even if they removed the movement speed nerf, it would still be a piece of shit scrub unlock.

scrub unlock

scrub
The fuck are you thinking? Only idiots say "Scrub"! It's akin to saying Noob!
scenario #1: you're a lone sniper off on some battlements or something. assuming you have no immediate help from nearby teammates, you're fucked if a spy pops up. even if you're aware of his presence you have to frantically chase him down with your kukri before he can kill you with his revolver.LEARN HOW TO READ. I ALREADY SAID THAT YOU DON'T USE IT LIKE THAT.Stop bringing up this completely irrelevant point, please! You're giving me a headache!
scenario #2: you aren't alone, or you're in a group pushing the cart or capping or something. a competent spy will try to backstab as many of your teammates as he can, then proceed to finish you off with his revolver. all you can do is chase him around with your kukri before he can kill you. Once again, I already addressed this possibility. If a Spy can kill my entire team over and over again then there's little that I can do about it even if I have an SMG.
either way you're incredibly inefficient at dealing with the spy. the gayz0rback just slightly complicates the spy's task, while making the sniper useless at medium range. at least with the smg you can deal a decent amount of damage at medium range, or you could coat the spy with piss and let your teammates have at him as he tries to escape.Jarate is generally better for control point maps when you can use it to it's full potential. This is why you use it with the Huntsman, as this combo is most effective at mid-long range. If you use the Sniper Rifle with the Razorback, you are doing something wrong.

First of all, most Spies that I've seen can't shoot worth shit. Bum rushing them with the Melee generally works. Then you can just corner them and very easily destroy them.
Second of all, I know it's only useful for Payload. That's what I've been saying. If you move around a lot, you can make life for the Spy very, very hard! I know this because I've used it and it works!
If he's at medium distance and he back stabs someone, and if you are on a smart team, they will turn around and kill the Spy! It's that simple!
You talk about Spies with no skill, but you do not comment anything about unskilled snipers who won't even notice you Backstabbing their RB.
The fuck are you thinking? Only idiots say "Scrub"! It's akin to saying Noob!
He sure is acting like one. He keeps bringing up stupid situations that I keep talking about.
Q:"Well what if you're not with you're team camping somewhere?"
A:"You're not supposed to use it away from your team while camping, you use it with your team. When camping, use your SMG."
Q:"OH YEAH? Well what if you're camping by yourself? :smug:"
A:"I just said you don't use it while camping."
Q:"You're just being stupid. What if you are by yourself, camping?"

I'm not one of those Snipers.
Only use an unlock if you know how to use it.
If they are going to walk into a battle without knowledge on how the game works, then you deserve to die.
sgtnapalm i bet hes trolling

'I'm not one of those Spies' too.
Anyway it's pretty much what you said. Every weapon on TF2 can work really well, you just gotta know how to use it, and what to do with the Razorback is what you're saying.
sgtnapalm i bet hes trolling
ya i think your right
My first post back from having no Internet for 10 days. Let's see if I can make it a decent one
The sniper must have killed the spy with a non scoped shot or with the Kukri.
He Dead Ringered. ANY shot will cause that to fire, from 3 damage(the minimum) to a backstab(6x your health).
As for the suggestion to add a sound when it pops, trust me, there is one. It's a very loud KRRZZSSH that scares the fuck out of you if you aren't expecting it. If you're scoped in, it'll also draw you out of scope until you right click again.
Rambo_9, quit being a retard. The movement speed penalty has LONG since been removed, and SGTNAPALM is right. It's a VERY situational unlock, and can be useful when used in that situation. Just like every other unlock in the game, if you use it out of its situation, you're not using it right.
Edit: Motherfuck ninjas out the ass.

Exactly. I'm not praising the Razorback as the ultimate weapon, no. I'm sorry if I come across as arrogant in this discussion because I probably do, it's in my nature.
I for one use the SMG most of the time, I'm just saying that the Razorback does in fact have good uses, you just need to look for them.
Every weapon, even the Sandman and Backburner, Bonesaw, or whatever you name, can have good uses. However, some weapons just have better uses.
It's not a case of these weapons being total shit or being bad, no. They are all good weapons.
It's just that other weapons have more uses more times. I admit it, as a Pyro, there are times when I feel the need to break out the Backburner. It's not often, but it happens. Yes, there are times when I break out the Razorback. Not often, but it happens. All I'm saying is that blindly calling a weapon shit when it's clearly not is wrong.

Thank you! Someone who has a brain!
I was going to go off on someone in this thread, but then I refreshed and the argument played itself out without me.
Hooray for SGTNAPALM stressing the "unlocks as situational alternatives" point.
Oh look, Rambo_9 is ranting about how an item in TF2 sucks. Big surprise.
lmao you guys are all scrubs with horrible taste. cheers.

I cannot believe how completely retarded you're being.
How a person can be this stubborn within their convictions, fail to read posts as written, ignore all evidence, and then do it again in the next thread is beyond me, my good sir.

He's been doing this since the Goldrush Update, just pay him no mind. :v:

there is no evidence at all. you're all coming up with retarded circumstances in which the gayz0rback can be considered "useful". yes obviously if a sniper is in a crowd of teammates and wearing it he's going to be a bad backstab target.
catch one on his own and he's basically a free kill if you know what you're doing. seeing as most snipers sit back behind the crowd, 90% of the time you'll catch them alone.
compared to the other 2 useful unlocks it's a piece of shit. i shouldn't say anything though, it gives me the advantage in the long run since these hordes of plebs defend it like it's actually a decent replacement for an otherwise useful SMG.
I love how he rates himself agree every time, it's hilarious.
trap sprung.

When pushing the cart, spies trying to wipe the cart will think twice before striking, or die with their knives in hand. Given that the sniper is helping his team, he's either goddamn amazing with the sniper rifle or using the huntsman. In both cases the SMG will not be as useful, and Jarate is debatable.
And if a spy, when approaching a group of enemies, opens up with his revolver, he's going to get himself killed. Even worse if he's in the thick of them.
The point being it is an alternative for a specific use. Perhaps not often used, but it can be used.
I don't use the kritzkrieg all the time, because in some circumstances having the medigun is far more useful.
That does not mean I should never use the kritz.
Oh, and Rambo. We are not talking about snipers who sit back behind the crowd, obviously, given all the goddamn replies in the thread, if you'd read more than one or two sentences a post. Being a bad backstab target, in the thick of your allies, is making sure the cart doesn't get demolished by some spy with a god complex.
This play style is not the point whoring 2fort sniper you seem to advocate, it is an actual goddamn teammate.
And much like the kritzkrieg or natascha, it is a sometimes thing. Not always useful, but it is a viable alternative.
if you're on the cart and there's a spy nearby, you'd be better off just coating him with piss than sitting there waiting for him to stab your back.
you're talking as if the gayz0rback somehow forces the spy to do nothing. all he has to do is swap to his revolver and shoot if you're sitting there with your thumb up your ass. if there's a group pushing the cart he could just kill everyone else then switch to his gun and save you for last.

Well maybe if the spy's a goddamn god, jesus, you're acting as if spies are some unknowable and unstoppable entity, able to destroy entire teams on a whim.
The point being the razorback has a use, even if it is situational to the extreme.
I'm of the opinion it only really works with the huntsman, much like the eyelander works best with the targe.
lmao you guys are all scrubs with horrible taste. cheers.
Goddammit.
I fell for it, too.

Bleh, I did too. Should've known better since it hasn't even been a month since his thread about the Huntsman.

You kidding? I love debating shit like this.
Even if the guy is trolling.
i won't say that the gayz0rback doesnt have a use, because it does block backstabs. maybe in pubs it would be more useful. but up against a spy who knows what he's doing, it just gives you a disadvantage more often than not. unless you're backed up by teammates you really have no method of countering a spy attack.
so yes, it has a use. but it's so situational that you'd be better off going with the SMG since it has a use in far more situations, and can be used on any class (not just the spy).

Do you mean to imply that spies are regularly used in comp play?
Because um. :raise:
You can stop calling it the "gayz0rback"
It's far less trouble to type "razorback" as you don't have to reach all the way over for a 0, or vaguely similar idiot insults to replace syllables with.
And quite frankly, the replacing of a syllable with "gay" and use of a number in the middle of a word to indicate idiocy is a far overused troll tactic.
C'mon now, facepunch deserves a higher class of troll.
gayz0rback
Razorback's useless, and making it kill or damage spies will just encourage them to point-blank with the Ambassador.
There's maybe one or two situations where it's even remotely useful, one of them being maybe against a very new spy, with a very alert sniper who knows when his razorback is broken.
You guys realize this is one big troll thread, right?
It wasn't originally meant to kill a spy.
I dunno, this might work. I'd really rather have a kukri replacement instead.
Oh my god, i have a idea. Why not if you smash a spy from behind... You auto-kill him with a stab right through the back. Like that one part, in meet the sniper(I think)... But with a different model of course.
