Dwan knew he had to do this. One shot and the house would be brought down. He stepped away from the pillar, as he motioned Varn to get Lion and Iska out of there. He fired directly at the ceiling with his mortar.
Iska and Varn tumbled on the floor, the acid missing Iska.
Iska frowned and spat on the ground. "Dangerous to fight close" she concluded, "Iska help Lion and you find Iska weapon" she said before sprinting over to Lion and lifting him up.
She started running back into cover with Lions torso under her arm, hoping to avoid further attacks from Zane.
Varn got up after Iska. He still needed to keep Zane focused on him. He took out his gun and aimed it at Zane and fired while yelling at the others. "What are you waiting for? Bring the roof down on him!"

Mini Roll Critical Success[9]: A single mortar at a high angle in the nick of time as Zane glided forward. The ceiling crashing down as the structure collided against his body. Causing an utmost sound of destruction with him crushed.
"That was close." Said Lion as Iska held his limbless body.
Dwan couldn't believe it. The plan worked. He smiled as he watched the rubble crush Zane. "Any longer and we would've been finished.", he commented.
Varn couldn't believe it. Was it really that easy? He turned his back on the rubble and walked towards the others. On the way he picked up one of Lion's arms. "You dropped this."
The pile of rubble started to shake, bits of shrapnel falling off as the pile went towards all directions. Zane walked out of the wreckage with his hoverboard now gone and shields malfunctioning. He upholstered his other weapon and took a shot at Lion's fallen arm, turning it to goo before Varn dropped it.
"I'm not dead yet." Zane declared.
"No, just breathing my air." Varn aimed at Zane's knees and fired.
"No, just breathing my air." Varn aimed at Zane's knees and fired.
Mini Roll Critical Failure[1]: Zane dodged the incoming fire, firing full semi automatic before he holstered them. He sprinted Varn at close distance before tackling him. Zane caught the sight of Varn's face.
"Time for you to shut that mouth of yours." Zane grabbed the inside of Varn's jaw, immediately pulling with all the might of an Auditor can hold. The smell of flesh and acid oozed out of Varn's mouth. The overwhelming pain gave him an almost zombie look. Zane held the torn off jaw, observing the work. A final move and Zane squashed the jaw with a small pound, exploding it in blood pints.
Bruta shot a repeating rounds of plasma at Zane, shooting off the shields while spreading across his body.
Varn let out a sound that would be described as a scream if it wasn't a garbled mess. Afterwards gargled sounds that vaguely resemble a laughter and then silence. Varn could see Zane's proud look turn to that of confusion as the mercenary got back on his feet. From Zane's perspective he could see the broken face of the clone. Varn's eyes told the whole story. The light were on but nobody was home.
Varn pulled out his combat knife and charged his enemy. The concept of self-preservation completely replaced with the desire to end his opponent's life.

Mini Roll[6]: The confusion left Zane distracted, Varn immediately charged and gave a big stab at the chest area so hard he pierced the armor. Zane was left stunned but tried to keep focused.
Varn continued his attack, aiming to bring Zane down oh his back.
"Defense matrix active." Exclaimed Lion as a sentry drone deployed from his rear container unit, firing salvos of lasers at Zane.
The Crimson fighters rained down on the Daedalus in a cruel display of electronic warfare, exploding violently on impact with their bellies full of primed rockets and the like. They bathed the mech in a reddish hell glow of fire as they ruptured and flaked away like burnt out husks of insects. None of the pilots made it out alive, but while the Daedalus was damaged for sure, it wasn't crippled.
"Hyusha," Yanim remarked after realizing what she had done, "that's the coolest thing I'll ever do." She accepted Rask's hand and stood up, and, feeling less pressure now that the enemy fighters had been eliminated, decided to return to the bridge. Rask opened the door for her, and she was met by Virin's dumbfounded expression.
"I... honestly can't believe that worked... I mean, look at that-" he said, pointing at the digital display. "There's a gash in that thing's forward armor. Our allies are pounding the shit out of it; sooner or later something is going to give."
Rask took only a moment to look at the damage before frowning. "Keh. That's not as bad as it looks. At least, it's not as bad as we need it to be. These sorts of war machines are meant to take those kinds of blows and keep ticking. It'd be better if the blast came from the inside." Rask watched as Virin winced, and then realized he might have made a mistake. Snapping around decisively, he scowled at Yanim- "don't get any ideas, boss."
"Well..." Yanim mused. "If we were to recharge the Valkyries..."
"Fuck," Neasha suddenly blurted from the pilot's seat. Virin put his hand to his temple and paced the bridge nervously.
"...we could pull the ship in close, at low speed, and then two of us could drop out of the cargo bay. We could let our forward momentum carry us through that breach and into the machine's interior. Then we could plant some small charges in just the right areas..."
"No," Rask and Virin objected in unison.
"We'd be right in its cone of fire," Virin warned. Neasha silently gestured in agreement while keeping her eyes on the controls.
"We've done enough. Let's get the hell out of here," Rask added. Yanim glared at them both.
"We're winning this fight," she spat. "Maybe you all haven't been in this position before, but I can feel it. That mech is going to be destroyed, and so long as you all decide not to cut and run-"
"Are we back to this shit again?" Virin demanded. "Not while they're still breathing?"
"No, no..." Yanim said with a grimace, shaking her head. "This isn't a thrill kill, or catharsis, or whatever you want to frame it as to justify running away. This is about doing what we can with what we have- we can do more and we have more to give. It'd be a damn shame to let this victory go right before we seal the deal."
((Will continue this in another post later tonight.))
Dwan was stunned to see Zane still alive, but not really surprised. Dwan grabbed his Obrez and fired at him.
Varn continued his attack, aiming to bring Zane down oh his back.
Mini Roll[8]: Varn continued to push Zane further, even slashing him across the chest. He kicked him on his back and was still determined to deal the blow.
"Defense matrix active." Exclaimed Lion as a sentry drone deployed from his rear container unit, firing salvos of lasers at Zane.
Mini Roll[5]: Despite the backup in place the drone fired many laser but didn't land a hit due to the far distance.
Dwan was stunned to see Zane still alive, but not really surprised. Dwan grabbed his Obrez and fired at him.
Mini Roll[6]: As Varn knocked back Zane, he took the shot near, landing a hit at his thigh area. But he was still active as a threat.
"Repositioning." Said Lion in a stale & monotone robotic voice, it was the complete opposite of his normal voice.
The drone circled around and fired another salvo.
Varn took his knife with both hands and aimed it down towards Zane's forehead.
Dwan continued to assist Varn by further firing at Zane with Andrast.
"We're not going in that thing," Virin repeated. "We don't know what's inside, or where the important bits are. You're good with robotics, boss, but that doesn't make you a psychic."
"And how the hell would you even get out?" Rask interrupted. "It's not like we can just bring her around again and pick you up at the curb." Yanim looked off into the distance, gritting her teeth. She wasn't sure if the Valkyries would hold enough charge to let them land inside the mech and then save them again after bailing out.
"Then what's your plan?" Yanim barked. "I'm not going to humor any more notions of running away, do you hear me? You all chose this fight; you all pledged your support. And you know we're not going anywhere until the battle is won in orbit. Understand?" Yanim paced the bridge frustrated with her crewmates but still keeping her anger in check. She knew she couldn't win the hearts and minds of the crew with shame alone.
"Yanim," Neasha cut in with a cold finality, "by the time you realize you've asked too much, we'll all be dead." Silence followed, and from the pleading look in Virin's eyes, she felt the same hopelessness they had began with settle over her once more.
"I've asked too much already," Yanim replied bitterly, her eyes in a squint as she sized up the situation. Her mouth was dry and her hands were trembling. She had one more trick up her sleeve. "But I have one last request, serek. Hear it out."
Neasha turned her head and looked at the boss through the corner of her eye. "Well?"
"Fifty million credits. That's what Dwan offered me, and I'll cash the check. You can have every last one of them if you get me close enough to jump... alone." Rask turned away quickly, something having clearly disturbed him.
"Both of you-" Virin attempted to interrupt, but Yanim spoke over him.
"And as for you two, if you won't go down there and finish the job, that's fine, but I insist you ride along with the serek and watch me do it. Because if I do what I intend to do, maybe I'll have finally earned your trust and respect, rather than simply borrowing it. But if I die, at least it will only have been me. I'll have given everything I have away, and maybe even fostered inspiration within you to go off and be bold on your own someday."
"I'll do it for free," Neasha answered with a flippant shake of the head. "Maybe if I'm charitable the gods will have mercy on my soul."
"No, no no!" Virin suddenly burst out, losing his calm demeanor. "Yanim, why do you insist on living your life like a series of points you have to prove?" The ship began to turn back toward the Daedalus. "Akha, hold on a minute, serek, let's talk this out."
"There's nothing to talk about, Virin. If you want to stop me, come up with a different plan of attack."
Without warning, Rask pulled his VRI out of its holster and pointed it at Neasha. Reflexively Yanim and Virin both pulled their guns and pointed them at Rask, but the latter kept his eyes on the pilot. "Serek, land the ship," he grumbled. "And you two, you can put your guns away. I just have a plan, that's all."
"Fuck you, kanad," Neasha answered defiantly. "Boss, do something!"
"Let's hear what he has to say," Yanim answered with a sly undertone. She slowly lowered her pistol, to the shock of Virin. Perhaps she had inspired some kind of boldness after all.
"Do it." Rask demanded with a threatening inflection. His grip on the pistol tightened, and Neasha drew a shallow breath which revealed her shock at the betrayal. She did as she was told. "Alright. Here's what's going to happen. I want Yanim to reinstall her virus on the ship's computer while I arm all of the bombs remaining in the cargo hold. There should be more than enough to disable that mech completely. All of us are going to get out of the ship as soon as we can safely touch down, and we'll use the whole damn ship as one big supersonic cruise missile."
"Th- The ship!?" Neasha stuttered. "Y-you can't!"
"Rask," Virin said as he also lowered his gun. "You can't be serious. The ship is everything we have left."
"And it's full of holes," Yanim said with a sudden, excited smile. "Once we get paid, we can have this thing replaced without any of the liabilities of patched parts. Who knows how much those repairs would have cost."
"How dare you!" Neasha shrieked. "You're no better than them; you know I'd have never agreed to this."
"Keh! Well yeah, that's why I've got a gun to your head," Rask answered. "Maybe you should pay attention to the fact that we'll buy a better one rather than getting all wrapped up in your nostalgia."
"I don't care. I'll never fly for you again," Neasha claimed as she dove toward the ground behind a ridge, far enough from the Daedalus that the crew could be relatively safe. Virin departed the room to retrieve Gataska and inform her of their decision.
"[There's one glaring issue,]" Yanim said in kanad. "[Once I start controlling the ship, I'm going to be vulnerable. Can you and Virin keep me safe while I focus?]"
"[Of course. Sorry I didn't warn you about this idea up front. I was worried that she would have done something stupid if I didn't hold her up.]"
"[Right. I understand.]"
---
The landing position was relatively out of the way of the battle, but it was behind enemy lines. The five crewmembers quickly disembarked and dropped into a shady space behind some rocks while Yanim tapped into the primary computer of the Belladonna and began to control it remotely. It quickly lifted off and turned toward the Daedalus, accelerating to supersonic speeds. The plan was simple, the ship would climb to a high altitude, circle around the Daedalus until the proper opportunity arrived, and then would perform a diving turn into the damaged frontal armor, detonating all on-board explosives, in hopes of finally bringing down the mech.
Before that could come to fruition, however, a detachment of Crimson rangers were closing in to investigate the mysterious deployment behind their lines. As they neared the hiding spot of the Belladonna crew, Virin signaled to the others to stay hidden as attempted to ambush the rangers.
"Whoa, did you see that?" Yelled one of the SDF pilots. Several fighters rained down on the giant Crimson Son robot, opening up its armor.
"Whatever it was, it gave us a window. All squadrons, converge on the target." Said another pilot as the fighters formed up to strike.
As the Belladonna cruised past the mayhem around the mech, a tank brigade of the SDF backed up by HarkArk troopers pushed forward.
Meanwhile in orbit, the battle was getting more dire by the minute.
"We just lost the Corvus!" Yelled one of the deck officers as a Sol vessel was set ablaze after a Crimson Son ship tore through it with a red beam.
Suddenly a black CS cruiser crashed through the burning wreckage using its armored bow.
"New contact!"
"Ready weapons!" Yelled Zhaneys.
Pippin groaned and shook his head. "Shit, what just happened?"
Mercury stood next to Pippin with a shocked expression on his face. "That guy just shot out of the rubble he was burried under and Varn got his big mouth torn off. I think that made him go off the deep end and I'm sure that those gargling sounds coming from him are screams of anger. I can't tell, he has no jaw."
Viper rushed along side it's comrades in their bawl with the Auditor, Varn taking the blunt of the Auditor's brutal attacks as he savagely threw everything he hide in killing his nemesis that stood before him with an slashed crest and red bits of the Merc's jaw in his hands.
Viper leap towards the back of this obsidian steel giant with it's talons and claws at the ready as it's eyes and scanner quickly searching for any weak point Viper was able to find an area to exploit within several seconds.
Readying it's talons to penetrate the lesser armored region of his back in an attempt of shattering or at least damage his spine and any organs in it's attack.
"Okay, shit, where's my gun?"
Iska had entered some sort of trance and had remained seated next to Lion in cover behind a pillar.
When she came too, she looked around and concluded that the battle was over.
Lacking a weapon, Iska jogged over to an abandoned CS heavy machine gun emplacement.
She ripped the HMG from it's tripod and fashioned some straps to hold the large ammo container on her back as a backpack.
Once this was finished she went back to Lion and kneeled over him, putting her weapon aside.
"Captain have automatic repair or you need Iska to look?" she asked with a slightly worried tone, which was justified, since Lion was basically a torso with a head and a few loosely hanging limbs.
"That thing is ready to collapse. Be ready to move forward once it hits the ground. I've been told that reinforcements are on their way." Seth looked towards the Daedalus. "With that thing gone, we can safely push the Sun into their holes."
Noble tapped him on the shoulder. "Reinforcements are here, boss. Their commander wants to talk." Seth turned around to face the commander. His helmet masked the surprise followed by frustration on his face. "Of all the people in the Galaxy, they send you?"
"Your reinforcements are here, commander Rollonso!" Mordecai said with a cheerful tone to his voice. He was surrounded by four Death Vigil reapers. "Did you expect the Omegas or Alphas? Oh no, my dear boy. Those two are decimated, thanks to yours truly and it would take years for them to even consider taking up a contract this big."
"I was expecting someone who isn't over a hundred years old and dresses in black and white all the time, like life is a constant funeral."
"This coming from a man, who seems obsessed with the Earth creatures known as wolfs?" Mordecai chuckled. "My age is a small factor in combat, and so is our attire." He scanned the Boome's gathered around them. "I see you brought your best men, which is good, you need the others to defend your homes. I however, brought every reaper, stalker and initiate under my command."
"What do you want, Mordecai?" Seth didn't try to hide the hostility in his voice.
"Why so angry, Seth? Last time I checked, we are not at war with each other." he stepped closer "Ahh, it's my reputation isn't it? That I cannot be trusted, that I will stab you in the back as soon as I am able. You would be wise to listen to my critics, but they often forget why I do the things I do. Take Loren over here." Mordecai pointed to one of his men "He is currently in my inner circle and is currently plotting against me. Seize him." The three other reapers grabbed their "comrade". The reaper started to fight to break loose but the others kept him in one place. "I'm sorry Seth, but sometimes you need to surprise the rat to catch it."
Mordecai turned around to face the traitor. "Did you honestly believe that I wouldn't monitor your communications? How senile do you think I am?" He pressed a button on the reaper's armor. The armor locked up as Loren stood still. "Congratulations Loren. You are now squad leader of the next wave of troops. If you survive, your transgressions are forgiven. If you die...your eternal vigil begins." He pressed another button as screams could be heard from inside. "I should also add that if you refuse to follow these orders, you will be executed by pain inhibitor overload. Ironic that overloading them would cause pain." He turned back to Seth. "Back to my point. I just betrayed Loren's trust. Why? Because he was planning to kill me. I tend to harm those who wish to harm me. You are one of the few that have shown enough wisdom to live and let live. So you would have no reason to fear me."
"Right, but you still haven't answered my question. What do you want?"
"HarkArk is offering quite a big payday for this, so I decided to get my share of the spoils. I have a thing for technology that is hard to find and the Sun has so much of it in those bunkers and underground labs. You and a few others are the only ones I can trust not to get in my way when the pillaging starts. If you agree not to take anything, I will not only lend my aid here, but also give you our monetary share of the spoils. I will also send you any information that could prove useful to solve your anger management problem to sweeten the deal. What do you say? Do we have a deal?" Mordecai extended his hand. Seth looked at it and back at him, after a minute he shook his hand, feeling that he just made a deal with the devil.

Mini Roll[5]: Once the ambush was in motion, the squad leader halted his soldiers and noticed a feeling of eerie. He yelled out the trap and everyone engaged in a firefight. The start began with no landed hits. Tracers and salvos coming from all directions.
"Repositioning." Said Lion in a stale & monotone robotic voice, it was the complete opposite of his normal voice.

Mini Roll[3]: Zane saw the drone make another shot while he was down, before he could face Varn's wrath he fired a charged shot, blowing the thing up before it can do anything.
Varn took his knife with both hands and aimed it down towards Zane's forehead.
Mini Roll Critical Failure[1]: Zane saw Varn's face as it was, torn and battered by the effects of war. Varn pressed down the knife using both hands. The Auditor simply halted his advances by grabbing his forearms.
"Is that it? Your desperate act to die by taking my life? You've been through many battles but yet you don't realize your own potential future." Zane said to his face, tightening the grip around his arms.
"I'm disappointed in you. Even skilled men must know their limits." The Auditor immediately kicked Varn's stomach away 5 feet while getting his knife also. Zane observed Varn's knife surely about to kill him until he stopped him. Varn stood there a short second, clenching his hands into fist taking the defensive stance so Zane can attack him first.
"If a fight is what you truly want then I will deliver it to you." Zane declared, walking forward with his knife in hand. Once Zane got close Varn attempted to knock over his feet but he dodged that, a slash across the chest was received. Varn attempted to get a few punches but it was enough against this freak. Varn then extended the last blade he had on his forearm, about to jab this shitbird in his chest. But that never came.
Varn's forearm was stabbed by his own knife while Zane held the blade by his other hand. The blade snapped while the knife got out. The Auditor kicked him in the chest, placing him a few feet away but Varn still got up. Zane held the knife to a reverse grip, eyeing Varn's head. Varn saw a gun on the floor, picking up and aiming it down to fire.
Zane charged, hastening his speed to meet Varn as he was under fire. Each inch as both attacked. Only one would come out of this...
Varn's neck was pierced by the knife, Zane slightly holding Varn's back. Varn dropped the gun out of pain and fading. Varn struggled to get out of the bastard's grasp but couldn't.
"Save your anger. You've come this far and you should be proud." Zane said.

Time seemed so slow. But the fire was still there.
"Our wrath consumes us to the point we've become our own demons. Our reasons, faded from the voice of hate. No one can possibly erase that because it is all we've have. Now pain is the end result." Zane said as he saw the Varn's adrenaline on full gauge. Soon it was lose all it's juice and Varn will surely be in pain for the entire night.
"This pain, it will overwhelm you once your anger is gone. There will be no way to come back from this." Zane saw him, seeing the knife still lodged in Varn's neck, oozing out with blood.
"Let me end it as quickly as I can." Zane stated as he used his strength, all of it to try and make this painless as it can be but he knew that was going to be the opposite. Zane pulled the knife out and eyed Varn's forehead. Zane formed a hand gesture, two fingers. He rammed his fingers, pressing against the pressure point. Varn finally went blank, he collapsed on the floor. Varn was gone.
Zane stared at him before taking his look on the others.
Dwan continued to assist Varn by further firing at Zane with Andrast.
Mini Roll[8]: Zane was too slow in unholstered his guns as Dwan fired at his chest area. Zane held the severe wound before grabbing his two weapons firing acid.
Viper rushed along side it's comrades in their bawl with the Auditor, Varn taking the blunt of the Auditor's brutal attacks as he savagely threw everything he hide in killing his nemesis that stood before him with an slashed crest and red bits of the Merc's jaw in his hands.

Mini Roll Critical Success[10]: Viper was clearly on the motion of penetrating Zane's back while he was firing using his weapons. One swift move was all Viper needed to take Zane out, the man was weakened and he needed to be put down. Unfortunately Zane turned to face against Viper. Viper needed to switch up his tactics and wing it, this time focusing on the chest. Viper faced the overwhelming acid while Zane saw the enemy move in closer. Within a second.
The penetration was realized. Zane's chest overwhelmed by its claws and talons. The acid weakened Viper enough to be pushed off. Zane held his critical wound once again and stared at the enemy.
"I am done." Zane declared before walking. He stared at the area and stood motionless before seeing the body of Varn. "All are worthy in combat." He turned and sat on the floor, feeling the rubble and folded his legs into a Buddha formation. He took a moment of silence before he spoke again.
"Are you satisfied?" Zane asked with curiosity looking at the others. "Sometimes, we realize the consequences. We ask if it's worth it. All this destruction and scars for our goals. Even if we succeed the scars will always be there, the new generations will always carry our own faded sins." Zane said as he observed his wound. "But even I believe they can make it right in the end. It only depends on them once we all perish."
"What is set in stone, we can't change it. We can only accept the hand we are dealt with." He released the seals around his helmet and took it off. He activated the lockup within 3 minutes, no one will be getting his armor. Zane placed the helmet down while he felt his hair strained in sweat. A genetically engineered human at his best.
"We're not so different after all." Zane remarked before closing his eyes, standing motionless. The blood dripping out of his wound. His hands leaned out. No pulse.
...
"Sir, I believe the Richter has informed us that the Operation is a work in progress." Zane reported to his leader. Sertum nodded. "Deception is key after all." Sertum stated as he saw Arenax unconscious. Zane was relieved, another side ops successful. Zane gave a small nudge at Dirge at the day. Dirge shrugged it off and took Arenax to his bedroom. Meanwhile Folter and Mariahlus walked down the stairs and greeted all of them.
"So, we ready to go? The Arbitrate Commission has informed us there's important activity on Duroma." Folter pointed with his index finger above repeatedly. Zane turned to Folter and gestured outwards. "We have casualties outside, the clean up crew will make sure everything is set before we got here." Zane explained. Folter raised his head, scratching his chin. "Very well. Hey! Zane let's clean up the mess ourselves instead." Folter said while tapping on his shoulder. Zane placed his hand over Folter's, sliding off as both turned sideways.
"That's not exactly a wise idea." Zane reasoned but instead got pushed off outside. "I'm full of unwise ideas, now hush before I leave you out." Folter and Zane were outside around the building where a couple of security guards left out in the cold.
"Alright Zane, how about a race? The fastest that can clean up the bodies wins." Folter clasped his hands as he squatted. Zane simply stared at him before looking at the bodies once more. "Folter, what do you think this is some kind of joke?"
"It's just a game." Folter reasoned. "What? You feel sorry for these people? Just another corporation that's in it for the money and ruin lives." Folter raised his voice while walking towards a body and touching the face. "That's not necessary." Zane said. Folter pressed his fingers between the guard's cheeks while turning to Zane. "You're no fun." Folter taunted before releasing his grasp. Zane walked forward and pointed against his neck. "This is sadistic!" Zane yelled.
"Calm down before you start to attract someone." Folter gestured outwards as they were near the gate. They heard something from a far distance. They immediately cloaked. A small figure approached to the gate, heavy coat, short hair. A light shined as both saw a explorer walk. "Damnit, you had to bring someone out." Folter spoke through the comm.
"Who is it?" Zane asked while Folter up close saw a kid. "A kid, Human, and is clearly going into a no trespassing zone." Folter said as he opened the gate. The kid reacted by shining on the light at the opening gate. The boy narrowed his eyes and saw nothing. Until Folter came out of his cloaking mode and scared the crap out of the kid. "Hey there kid, it looks like you're exploring a building you shouldn't be entering." Folter said while his hands were on his hips.
"Who are you?" The boy asked.
"No no no, I should be asking the question not you who are you?" Folter observed him while Zane was still in cloaking mode. "What are you doing?" Zane questioned while Folter ignored him. "Natal." The boy said with uncertainty. He was reluctant to answer to this strange man especially at night. "Natal, today's your lucky day to experience what an Auditor is supposed to be." Natal's heart was beating as Folter went closer to him. Zane widened his eyes. "Folter enough!" He attempted to put it through his comrade's head.
"What? Jus-just stay back alright?" Natal pleaded while Folter paced, pulling something behind his pouch. Zane immediately decloaked and grabbed his emergency weapon to target Folter.
"FOLTER!" He yelled for him...
Bang.
Folter pointed at the child, he stood motionless while the child fall to his back against the thick snow. Zane saw everything. Folter turned and saw Zane. "What?" Zane pushed him aside and saw the child. Yet there was no wound, no blood. He kneed down and activated a sensor. He was alive but was knocked out. "You actually believe I would kill a child?" Folter asked while holding a small device. Zane stared at him before grabbing the kid. "Don't do that again, I might end up shooting you." Zane warned him but Folter raised his hands in unison. "Relax buddy jones, I simply erased this event from his mind." Folter explained while he saw the kid.
"Don't." He repeated before walking off with the kid. Somewhere that had shelter. Zane sighed and looked above. He wondered if this covert war will truly end. The days he's done for the Crimus. He was proud, but at the same time felt something that bothered him. What will ultimately happen to all of them? He imagined for every action, there is a dreadful future awaiting but he remained hopeful. Hope was the only thing giving him the strength to fight. Hope was there deep down. Not for him and his comrades, but for the Crimus.
[Well now, I can't say I didn't expect this to happen. RIP Varn.]
