what are you mounting them with?
Well, if i'm going to use some kind of extra effect, I use After Effects. It can also mount them easly and export to a lot of video formats.. But I also know that there are other programs that you can do this..

mount them with vdub, then in after effect export max quality mp4. its the best.
Just a small heads-up:
For people who were saving their sessions and trying to export movies, make sure that you're doing it in a location OTHER than the TF2 directory. For some reason, SFM was showing files being created in the TF2 directory and there weren't any there when I checked with Windows Explorer.

I think windows doesn't let the TF2 beta have permission to write there
I render to a folder on my desktop
Does this require Steam to be running?

I use QuickTime.. It's very good, the video is 200mb in pure AVI then I render it with QuickTime + H.264 = 20mb.. 90% less :D
Does this require Steam to be running?
Nope.
Does this require Steam to be running?
It requires Steam to NOT be running.
You might get banned.. :ohdear:

Well, I ran it with and without Steam running and in both cases nothing happened when I clicked the icon.
Did you read the OP?

Shortcut is
"path to hl2.exe" -game tf -tools -console -applaunch 440 -window -noborder -novid

Shortcut is
Then I see no reason why it doesn't work.
I don't have it installed because I fear Valve. :ohdear:
You'll have to ask someone else, sorry.
So I rendered my first video and guess what? For some reason, it extended the last fram to 7 minutes.
The whole thing was supposed to be 17 fucking seconds.
Shortcut is
You must first run it without tools
Not sure if people know this yet, but you can adjust the focal distance on the Work Camera by pressing F and moving the mouse up and down.
Uh, when i taunt (press G) it crashes. Anyone know how to fix it?

could possibly be related to your processor? if it's a quad, you might be able to adjust it in the graphical settings. If not, reinstall it maybe
I am wondering if anyone can help me solve a problem I've been having, when I start rendering an AVI video, it says the Percentage complete is 100% and the time remaining is 0 seconds...
It is still rendering, but I can't tell the progress of the video so I can't tell if it's finished or not.
Is there any way to fix this?

dump to .tga and .wav and use virtualdub to put them together
check the time of the shot
assuming you're rendering at 24fps and the length of the shot is 12.8 seconds
24*12.8=307.2
so you should have about 308 frames when it's finished
so you go to the folder you told it to dump the frames to and see what number frame it rendered last
it will be name000001.tga etc
if the screen goes black while it's rendering the sound will most likely be too long
wait for it to get done and then dump the .wav again

Or just render the .wav and .tga files seperately; the progress bar should work if you do that.
