[Gonna finish up some shiz while also introducing my character for V2.]
Steps echoed through the hallway as the officer walked decisively towards the reinforced door.
Two guards snapped into a salute as he approached.
"Open it."
They nodded and activated the door controls which required both guards present to function.
Several loud noises could be heard as the large metal door opened up, revealing a large hangar inside.
The man entered and began walking on the path at the center of the room.
On the sides of the path were several cordoned off areas which housed what would appear to be scrap of varying sizes.
A closer inspection of the items behind the holographic fence revealed that this scrap was not of the ordinary; one large object was infact the Archius XI which had crashed a week earlier on Zeruel.
Another object was the crushed Jägermeister, while a third object was the Lynx; the LWA Lancer All-Terrain Rover which was still relatively intact despite having suffered damage in the crash.
The farther into the hall the man got, the more curious the items were. One item which looked like a charred piece of clumped metal used to be a Crimus fightercraft while another piece was a smaller spidertank; one of many which had been used to hold off the invading forces.
The charred remains of a weapon from the menacing Daedalus mech could also be observed.
Finally the man reached the end of the hangar where he was confronted with another door. "STATE YOUR IDENTITY" said a robotic voice, the AI guarding the door.
The man walked up and adjusted his tie.
"Director, Talwin K. Williams. SSOID."
A light turned green. "WELCOME DIRECTOR" said the voice as the door slid open.
Director Williams entered the room and was greeted by the chief scientist, a small man named Amos, who eagerly presented a datapad.
"Director! Perfect timing! I have great news regarding project Alpha!"
The director grabbed the datapad gently and skimmed through the various data showcasing productional statistics. He raised an eyebrow.
"You've increased output by 200%?"
The chief scientist grinned. "Yes director, as we began modifying the weapon schematics, don't worry we made separate copies as to not ruin the original blueprints, we continued to dig through the data packet and found some kind of entity inside."
"An entity?" Asked the director as the two of them walked past several other scientists and engineers working at computer stations or taking scans and notes of several worn weapons on display.
"Yes, it appeared to be some kind of AI so we activated it in a restricted environment where it began designing a weapon."
"What kind of weapon?"
"A weapon to break through the containment. We realized its potential and began communicating, informing it of who we are and what we work for. For a few hours it did nothing but then it resumed its work."
They reached a window overlooking a hangar below. Talwin was awestruck. "By Terra..."
Line after line of white and black-colored robots could be seen, organized into squads led by officers with blue stripes on their face and shoulders.
"Director, meet the next generation of SDF soldiers: The Tactical Infantry & Ground Enforcement Robot or as we call them; TIGER."
As Amos finished the officer robots let out a robotic screech followed by all of the units snapping into a Terran salute.
"We stand at your command, Director." Said a voice behind the pair. Both Amos and the Director turned around to be greeted by a trio of TIGER's all with officer markings.
"I am TGR-01, but you can call me Tiger One, sir."

As the cold night embraced the Valley of Heroes, Valerie stood in the large living room overlooking the valley below. Several lone figures could be seen wandering amongst the newly erected statues and the Zeruel monument, lighting candles before returning to their rovers parked nearby.
She turned around and looked towards the table. A framed photo of her and Lion, who was Leon to her, stood there. A relic of what they had shared together.
The photo had been given to her by a Lieutenant James Warren, a SSFD soldier who had fought alongside Lion on Zeruel. He had recovered the photo, alongside some other personal items, from the deceased soldier's hidden compartments scattered avcross his robotic chassis.
"Oh Leon, why didn't you just come home." Suddenly she felt more lonelier than ever before.
-----
"Advance!"
Vakarus Va'un charged straight into the grey mass of Gad'r warriors, causing at least five of them to fly a short distance as he lashed out with his Vakr plasmastaff while also releasing a charge of psionic energy; creating a lethal shockwave.
The smaller Gad'r desperately tried to bring him down but their energy swords of superheated plasma merely scraped his shielded armor.
As the forces of house Va'un, his house, joined him so did the warriors from the allied houses. With ease they swept through the Gad'r lines, massacring their soldiers.
"Bring forth the hevay weapons!" Yelled one of the warriors as the Gad'r capital became visible in the distance.
The Vakr lines formed up as the Gad'r retreated to their twentieth defensive line which had, like the nineteen before it, been hastily erected to hold back the Vakr onslaught.
"Victory is within our grasp brothers!" Yelled Vakarus proudly as marched infront of the house warriors.
Behind them a impressive assortment of hovering psi-cannons formed up. Dozens of Vakr warpriests began chanting, for each word the cannons started to shine brighter and brighter.
"Fire!" Yelled Vakarus.
Without any delay the psi-cannons let out beams of purple and blue-ish color towards the Gad'r capital and defensive line. Vakarus grinned as his heart began beating faster and faster.
The brave Gad'r steeled themselves and let out silent prayers as the beams made it across the sky.
Suddenly the beams hit something. Vakarus smiled. Then he noticed that there was a lack of screaming and no sound of any buildings collapsing.
He looked towards the horizon.
The beams had stopped in mid-air and were surrounded by an aura of blue.
Before he could say anything the very sky itself became blurry as a massive vessel appeared.
"Vakarus of house Va'un." Said a voice which echoed across the battlefield.
"This is Cavan of the Ayr house Ishin."
Suddenly the vessel shot out a beam towards the ground, as it disappared a battalion of armored Ayr soldiers armed with advanced rifles and staff weapons stood between the two armies.
"I am here to ensure the security and serenity of this world. Due to your failure to comply with Ayr guidelines in place to ensure a stable Empire, I hereby arrest you. The punishment for your crimes is immeadiate exile."
The armored soldiers appraoched and disarmed the Vakr soldiers who could not do anything but watch as the guidelines prevented them from interfering with soldiers of the Ayr Empire. Many fell to their knees.
"Fools!" Screamed Vakarus as the guards cuffed him. "The Gad'r are weak! They poison this world! We have no place for weak creatures such as these!"
A muzzle which was also a psionic blocker was put on Vakarus's head.
"Ready for transport." Said one of the soldiers.
Within the blink of an eye Vakarus suddenly stood somewhere else. Gone were the tall mountains and rolling plains and instead dunes and sandy rock formations could be seen everywhere. The cuffs and muzzle deactivated and fell to the ground.
His staff appeared within a small teleportation window and fell to the ground next to him.
Vakarus was about to give up when he spotted a group of individuals next to some kind of monument. One of them had a curious tail.
"Servants, good." Vakarus then approached them clumsily.
As soon as the trio heard a voice behind them, they sprung into a ready stance. A week of total paranoia prepared them for this moment, as Yanim unholstered her VRI, Rask bashed the back of his OBV to prime the plasma cartridge, and Neasha... hit the deck, because she still couldn't fire a gun.
"You've got five seconds. Who are you, and how did you find us?" Rask demanded.
Vakarus raised his hands. "[What are you doing? I command you, vermin.]" He then realized that he was speaking in Vakr and took the opportunity to correct his mistake.
"Greetings humble citizens." He began, having switched to the universal trading language taught by the Ayr scholars. "May I ask what realm this is?"
Rask answered by discharging his rifle. The plasma burst whizzed past the stranger's right ear with a screech. "No games. Your name." Rask insisted. Yanim suddenly checked over her shoulder with an addled jolt, worried that the mysterious vakr might be a distraction. Not seeing an ambush creeping up from behind, she sneered.
Vakarus sighed and tried to remain calm as hungered for battle. He straightened himself and resumed talking.
"I am Vakarus of house Va'un, I am from the Vakr. Who are you? What house are you from, I do not recognize your colors?"
"Where I come from," Yanim replied in a strange cadence, "the ones with the guns get to ask the questions." She suddenly chirped her disturbing kanad laugh, obviously intoxicated. Her aim waivered as she continued to mock him. "You've got to be tripping harder than me!" After a moment she let her arm fall back to her side.
Rask, confused, honestly began to wonder if the vakr was just another addict wondering around the desert. "Uh," he sighed, awkwardly, "you're a ways north of Bonram right now. On Duroma."
"Bonram? Duroma?" Vakr suddenly got very pale and fell to his knees. "I've failed my house. They have truly exiled me." He looked at Rask. "Please stranger, I urgently require your help. If this is indeed another world then I am lost."
Rask looked down on Vakarus with a mixture of reactions present on his face at once. If this were his own operation, he'd probably just mug the sonofabitch and leave him in the desert, but given that Yanim was in charge and might identify with this bum gave him reason to hesitate. He looked over at her for an answer, giving an indifferent shrug to imply what he'd do if she said no.
Yanim played around with the safety on the VRI absent-mindedly before replying. "Alright, what's your offer?"
"I'd like to come with you, stranger. In return I will offer you my blades and staff, the warrior's codex commands me to protect those that shield a Vakr in need." He made a formal bow before entering a neutral stance with his staff at his side.
Everything about Vakarus annoyed the piss out of Rask, especially the way he talked. In silence he was practically begging Yanim to tell the bum to fuck off, but she clearly wasn't in her right mind. Come with them where? For all Vakarus knew, he might be better off staying behind, and finding a more sympathetic group. In fact, he'd definitely be better off.
It didn't matter, though. Yanim seemed to like him. Rask lowered his rifle and cursed under his breath as his boss offered to let him tag along.
[Just gonna scoot in here real quick. Are we gonna use the same thread or are you gonna make a new one?]
((There will eventually be a new thread for the sequel. This is all just epilogue and teaser.))
"My eternal gratitude, tailed one!" Exclaimed Vakarus as he was allowed to join this mysterious group. As he wandered next them he pondered on what the future might hold for him? Would he ever return to Vakrosia? Only time would tell, for now he would honor his ancestors by following the warrior's codex.
[I assume it's gonna be in a new thread. Anyway here is a teaser and the introduction of the character for the next thread]
Somewhere else on Duroma
The Pit was on fire tonight. The crowd was cheering and and was up on their feet. Tonight was the big night. The anticipation of a moth long setup for a fight between the raining champion and the new up and coming monster of a challenger was promising a lot of damage and carnage. Enough to saith their thirst for blood. One of the attendees was sitting next to a more quiet man in a hoodie.
"Enjoying yourself buddy?" Asked the hooded stranger.
"Oh Hell yeah! It's gonna be great! I got a ton of cash on the new guy."
"Really? You think he'll win?"
"Yeah. I mean come on. The champ is fast and all, but come on. This guy has four arms and is crazy strong."
"Guess so. You look like an educated fellow. What do you work?"
"Oh, I'm a miner. But after tonight, I'm gonna own my own company."
"Sounds like you have it all figured out. Studying to be a chef myself. But my current job is murder."
"Listen man, I don't really care."
"I'll shut up then. Gotta go anyway. The boss is coming. You're in seat....27K." The hooded man left in a rather quick pace.
The spotlight lid up on the ramp that leads to the caged arena. And a loud voice could be heard through the speakers. "Good evening, ladies and gentlemen of the blood lust variety. Stand up and greet your lord of the arena. Then kanad who has everything you need and everything you never knew you wanted. Mr. Krasus!" Krasus came out to an ovation of the crowd. Surrounded by bodyguards, he made his way the arena. After entering the cage, he took the microphone and started talking in a over the top manner.
"Are you ready for a fight?" he took a pause to listen "Yeah, you're ready. Alright folks this match is important for two reasons. It's a tittle match and a retirement match. So not only will we see if we crown a new champ, but we will find out if the current champ will walk out of this arena as a rich man or in a body bag." He paused for a few seconds to let the crowd do it's thing. "Now. To introduce the challenger. You saw what he did in the Murder melee. He overcame 29 other men and women and turned them to red smears on the wall. Give your warm welcome to the four armed freak of nature. KRONGRATH THE DESTROYER!"
The crowd went nuts with cheers and boos as Krongrath entered the arena. Krasus took note of that. "I see some of you are still made he took out your favorite fighters. They knew what they singed up for and so did you." He had another pause to listen. They were so predictable with their reactions. "Ok ok, that's enough. Time to introduce the champion. You know him. You love to hate him and hate to love him. He's the reason half of you chant 'Fight Alex Fight' during fights. The other half keep hoping he get beaten to a pulp. Well, today may be your lucky day. Ladies and gentlemen. Show your appreciation and animosity to ALEX THE REEEEED!"

Alex came out to the ramp with a microphone in hand. He waited a bit until the crowd cooled a bit before he spoke. "Love you too guys. Really feeling the 'love'. Oh and yes big guy, I get to have a theme song, because I have this around my waist." he pointed to the belt. "After this I'm done with this line of work, so I'm not gonna give my usual tripe. However I will say this. The guy at seat 27K. Stick to mining, buddy. You just lost all your life savings." Alex dropped the microphone and rushed to the arena.
---
"So, how is the project coming along?"
"Uhh, executor Mordecai, I'm sorry I missed you coming in. Yes, the project is coming along nicely. The data gathered from the vultures has turned out to be real useful. We have managed to speed up the adaptation process of the G.V.M. It's already responding well to utilizing the tools and weaponry. We also managed to teach it to identify friend and foe."
"G.V.M.? That's a rather dull name. Isn't it? But that's besides the point. I'm glad to hear that the project is doing well. Notify me when it's ready to be tested. I want to see what it can do."
"Yes, executor."
"Oh, and for future reference, I think calling it archangel could be a more fitting name."
---
The fight near it's end. Alex could feel the broken rib cause him pain, but he couldn't stop now. Not when he managed to brake one arm of his opponent. He just needed to watch out for the other three. He couldn't see through one of his eyes as it was swollen, but he could still see his target. He spat out a tooth that got knocked loose and got up on his feet. He rushed to Krongrath and locked one of his other arms in a lock. He applied all the pressure he could could util he heard what he wanted. A loud snap. Krongrath tossed him aside and his back collided with the cage. He could feel something else brake, but now he managed to get rid of one of his' opponent's advantages.
"Time to finish this. Come on, get up. One last push." Alex got up and locked eyes with the giant. The challenger charged him, but Alex managed to dodge out of the way in time. Krongrath hit his head on the cage's wall and his head broke through it. Alex jumped on his back while the giant was busy trying to dislodge himself. He wrapped his arms around the neck and started applying a hold. Cutting of the air. He could feel he enemy fading until he stopped struggling. Once he was sure he won, he slipped off. He had won. He was now a very rich and retired from pit fighting. The crowd started chanting "Fight. Alex. Fight."
---
"So now you're out of the business, what are you gonna do? I mean all you for the last five years, you fought for me and brought me a ton of money and influence. What else can you do?"
"Kras, you know that I'm getting old. Well, not old, old. But old for this. I doubt you would love the diminishing results if you keep me around. That's why that match was my last." Alex answered as he was packing his things.
"Yeah, I guess. It's a shame to see you go is all. But I did well before you, so I'll do well after you. What are you gonna do with all that cash tho. Live the life?"
"You know why I did this. And I'd rather I leave something more for her. And to do that I need to stay alive longer. And fighting in a pit is the polar opposite of being alive."
"Ok, where are you gonna go?"
"I hear that there is a trio of kanads living a party life. I'll see if they need a world class chef."
"Alex, I tasted you cooking. You can't cook for shit."
"That's because your taste buds are shot to shit from all that cheap booze and drugs." He extended a hand "See ya around, Kras."
"See ya kid. Hope your new life isn't bad."
On board the ship that the group on Zeruel had escaped in, they met up with the rest of the crew. Following the Archius' crash, the crew on board and staff alike worked together to keep any lurking mercs at bay from the ship, keeping everyone's belongings safe until help arrived. When help did arrive, they managed to move out everyone's belongings, putting them in special containers for safe keeping. These containers were distributed among the survivors of the battle, including Dwan, who received his container for Byron himself. Byron explained that he knew Dwan wanted to keep his stuff secret, so he did his container. Dwan thanked him immensely for doing so.
Looking through the container, Dwan did confirm that all of his stuff was in it; clothes, briefcases and stuff he brought into this universe with him. When the ship landed elsewhere, Dwan handed over Lion's head to the SDF. As he attempted to say his goodbyes to the crew, he was pulled back in as he was invited to a ceremony on Mars for Lion, Varn and Jeremy. Dwan, not wanting to look like a jerk, accepted the offer. He ended up being watched during the entire trip on Mars, unable to leave.
Arriving on Mars, Dwan received a temporary hotel room for him to stay in. He knew he couldn't leave now; that would just be uncultured. He did, however, dump all of his weapons, armor, clothes and other stuff back at his pad, leaving him with only his standard clothing, as well as his container, which now housed Sertum's head.
A week passed and the ceremony at the Valley of Heroes had come and gone. He didn't really know what to think. He thought that, because of Lion's robotness, he couldn't really die, just be disabled. Surely, he had a backup, right? Right?.... Dwan slowly accepted that Lion had really, honestly, passed away. He ended up lingering at the Valley, looking at the three statues that were set up.
Valerie was walking amongst the statues with a synthweave poncho covering her uniform. She was due to ship out the next day and wouldn't return for at least three weeks to the villa.
She approached one of the statues and lit a candle which she placed next to the base of the statue.
Valerie then looked up and was greeted by her brother's face; Victor Reed. Who had died in the service of the SSFD.
The night-time winds created several dustclouds which moved around her as she continued towards the Zeruel monument.
Another candle was lit and placed at the base, next to the sculpture of Lion.
She fell to her knees and began sobbing but suddenly stopped when she sensed someone nearby.
Dwan heard sobbing near Lion's statue, but he didn't pay much attention to it. This was a sad occasion, after all. But then he noticed who it was near the statue. It looked like the woman in the photo Lion showed him a while back. As he thought about how sad it was to see her that way, he remembered something. Lion had given him something back when they were traveling to Kuromo in the Ranger. He checked his pockets, as he was wearing his current clothing when he pocketed the object. He ended up grabbing something in his left pocket; a small circular holoprojector.
Dwan approached Valerie, before making a little cough to draw her attention. "Um, hello.", Dwan said, as he awkwardly tried to start the conversation. He got straight to the point. "Lion gave me this a while back. He said I should give it to you in case something bad happened....", he stated, as he showed her the holoprojected.
"Who?" Began Valerie but quickly cut herself off when she saw the holoprojector. "An SSFD projector?" She started tapping on some buttons and the projector came on. She gently placed it ontop of a small stone next to the rock formation that housed the Zeruel monument.
After showing a circular blue shape which looked like static the projector started. Suddenly Lion's head and upper torso was visible.
He tried his best at smiling despite having a robotic body and face. "Hi Val, hope you are well. I've missed you. Alot." His face suddenly became more neutral.
"Sadly, if you're watching this it means that I wasn't able to cheat death a second time. If that's the case I'v emade numerous precautions; Inlcuded on this projector is a small chip containing valuable data. This data will allow you to access several of my accounts where I've stashed the culmination of twenty years of salary from the SDF. Hopefully it'll make things a bit easier." He paused and looked around as if he was unsure what to say.
"I never meant to hurt you Val, I always loved you. I'll never forgive myself for walking out on you after I became... this. Hopefully I've gotten the chance to talk with you at least once before you watch this recording so I'm hoping you'll know this. I'm sorry, I should've stayed."
He did a quick pause again. "There's also something you should know; those years afterwards when I was freelancing? I wasn't really freelancing at all. I can't tell you anything besides that. You're gonna have to ask Wayford and then maybe he'll tell you."
Lion chuckled. "Before you start worrying; don't. I've been doing good things, things I convinced myself would make me a better man."
"Past two weeks I've been on a ship. The Archius. Odd bunch, but they're good when it comes down to it. The captain reminds me a bit of Reed, you would've liked him. Can't tell you much about this either other than that I'm surrounded by friends. Hopefully that remained into the end."
His eyes were fixed at Valerie. "You're strong Val. Don't give up. I'll always love you. Take care, don't forget to be happy. All is not lost." Lion then smiled befoe the projector turned off.
Valerie was about to pick it up when it came back on. This time Lion was armored up and had a different faceplate.
"Just wanted to add this is incase I don't make it; Dwan, I want to thank you. Thank you for listening. Thank you for being there. I couldn't have asked for a better brother-in-arms. I know you've had it rough but I hope, despite what the future holds, that you end up happy. You deserve it. Big Cat, over and out." He chuckled just before the projector shut off for the second and final time.
Valerie retrieved it and looked at Dwan. "Thank your for bringing me this, you gave us a way to say goodbye."
Dwan had a gentle smile as he saw Lion say goodbye to Val... before being surprised by his message to him. Dwan's smile grew twice as big, knowing that he had managed to do this one last thing for him.
He heard what Valerie said. "N-no worries, it is the least I can do.", Dwan said, as he tried not to sound awkward.
She smiled for a bit. "If you ever need a place to stay, please, don't hesitate to drop by. I'm sure Leon- Lion- would've wanted it. You are always welcome." She then put down the projector into one of her pockets before taking a last look at the monument before her deployment.
Dwan's smile reverted back to a slightly neutral looking expression. "Thanks for the offer, but I'll have to refuse it.", Dwan told Valerie, before looking out at the distance. "I need to leave now. I....", Dwan began saying, as he tried to formulate the right words. "....I'm not really going to be around anymore. If anyone asks for me, tell them that. If anyone wants to give me something, accept it in my name. I don't really need it.", Dwan said.
"It has been nice meeting you, Valerie.", Dwan told her, as he began heading back to the hotel, waving at her as he left.
[How the hell did I kill over 240 people? :v:]
You blew up a frigate and set off a chain reaction killing a lot of religious zealots.
[And when did Iska kill all those robots?]
The Sun deployed drones to defend Zuriel while everyone was landing. Iska blew a bunch of them up.
A lot of the time in combat Doom never said a specific number of enemies, so I had to make up a way to count the kills on the spot while sounding heroic bet yer in a reasonable range.
[editline]26th January 2016[/editline]
it goes like this. Number of the roll if it succeeds-2. Say Lion tossed a grenade into a group of enemies and rolls a 7. Doom says that the explosion kills many, but doesn't give a number. 7-2=5 dead enemies.
She nodded. "I understand, take care Dwan." As Dwan walked off she remained for a few minutes.

High Councilor Quint Wayford let out a deep sigh as he sat down in his leather chair. He observed the many items items infront of him and decided to grab one. A glass of scotch.
As the strong liqour poured down into his throat a tiny movement at the edge of his eye caught his attention.
He put down the glass. "Director."
Director Talwin Williams had suddenly appeared in a chair at the corner of the room.
"How long?" Asked Wayford, to which Williams took a guick glance at his watch.
"Five minutes. You're getting better."
Both men chuckled.
"Anything to report?"
"Project Alpha is running ahead of schedule, it has also taken a interesting turn."
Wayford raised an eyebrow. "Tell me more..."
((Okay, so I have a couple of notes for those of you who are showing off your new characters. First, despite earlier statements I may have made about the interval between the two games, there's going to be a 2 year fast-forward between the stories. I decided to do this so it could give people the chance to develop characters or factions arising in the aftermath of the first game, but have it be background by the time they arrive in the sequel.
This means that characters who are meeting up with TBC now will have some established history with the company by the time the sequel begins in 2385. I'm absolutely okay with this, but if you have any concerns you can contact me on Steam about it.
Also, people keep referring to TBC as a group of kanads, a trio of kanads, etc. I bring this up because Neasha is a serek and not a kanad. I figure either people are confused about this or that it's a running gag that I'm not in on.))
( long post incoming, going to be from the perspective from my post to night after the memorial of Viper. )
Viper filled with rage and purpose, rose once again from the rubble surrounding it with the man who had taken both the lives of it's Captains in it's sights, looming over his last victim.
The Sanghvi used whatever it could muster to get it's body back to fighting condition, ready to sacrifice itself if need be to ensure the survival of it's comrades above all else.
Staggering and barley able to stand still for an moment, Viper took an moment to breath, thinking about what it and who was fighting for.
Viper once thought about retiring within Sol after this, giving up on all this senseless war and violence, to finally live in absolute pace for once in it's twelve years in constant service.
Lion could have easily given Viper the necessary papers and would have helped it ease into civilian life after Viper had setting things right with several lose ends within the UGC.
Now Lion will never hear this offer nor will he be returning to whoever was waiting for him to return home, be it is parents, old friends or someone he loved dearly. Like Jeremy, he is gone forever and nothing will change that.
But killing Sertum would surely save whatever comrades it still had left and bring it an end to this whole matter once and for all.
As such Viper was able to stabilize itself, at least for several moments, enough time for it to ready itself another furious charge at Sertum.
Whatever the outcome may be, Viper wasn't going to give up, it couldn't. Not with so many of lives on the line.
The Sanghvi gotten itself lined up with the Auditor, blades ready and aiming for his throat. Viper took one last breath before charging towards him, making pace with itself before it's assured death.
However, the cruelness of fate had once again taken the Sanghvi's chance. It's damaged legs begin to crack and shatter as near striking range of Sertum, it's talons broke apart as they slammed into the fell onto the hard concrete beneath it.
It's body was falling apart, no amount of will or determination could change that but Viper refused to believe it and pressed on, slowly dragging itself across the ground towards him.
When the final blow against Sertum was struck and his eventual death assured in just an few moments, Viper gave in and let go of it's futile struggle for vengeance.
It's limp body was immediately grabbed by Iska after the last Auditor succumbed to his wounds, falling onto the ground like so many others that fought both with and against him in this cursed conflict.
Viper still cling to life as it was rested onto one of the many dropships leaving in and out of the area as seemly all forces began an massive withdraw from the entire planet.
The Sanghvi slowly past into and out of consciousness as the ship past the many battlefields and ruins across the planets, overlooking the many destroyed war machines and their nearby operators decorating the torn landscape as the ship flew.
Zeruel's complete destruction was the last sight Viper saw before sipping into an comatose state.
---
It wasn't until an week later that Viper regain consciousness, just an day before the ceremonies began on planet Mars of Sol.
Witch conveniently, Viper was already nearby. Well, above in an Sol system naval medical vessel within the outer atmosphere of the world.
The Sanghvi awoke in relativity peaceful state of mind, large sections of it's body we're encased in nano weave and hooked to several tubes linked to various substances with parts of it's damaged limbs removed.
Viper looked around in the zero gravity room it was stationed shortly before the assigned medical staff came to inform the rather confused Viper of the numerous operations and procedures it underwent during it's coma.
As the the doctors explained the various surgeries, they asked if they could install several prostheses built under the similar specifications and make to that of the LWA Mantis exosuit's.
Viper agreed and allow the medical personal at the station to proceed with this operation, finishing just hours before the beginning of the first ceremony.
Unsurprisingly, an UGC delegate with an rather small number of UGC Peacekeeper guards in tow came to the station, both to escort Viper to the ceremony and to inform Viper of it's immediate promotion to Lieutenant-Major.
Viper was very cold and stoic during the event, unflinching for hours in place and not show even the slightest of emotions during the ceremony. This wasn't particularly out of place for it's species even during the best of times.
After everything was set and done, after every medal and reward was given and passed, every monument erected to those who had given everything to their cause.
Yet Viper's wish of setting down for once in life had started to fade along as it's the inner struggles of UGC became more and more apparent as Tivak begin filling the Sanghvi's of the falling state of the organization.
This made Viper uneasy, it knew it was going to choose between either retirement or extending it's tour indefinitely. Hoping to leave after this whole affair had been figured out during the first few days of it's assignment.
But now. With everything that has happen, with everything that has yet to. Viper was too different from it hope to be at the end of it's journey.
Above that of mindless drone but yet..It's empathy and sympathy for everything it has done was gone, it's basic emotions were pushed to their very limits and now, they were but an shadow on it's mind.
Viper was truly different form what it wanted to be, but was something it needed to be it reconciled within it's the commendations, surrounded by the tired and stressed men and woman within the collapsing husk that was the UGC.
Maybe this was all Sanghvi commanders had gone through, it all was so confusing for the Viper. It had always compared these kind of issues to that of the soft-carbons but now Viper saw how foolish it was for doing so.
Viper thought about this all long and hard. Deciding to take an scroll alone through the Valley of Heroes at the mid of night to both help to itself think in pace and to also view the void uncluttered by light pollution within the small town nearby.
However during it's trip back to it's hotel, the Sanghvi came across an familiar figure walking back to presumably his commendations as well.
"Long time...Dwan." The Sanghvi said in an monotone voice, it's shadow looming over him as they both stood silent, alone in the dead of night.
