Finally, the countdown ends at 0, the time of the huge announcement is upon us.
You have to take a quiz for a hat everyone already knew about.
Half the community starts throwing their shit around like a pack of rabid monkeys.
The other half decides to take the quiz for the hat.
The quiz is made up entirely of the most inane useless triva from their podcast, which has been running for two years. Also you had to be in the steam group to even be able to take the quiz.
More people join the rioters and about 1000 people get a hat.

I'm not even going to try the quiz. I can't say I've listened to a lot of the podcasts, only a few.

Could someone with connections to Kritzkast try get them to convince Valve to make the hat paintable? It has the files ready if you try it in itemtest but you can't paint it in-game.

but...
this isn't time based. if you were in the steam group then you can get a hat, if you aren't then you don't. people who joined after they knew you had to be in the group didn't get a chance.

I didn't actually try yet, but I found that on this topic and it was pretty persuasive, I must say.

well it was a case of dissapointing a few, or giving the hat to everyone, even the hoarders. If they didnt join the group, there is no way of verifying their authenticity. Having a few miss out is a better alternative instead of those undeserving getting it.
