent towards it's companions as the elevator went further deeper into the Crimus's planetary installation.
The recent loss of Vran had Varn shaken the Sanghvi an bit to it's core but nevertheless remained determined to seeing this all mess through with it's comrades at it's side.
"Roger Sir, I keep our right side secured." Viper answered to Lion while arming it's weapons and scanning the surrounding area closely for any activity.
Dwan nodded when he heard he was put on support duty. His howitzer was ready to fire, so he could always support the group from behind. But he knew he had to tell Lion about the second power source in detail, as he knew the truth. He got back a little and made it so sound couldn't get out of his helmet, before making a private comm link to Lion.
"Lion, when I said that I could feel the second power source run through my veins, I was being literal. Whatever it is, it is using dimensional energy. That kind of energy trumps my powers, as I'm merely universal. As such, I can't use my powers. If you still have that blue crystal coin I gave you, you can use it to command my mechs and see things from their perspective, as I put the same coins into them to allow me to do that. But I can't do that anymore, as my powers are organic. You aren't, so you shouldn't have this issue.", he said.
"Anything's possible down here Pippin, just keep and eye on them." Lion then took point out through a small checkpoint which was connected with the elevator, suddenly stepping out on a street.
Even if most of the buildings had sustained damage it was still an impressive sight. "Reminds of the underground cities on Luna."
He looked at the squad. "Fan out and remember our rules of engagement."
Dwan then contacted Lion. Using the same silent channel Lion replied. "I'll try to make them more friendly then. In any case, tell me if it gets worse so we can locate the source."
Lion then brought out the coin device and attempted to contact the mechs.
At first there was nothing but then he could... hear them. The mechs were speaking but not like any normal technical devices would. In any case, Lion gave them new directives to hold their current positions and to not engage anyone unless fired upon.
"Remember pups. Rule 3. Don't engage unarmed targets unless attacked. Even then, use the stun batons." Mercury and the rest took their positions. "If you see a gold sheen of armor or a slave collar tied to a belt, consider them a threat."
---
"Hey, Mikhail, take a look." One Gold dust called his comrade over. "Looks like the cattle found a spine." He passed him the binoculars. Mikhail put out his cigarette and looked through the thm. "Who do you think is the leader of that bunch?"
"Probably the one on the car rallying the rest. Dmitri, pass me my riffle." Dmitri obliged his friend. Mikhail aimed down the sights and took a shot at the civilian. The man gripped his chest and fell off the car onto the streets. "There they go. You cut off the head and the rest scatter. Makes them harder to catch, but we got enough time." He held a comm device in his hand. "Am I on loudspeaker?"
"Everyone on this block could probably hear you."
"Attention! My name is not important. What is important is that I represent the Gold dust corporation and I bring a deal. You surrender to us and join us in a new experimental program or you can continue to resist. We offer you shelter, protection and every basic need you would require. We will only ask of you to do some work in return. If you refuse me, I will kill you, your husband, your wife, your parents, your children and even your pets. It will take a long time probably, but I am a very patient man, who takes his time. So, who will be smart enough to come forward and help us create the new Golden wa..." The sentence was cut short by a bullet penetrating his head from behind. Dmitri turned around only to receive a bullet through the neck
Two DV reapers were standing on a nearby roof, one with a smocking sniper riffle.
"Did you have to let him talk so much?"
"I did. The speech was long enough for the civilians to retreat and regroup. The executor told us not to engage them, and the only way forward was to disperse them. I don't like this method either, but we put those two down at least. Now come on. We got more Golden boys and privateers coming our way. Id rather we block the road before they arrive."
As soon as he pulled the trigger the enemies already got to him first. The soldiers aimed down at his torso, piercing through his body with regular salvos.
Virin had been lucky at first- while breaking contact with his last close-range opponent and scurrying toward cover, most of the inbound projectiles had missed him, allowing him time to reload and explain Yanim's task to one of the human soldiers nearby. He took a deep breath, standing again as he looked down his sights at the enemy. He hadn't considered their level of focus; they hadn't stopped watching his position after he disappeared behind cover, as he hadn't waited long enough. They waited for him to expose himself once more, and as his finger pulled back on the trigger, he felt multiple impacts in his chest, as if he had been hit by a train. He dropped his rifle and fell- warmth flooding the space between himself and the inadequate armor he was wearing over his clothing.
There was suddenly no strength in his body, his arms failed to catch him as he collapsed onto the gritty tan surface of the planet. He let out a groan and felt a lack of air within his lungs- pierced and deflated, and knew immediately what was going to happen. There was nothing anyone could do. He turned over in a desperate clinch and set his eyes on the mech in the distance. It wouldn't be long before darkness closed in, before the pain would disappear. The life he had always secretly wished for, the dreams he never had the chance to share, they would perish with him. So be it; he always knew, as a soldier, that something like this might happen. He only wished it wouldn't happen so soon.
Out there, the mech he wished to destroy still loomed over the battlefield. He was just one of thousands who would die in the effort to destroy it. As he silently faded, he hoped one last hope to witness its demise as well, bloodshed born of bloodshed, balanced in the end. His weak pulse ceased as he entered the moment of twilight between life and death.
Yanim saw her opportunity at that exact moment, entirely unaware of Virin's imminent demise. She plunged the ship, a hypersonic dagger, down onto the goliath below.
"Alright.", Dwan replied to Lion with the silent channel before ending it. He then allowed his helmet to allow sound to come out of it once more.
He got up next to the group and pulled out his Texas Ranger. He switched the howitzer's mode to electric mode. He wasn't sure what the group would face next, but he prepared himself nevertheless.
Kaspar grabbed the holoband. "This is Colonel Kaspar Cross of the SDF, requesting to speak with Mr Saw."
He then waited.
Damian's computer died and all he can do is browse via his WiiU, so I guess that he may not post often while he's getting his PC fixed, just to let you guys know.
Arthur strips naked, douses himself in oil and lights himself on fire, running out of a nearby airlock while screaming the lyrics to Barbie Girl.
[Thanks for the heads up, Pez.]

Nah. Sci-fi isn't really my thing. What with two Sci-fi roleplays running concurrent with each other, I'd say that someone should host a fantasy RP next, to mix things up and get more people interested instead of the same old group. I'd think about playing that.

[I was thinking about setting up a similar RP to this (ie. Individual characters) only set in the bloodborne universe, however I haven't been able to set up a story to base it on. You can contact me if you'd be interested in this concept or just contact me about what possible RPs could be set in a fantasy setting, because I too would be greatly interested in such an endevour]
[I've actually made lore, story etc. for a fantasy RP. Seeing as Spearhead didn't take off as well as I hoped I had the fantasy one planned as a backup.]
